Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 15

Previous Chapter | To Sweet Lips

Hello and welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge with Tara, Robin, and Cadbury. The last time we saw the family, Tara aged up into an elder, she continued to try and win a SimScuffle tournament, we found the space bunny, and the boys ran their Snacky Shack. Let’s dig back in!

Week 15+

When we join the family, Tara is practicing some SimScuffle again. In the last post, you might remember, I felt like I landed on a potential reason why I wasn’t winning this before, and that you actually want to be very confident, rather than very focused.

Robin is getting ready to start his next semester of classes, and this time he has a presentation to give. So Robin gets started working on that, gathering up the information. He’ll edit it later.

Cad is out running the Snack Shack, and they have a really good day of sales. Cad is quite the entrepreneur with this little shack, and I’m glad I bought it!

Tara tried a new tournament and got second place again. I have switched up some of the decor, but very confident is actually a more difficult mood to get than very focused.

Tara either opens the stand or Robin does, and Tara heads out to see how he’s doing. We still have mostly a bunch of Voidcritter cards, and we will have more since we still need one card to finish the collection.

Tara continues to practice the SimScuffle game, since it seems that if she doesn’t keep playing, she will lose the “skill” in the game, which makes sense. Real games can be like that.

I then sent Tara fishing, although I could not tell you why. This didn’t really serve much of a purpose, as we can’t get anything we still need from fishing.

Back at home, Robin unlocks the Spacebender mastery perk, so he is able to teleport around a bit more easily, if he wants to. I could see that being useful for being in university.

Cad has managed to fill two of the four nectar stands already. He also has a good start on the 3rd, with it being about 1/2 full. My goal is to have all 4 full by the end, but also sell some of the finely aged nectar.

I had Tara buy herself a confident potion, which put her in a very confident mood, and sure enough, that did the trick! Tara won a SimScuffle tournament, and I have officially gotten Tara through all of the video game tournaments!

The Snacky Shack is also pretty successful, getting over 2K in sales. It’s pretty crazy how much we can sell popcorn, candy, and drinks for.

Now that her video game requirements are done, there are only a couple more easter eggs for us to find. We can complete the Voidcritter collection, and Tara can max out her mischief skill, since we have had a voodoo doll for a while. So Tara hatches a plan with Robin.

Tara tries to paint another easter egg painting, not that we need to, since we have all 5, but just in case anyone wants to argue that the cans are not meant to be Warhol.

Cad manages to max out his video game skills already. He’s quite young, and I don’t really remember him spending that much time gaming when he was younger, but he must have!

Once he’s completed that, it’s time to open the Snacky Shack again. It’s a partial sale day today, because I forgot we had plans this afternoon.

Robin has needed to attend some guest lecture’s which he has done a couple of times, but today he comes to the campus with his family. Cad and Robin play some table tennis first.

While the boys play, Tara decides to go prank the toilets and sabotage a few things. It won’t do much since we don’t stay on this lot, but it at least brings Tara’s mischief up to 9. Everyone attends a guest lecture, just cause, before heading home.

When we get home, Cad needs to work on the garden. His poor plants are in pretty rough shape right now. Being a plant lover, he doesn’t like to see his plants so gloomy.

Tara decides to open up her table to sell some more honey and some more Voidcritter cards. We are never going to get through all of this inventory.

Tara comes out with some food to spend time with Cad. She’s been so deep in gaming for so long that she almost doesn’t recognize her own kids, but they have helped her a lot in this journey.

Since Tara needs to continue to grow her mischief skill, we bought her a telescope to spy on the neighborhood with. She also needs to raise her logic for her aspiration, so it has a double benefit.

Cad is out prepping the Snacky Shack for another sale, this time with less candy and a few more drinks, since some are about to go off. It was a pretty good sale for what they had set out.

Night arrives, and Tara heads out to use the telescope for less mischievous things. She does get a notice about a meteor, though, and heads back inside. We aren’t ending this challenge with a meteor when we are this close.

Once the Snacky Shack is finished with its sale for the evening, Cad spends a bit of time with Thimble. He’s only infected one member of this family with fever and is a good little hedgehog.

Robin is hard at work, most of the time, on his classes and homework. He gets the chance to open up the Voicdcritter and honey stand and gets a few more items sold in the process.

Cad continues to take good care of his garden, and when there are weeds to pull, he goes and takes care of them. He does, occasionally, get sad about hurting the weeds, though, because he just loves all plants so much.

Tara’s turn to open the stand she started so many sim days ago. We are trying to sell as many of these duplicate Voidcritter cards we’ve been collecting, but we just seem to open more than we can sell.

Cad has been successful with his nectar and has filled the third storage rack. He’s been able to sell a few finely aged bottles as well, but we are holding one back. He’s also still very active, and if he doesn’t get a run in sometimes, he gets tense.

Tara supports both of her boys, but Robin felt extra supported, and they got the supportive dynamic. I do love it when parents get this one.

Robin was sent to take in another guest lecture, and that completes his milestone. He won’t complete this aspiration before the end of the challenge, but it’s been nice to make progress.

Cad opens up the Snacky Shack and makes an impressive amount of money. Three thousand is a lot for a snack shop. Those galaxy cotton candies are really lucrative!

Robin got his grades back, and he did a fantastic job in school this semester, getting all A’s. With only 2 classes, that isn’t exactly shocking, but still good. He went ahead and got 2 more classes.

We FINALLY completed the Voidcritter collection, after opening many, many packs. That gives us 35 points!

Tara spends some time playing chess with Cad to work on her logic some more, and Robin joins them, working on the new semester’s homework.

That night, even though it’s late, Tara opens up the stand. I believe we lowered the pricing, so they should sell a bit faster. We still have almost no chance of getting all of it sold, but that’s ok.

Robin has a new presentation for this semester, so he quickly gets started on gathering up the information. We won’t get through another full semester, but that’s ok.

Tara is back to sell some of the stock on her stand. You can see we had picked up quite a crowd. There are going to be a lot of families with Voidcritter cards in their inventories.

Tara is still trying to paint a new easter egg painting. This one very well might be, but I don’t know of a specific example. Cad is also enjoying the gaming mat.

It’s not a TV premiere day, but the whole family actually sits down to watch the TV. That’s pretty rare for this family, but we are quickly wrapping up all of our goals.

Tara doesn’t need much sleep, thanks to the Seldom Sleepy trait we purchased a long time ago. That means her evenings now consist of using the telescope and the selling table to try and deplete more of the stock.

The boys continue to work on their own aspirations. Robin, of course, is working hard on his classes, and Cad is working in the garden. He’s gotten pretty close with the bees.

