EPIC Tripp: Crossroads – 5.05

Post 5.04 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 5.06

Well hello and welcome back to the EPIC Tripp. Last time we had lots of birthdays. Frank grew into a child, Miranda and Abby became adults. There were promotions and we are hoping Abby can top the criminal career before she and Miranda are elders so we can have a little girl.

Generation 5 – Crossroads: Criminal vs Law Enforcement

  • If heir(ess) chooses the Criminal career track
    • Every child born afterwards will need to be given the Evil trait, until a future heir(ess) (generation 9) reaches the top of the secret agent career.
    • Once heir reaches top of criminal track, couples can have as many children as they want, because they’re used to breaking the law anyway.
    • Proceed to Generation 6-b

As a quick glance, we are still working on getting Abby to the too as I mentioned before, which will unlock multiple children. So far Frank has gotten the Evil trait, and we do not have any other goals this generation.

We are going to start with Miranda at her latest gig. Things start off with her co-worker ok, but they decline quickly. I don’t think Miranda is much for acting with others.

You may recall last time Miranda convinced the hair and make-up girl to be her forever assistant, as well as wardrobe girl. She is a hassle and when the make up doesn’t go well the first time Miranda is quick to call into question if she has what it takes. Still, she pays well.

Miranda shrinks her co-worker. It’s supposed to be flirting, but it looks more to me like Miranda is making her week in the knees with her stare. Whatever looks good on camera I guess.

Miranda does well and that is the last time she goes to work. We now have a glitch. She can audition, but never gets the option to go to the gig. I was reading up on it, and it’s apparently a thing, but supposed to have something to do with travel. I made sure to not travel anywhere, or follow Zygo to his job and still didn’t get the option. So Miranda and joined a new talent agency and picked an entirely different part to see if we can get her going again.

Back at home Frank is working on his aspirations. I have no idea if the girls will have a chance to have another kid this gen, so I am operating under the assumption that Frank is our newest heir.

Zygo, while out in the garden, gets called to meet the aliens. Thank goodness he is a elder and can’t accidentally bring home a new kid. This seems to be because of his work tasks of contacting aliens.

This picture, amazingly enough holds all but the starting generation of the EPIC. You have Belle’s ghost dancing (gen 2), Lindsey’s ghost eating some food (gen 3), Lara eating some food (gen 4), You can just make out Abby beach coming through the window (gen 5), and then Frank, our currently gen 6. The only gen of this entire challenge missing is our founder, Kiana.

The next night is the men who are out and about. This looks like Ferdinando and I believe that is Francis as well. Of course Zygo is bonding with the bees so this is 3 generations of spouses. Only Johnny and Miranda missing.

Zygo is “invited” back to visit the aliens again. He is getting so close to finishing the science career. I’m not going to give either he or Lara any additional youth potion. They either reach their goals or they don’t.

Of course, right as I say that, it’s HarvestFest and Lara wants to leave us. I can’t do another sad holiday! NOT YET LARA.

Miranda is the first to notice and gasps. Zygo knows just what to do. This is what death flowers are for after all. Lara is brought back and no one needs to have a sad HarvestFest.

Since he didn’t get a soul today, Grim decides to go out and play with the cowplant…..I can’t remember his name now.

Mirana: Cornelius

Oh right, thanks Miranda.

The whole family, including Patchy, sits down to a grand meal. Then I remember Abby is a vegetarian and she made a grand breakfast. Oh well, she will deal with it today. Sorry Abby, I really am, I for some reason actually thought the breakfast was safe.

Afterwards, because apparently feeling sick for eating meat means cake is the solution, Abby goes and gets herself munched on by Cornelius. Luckily she is spit back out. You know Cornelius, you might not want to bite the hand that feeds you, or the evil one married to her.

Back inside and fairly oblivious to the near demise of Abby the rest of the family chats, dances, and cleans. It’s tough to get Abby up the criminal track since she only works 2 or 3 days a week.

Grandma is on-site to give the monster under the bed what for. I have not had monster scares this bad….well ever in this challenge I don’t think. Lindsey was probably the worst with her squeamish trait, but Belle just made friends with it.

After putting a stop to the monster, Lara takes one final look at the sky. Belle is there this time to mourn her passing and bring her into the afterlife. We shall see you again Lara.

Abby was at work when her mom passed, and while she is sad when she comes home, she also got promoted, so that gives her a bit of a boost. Look at that, 3 days a week. Even working hard she is going to need to a whole week, at least, to get promoted.

It’s the day of the Flea Market and everyone decides some time out the house might do them some good. So out we head. Sadly no one is selling anything interesting and no posters are available.

I send everyone else home and have Abby hit up some of the other areas of town and she manages to find a couple of posters that haven’t yet been taken to add to our collection.

Back at home, Miranda just needs to mentor someone on the guitar. Frank, who I apparently missed the picture of, has already maxed Whiz Kid and is working on Artistic Prodigy, cannot be mentored on the guitar sadly. So instead he plays the piano.

The day before his birthday he completes this aspiration as well. He only has about 1/2 the scouting badges so far, and he cannot seem to make any headway on the Good Deeds badge.

Frank misses his grandma. He and Zygo are the two who mourn her death the most. Miranda didn’t seem overly affected by it at all. So grandson and grandpa comfort each other.

Then it’s time for WinterFest. Happy WinterFest to all! Presents are opened, decorations are hung, and Abby cooks an acceptable grand meal. In the middle of all of these we got a call that the Spring Fling Bunny wanted to come over, that’s him in the blue sweater.

It also happens to be Frank’s birthday today. Happy Birthday Frank! He’s a teen now and has added Creative to go with his Evil trait. He gets Mentally and Creatively gifted and he goes for Nerd Brain for his aspiration.

That feels like a good place to end this update. Zygo is so close to a promotion, I thin he might max science before he leaves us, and Abby still needs 2 more promotions to max out the criminal track. Hopefully Miranda will be able to get back to acting soon.

EPIC Tripp: Crossroads – 5.04

Post 5.03 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 5.05

Hello hello and welcome back to EPIC Tripp! I hope you are doing well and I am excited to show you what is happening with the family. Last time we had Frank join the family, breaking the matriarchy. Abby and Zygo worked on their careers and Lara worked on her aspiration.

Let’s take a look at what is left on this generation, or what it brings going forward from this generation on.

All right, so we need to get Abby to the top of the Criminal career, give Frank the evil trait at some point (I’ve debated if I roll and if he happens to get evil great, and otherwise I’ll give it to him as a YA, or if I should start with the Evil trait.) Well let’s get started.

We begin with Lara’s friend, Cleo, inviting her out to karaoke. Lara goes and has a good time singing with her friend, and a couple of solo’s when Cleo went to take a nap.

Abby finally reached her branching promotion and of course we too the path towards boss. After all, how is she supposed to influence the boss to make Miranda a start without being close to the boss, or being the boss herself.

Before sending Lara home from karaoke, Lara checks out the boxes sitting around to see if she can find some snow globes. She does, in fact, find two of them and neither are ones we already had.

Zygo works on getting us a new sugar skull when the offering he gives is accepted, and after some chit chat and general friendliness he gets one, and it’s a new one! We only have 3 more to get.

Abby: Miranda, I have told you, I can’t just tell them to give you better parts, I have to earn some points with the boss.

Miranda: Give me a moment.

Miranda: Arrrgg…..she promised… me… I… would… be… a… star!

Miranda: Ok, I will do another commercial, but if I don’t get a part in a show or a movie soon….

Abby: I’ve been talking you up, they know who you are now.

Miranda: I better be, and once you become boss you better give me all the best parts.

This cow plant probably needs a name.

Miranda: His name is Cornelius and he’s a good boy isn’t he???? Yes he is.

Well ok, I’m not sure I will remember Cornelius, but ok.

Belle still visits often and is happy to see her granddaughter. They share a lovely hug, and while I know I will have to let Lara join Belle in the after life before too much longer I am not ready to face it quite yet.

Frank needs to get his thinking up a little bit more so he plays with his blocks for a bit. He’s a good kid, and his work on skills is progressing.

Abby needed to do mean interactions with someone, so when a litterbug came onto their lot I sent her out. When she threatened the girl her face was pretty priceless. Abby then told her to go away.

Frank asked Miranda to do flash cards with him. So she sat down and did it. Frank is basically even on most of his skills at this point.

These two are so sweet, I love them. Zygo has gotten another promotion at work, although I missed the notification he only needs 2 more promotions. He does have his needed breakthroughs.

Hard to believe, but it’s already Frank’s birthday. Frank managed to get all of his skills and will get the happy toddler trait. Abby is there to help him blow out his candles.

Frank is now a child. I decided to give him Evil as the first trait so that way anything he rolls in the future won’t contradict the evil trait. He also is going for Whiz Kid as his aspiration.

Lara is still working on the final level of her aspiration. She has been boxing or working with this guy every day to try and get that leveled up.

Frank plays some chess with his grandpa which helps him work the first milestone of his aspiration. He will also need to be read with, but for now getting the chess games will be great.

The day of Miranda’s commercial comes and she needs to practice acting. It doesn’t matter that this actress was using the mirror, Miranda needs it, so she just takes it.

Then it’s time to head into hair and make up. It’s our usual hair stylist and the first time she does her hair it’s a disaster. Miranda tells her she is not happy about it, and so she redoes it and is relieved when this time it comes out perfectly.

Then it’s into wardrobe, where things go without issue. The last time we had to wear this dress Miranda was very pregnant and this time they don’t have to work to get her into it nearly as hard.

Miranda decides she probably needs to keep these two near her, and wants them as part of her permanent team. She may not always be the nicest, but she promises she will more than make it worth their time.

Frank works on his homework, and he has joined the scouts as well. He is working his way slowly through the aspiration so far.

We start by having grandma read him some stories, but discover it doesn’t count. Looking at the requirement it’s to have an ADULT read to him for 2 hours. Apparently elders don’t count, which is just silly.

Miranda finally gets an audition for a roll in a movie. She needs to be fit, so she works hard on the treadmill at home. Soon she has her fitness to a level that will be acceptable for the movie.

Abby comes home with a new promotion and she is now a getaway driver. That means she is up to level 7 in the career and only needs 3 more levels. She is working on level 8 mischief.

More games of chess out of the way and not only has Frank raised his mental skill, but we have already reached the initial milestone and get to work on the next milestone. Abby also is able to work her mischief with Frank, who laughs at her.

It’s someone’s birthday today….who could it be?

Why it’s Abby’s adult birthday. Miranda had her birthday a bit ago, but we didn’t remember in time to make her a cake. Luckily she didn’t mind, and Abby blows out her candles.

Kiana seems to have mostly forgiven Miranda for having a boy, and they chat along with Frank in the kitchen.

Kiana: Frank is a sweet boy and there still may be time to keep the line intact.

I am sure there will be Kiana, but Frank will be a good heir if it comes to that.

With that I believe this update has probably gotten long enough and we will wrap up this update. Miranda did get her part in the movie and we will see how she does with that next time.

EPIC Tripp: Crossroads – 5.03

Post 5.02 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 5.04

Welcome back for some more adventures of the Tripp family. As you may remember we are almost 1/2 way through this challenge as it is 10 generations and we are right in the thick of generation 5. Hard to believe.

We are early awaiting the birth of Miranda and Abby’s child. Last time we had some promotions, followed Miranda to work and had other fun just hanging out with the family. We also had a bit of an eerie message from Kiana. Let’s see where we are at in goals.

Generation 5 – Crossroads: Criminal vs Law Enforcement

  • Heir(ess) has a choice between the Criminal or Secret agent career.
  • Spouse can ONLY choose one of the previously unlocked careers.

So Abby, of course, is in the criminal career, and Miranda joined the Acting career. Abby is working her way up to boss, and Miranda joined the agency that is run by Abby’s current boss (or at least that’s our story, and we are sticking to it.)

We are going to start off right away with the birth of the new Tripp. Excited to see the new baby.

Suddenly Kiana’s message becomes clear. It’s a boy….the matriarchy is broken. I realized after the birth that I had been so caught up in keeping up with everything I had completely forgotten to feed Miranda strawberries. Well all the more reason to get Abby to the top of the career, maybe they can have more kids.

Anyway, regardless of all that, this is Frank. He clearly got Abby’s coloring, but beyond that we will have to wait for him to grow up more in order to see who he takes after.

Frank is named for Frank Costello, mob boss in New York during the 1920’s and 30’s.

It also happened to be Spring Fling and the eggs were all found this year. So there is a nice display of them in the toddlers “room.”

Lindsey was out tonight and spent some time talking with her granddaughter. Abby also took the opportunity to cause a little mischief. Typically people don’t get upset by Impersonating Mermaids, so she does that with most of the family.

Miranda: You promised me Abby!

Abby: Aaaak, I know, I’m working on it, but I’m not the boss yet, I can’t just get you ANY audition yet.

Miranda: You promised I’d be a star.

Abby: I know, and you will, I just need more time to move up the ladder a bit more.

Lara continues to work on her body building aspiration. We still needed to work out a few hours so onto the treadmill she went. She’s clearly getting pretty good.

And it was enough for her to reach another milestone. All we need now is the muscle density or whatever they call it. That one is likely going to take some time. I have already fed Lara and Zygo some youth potions. I’m not ready to let them go yet, and I would really like Zygo to reach the top of his career.

Kiana: This is an unusual plant.

Yes it is. It’s from Sixam, which is a alien world Lara has traveled to.

Kiana: Is this Sixam the reason things became broken?

I don’t think so, I just wasn’t paying enough attention that’s all.

Happy Birthday Frank. Welcome to toddlerhood. He is a cutie, and he got his mom’s same hair, and color as well. I think he’s mostly Abby actually, but he is cute.

Here’s a closer look at him. He got the Clingy trait, so that should be fun. Hopefully we’ll be able to get all his skills in.

Miranda got invited to what I figured out is basically a roast, so she brought Abby with her. This gave Abby a whole bunch of people to do mischief interactions with who didn’t necessarily hate them. I did crack up at the outfit Caleb is wearing back there.

Back at home grandpa and Frank sit down for some food. Frank is a little cutie, and I don’t think I changed most of his outfits at all. It’s time to get him started on skills after food though.

Awww, Johnny gives his granddaughter a hug. If I remember correctly he never got to meet Lindsey in life, although maybe when she was a baby. I think he was gone fairly early.

I didn’t capture all of the skilling little Frank was working on, but grandma Lara is there to read him off to sleep. Even if I lose the points for the matriarchy, which I’ll be sad if I do, Frank is a cutie and would make a good heir regardless.

Gaining mischief without a computer and/or ruining family relationships isn’t that easy. So we buy Abby the last two mischief books and she starts to read. Frank uses the time to watch her and gain some thinking.

When Frank asked Miranda to play I wasn’t sure what her response would be. She is evil and mean, but to her own son she would give the world, and in fact, intends too if Abby will ever make her a star.

It’s TV premier night and this is the first year we’ve been able to participate. Abby is at work I believe, and unable to join the rest of the family in veggie burgers and TV watching. Miranda watches enough and then heads to bed while Belle is out and joins in.