Tara finally paints a new easter egg painting. This is very much meant to be A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat. It’s a very close replication, and that will give us an “official” 5+ easter egg paintings.

Cad and Robin hang out quite a bit when they have downtime, and Cad helps Robin decide he likes jokes. I mean, sure, you can like jokes; jokes are fun.

I cannot, for the life of me, remember why I sent Robin out to collect crystals. It might have been to see if we could find any to sell, since crystals are obviously better than Voidcritter cards.

Cad is the one to open up the stand today, and Tara does some more moongazing. I’m so glad we have a smaller telescope. Not that this family doesn’t have room for a larger one.

We have almost finished all of the goals; it’s really just down to Tara now. That means I’m kind of speeding through a lot of days, and Robin and Cad try and complete wishes to get aspiration points, while Tara tries to sell some more to gain additional money.

Tara chats with Cad as he prepares to open the Snacky Shack again. He has another decent sales day, but we do have some items that are almost “bad,” so we need to get them sold soon.

The Hijinks festival is in town, so the family heads into the city. This is the perfect place for Tara to spend time honing her mischief a bit more. We don’t manage to level it up completely, but we are closer.

Tara and Robin share some breakfast. I’m realizing I probably could have split this update, but we are so close to the end.

Tara had a bunch of updates altogether. First, she finished the Nerd Brain aspiration. After rolling for a new one, she got Eco Innovator, which she isn’t going to try and complete. Especially since we have the notice that it’s almost her time. She also likes Cerebral Sims.

Tara is determined to finish up the final goal, so we head to the park. She introduced herself to a bunch of sims and found someone to bind her voodoo doll to.

With a couple of interactions, she maxes out the mischief skill. I nearly missed the notice, unfortunately, but you can still make it out. That means she completed the final goal and got another 25 points.

Tara goes home and is back to selling at the selling stand. She cooks some meals for her boys. She has had a very successful life, and we are mostly just waiting for her time to come now.

Cad completed his goal, too! He has fully filled all of the nectar racks in his room. That’s a lot of nectar!

Robin goes out to open the Snacky Shack. It’s actually opened a couple of times in a row to clear out their inventory. Both sales go really well, and the Snacky Shack is basically closed.

Cad had saved back a finely aged bottle of excellent blackberry nectar, and he served it to the family. They sit together and celebrate Tara’s life and all they have accomplished.

It was a little much for Cad, apparently, who decided to take his nectar to the bath. It was easier to brood in there, I guess.

Tara goes out to open the stand again and tries to sell a few more items. It’s been a long challenge, and they had a lot in their inventory to sell off.

Tara came back in feeling rather sick, and the poor thing got really “drunk”, apparently on the blackberry nectar, and went to bed not feeling so great.

The next morning, she is feeling much better. Apparently, the boys decided that popcorn was the name of the game that morning.

Robin got to work on his term paper for the semester, and he ended up getting the skillful sleep mastery perk. It seems everyone gets that one.

I had COMPLETELY forgotten it was the boy’s birthday today. Cad spun and then Robin into adults. I totally missed their birthday notice, but that’s all right.

Poor Tara, not feeling well again, stood up and let us know her time has come to an end.

The reaper showed up, and after a little while, he took Tara’s soul to the next life. Tara died of old age and completed all the goals I set out for her. It’s a bittersweet end to this challenge.

Tara lasted about 4 days into week 16, and I had hoped she might pass in her sleep, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Thank you so much for reading along, and I hope you enjoyed this challenge! Let’s take a look at the points.

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge! The last time we saw Tara, Robin, and Cad, they had built a greenhouse, Tara had won every video game challenge except for SimScuffle, Don had passed away, and Robin had started university. Let’s dig in!

Week 14

When we join the family, there is a party already in the works, and Tara is about ready to blow out her birthday candles. That’s right, Tara is becoming an elder (and had a bubbling age bar).

A very elegant Bella Goth cheers on Tara as she spins into elderhood. Happy Birthday, Tara!

The party continues on for quite a while once the cake is served, and I think everyone had a pretty good time. We did miss having Don around.

Tara finished all other games last week, so it’s down to SimScuffle. I already granted myself the points, since this is a specific pack game, but I’d still like to try and win, but so far, no luck.

The boys’ Snacky Shack is having some more luck, though, and their sales are steadily climbing, on average, little by little. Cad, having maxed his cooking skill, I believe, makes some high-quality candy.

Tara takes another trip into space, hoping to find the elusive space bunny, but no such luck yet. Still, she arrives back safe and with the rocket in one piece.

Cad has really gotten into video gaming lately, and uses the gaming mat as a bit of a break from the nectar making and selling. The boys really do keep very busy.

It might have been an evening/night sale, but the stand did the best it ever has, I think. The idea that they sold candy and popcorn variants for over 2k is pretty wild. Way to go, boys!

Robin has decided to be the opposite of his brother and be Romantic. Cad, if you remember, is romantically reserved, but I said, why not? So Robin is now romantic.

Cad is back to making nectar, and he has decided he likes this nectar-making thing. That’s good, since it’s his aspiration and we plan to do our best to fulfill most of it if!

Cad has filled one entire rack and is over halfway through another rack of nectar slowly aging in their room. We will have a couple of bottles of finely aged nectar before too long.

Tara sits down to try SimScuffle again, and I decide to look a little further into this game. There isn’t any information specifically about SimScuffle that I can find. It is the game that came with DU. So, that means it’s the game the eSports team uses. The ideal mood for the team is Confident. That gives me an idea.

The food stand continues to grow its profits. It’s kind of amazing how much you can earn in candy. Granted, we are selling some pretty expensive candy, but still.

Tara practices with SimScuffle a bit more because we are heading out on a trip soon, and I don’t want her to lose all the progress towards this game!

We head back to Granite Falls, and FINALLY manage to find what we are looking for. They are called dust sprites, but they are based on the wandering soot from Spirited Away. Tara catches one, and we head home rather quickly.

When they went out to find the dust sprites, Cad decided to become a plant lover. This is a new trait for me, so I said, sure. Cad now loves plants.

Our cute little dust sprites have a lovely little place on the bookshelf at home. They really are pretty cute. Tara is excited to have them, and that gives us another 15 points!

Tara finally needed to sleep, and her sleep projection heads out to learn logic. She does need that for the Nerd Brain aspiration. Cad also unlocks skillful sleep himself, so we’ll have a couple of projections out sometimes now.

It’s premier day, and I guess I’ve missed all the others somehow, but it’s Game of Llamas again, so no new points. I’m not sure how we managed to either not have or maybe miss this holiday every other time.

Everyone has been busy, so the next time the Snacky Shack opens up, they do some decent sales. They have certainly sold more before, but it’s still a lot.

Cad is so close to filling up the second nectar rack in the room, and then he can start with the third one. My goal is to fill all the racks if possible before the end of the challenge.

Tara takes off on a very blue evening to go to space again. She still needs to work on SimScuffle, but we also have a space bunny to find!

Tara successfully not only finds but also chases away the big bunny from the satellites that were “attacked”. That’s another 40 points! (at least as far as I can tell, this is the only space bunny in the game.)

After our space success, it seems the aliens wished to speak with Tara again, as she once again got abducted.

The Snacky Shack is open nearly every day, and while we don’t always make crazy numbers, it’s still more than enough to help build up the family’s bank. We have more Voidcritter packs to buy and see if we can complete that collection.

When the food sale is over, Tara decides to open up her table for the day as well. We have a lot of cards and other items to sell. I even put a bottle of nectar out, which sold but did not count towards Cad’s aspiration. Cad helps Tara discover she likes deep thoughts.

Robin got his grades for the semester, and he did some stellar work! High A’s for both classes, and I went ahead and signed him up for another couple of classes.

Tara attempted a SimScuffle tournament while feeling Confident, and we got our first-ever second-place finish. That makes me think I might be onto something with this confident mood.

Cad was busy stomping away on some more nectar in the greenhouse. This lady came by to visit and went out and chatted with him. I think she attempted to flirt with him as well.

After some time passes, Tara tries a tournament again and gets the same result. Much like with the focused mood, I’m guessing I need to get Tara in a highly confident state to be able to win, so that is what we will work on next!

While Cad and Tara were busy, Robin was busy with the Snacky Shack and brought in another solid day of sales. This stand was the best purchase for these boys ever, and has been a lot of fun.

That, however, brings the week to a close. The next update is likely our final update for this challenge, so I hope you will join me then. It has been a lot of fun, and a few questions still remain. Will Tara manage to win a SimScuffle tournament? Will she find any more easter eggs? You will have to come back then and see. She did manage to get 55 more points this week, bringing our total points to 505. Thanks so much for reading!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 13

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Easter Egg challenge update! The last time we saw Tara, Robin, and Cadbury, the boys were busy with their Snacky Shack, and Tara nearly died in a rocket ship crash. Tara was able to win 3 more tournaments, Robin contracted Rapid Rodent Fever, and the boys graduated and grew into YA’s. Let’s dig back in!

Week 13

When we get back with Tara and the boys, they have a new greenhouse on the lot. With Cad’s desire to start making nectar, we will need additional plants, but we also need to be able to grow some out-of-season items during spring. The bees are moved in, and the nectar maker is installed.

Cad gets busy planting a few more things, like an apple tree and some grapes for using in nectar later, since those are the first nectars he’ll be able to make.

While they are sitting around chatting together, Robin decides he likes deception. Apparently, Tara told him a very good lie while downing her pitch black tea.

Tara takes on a MySims Racing tournament, but doesn’t place. Is this going to be our next SimScuffle, I wonder?

The Snacky Shack is open, and I did not apparently note how they did with their sales, but the boys have gotten pretty savvy at this stand, and it brings in some decent money.

The flea market is in town, and I decide to send the family to see if the seller has anything interesting. They don’t, so Tara sets up her own table. She doesn’t really sell much of anything.

She does, however, manage to do enough mischief that she is now at level 8 of the skill. Only two more levels to go to complete that easter egg!

Back at home, Tara decides to open her normal table again and gets a lot more interested customers. Her stand has become mostly Voidcritter cards and honey at the moment.

Cad has managed to get some apples, and so he gets started on making some Apple Nectar. We have also purchased some nectar racks. They are just in their room, so they won’t get the benefit of being in a cellar, but that’s ok.

Tara tries a new tournament and ends up getting third place this time. It’s better than last time, but I worry if she will be able to win this one or not. We have not, however, maximized our focus yet.

After a little while, Tara sat down to participate in another tournament, but this time the game console broke. Not the ideal time, but Tara was at least able to get it fixed quickly.

Since it was fixed so quickly, Tara was able to hop back into a tournament right away, and this time she took second place. This makes me feel it’s likely we’ll be able to win if we get the focus up and do not have the console break again.

Cad takes his nectar making very seriously now, and he loves to spend time in the greenhouse taking care of the plants and stomping on the fruit.

He is also really dedicated to the stand. He’s maxed his cooking, I believe, or maybe will soon, and gives the customers really good quality items.

So good in fact that the next sale is almost 1K. That’s pretty good for popcorn and candy. Daddy Don continues to stop by, and Robin gives him a hug when he visits the stand this time.

I had no idea that Tara’s skillful sleep astral projection would head out to the greenhouse, but she did and started on some nectar herself. Luckily, we were actually able to complete the nectar!

I sent Robin in to fix a toilet that had broken in the boys’ bathroom. While he was busy doing that, he decided he likes handiness. That’s a great thing to like, so yes!

Tara has discovered that the mixture of listening to focus music in her earbuds and drinking a cup of Pitch Black before starting a tournament seems to give her the focused mood she wants.

Sure enough, this time she wins the MySims Racing tournament without any issues! Way to go, Tara. That’s 2 down and 2 more to go on the console.

Taking a break from gaming to paint, Tara’s luck continues, and she gives us the Mona Lisa eater egg painting. That is worth 10 points!

Cad brings his homemade nectar into the room and starts filling up the nectar racks he was able to purchase. We will leave them here until they can become finely aged.

Tara sits down to get started practicing her next game. Next up is Destiney Effect, which is a play on Mass Effect.

Robin once again gets bitten by Thimble, but at least this time, there is no notice of the fever starting again. Thimble has been kind of mean to Robin lately.

Cad opens up the Snacky Shack and manages an incredible day of sales. There weren’t even that many items sold overall, but Cad’s quality items really do make a difference in getting good profits.

Tara works on a new painting and manages to unlock the Aspirational Thinker, which will give her some more satisfaction points. That will be nice. Anyway, Tara gets another easter egg painting completed for 10 more points. This picture is a play on the Son of Man painting by René Magritte.

It was at this moment, late on Tuesday, I believe, that I realized we had actually switched seasons to Summer. I also realized that the burglar stealing our weather machine appeared to wipe out the upgrades. Tara quickly upgraded it to change the seasons and was able to get us set back to spring.