Zygo comes down with a sickness of some kind and ends up needing to drink some OJ to feel better. Poor guy was pretty miserable for a bit.

So I realized after a bit that Miranda missed her gig because she was having Frank. So we cancel that gig and get another one. Then she works some more with the bees. She’s tired of getting stung.

After that it’s time for Frank to have a bath. Frank is doing well on skills, he’s got at least 2 levels in each skill I believe and he is usually left to his own devices as I work everyone aspirations and careers.

It’s love day and these two are as in much love as they ever were. Zygo spends time professing is undying love to Lara, and they exchange roses. Abby and Miranda get through enough romantic interactions that Love Day is a success for all, but I apparently missed the pictures.

Lara has the Seldom Sleepy trait so she sleeps at random hours for random intervals, just enough to not be sleepy. That means she can talk much more often with the family ghosts. Ferd, her father, is out tonight and they talk.

I keep forgetting to fill in the “gap” with a chair, so it always looks like people are sitting so far away from each other. Abby is still working on her mischief points, and needs to be level 7, I believe for the next promotion.

Patchy spends some time chatting with Frank. This is actually our Patchy and he has started getting down from the tree again, so I’m not sure what was happening before, but it seems to be resolved itself.

Zygo occasionally sends off the bees to bring him back presents, and wouldn’t you now it, but they brought back the final statue needed to complete the collection. That’s another on marked down and completed.

With that I think we will end this update. Next time hopefully both Abby and Miranda will make progress on their careers and maybe even Zygo will too.

EPIC Tripp: Crossroads – 5.02

Post 5.01 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 5.03

Welcome back to EPIC Tripp. We have been zooming along through our EPIC generations so far, and are working on generation 5 already. So hard to believe. So last entry we had a had a trip to the jungle where Abby met the woman who would be her spouse and then we had a wedding, welcoming Miranda to the family. Let’s take a look at what this generation entails.

Generation 5 – Crossroads: Criminal vs Law Enforcement

  • Heir(ess) has a choice between the Criminal or Secret agent career.
  • Spouse can ONLY choose one of the previously unlocked careers.
  • If heir(ess) chooses the Secret Agent track
    • Every child born afterwards will need to be given the Self-Assured trait, until a future heir(ess) (generation 9) reaches the top of the criminal.
    • Secret agent track allows sims to purchase and use tablets.
    • Proceed to generation 6-a
  • IF HEIR(ESS) CHOOSES DETECTIVE: Detectives can choose to have high morals, which would conform with track A, or they can choose the more under-handed road, which would designate them onto track B. Less ethical detectives (the B track) are those who bribe or beat up sims for information, rather than befriending them. They steal objects from others and claim them as “evidence,” and blackmail other sims.
    • Performing any of these actions forces the challenge onto the B track.
    • Avoiding these and taking the high road allows the challenge to enter track A.
  • Whichever kind of detective the heir(ess) decides to be has an effect on what kind of job his/her spouse must take.
    • Moral detectives cannot have criminal spouses.
    • Underhanded detectives cannot have law enforcement spouses.

So last time we made the decision on which path Abby would take. Due to her Kleptomanic trait and the fact that Miranda is Evil and Mean it was decided that we would take the Criminal tract. No special agents either, I decided to go the basic criminal track, so all kids will be evil, but they can have as many as they want once Abby reaches the top.

After Winterfest Lara got a bit of a cold. Her grandfather, Francis, was out haunting and talked with her a bit. She went and got some OJ and started feeling better.

We get news that Miranda is pregnant! YAY, a new little Tripp is on the way. Generation 6 will be here before we know it. This is also the generation where we can have multiples if Abby can work her way up the ladder.

Miranda heads out to tell Abby. They are both very excited about this turn of events. There feels like there is always so much to do around here now that I sort of lose track of time a bit.

And it was Lara’s birthday before we knew it. Hard to believe she’s already an elder. Lara you have done very well for this family. We will miss you, but enjoy your elder years. She retires from being an Athlete.

Miranda heads out to feed the cow plant. We’ve got to keep him happy and fed so he doesn’t eat anyone by accident. You can see Lara is the trees back there working on harvesting everything.

Abby continues to work on her aspiration by grilling up some food. She needs to do more of this, but we will get there eventually. Lara comes out to chat with her while she works.

Abby comes home after that first day of work and gets a promotion. Mischief is a bit hard to build quickly without a computer, but so far we are managing ok for now.

Late one evening Lara got up and wandered upstairs. When I went to check where she was heading I saw she was heading up to watch her grandma Belle play on the violin. I don’t blame her, I love watching Belle play.

Miranda invites over the director for her first commercial and chats with him for a bit. Surprisingly, when left to her own devices, she actually is friendly and nice to him. I thought she was supposed to be mean.

The day of her first gig comes and Miranda heads into hair and make-up for the first time. I’m not sure I love Miranda in red hair, but it doesn’t look bad on her. She already looks the part of the diva.

Into costume she goes. Good thing they gave her a lose dress, although I’m sure they belts had to be let out a bit. Already her back hurts and she is ready to be done with the day, but we still have some steps left to go.

She needs to spend a bit more time practicing her “acting” so she takes care of that in the mirror in costume’s shop. I’m sure the costume people are not happy about it, but I also don’t think Miranda probably cares.

After grabbing some food and checking in with the director we are almost ready to go. Miranda is getting super tired so I want to get through these before she goes passing out on me.

She plays a risky song, and shows off the product riskily, but sings safely. She’s never worked on her singing so I wanted to make sure she did well. She completes the gig and gets herself a promotion at the same time. Her agency sends a snarky message about being surprised she did well, so Abby will need to have a chat with them.

Before then though she has a chat with her mom, and pulls some mischief things with her too, like impersonating a mermaid, which doesn’t bother anyone in this family. It’s been a good way to build up some mischief skill right now.

I forgot it was new years this day. At midnight Zygo and Lara share a little kiss. Abby was busy eating so she didn’t come over and give Miranda a kiss, but it was a good new years over all.

Awww, look who else came out haunting. It’s our founders Kynzie and Johnny. They celebrate new years with the family as well.

Kiana: That one will break it.

Kiana, what are you talking about.

Kiana: She will break it.

Ok….well, I guess she doesn’t feel like sharing more information about what that means at the moment. Hopefully Abby and Miranda can continue to progress quickly in their careers. Zygo is still sitting around level 7 in his career, I really need to spend more time with him at his job and be more successful.

That feels like a good place to end this update. Next time we will meet the new baby more than likely and we will see if Abby and Miranda can progress any further in their careers.

EPIC Tripp: Crossroads – 5.01

Wrap 4 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 5.02

Hello and welcome back to the EPIC Tripp! We are starting on generation 5 already. It’s so hard to believe that we are nearly 1/2 way through this challenge. That last generation went so fast, but they were very successful. So let’s get this started by looking at our goals for this generation.

Generation 5 – Crossroads: Criminal vs Law Enforcement

  • Heir(ess) has a choice between the Criminal or Secret agent career.
  • Spouse can ONLY choose one of the previously unlocked careers.

This is the generation where we make a choice. Now Abby never rolled anything that specifically pointed one direction or the other, however, she is a kleptomaniac so she is likely on her way to criminal, but we will see what happens. Let’s get to it.

Right after Abby’s birthday we send the family to the jungle. Lara still needs to finish up the jungle adventure aspiration and we are still looking for the last of those fossils.

Lara heads into the jungle and gets herself to the temple without any issues. She checked for any fossils and didn’t find either of the 2 we are currently missing. I hope I can find them at some point.

She does, however, earn her aspiration. Apparently this is not the picture of that, but it happened at the same time. That means Lara has completed two aspirations and now gets the body builder aspiration as well.

Abby is also here, and while Lara has been running around the jungle Abby has been meeting the young adults around town. This girl, Miranda, is really pretty and Abby works to get to know her.

They hit it off better than Abby does with anyone else. We get to know Miranda and discover she is Evil, she is also Mean. Now I know that isn’t a great combination, but I was leaning towards sending Abby into the Criminal career and an evil spouse would make that perfect.

So Abby invites her back to the vacation house. They both look like they are up to something in this photo, which is too funny. We also learn Miranda’s last trait is cheerful. That’s quite the combo.

Yes, things seem to be going very well indeed. First kiss is had and we are officially going to try and get Miranda into the family. I might regret this, but since she’s controllable, I’ll hopefully be ok with this mean/evil sim.

So we take the chance with Abby, and…..rejection. Well to be fair, it was super early in the morning, everyone was tired, and I should not have tried this before they got some sleep. We’ll try again later.

The next morning Abby and her mom talk with each other in the kitchen. Everyone got some sleep and is feeling much better. Some food is cooked up so the family can eat together before we try this proposal again.

This time it’s a success! A wedding party will be thrown once we get back home from this trip so these two can get married, but for now, we will wrap up our trip to the jungle.

Not before a bit of a celebration, and a bit of sickness for poor Lara. She came down with some sort of bug, so it’s time to get the family home.

Back at home Abby takes a job in the criminal field. That means every child will have to have the evil trait, and once Abby reaches the top of the career we can have additional kids. We will also be following path B from here on out.

The first thing Abby needed to do for work was get her mischief up. From reading, I believe it was Salem’s blog, I learned that kids laugh off mischief interactions we send Abby to the park. Mischief Managed.

Zygo manages to bread the final frog we needed in order to complete the collection. That is another collection down and the plaque is placed with all of the frogs up on the balcony.

It’s a night of early generation hauntings as both Kiana and Belle are out tonight.

Kiana: Allow me to clear some of these dishes, how on earth do they keep this house clean?

It’s much bigger than the one you had when you started out isn’t it?

Kiana: Oh my yes, but it’s wonderful. My family has done so well.

Belle: Yes, it is so nice to see them being so successful still.

You two got them off on the right track for sure!

Since Lara needs to work out on a gym we send her and Abby to one of the gyms around the world and get Lara through her first milestone. Lara has, by far, been my most successful sim for sure.

Back at home it’s wedding time. Miranda and Abby look lovely in their dresses and the wedding party is a lot of fun. No goals or anything this time, just a nice party at the Sulani local hangout.

Back at home, I am surprised by Zygo having a birthday. I had completely forgotten I had received his birthday notice. It seems to early, and he hasn’t accomplished nearly as much as I would have hoped, still only sitting at level 7 in the science career. I should make more of an effort.

Happy Winterfest from the Tripp’s! It was a lovely holiday and a decision was made regarding what Miranda would do for her job. She was already in the Criminal career, but that is Abby’s to take on. Since Abby will be working towards being a crime boss, I decided it would be fun to have Miranda in the acting gig. So she gets herself an agency (which I like to believe is controlled by Abby’s bosses, and one day Abby) and prepares to enter acting.

Miranda’s first gig is something that requires music. Since her aspiration is musical genius (like Belle before her) I go ahead and leave it, and Miranda picks up the guitar. She isn’t going to go the violin route, not for that you need actual talent. Here Miranda will make it on her good looks, decent voice, and the ability to pluck a guitar adequately. Abby will use her connections to ensure Miranda is a success, as any true criminal would.

I think I’m going to call this update a wrap here. It’s been fun getting these two together, and I have a whole lot of ideas in my head for how this evil, mean (read temperamental) wanna be actress is going to make it big thanks to her criminal mastermind spouse. We’ll see how it actually plays out later. Hope you enjoyed this update!

EPIC Tripp: Sports & Entertainment Wrap

Post 4.06 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 5.01

It doesn’t seem that long ago to me that I was writing up the Generation 3 Wrap and here I am writing up Generation 4’s. Lara has done a wonderful job getting us through this generation and it’s now up to Abby to take the reigns.

Lara had joined the athletic career this generation and Zygo took on the science career that was unlocked last generation. So let’s take a look back and what the goals were, what we accomplished, count up some points, and look ahead.

Generation 4 – Sports & Entertainment

  • Your heir(ess) has a choice between the Entertainment, Acting, or Athletic career.
  • The spouse may work in the field the heir(ess) did not choose, or any of the previously unlocked professions.
  • Once the heir(ess) has reached the top of the entertainment, acting, or athletic career – televisions, cameras, and arcade games are able to be purchased and used, as are workout machines.

There were no mini-challenges for this generation and the first 2 bullets were done right away, since there wasn’t much to work on. Lara, as you should remember just finished up the final bullet point, unlocking TV’s, cameras, and arcade games as well as other workout equipment.

So we also have all the selected mini-challenges. We know I removed one of them, but let’s take a quick look.

Selected Mini-Challenges

Roll the Dice: Give yourself 5 extra points if you randomize traits of all children for the whole challenge (minus the required traits following the crossroads). You can still do this mini-challenge if you choose to have a passed-down family trait, as long as you roll for all the rest of the traits besides the family trait.

“Every family has one…”: This mini challenge is in addition to the Roll the Dice challenge. Give yourself 1 point for each sim who rolls the Erratic trait.

“No well-behaved woman ever made history.”: Can you make your challenge into a Matriarchy? Must use strawberries to try and give birth to girls so each generation can have an heiress. The use of mods to tamper with gender does not count! 10 points

Gnome Mania: Give yourself one point for each gnome on the family lot by the end of the challenge. Additionally, give yourself one point for each TYPE of gnome the family has collected. These are the gnomes you will receive during HarvestFest so do not cancel the holiday!

Hoarder: An extra 10 points for each completed collection the family has ON the lot at the end of the challenge.

Doing it the Hard Way: Give yourself 10 points if you did not use any aspiration rewards during the challenge.

Creature Comforts: 3 points for each type of creature which joins your family’s household at any point in the challenge (Ghost, Vampire, Alien).

DIY: No handyman may be called at any time during the challenge; all broken appliances, plumbing, and electronics must be fixed by someone in the household. No maid or butler may be hired. Nannies are not allowed, but daycare is – you have to work, after all. 5 points

Love the One You’re With: 5 points if all spouses are found within the town and not created for the heir(ess) in CAS.

So far we are doing good on the rest. We are rolling the dice, keeping with the matriarchy, holding onto our gnomes, working on collections, so far no creatures, but we will be working on it, no services people called, and every spouse has been a part of the game, no drop-ins for me.

So here is a look, before we get to points, at what our challenge is for this next generation. It’s where we get to “chose our own adventure” so to speak.

Generation 5 – Crossroads: Criminal vs Law Enforcement

  • Heir(ess) has a choice between the Criminal or Secret agent career.
  • Spouse can ONLY choose one of the previously unlocked careers.

This generation has a choice to make. When Abby grew up she didn’t get self-assured, evil, good, which would have probably made the choice up for me. She did, however, get kleptomaniac, which means she’s a bit of a thief, so she is likely going to go into Criminal and we will see where that takes us.

It should be fun to get started on this, and see how it goes. I have an idea of how I want to handle this, so I’m excited to see if I can make it work. Now that we have looked over all of those things lets see where we stand on point.

POINTS (SO FAR):

-5 for each restriction broken (-15 total) – I totally did this twice with the rooms, and then realized I had broken it once at the very beginning with food.

1 point per $100,000 the family has accrued (+9 total) (This family started killing it money wise, with money trees and jobs this time.)