Robin isn’t as into plants as his brother. In fact, he dislikes gardening, but that doesn’t mean he won’t go spend some time with him while he cleans up the nectar machine.

Tara sits down to try a tournament for Destiny Effect and has no problems winning another tournament. That means we have one final tournament left on the console to try and win.

We got the notice that Don has passed away. This is sad for everyone in the family, as they were all very close to Don, and the boys loved their dad.

Robin comes in to watch his mom work on the final console game, Genie’s Curse. I think this game is just meant to be a play on the side-scollers instead of any individual game, but I could be wrong.

Robin decides to go take the rocket ship out into space and see what he finds. He doesn’t get anything really exciting and arrives home safe and sound.

Robin applies for university and a bunch of different scholarships. He hears back that he has been awarded 2 different scholarships, which is great!

Then Robin takes a turn at the Snacky Shack while Cad is busy making some new nectar. It’s another great day of sales, and the boys have really increased our money and made up for Tara not having a job.

Tara and the boys take another trip to Granite Falls, hoping to find the elusive easter egg insect. First, though, they enjoy some food, and Tara manages to light the bonfire without causing any issues.

The family went out and worked on capturing insects, but they still haven’t found the one they want. It wasn’t a complete waste, however, as Cadbury was able to discover he loves the outdoors.

In the morning, before heading home, Cad goes and plays horseshoes for a little bit. This has become their family cabin, almost.

Now that they are home again, Tara gets serious about Genie’s Curse and starts to play it with the tournament in mind.

Robin decided to open up his mom’s selling stand and added a few items they had gotten recently. The sale did fine, and he was able to sell multiple things and add some additional money to the coffers.

Tara makes herself some Pitch Black tea. I think I kept saying coffee before, but either way.

Sadly, she only gets second place in this tournament, but that sort of makes sense with the fact that she took a little vacation in there.

Another night and another sale for the Snacky Shack. I apparently didn’t catch how the sales went this night, but Cad was on it and had a variety of popcorn options available.

Of course, what is an Easter Egg update nowadays without Tara getting abducted by the aliens?? They have really become obsessed with her.

Cad was out making some new nectar, and he unlocked a new mastery perk. He can now have a creative aura. Now I don’t often use the auras, but this could prove useful.

Tara wasn’t the only one to go to space during the night. Robin once again takes the rocket out. Maybe he went in search of his mother?

The next day, once Tara has returned and recovered, she takes another crack at the Genie’s Curse tournament, and this time she wins! Maybe the aliens helped, or maybe she had just finally practiced enough. Either way, that finishes all the console games!

Since it exists, and Tara already had a gaming mat from GeekCon, she rearranges the living room a bit to make room and gets started on Maniac Matchums.

Cad comes out to the greenhouse to find it’s become a bit of a mess. There is just an infestation of weeds to clear out. Many of the plants need a lot of water, but Cad was able to get it done, no problem.

I finally decided to have Robin take some classes for his aspiration. We are going to give him 2 classes, as he really only needs 1 for his aspiration. I decided to go with the economics degree.

Tara needed to do some more upgrades, and so she heads out to the rocket and gets those started while she is taking a gaming break. We still want to find that bunny!

She gets a good portion of the upgrade done and heads back inside to work some more on her latest game. I am determined to finish this game and see if we can win before the week is officially up.

Robin heads out to start making up some popcorn and other things to prepare the stand for the evening sale they will be having.

Cad handles the sale, and while it’s not the best they have ever had, it still brings in a good amount of money for a Snacky Shack.

Tara takes on a tournament right at the end of Saturday and manages to win! That gives her every game on the console, the one unique game on the gaming mat, and most of the computer games. Looking at it, SimScuffle came in Discover University, and isn’t base game. We have officially won all base game tournaments and the games from two other packs. I am going to officially award ourselves the 45 points for that easter egg, although I will continue to research and see if we can win SimScuffle before the end.

With that, this week is wrapped up. Tara had a GREAT week this week, earning another 65 points (20 for paintings and 45 for gaming). That brings our current total to 450 points for this challenge! Thank you so much for reading, and we are so close to being done with this challenge, but we have a couple of goals left to try and get, so I hope you will come back for the next update!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 12

To Sweet Lips | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to a new update of the Easter Egg challenge with Tara Cobb and the twins, Robin and Cadbury. The last time we saw the family, Tara continued to struggle with winning a tournament for SimScuffle, but was able to win the Hackathon and do decently well at the Ultimate Gaming competition at Geek Con. The boys did a lot of selling and helped with the rocket, and the week ended with a burglar trying to steal our weather machine. Let’s dig in!

Week 12

We have a couple of goals this week, and we might earn some points or we might not. Time will tell. When we first rejoin the family, Robin is busy holding a sale. We have a lot of Voidcritter cards to sell since we have been trying to find the last card we need.

The boys brought another girl home from school, I think, or maybe they just invited her over. I don’t fully remember, but either way, I think both boys kind of like her.

Tara decided to give SimScuffle one last shot, and unfortunately, she didn’t have any better luck than she did before. I might have to call that game unwinnable.

Tara heads back out to space to see if we can find the space bunny.

Instead, she crash-lands, and I think this challenge might be over! This was TERRIFYING, I’ve never actually had a crash like that before!!

So, we are going to draw this out a little.

Let me know if you think Tara is going to survive. I’m sure you can already tell based on the length you have left in the post, but still.

So, are you ready for the reveal?

Did Tara survive this horrendous crash, or are we calling this challenge done?

Wouldn’t that be the worst way to end this challenge?

All on the crazy crash from a chance card in space?

I would be so sad if it were done right here and now…..

All right, that’s enough stalling.

Tara did survive and was completely unharmed, THANK GOODNESS!!! I know I’m trying to finish these quickly, but that was not how I would want it to end.

Sadly, that means Tara has to start rebuilding the rocket if we are to explore any more of space. So she gets started on that, it’s a good break from gaming.

I remember that Pitch Black is actually really good for getting focused. I have Tara make and drink a cup.

Cad takes on fixing the sink, and he does a great job. It’s nice that Tara is not the only one I can trust to fix things now.

Tara comes back to start working on Road Rivals. I’m a bit concerned with all the issues Tara has had trying to get SimScuffle done. We might not have much luck, but all we can do is try.

Tara takes a small break to allow time for the tournament to be available. She heads out to do a little painting. Sadly, it’s not an easter egg painting, but it is cute.

Once the tournament begins, Tara heads in and competes, and she WINS! No big or complicated issues. That’s another game under her belt.

Even though it looks exactly like SimScuffle, this is actually Hillock II, which is supposed to be the most difficult game on the computer to win a tournament for, since it’s the highest-level game. We’ll see.