– Abby:

Toddler Skill Points (5 Max per toddler)
– Belle: +5 Points (1 for Happy Toddler, 4 for maxed skills)
– Lindsey: +5 Points (Top-Notch Toddler)
– Lara: +5 Points (Top-Notch Toddler)
– Abby: +5 Points (Top-Notch Toddler)

Mini Challenges:
– Gen 1: No fridge +3 Points
– Gen 2: $1000 busking +3 Points
– Gen 3: Complete all totems +3 Points

Chosen Mini Challenges:
– Roll the Dice: +5 Points (if I keep to it)
– Every family has one: 0
– No well-behaved woman: +10 Points (if I keep to it)
– Gnome Mania (Types): +10 Points
– Gnome Mania (Total): +20 Points
– Hoarder: +10 Points (Geodes)
– Creature Comforts: 0
– DIY: +5 Points (if I keep to it)
– Love the One You’re With: +5 Points (if I keep to it)

Finishing the Challenge: 0

There are only 2 gnome types left in the game, so hopefully I will get some of those for HarvestFest sometime, but the number of them is growing. We completed our first collection and are very close to finishing up a few others, so hopefully that will happen soon as well. So far it seems like we are doing good for this challenge and I’m happy with my points so far.

EPIC Tripp: Sports & Entertainment – 4.06

Post 4.05 | Rules | Family Tree | Wrap 4

Hello to you all. Can you believe how much has already happened this gen? Also, this is going to be the final update of this generation. It’s gone so fast! All of the others have taken around 8 updates or more, but this generation took 6. Anyway let’s look at what is left on our goals.

Generation 4 – Sports & Entertainment

  • Once the heir(ess) has reached the top of the entertainment, acting, or athletic career – televisions, cameras, and arcade games are able to be purchased and used, as are workout machines.

So still just waiting for Lara to reach the top of Athletics, and then we get TV’s, which will be VERY exciting to have around here. Also some more workout equipment if we want it.

Last time, as just a very quick recap, Abby grew into a teen after completing a single aspiration, but she is almost through scouting. Zygo finished a 3rd aspiration (he is just flying through them now), and Lara worked. Let’s jump right back in now.

Lara has been doing enough bonding with the bees she is able to go out and collect honey, and oh look Patchy is coming to chat….or, well no, take a closer look, A Patchy is coming to chat, it’s not our Patchy who is still back on his tree.

After collecting honey Lara does laps around the pool. She is close to maxing out her fitness, which would give her nearly everything she needs to finish up the athletic career.

Later that day Lara gets a promotion and is now just one away from maxing this career and unlocking TV’s. It will be so nice to have TV’s, although I find I barely use them in other saves because I’m so use to not having them here.

I know this has all been about Lara so far, but she heads out and feeds the cow plant so it doesn’t die, or try and eat someone. This thing may get put into family inventory so we don’t have to keep dealing with it, but we’ll see. 6 full generations to go with it if we keep it.

So we have lined up all the collections that we have so far, partially so I don’t have to keep sorting through frogs to find the ones I still need to breed, and partially because we are missing some crystals and metals that we had found due to me not paying attention to what Zygo carried to work with him. So we have fossils and crystals on one side, then mental, the completed geodes, and frogs on the other.

I always get a little bit nervous when I see someone interacting with the cow, but don’t sorry Abby is just petting him. He’s a good cow plant so far, and as long as we keep feeding him it should be all good.

Family dinners are pretty quiet when it’s just the three of them. Lara is getting ready to head back to the jungle to find that final jungle fossil but also to work on her aspiration a bit more.

Lara searches and searches, but still no sign of the final fossil. She does get through another milestone, however, and now needs to search out treasures and special chests to get the next one. That will have to wait for the next trip.

Abby comes home promoted to the top of the lifeguard career. I had checked and while teen jobs are not specifically called out in the rules it was determined if they don’t break other rules (because they fit into what has been unlocked) it’s ok. Since lifeguards are fitness and water, and we have pools, I’m in the clear.

The romance festival was in town and since her parents had such luck meeting there we send Abby down. There are not many single young adults, male or female. Abby sits down with this group of ladies, and doesn’t talk to any of the guys…I think Abby is trying to tell me something.

Back home I have a heart attack the next morning when Zygo was eaten by the cow plant. Dang it, someone (me) forgot to feed it. Luckily Zygo was spit right back out. Whew!

There must have been something at that festival because Abby wakes up the next day sick, and drinks some OJ while chatting with Patchy. I’m not sure if this is our Patchy or not.

One of the things Lara needs to do for the Jungle Adventure aspiration is to activate totems 5 times. We get a rare crystal we had an extra of refined and stick it in the totem that gives us a skeleton helper. Because it’s a rare gem no one is afraid of it, and they are happy for the help.

Zygo continues to do decently at work. I really should follow him more often to start getting some promotions faster. I have to start remember to take everything I need with me.

The first milestone for Abby should be reachable now as a teen, if one of her parents helps her, so she hosts a Kava party. Zygo makes the Kava and everyone sits down for food and Kava, and toasting. It’s a good time and reaches gold easily.

Lara comes home with the party with her final promotion! We have officially finished the requirements for generation 4, and have unlocked TV’s and workout equipment. It’s very exciting!

That night Kiana and Ferdinando come out to haunt. Kiana never got to know Ferd in person while alive, since he is her grandson-in-law, but they can chat now.

Apparently someone forgot to feed the cow plant again though, and Kiana got gobbled up and spit back out. Can a ghost be eaten? I’m not really sure.

Back in the kitchen that morning preparations are being made. Lara is getting pretty good at the cooking, and mixes up the batter in a unique way. Zygo doesn’t work out, but you wouldn’t know it with as slim as he is. (He drank a slimming potion at work.)

With mom and dad there watching Abby blew out her candles and became a young adult. The generations are changing again, this time really quickly it feels like, but these last couple of generations have accomplished a lot. We’ll cover what all they accomplished in the wrap up coming next.

Post 4.04 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.06

Welcome back to another update of the Tripp. We are just blazing right along in terms of playing through this challenge and I’m so excited by how it’s going so far! I hope you are enjoying this story too.

Generation 4 – Sports & Entertainment

  • Once the heir(ess) has reached the top of the entertainment, acting, or athletic career – televisions, cameras, and arcade games are able to be purchased and used, as are workout machines.

As a quick refresher, not that we really probably need it, but all we are needing to finish this generation is for Lara to reach the top of her career. Then we unlock a lot of fun stuff….it will be nice to have a TV.

Last time we have a very subdued Christmas after losing Lindsey and Ferdinando, quite literally, in the same moment. We then celebrated Spring Fling, managed to get to Sixam and gather up the needed plants, and many of the geodes. We also finished the archeology collection, or rather the artifact one, we are still working on the other. So let’s jump right in.

We start off with little Abby reaching a milestone. She has already completed Whiz Kid, and is now working on Rambunctious Scamp. She is not going to make a second aspiration like her mom, but she is doing really well.

We come home to Lara getting a promotion. Way to go Lara. This put her one step closer to finishing up our coal. She went ahead and bought Great Kisser as it is a much faster way to get charisma built up, and since I threw out that mini-challenge I think it’s worth it.

We get a sweet message that Lara’s every faithful friend Cleo got married. We don’t really follow any other families here, especially since they only have one kid a time, but Cleo has been kind of like family.

Another day, and another day of work in the garden. Zygo is quite dressed up to be bonding with the bees, but whatever works for him I guess. We are getting better at keeping the bees happy.

As expected, Abby didn’t finish another milestone, but she is almost through her scouting time. She grew up lovely and I am waiting to see what she rolls to determine her path, since it will either be criminal or law enforcement.

She got a bit of a make-over. I actually really liked the way the hair she grew up in looked on her and so that got left alone. She rolled Kleptomaniac to go with Vegetarian. She seems to be leaning towards criminal with that trait, but we’ll see.

Right after that we get a notice that Cleo is now pregnant. I am excited to see what she has. Abby is too old to make it feasible that their kids get together, for as much fun as that would be, but still.

Zygo is doing well at his job too, and we even follow him there sometimes. Not always, but I would like to get him through his as well. I did discover, however, that he has probably used some of our discovered crystals without me really paying attention.

These two really do spend a lot of time together, and I believe this was Love Day, so they had an at home date. It was getting late and we didn’t want to do a whole date date. I didn’t even realize before you could do an at home date, read about it somewhere, so that you to whoever had that blog. 😀

All those money trees are really paying off now. Zygo has completed his 3rd aspiration. He’s gotten through The Curator, Mansion Barron and now Fabulously Wealthy. He now chooses Freelance Botanist, which shouldn’t be too hard to complete.

Our dear Belle decided to take laundry outside and do it in the wash basin. I leave this here for this specific purpose. Even though we have the washer and dryer inside, the ghosts helping out is so nice. I’m not sure why she is so mad here however.

Lara takes over extracting elements in the hopes of finding the final 2 we need. I’m sure I’ll need to analyze some things to figure out which ones to do, but I’ll get there.

Lara did take another trip to Sixam and we managed to get all the geodes needed! Collection complete, which is wonderful. There are so many that are really tough to get done, so these “easy” ones are nice.

So I forgot to mention, Abby got the Beach Life aspiration to start with. I figured, she’s on the beach, we might as well let her get it done. Part of what she needs to do is get a suntan. Not so easy to tell with her, but she burns instead.

We have been working on getting the sugar skulls, I think we got one new one, putting us up to 5 unique ones I believe. I could have that wrong, we may only be at 4 though, but I think that’s right.

Good ol’ Patchy is, of course, still around and he enjoys chatting it up with the family. He has become less of a help since Zygo has been getting up there in gardening. Lara is too actually, and since we’ve followed Zygo to work a few times he takes the opportunity to come out when he can.

Abby finishes up scouting and takes a job as a Lifeguard. I realized later I wasn’t sure if this broke the rules, but figured lifeguard is all fitness related, and we have pools now I don’t think it’s an issue, but I will ask an deduct if needed.

I had Abby start working in the garden, but the bees were attacking her so we have her start bonding with them. Lara, Abby, and Zygo have been working diligently since this to bond with the bees.

Cleo calls and invites Lara to a dance party. You can see them in the back of this picture just barely, and you can JUST make out another guest back there who surprised me by being here.

Lara’s mom and dad were here boogieing down. They are pretty happy ghosts tonight and Lara and Cleo spend a little time talking with them. I’m happy to see them out together, it’s sweet that they are apparently just as in sync in death as they were in life.

Sigh, Abby, you are VEGETARIAN. Why are you grabbing both a vegetarian dish, AND frank and beans from the fridge?

Abby: What? Why is this weird?

Um…because frank and beans has meat….you know, the franks.

Abby: Well this one is for dad anyway.

I did finally get her to put the frank and beans down and Zygo did come grab it, but still.

Mom and daughter work on the school project together. Makes sense that Lara would be the person to help. This is a rocket ship project after all.

Oh look, Johnny is out to haunt tonight and manages to catch himself on fire. You are a ghost Johnny, how? How do you do this?

As a final note before we wrap up this update we get a notice that Cleo had a baby girl. Little Mia, welcome to the world.

I am going to call this update here, a lot, and yet, not much, has happened all at the same time. Lara needs two promotions, but has the needed skills ready for the first one so now it will just take a little time.

EPIC Tripp: Sports & Entertainment – 4.04

Post 4.03 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.05

It’s time for another Tripp….to visit the EPIC Tripp family. Ok, sorry, bad pun time, but it was fun for me. Ok guys, we are working on generation 4 of the EPIC challenge and here is what we are still working towards.

Generation 4 – Sports & Entertainment

  • Once the heir(ess) has reached the top of the entertainment, acting, or athletic career – televisions, cameras, and arcade games are able to be purchased and used, as are workout machines.

So really it’s all resting on Lara’s capable shoulders right now. She needs to reach the top of the Athletic career and then our goals are met. We also are working hard this generation on collection building. So let’s get to it.

We start with aliens visiting Lindsey. This is less scary then when they took Zygo, since she can’t get pregnant, but still. They seem to be visiting quite a bit lately.

Abby is working on her logic skills and great-grandma Belle comes to join her. I am wondering if Abby will get through multiple aspiration as well. She certainly is skilling up decently quickly, but with trips to the jungle coming up she might not.

Abby is quite the social little girl really. Since she is a vegetarian I’ve had the adults eat the last of the fish and meat dishes so they can start to cook exclusively veggie options for Abby. I don’t know if Patchy would approve or not. The garden will be nice to still have though.

Since Abby needs to be read too for a couple of house, grandpa Ferd obliges her. It takes a couple of books but then she has reached that milestone. Ferd is still working on the Fabulously Wealthy, but probably isn’t going to make it. We are about 50K off still.

Lara continues to work on the Rocket. Her nerd brain aspiration has been completed, but if we get the rocket fully upgraded we have the chance to get some of the other collection items we need.

She has, at least, maxed out her rocket science level now. That is excited, as she is the first sim to do that so far in any of my games. It’s fun to have the rocket ship.

Cleo is over visiting again and takes the trash out for us. Why thank you Cleo, that is very nice of you. They might not be friends according to the friendship panel, but she is over all the time and has been since she was a kid. I like Cleo.

The whole family sits down for a meal, and even Francis comes out and joins them. I do really like this little family they have right now. They are getting more and more successful all the time.

Abby gets up to autonomously hug her dad. It’s so cute when they do things like this all on their own. I love these guys!

The next day we take the family back to Oasis Springs. With the forgotten grotto opened we send Zygo in to collect things, and Ferd and Abby in to go fishing. Ferd makes some good catches this day, and the collection at home is growing.

Lara and Lindsey head back to the jungle. Lindsey would like to find that final vase she has been searching for her whole life. Lara would like to get the jungle adventure aspiration done. First she does a spot of fishing to catch the jungle fish though.

Doing all this excavating with her mom causes Lara to max out her archaeology aspiration. She still needs to max the Selvadoradian Culture one, however. Perhaps her dad and assist.

Back at the house Lindsey gets a start on uncovering all the dirt clumps that look like they could hold the vase we need. We aren’t authenticating, we can just send them out for that. I just want to know if they are vases.

Lara heads back out on her own, uses a gem on a totem she put together herself and gets through all the milestones. The only thing left for her to do is to get that culture skill up. She’s at level 4 of 5, so it shouldn’t be too hard. It’s now WinterFest though so they head home.

Where a horrible and unexpected thing happens. This shouldn’t have been TOTALLY unexpected, but I thought they had 1 more day. You can see Ferd in the living room, and Lindsey on the beach. They went at EXACTLY the same time. Laid down at the same time, everything.

I rush Lara out to plead for her mom. She wails and wails, but ultimately is denied by Grim. This is going to put a big damper on WinterFest. Lindsey and Ferd’s gravestone are moved to the garden to join the others.

The family comes together long enough to decorate the tree and ask for a gift from Santa. The traditional singing happens, but no one even wants to open presents. They just all go to bed early.

We did, however, get notice that we completed the collection. It’s placed with the rest, and the reward plaque you can see is up there by the display cabinet. At least that’s one fully completed.