Cad decides to head out and help his mom by working on rebuilding the rocket ship. I am still determined to find the space bunny!

Tara gets ready to start a new tournament. She sits down and plays a bit more Hillock II, but before she can get too far, she gets interrupted.

I swear these aliens are just determined to make Tara’s life, and mine, harder by abducting her at the completely inopportune times. At least she comes back unharmed.

She sits down to compete in the tournament again, and this time she wins! Ok, so SOMETHING is up with SimScuffle, or it works differently than other games, because the rest of these seem pretty easy. That completes all the games, except SimScuffle, on the computer.

Cad is preparing to open up the Snacky Shack, so he gets some popcorn popping and fires up the candy machine.

Robin is out tending the garden and decides he does not like gardening. Ok, Robin, you don’t need to like gardening, it’s fine.

After a bit, Robin comes to help his brother prep the food stand by making some candy himself while Cad collects and starts a new batch of popcorn, or maybe caramel corn.

Inside, Robin goes and plays with Thimble, who actually bites him. Shortly after Robin gets the notice that he is now feeling horribly. I have never actually had someone get rodent fever.

Cad goes ahead and opens up the stand, and they have another good sale. I don’t know what happened to all the candy they were prepping, but I guess he decided to just sell a couple kinds of popcorn and drinks.

Robin looks up and discovers the cure for Rabid Rodent Fever, and quickly orders himself a bottle of the remedy so that he can cure himself before it’s too late.

It happened to be water shut-off day, and Robin was in need of a shower. Luckily, he has plenty of aspiration points, and so he grabs a quick remedy. I find all the bubbles coming out of the drink pretty funny.

Tara sits down and starts learning the Party Frenzy game on the console. We are through the computer games, for now, and while I might go back to SimScuffle, if I can win every other game easily, I might call that one glitched and give myself the points.

Tara and Cad have to get busy in the kitchen. It’s an exciting day for the boys. I also gave everyone the special jackets that are special easter egg outfits. These have references to different bands.

Robin comes up to the cake and blows out his candles. He aged up and became Valedictorian in school! Way to go, Robin!! We are not going to attend graduation, although I considered it with this notice.

Cad goes and blows out his own candles, and he graduated with honors. Not quite as good as Robin, but the boys did fantastic in school. Congrats to them both! Robin got the Self-Assured trait and now wants to be an Academic. Cadbury got the Genius trait and wants to be an Expert Nectar Maker.

Cad attempts to flirt with one of the guests. I know she is a fairy, and I don’t think it goes very well. Their dad is also there, of course, and he chats with both of his boys. He is still a pretty good-looking sim as an elder.

Tara takes it on herself to clean up after the party. There were dishes everywhere, and the food stand had some around it, too. The pile of dishes was pretty big.

After cleaning up, Tara sat down to try a tournament and won without any issue! I need to look up some stuff about SimScuffle, if I can. I feel like I have to be missing something!

After her win, it’s time to work on MySims Racing now. Clearly, there is a dish that we missed getting cleaned up that is stinking up the living room again.

Tara goes out that night and works on the rocket ship for a bit, then Robin is out the next morning working on it some more. We should have the rocket ship up and working again in no time.

Another day, another sale at the Snacky Shack. It works out well and at least helps pay for all of Tara’s tournaments.

Don comes over for another visit, and the boys hang out with him. Robin and Cad joke around, and Cad decides he likes jokes. Then they both get the jokester’s dynamics with their dad.

Robin takes on painting, and doesn’t get a new easter egg painting. Meanwhile, Tara continues her work on the MySims Racing game. We haven’t tried a tournament yet, just want to make sure she is ready first.

Right before the end of the week, the family takes a little vacation to Granite Falls. There is an easter egg here I would really like to find!

It only comes out at night, though, so they take some time to hang out and eat before they have to head out. They got a really nice little rental.

As evening begins to descend, everyone hangs out by the fire, which miraculously doesn’t set anything else, or anyone, on fire! Cad has been feeling very successful and decides he is an Overachiever.

Everyone heads out hunting insects and collecting whatever they can. Sadly, we have no luck in finding the one we are looking for. We will have to try again on a different trip because the week is ending.

It was another really good week, full of all kinds of activity. Sadly, no points were earned this week, so we are still at 385 points, but we made some really good progress towards winning all the gaming tournaments. I think Tara has, including SimScuffle, 5 games left. Thank you so much for reading. I will be back with another update soon!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 11

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | To Sweet Lips

Hello and welcome back to another Easter Egg challenge update! The last time we were with Tara and the boys, they worked on the rocket and the various stands to make some money. Tara worked as a scientist and got the satellite that let them watch alien TV. We completed the postcard collection, and Tara tried to win a SimScuffle tournament. Let’s dig in!

Week 11

When we first rejoin the family, the boys are out tending the garden and the bees. They have taken on a lot of this work while their mom desperately tries to win the next tournament.

Sadly, so far, no luck. SimScuffle is either the hardest game on the sim planet to win, which seems unlikely, or I am missing something about it.

The boys also go and work on the rocket ship some more. Tara helps out in between gaming sessions, but with three sets of hands, it’s bound to get done even faster.

Cad takes on trying to work the selling table to get more funds. One thing this family does not have a lot of is money. Even though Tara maxed her career a long while ago, she spent a good portion of it on the house and the boys.

Cad goes and checks on his mom, who continues to have no luck. If Tara doesn’t manage to win this week, I think we will switch gears and work on the others. If SimScuffle is this hard, I hate to think what we might have to do for Hillock II.

It’s Robin’s turn to work on making some additional money, and he opens up the snack stand. They have decent sales for the evening and bring in a decent amount of money.

Tara does still go to work, I just haven’t been following her all the time, but she comes home with a new promotion! Contrats, Tara. I believe it was at this point I decided to have her quit this job and focus solely on gaming.

She plays, she researches, she competes. Over and over and over again. Nothing changes, and she basically never gets any message but that the other contestants are better than her. No placement, not even 3rd.

Cad, being the active sim he is, really enjoys heading out for a jog now and then. It also helps keep him fit; he’s very thin.

Poor Tara leaves her game to go check out the lights. Maybe she’s hoping the aliens can help, or MAYBE the aliens are the cause of her issues?!

Aliens or no aliens, poor Tara is just STUCK. She cannot progress in this game. It really is time to try the others. Maybe something will come up to explain this.