It’s now Zygo’s birthday, so he makes himself a honey cake. Technically he made himself 2 honey cakes because he grabbed a piece of the first one before I was able to get candles on it. Zygo is officially an adult.

Abby works hard and completes her Whiz Kid aspiration. Way to go Abby! She starts on the Rambunctious Scam one next, without me remembering she needs to be playful and play on a playground. We’ll see if she makes it.

Lindsey isn’t gone for long, she is out haunting already and Lara is pretty glad to see her. I need to see if she can get more information about Selvadoradian Culture from her.

Lara has gotten into the Selvadoradian dancing, just like her mom had. She’s already pretty dang good, but being a dance machine that isn’t too crazy.

Abby works on her creativity and motor skills respectively. She is doing pretty well on both an I would love to have her get close to maxing out another one. I also have her working on her scouts badges.

Lara has upgraded the rocket enough to visit Sixam, so she goes and does a big collection run. I think I get all of the plants that she can get, we hit it at just the right time.

Spring Fling is here, which means it’s time for egg huts and chats with the flower bunny. Everyone had a good holiday and we didn’t push it on the finding of the eggs, but we got about 6 of them.

I also happened to be Lara’s birthday. She is also now, officially and adult. She is over 1/2 way through the athletic career, and has taken some time off for traveling and other things, so now it’s time to focus her on completing it.

Zygo completed two aspirations, getting the collector one finally done and then nearly instantly completing the mansion barron aspiration as well. He is now working on the Fabulously Wealthy one, but all of this let him buy another money tree, and a couple more traits.

This will end another update with the family. Abby will be a teenager soon and we will see how she starts doing there, and if she rolls a trait that determines which path she will take. She does have an A in school at this point, and is just working on those scout badges.

EPIC Tripp: Sports & Entertainment – 4.03

Post 4.02 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.04

Hello, long time no see, ok well not really. It was just a couple of day ago, but welcome back to the Tripp’s. This family has been doing really well and at the end of the last entry they had moved into a new house (keeping the 5 fully enclosed room’s rule.) We also had little Abby born and grow into a toddler.

Here is what is left for our goals this generation. There really isn’t much, but it will be nice to have some of these other items unlocked.

Generation 4 – Sports & Entertainment

  • Once the heir(ess) has reached the top of the entertainment, acting, or athletic career – televisions, cameras, and arcade games are able to be purchased and used, as are workout machines.

The exciting thing about this next generation, and for Abby, is she will have to make a choice. Maybe she will roll something in her traits that makes that choice obvious, but maybe not. We’ll have to see.

We start this update with the knowledge that moving to this new house, and the fact we bought some extra columns at the old house, has put Ferd over the edge of yet another aspiration. His next aspiration is Fabulously Wealthy. I will note that because I decided to not do the mini challenge regarding not using aspiration points, both Ferd and Lindsey got a life potion. I’m hoping to send Lindsey back to the jungle for the final vase if we can ever find it.

We offered another sugar skill and got this fabulously looking fellow as our celebrator. Eventually he gave us a skull. I believe that gives us 3 unique ones.

Then this happened! Yep, Zygo got taken by aliens. The good news is, he didn’t come back pregnant. Thank goodness, we do not need an uncontrollable toddler in this family.

After Zygo’s encounter he reads little Abby to sleep. Abby has been working hard on all of her skills, even though I haven’t taken very many pictures of her doing it.

Ferdinando comes home with his final promotion in the painter career. He maxed painting a while ago, but still was working on his career goal. He has now retired to help take care of Abby and finish his later years away.

Abby is a cute little girl, but doesn’t always get the attention she would like. Everyone is so busy working on other goals she spends a lot of her time jumping from babbling at the bear, to playing dolls, to the slide, to the potty, over and over again.

Ferdinando is really bonded with his bees. He can now send them out to bring presents home for him. So we do that and end up with a couple of postcards, and an element that we didn’t have before.

Lara gets another promotion and has finally reached the branching path of this career. She is going to go into the sports side and not the body builder side of this career. The problem with that is, she is supposed to study opponents, but she can’t without a TV or computer.

This night grandpa Ferd reads little Abby to sleep. I know you aren’t seeing much of her as a toddler, I’m not completely sure why I didn’t take very many pictures of her. I’m still getting a feel for the house.

We realized we hadn’t added gems to all the totems, so Lindsey gets to work on that. We need a few more gems before we can really get all of them done, but they are all put together just waiting for the gems now.

Lara and Zygo are very much in love. I do wish they could have more kids, but sadly they cannot. That doesn’t mean they can’t have fun together though, and they do, frequently!

This is the day I apparently had Lindsey and Ferd drink their youth potions. This gives you a nice look across the dining room into the music and collection area. We still need that one final vase, but are getting close to many collections.

Ferdinando is busy fishing and building up their collection. He has gotten many of the IL fish so far, I think they need 5 more maybe. They still need lots of others though too.

Zygo has also been working hard on bonding with the bees so he can continue to keep them happy once Ferd has passed on. Luckily that won’t be for awhile, but we are getting quite the stock of honey and are starting to sell a lot of it.

Lara is working on her logic skill. It’s the last thing she needs for her Nerd Brain aspiration. So she plays chess and her grandpa Francis visits with her. I love that so many of these family members are able to get to know their ancestors.

Grandma Lindsey takes over playing with Abby. I know I said many of the people are busy with their own stuff, but it doesn’t mean Abby is neglected. This gives you another good look across the kitchen but in the opposite direction.

Up on the terrace Zygo works on the microscope. We are attempting to see if we can get the plant pictures. I’m not sure if there is anything related to specific plants or anything, but we’ll keep trying.

Little Abby gets herself some fruit and eats it on her bed. She has almost maxed out most of her skills, and this good because her parents will be taking a trip soon right before her birthday.

Before that though, grandma is back on the case of helping little Abby with her movement. This house has so much space to allow for the toddler stuff to all be in one corner of the house, it’s so much easier.

A new day and another trip with Zygo to work. This day he worked on analyzing metals and crystals, and has also updated the frost gun to a transformation gun.

All this hard work is helping him head up the ranks further. I know he isn’t speeding along at his job yet, but we are getting pretty consistent work out of him.

This day Lara also maxed out her Nerd Brain aspiration. She has decided to do the Jungle Explorer aspiration, which means she will be heading back to the jungle soon.

Family dancing and eating are a great past time, and little Abby has all her needed skills to grow up. Before she does though I want to send Zygo and Lara to the jungle to see if we can find the last 2 fossils and the final artifact needed.

So off they head. They search and they excavate, but they don’t actually make it that far into the jungle on this trip. It was a fast trip and sadly, no new fossils and then elusive “common” vase are no where to be found. Once Abby is a child I’ll send Lara and Lindsey back.

When we get home Abby wakes up in the middle of the night and grows up. She is sad because we forgot her birthday, which also to happen to co-inside with HarvestFest, not our best holiday this time. Sorry Abby, you will be ok.

She gets a little make-over and looks a LOT like her dad in my opinion. She is rather pretty though, and she rolls the Vegetarian trait. Of course she does! She also gets the Whiz Kid aspiration, but did manage to get Top-Notch Toddler as well. Life so far is starting out pretty well for Abby, minus the forgotten birthday.

EPIC Tripp: Sports & Entertainment – 4.02

Post 4.01 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.03

Hello all. Welcome back to the Tripp’s and this crazy EPIC. Last time we started on Generation 4 of this 10 generation challenge. That means are getting close to being 1/2 way through it! That’s wild to me, and means I might actually finish it! Whoo! I started in July of last year, so while I know there isn’t likely anyway I can finish it within a year, I can probably finish it sometime this year.

So let’s gets started by taking a look at our goals for this generation.