Geekcon is back in town, and Tara has to go and compete. If nothing else, her spirits can be lifted by participating in the hackathon, which she won handily last time. She gets an even better score than last time

Sure enough, Tara wins again. That gives us another new computer, which we may just sell because we already have multiple computers.

With the success of the Hackathon, Tara goes and competes in the ultimate gaming test. She did pretty good, but it wasn’t the best score ever. She did, however, do well enough to win prizes. We also realized there is a tournament for a game on the gaming mat I wasn’t counting before.

Tara is back to trying to win SimScuffle at home, still with no luck, and the boys are getting to know some of their fellow classmates. They invite people over quite often now.

I haven’t really focused on either of the boys’ aspirations, but since Cad wants to work out at a gym, I figured, why not? We can go ahead and take them and their friends to the gym to reach that goal.

The rocket ship was completed, so I went ahead and sent Tara out on her first mission. This is important not only for her current aspiration, but also so we can see if we can find the space bunny!

The boys opened the food stand, but one of them nearly passed out, so he was sent to bed, and the other needed to use the bathroom badly, so when Tara returned from space, she took over for a bit.

The next day was a beautiful, warm spring day, and Cad was happy to head outside and sell some things. Turns out, though, he does not like mischief.

That could have been in relation to the fact that a friend stopped by, and turns out they are a werewolf. They decided to take out their fury on our gaming table. Not that we ever use it, but still.

The boys have A’s in school, but they do still usually try and get their homework done. They are almost through their teen years already, and it’s kind of crazy to realize how much time has already passed.

With all the frustrations about SimScuffle, Tara switches games. Next up is Road Rivals, which looks to be a play on fighting games, like Street Fighter or Tekken.

Robin actually paints us a new easter egg painting, and I am SO excited by that. This is the little spore character, and that will bring us in 10 points! It gets hung by the easel.

These aliens, I’m telling you what. I know Tara has the satellite, but as far as I know, she’s never contacted aliens. It’s just wild, because the Monster Mash side didn’t have a satellite, and I’m pretty sure it happened multiple times in the Genetic Roulette branch too! I guess they just like the Cobb family!

Cad is really one of my favorite kids. I think the game trolled me so hard with him; he just became a standout for me. He’s a good kid, cares for Thimble, is really good at selling things, and just has fun.

I am not sure which of the twins was SUPPOSED to be tending the stand. I want to say Cad, but it seems no one is watching it now. This stand has brought in a fair amount of money lately.

Daddy Don came over to hang out, and it’s a bit weird to see him all grey. He grew into an elder not that long ago. He still cares a lot about his boys. They all sit down and play a game together.

Late that night, a burglar visited the house. No one was awake, so I had someone wake up and call the cops. Then the burglar didn’t come inside. Instead, they were out stealing our weather machine!!!!

Sadly, the burglar got the weather machine before the cop showed up. The cop was still able to fight her and win, so the burglar was apprehended.

Then it was a happy day because instead of giving us money for our troubles, they actually returned our weather machine!!! That was wonderful news, since I did not really want to buy a new one.

That brings this latest week to a close, and while they didn’t earn a lot of extra points this week, we did make progress on a few things, like getting the rocket ship built. We did add 10 points for a new easter egg painting. That brings us to 385 points so far! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the update. We will be back again soon, but first, we are going to pop over to visit with Dawn next.

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 10

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Easter Egg challenge update! We are speeding right along, and it’s hard to believe we are already at week 10. When we were last with Tara and the boys, Tara was working on game tournaments, and the twins grew into teens. Tara worked as a scientist, and the boys continued to work their lemonade stand, which had been updated to include snacks. Let’s dig in!

Week 10

When we first join the family, a very stinky Robin was out handling the garden tasks, and Tara was headed off to the back of the house.

She has purchased a rocket and has started building it. One of the things we want to try to do is find the space bunny, and for that, we need a rocket!

A much less stinky Robin eventually comes out to help his mom with her rocket building. It’s not a bad thing to learn rocket science already.

Cad isn’t just lazing around by himself. He’s busy restocking the stand with some new candies and snacks. He’s getting pretty decent at cooking, but waiting for the candy machine isn’t the most exciting.

Once the table is fully restocked, Cad opens the stand. By the end of the sale, he had a pretty decent profit. It wasn’t the best, but popcorn has become a big seller for the stand.

Tara has started on her next game. She is working on SimScuffle next, which appears to be SimCity-like. For a bit, I thought SimsScuffle might be one of the higher-level games that sounds like it might require extra work, but it’s actually unlocked at a lower level.

Robin heads in, and I had forgotten that Tara had read Llamabelle already, so he reads that one. We get no new points for books at this point, but it is fun. Then Cad and Robin get a close dynamic.

We still have house guests, so when Cad and Robin sit down to hang out together, one of them joins them. I believe this might be Don’s current wife’s daughter, but I’m not totally sure.

Tara has not even placed in the last couple of tries at tournaments with SimScuffle, so maybe I was wrong about it not being as difficult. I’m not sure what I need to do to help Tara with this one.

The boys have really perfected the teamwork of running the stand. Cad works on some new candy while Robin does the selling. It’s another decent, although not great, sale. Popcorn is still super popular!

After another failed tournament, Tara heads outside. Maybe taking care of the bees and the plants will be what she needs to get her head in the game!

Remembering that Tara had high handiness, she went and started upgrading the beds for the twins. The amount of time it saves to have massage controls is just wild!

When Tara goes to work, she is asked to create a satellite, which is exactly what we were waiting for. Satellite completed, and Tara puts it in her “pocket” to take home at the end of the day.

The rest of the day for Tara is made up of chatting with co-workers and doing some analysis of various kinds. Tara is not going to be a scientist much longer; it’s not really “her”.

It was a successful day for the boys, who both came home with A’s in high school. I expect to get notices about graduating early for them soon.

The Hijinks festival is in town, which is a great time for Tara to work on her mischief. We, of course, attend and bring the boys along for fun as well. Tara works on being mischievous, and even though the pranksters were ahead by 6, they somehow lost!

During the festival, Cad decides that he kind of likes deception. I don’t know if this is the best lesson for him to learn, but that’s ok.

With the satellite in place, the family sits down to watch the interesting alien programming they are now able to get. This completes a new easter egg goal and gives us 30 points!

When the boys head to school the next day, Tara heads out to take care of the bees and then goes to work on the rocket for a while. She took the day off work and will be quitting that job sometime this week.

She heads back inside feeling refreshed and ready to face the challenge of a new tournament, and doesn’t even place. What is up with this game? Do I keep trying, or do I let this one go and try the others?