So really there isn’t much to do here, just unlock the career and work on getting points for the mini-challenges. I decided to “abandon” the Doing It The Hard Way mini-challenge. I could keep going, but the points added (+10) do not outweigh the points gained by things like money, and money trees require aspiration points. So here we are.

Lara is working on eating strawberries. We want to keep that matriarchy alive.

Lara: An oracle came last night and said I would have a girl.

An oracle? Wait….was it a female ghost, kind of see through, hair in a bun on the top of her head?

Lara: Yeah, that sounds about right.

That is your….let’s see here, she would be your great-grandmother. That was Kiana. Just eat the strawberries still, please.

I am not sure why there is a 1/2 eaten, spoiled, sandwich sitting in front of Lara. She is getting huge, so maybe she was just REALLY hungry, but I’m pretty sure there is good food in the fridge!

Lara continues to work on the rocket. She is a nerd brain and needs to get this baby upgraded and lunched a few times. I’m kind of excited, since I’ve never tried to go to space yet.

Ferd finally finishes up his aspiration. It’s very exciting for him, and for us. He’s officially moved off of the painter extraordinaire and onto Mansion Barron. That does mean we need columns. Why are they in love with columns? Who has 20 columns anyway?

Lara wakes up in the middle of the night to let us all know, it’s time. The baby is coming. She is huge so we are hoping and praying for only 1 baby.

They head out into the “hallway” where Zygo is freaking out. I don’t always get pictures of the dad’s panicking about the labor. Lara seems so laid back about it all it’s so funny to see him this worried.

A relatively short time late the newest Tripp is born. She clearly has her dad’s skin tone, which is super excited to me. Yay genetic diversity in this family! She is given the name Abby.

Abby is named after Mary Abigail (Abby) Wambach. She is a well known US Soccer player, 2-time gold medalist, FIFA World Cup Champion, and part of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

I don’t know if I have ever listed why I have named all of the kids the way I have, so just for fun, here’s a quick breakdown.

Kiana – Founder and just a fun name. Gardening career.
Belle – Kiana’s daughter, named after Bluebell’s which grew in Kiana’s garden. Music career (violin)
Lindsay – Belle’s daughter, named after Lindsey Striling, famous violin player. Archeology career
Lara – Lindsey’s daughter, and named after Lara Croft, video game female archeologst. Athletic career.

So hopefully you see the pattern, whatever career their mom was in I try and find a famous or well known name associate to name her daughter. Ok, enough side tracked stuff.

While the bay was being born, Lindsey was out in the garden offering a sugar skull to one of the tombstones. This little kid was actually the celebrator. I believe he gave us a new skull.

I decided to follow Zygo to work the next day. I have a lot of things I want to find or get, but also want to see if we can get Zygo up his career, even though it doesn’t unlock anything for us. It’s kind of fun.

In fact he earns a promotion that day. Way to go Zygo. It’s not that we need the money at this point, but every little bit that he can progress through is that much more we can try and use later.

I follow him again the next day and he invents the freeze ray and has to use it on a co-worker. He also spends time just chatting with his co-workers as well.

Back at home Cleo has come over again and the girls spend time out in the pool. I was finally able to get them a pool since we unlocked plumbing and it will be good for building fitness.

Before anyone was likely ready for it, little Abby grew up into a toddler. She is so cute! She rolled the Independent trait and she got a little bit of a make-over, but I think I mostly left her alone.

Lara gets busy teaching Abby how to use the potty and since Abby is independent she will be able to do this a lot more all on her own I have learned. It’s pretty nice.

I took the family to one of the parks, since Lindsey had gotten to level 10 of handiness, it meant they could get into the grotto. It did take a few tires to get down there, but eventually Zygo made it. He found a few things, spent a tiny time fishing and then went home.

We will end this update with the family moving into a new house on Sulani. I decided we needed a larger yard, a bigger house, a new location and so here we are. You can see they have stayed at 5 rooms (2 enclosed bedrooms, 1 enclosed bathroom, and then the large room downstairs and the large room upstairs.) I actually add one more partial bedroom upstairs at the end of the hall with a half-wall entrance for a child, as the toddler room is downstairs.

EPIC Tripp: Sports & Entertainment – 4.01

Wrap 3 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.02

Hello and welcome back to the start of Generation 4 in this EPIC challenge. It’s very exciting that we are already up to gen 4, and hopefully we will continue to be successful.

The teen that Lara met at the romance festival is name Zygo, and he is a teen for a couple more days, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t get the relationship built up yet.

Lindsey has been working so hard on finding the final artifacts. She has one left to find. A vase. It’s a common vase, so you would think we should be able to find it. The family has been passing around the blessing of the ancients and apparently even ghosts can get it.

It was apparently the day for male ghosts to haunt as both Francis and Johnny were out together. I guess we were hosting guys night at the house.

Lara needs charisma and logic for either her aspiration or career. So while she is also jogging each day she is trying to get these other skill upgraded as quickly as possible.

Ferdinando is working his way up the career ladder and he is getting closer and closer to maxing out his painting career. I hope he can do it soon.

Kiana comes out and takes time to meet and get to know her great-granddaughter.

Kiana: She is lovely.

Yes, she is. She and her mother have brought us forward so much

Kiana: Indeed, this house has changed so much.

Zygo calls and asks if Lara wants to come to his birthday, and since that means he is turning into a YA we say yes. He comes over with a caterer. So apparently, we are where he’s hosting his party.

Happy Birthday to you Zygo. Lara is very happy to have Zygo as a YA now, and they are flirting, dancing, and kiss the rest of the day way.

Lara asks Zygo on a date and he readily accepts. The date goes swimmingly and they are soon agreeing to being boyfriend/girlfriend.

Lara decides it worth trying and drops to one knee to ask the most important question she has asked anyone. Fingers crossed.

He says yes, of course. He has been smitten with her since the romance festival. So we invite over Cleo and Zygo the next day to have a quick wedding at the family home.

Here is a look at Zygo after a bit of a make-over, although we didn’t change too much. He is going into the Scientist career. He is Outgoing, Child of the Ocean and Squeamish. Which means we have another squeamish sim, and he gets sad at the mounted fish. This could be fun.

One of the first things Zygo does is head out to the microscope and starts working on getting a breakthrough. Which he does shortly after.

With so many things getting unlocked it was time to make some adjustments to the yard again. We have added a pool and set up a space for the rocket. We also added the rest of the garden boxes for what will hopefully be our expanded plants soon enough.

Johnny’s after life must be getting to him from time to time, as he decided to take a bubble bath, and put some cucumbers on his eyes. I find this quite funny.

Lara and Zygo wasted no time getting pregnant and Lara shares the news the next morning. He is surprised, but happy about the news.

Lara gets started on building the rocket, as she needs to upgrade and/or launch in about 5 times to meet her nerd brain aspiration.

Then, a very quick trip to the jungle is had as we still need that final vase. Sadly, this trip didn’t result in finding that vase either. We went through about 7 of them, but no such luck.

Zygo, even though I missed the noticed, got a second breakthrough and decides to celebrate. I hope the bar doesn’t become a primary place for him to go.

Then, I might not have been ready, but it was time for another set of birthdays. Lindsey and Ferdinando were growing up again. They were now elders and each have about 9 days left. I shall miss them dearly.

Lara, however, comes home with a promotion. It sort of cracks me up that she looks like a “cheerleader in trouble.” as the sentiment might go. I’m happy that she is already gaining some promotions.

With that last look I think we will call this update. Lara and Zygo will have their baby next time, and we will hope it’s another girl. Lara is slowly working towards her aspiration, as is Zygo. We still need that final vase, so another trip back to the jungle will probably happen soon.