Their mom might not be having a lot of success with her tournaments, but Cad and Robin are having a lot of luck in their snack shop. This latest sale did really well, and while they aren’t making gobs of money, it’s quite a bit for snacks.

The boys’ schedules are a little off now, what with the better beds. That means Cad sometimes is up doing his homework in the middle of the night after sleeping for just a few hours.

Tara continues to practice with SimScuffle and has yet to have any luck placing in a tournament, let alone winning. If the rest of them are this difficult, we might have a problem.

We change tactics for a bit because having Tara sit forever playing a game over and over isn’t working. She tries to get a new easter egg painting instead, but doesn’t.

She does, however, get a promotion at work, which is kind of nice. Nothing to be upset about there.

Tara goes to work again, probably shouldn’t quit right after we get a promotion, huh? She does various tasks, like upgrading her SimRay.

I didn’t specifically get a picture of working it, but the boys open the stand again and we are getting right around 400 simoleons each time. It’s not bad. Elderberry Swirl Lollipops were a good seller, and everyone still loves Citrus Swig.

Poor Robin got an ailment that I thought I had turned off. I sent him to the naturpath to get that resolved. We do not need it to spread any further!

Tara starts work on what I will consider a new easter egg painting. Apparently, I did not get a picture of it completed. Still, it’s cans, which I’m relatively certain are meant to be like Andy Warhol’s paintings of Campbell’s soup.

They aren’t the closest, but I’m pretty sure that’s what this was meant to be. There are other Andy Warhol paintings in Sims 4 as well, so we’ll see if I get any more, and if I get at least 4 more, I’ll have 5 anyway, so for now, 10 points.

The postcard collection is completed! It took me far too long to realize Tara had all the required penpals; she simply had missed sending a letter to one of them. Whoops, anyway, this is another 25 points!

The table is ready for some more restocking, so Cad heads out with the last of the afternoon sun to start making some new candies and snacks to put up for sale later.

Tara is back to playing some SimScuffle and continues to struggle with getting through a tournament. Poor Tara, I don’t want this to be where our dreams end up dying!

The sale Cad started wasn’t great that night. It took a long time to get people to come up and purchase anything, and people were suddenly feeling like it wasn’t a good deal, even though we hadn’t updated pricing.

So we reopened again immediately and had better sales the second time around. Funny, it was later, and you would think fewer people would have been interested.

Tara’s life revolves around SimScuffle now. I remembered she could be In The Zone, but since that seems to happen automatically, it doesn’t seem to be helping. The boys have started working more on the rocket to help their mom.

They open the stand again and have an AMAZING day of sales. Everything was working just right for Cobb Treats, which we will be changing the name of soon.

Tara finally places in a tournament, but it’s only 3rd place. This is rather discouraging, but it is progress, so we will keep trying!

As the week wraps up, Cad is sent to take care of Thimble. He did a great job getting us all those postcards. He’s been a good mini hedgehog, and I’m glad the family has him.

That, however, brings us to the end of another week! It felt like a busy, yet slow week for Tara. She did end up earning another 65 points this week, though, which is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully, another week will see us through SimScuffle, but that game is not playing nicely. Currently, our total points are sitting at 375. There are 5 or 6 more goals I think are doable for Tara, but time will tell. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will come back for the next update!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 9

To Sweet Lips | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge with Tara Cobb! The last time we were with Tara, she had a really successful week of finding Eater Eggs. The boys opened a lemonade stand and achieved A’s in school. The family traveled a bit and saw the sea monster, Tara won a few gaming tournaments, and at the end of the week, Tara used the weather machine to bring us back to spring. Let’s dig in!

Week 9

When we first get back with Tara, she is busy playing a Sims Forever tournament, and she wins! That’s a third game out of the way! Congrats, Tara!

Thimble is doing his part to help with the postcard, and I had to laugh at his little “away” sign when he was off getting a new one for us.

Cobb’s Cold Drinks is once again open with many drinks available now. I think in other saves where I get to have a season other than spring, it will be fun to do something like hot cocoa for this. It was a good sale!

Tara is ready to tackle the next game, and this time she is playing My Sims Go, which seems to be a play of Pokémon Go as well as the My Sims games.

These boys are pranksters, and I was a bit worried Cad wouldn’t be thrilled with Robin’s air horn, but turns out they are good. They have tried to get a strained status before, and I vetoed that one. Cad has had it hard enough!

Since Tara had finished her career, much to her dismay, I had her quit being an eSports Gamer. She wasn’t happy, but I needed her to do something else.

Tara joined the science career, and I followed her to work. While there, she decided to search for some more crystals and metals since we will need those.

Tara met this Sim, whose name I do not remember, but he was Artsy. Tara decided that she liked that.

Tara did get a bunch of work done for the day. Science may not be her passion or anything, but we really just need her to invent things.

The postcard collection is nearly complete. Between Tara’s penpals and Thimble, we have a good collection already. This will be great to have completed. I think there are 3 more.

When she isn’t working, Tara is still hard at work on gaming. She continues to try to learn My Sims Go so she can compete in a tournament soon.

She still also paints sometimes, but so far, no new easter egg paintings. I don’t know why this one just is so difficult for Tara!

Tara is finally able to enter and win a tournament for My Sims Go and that is another game off her list. Next up, she will work on Incredible Sports.

However, it is a new special day for the family and Tara gets busy mixing up something special.

Daddy Don is the first sim to arrive, and Robin greets him with a big hug. Don really is such a good dad, even though he doesn’t live here. He’s always over.

If you hadn’t figured it out yet, it’s Robin and Cad’s birthdays today. Robin blows out his candles first, as usual, and then it’s Cad’s turn. There was a lot of celebration even if it wasn’t obvious at first.

Robin, pre-makeover, decides almost immediately that he likes fitness. I mean, sure, you can like fitness that works.

The three get dressed up in Star Wars costumes for the occasion. Tara is an X-wing pilot, Robin is Darth Vader, and Cad is a Mandalorian. This finally checks off the Outfits Easter Egg for 10 points.

For some reason, Don and his entire household call to stay over. Initially, I thought Don was alone, but suddenly, we had a bunch of houseguests.

Cad here achieved both Physically Gifted and Headstrong as a child. As a teen, he is now Romantically Reserved, but rolled for the Bodybuilder aspiration, which works great for me since he is also active.

He is also very good with Thimble and has never gotten bitten. I think maybe Cad has been saving up all his “love” for pets and not Sims.

Tara has work the next day and works on some inventions with the inventory, then she needs to tinker with the computer, which is an easy task for her.

By the end of the day, Tara gets a promotion and is already at level 4 of the career, which is as far as we are required to get!

With work done, Tara is back at her gaming, and now we are officially working on Incredible Sports. I don’t think this one should give us too much trouble.

Don is over again and chatting with his boys. Robin ended up getting the Mentally Gifted trait and rolled the Kleptomaniac trait, just like his mom. His aspiration ended up being Friend of the Animals, so he has a special connection with Thimble.

Now that the boys are teens, it felt right to update Cobb’s Cold Drinks to include some food options. We bought a popcorn popper and a candy maker. The fun thing is, as was pointed out to me, this is an easter egg item about the Katy Perry Sweet Treats pack for Sims 3.

Tara manages to gain Skillful Sleep, like so many sims in this family have had. I went ahead and said yes, though.

Tara is determined to be ready for the tournament for Incredible Sports and plays late into the night. Luckily, she has her bed upgraded, so she doesn’t need much sleep.

The boys open their stand again, this time adding popcorn to the mix, and keeping the Citris Swig that is so popular on the menu. It’s not a great sale, but it was a test run of adding these other treats.

Tara does eventually go to bed, and her astral projection self decides to work on some logic, which is not an issue for me at all.

Unfortunately, our house guests start a fire and burn up the stove and the fridge before Tara can put it out. It was a rather exciting few minutes, and luckily, they have the money to replace the items.

The boys decide to rename their stand Cobb Treats, although they aren’t sure if this is the name they will go with permanently. They have added candy now, and while the sale isn’t great, they were playing around with pricing.

Inside, Tara is busy winning the Incredible Sports tournament! Another game down, and Tara will start on SimScuffle next. That means she has 3 computer games left to win! With that, the week draws to a close!

Tara had another good week, although not as many points gained as before. She is just speeding through these game tournaments, which I was not expecting to be possible. We only added 10 points this time, for the outfits, but that moves us up to 310 points. Thank you so much for reading! I hope you will join us for the next update soon!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 8

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | To Sweet Lips

Hello and welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge with Tara Cobb! We are blazing through some of these updates, but we are going to go over to the Sweet Lips challenge with Dawn after this. I hope you will enjoy her story as well. The last time we were with this family, the twins grew into children, Tara started winning gaming tournaments, and the family got Thimble the hedgehog. Let’s dig in!

Week 8

When we join the family, everyone is working in the garden. The boys are old enough to start doing things like weeding, while Tara tends to the bees.

Tara and Don took their boys to the bluffs, and there they saw the sea monster and took a picture. I tried to get Tara to take a selfie that could catch him, but she always turned away from him to take it, no matter what I did, so these are what we got, and since the boys are in the pictures, I’m counting it! That’s 10 points!

They then took the boys up to Mt. Komorebi, where they took selfies with Yamachan and even attempted to find voidcritters. Neither completed the task, but they had a lot of fun anyway!

Now that the boys are kids, we have removed most of the toddler items and replaced them with things like these monkey bars. I am looking forward to having modular playgrounds with the new pack, but this family won’t get to enjoy them.

Tara hasn’t opened her little stand in quite a while, so she opens it rather late in the evening. She has been trying to clear out the lower-quality stuff and just sell those items outright to make space for the higher-quality things.

The boys came home from school with B’s. I don’t think either will experience any issues with getting to an A in school.

Tara won her first professional tournament for BlicBlock. One game down, so very many more to go. I wonder if we can get them done?

I decided to take a look at the professional tournaments that you could complete and, HOLY COW, we have a ways to go. So I gave Tara a list and will be tracking them as we go.

We decided to give Cad a bike so he could work on his motor skills. He can get it in multiple ways, but I like the idea of him learning to ride.

We got a notice that Thimble was getting older, so Tara went and grabbed an anti-aging treat, and Robin got to feed it to Thimble. I do not want to be dealing with replacing Thimble all the time.

Tara gets started working on playing the next game, R.E.F.U.G.E., on the computer. She ends up getting the mastery perk of In The Zone, which I almost forgot she had, and we might need to use it in the future.

Tara still has to tend the garden herself most days, now that the boys are in school, but it’s nice that she can focus on other things as well without needing to always tend to them.

In an effort to try and bring in some more funds, and just to see how it might work, Robin and Cad get a little drink stand. Using the drink set from Spa Day, we are able to make up lemonade and stock the food stand, which is called Cobb’s Cold Drinks.

Robin runs the stand, and it seems everyone was interested in some lemonade this evening. Cad was also on hand to try and mix up some more if it was needed, but he was searching for Voidcritter packs.

Tara manages to finally max out her career. She is officially a champion gamer, and I believe the gaming mat actually gives another game we compete in. Either way, maxing her career gives us another 25 points!

A job well done, and Tara sits down to read a new book in the Dusk Glow series. I love the description of this one; it’s just too funny. Also, Tara learns a bit about werewolves thanks to this book. That I will go ahead and count at the 5th’s Easter Egg book (we will keep reading them) for a final 5 points.

Cad managed to complete his first aspiration. After rolling for a new one, he gets Mind and Body, which means he was going to need to learn to ride a bike after all!

The boys sit down for some fun after a long day and play some games themselves. We are going to have to add a few focused items eventually in here so that Tara can work on tournaments here as well.

That might take a bit, though, as sadly her first try with R.E.F.U.G.E. ends in a second-place finish, but that’s ok, she just needs to work a bit harder.

I have never seen this action before, but Tara goes and snuggles with Robin on the couch. It’s just so cute as they sat and watched TV. Cad was too busy playing by himself to care much.

Tara finally gets a chance to open her stand again, and this time, we have lots of Voidcritter cards we can sell as well. The boys have been working on collecting them, searching the trash, and having Tara buy packs. We have a pretty good collection, but extras are being sold.

Thimble has been very proactive in getting us postcards. We already have 5 of them from him, and I think we are in good shape to finish the collection before too long.

The boys came home from school with their grades up to an A. I didn’t expect it to be hard for them. They are smart boys.

Tara takes another chance at the R.E.F.U.G.E. tournament, but this time Tara won! Game two completed, we might make this yet!

Tara immediately starts learning how to play Sims Forever, which I don’t know how you really hold a tournament for that game, but whatever. This game is obviously a play on Sims itself!

Tara sits down to read Llamabelle, which is very much a play on Annabelle. While not a book, it is very much a popular horror story and is based on a real doll.

Tara was going through a midlife crisis and wanted to work on the woodworking bench. I went ahead and had Tara do that to get a task marked off.

Tara attempted to play a tournament for Sims Forever, and this time she got 3rd place. It’s not a bad result, but not a win either.

It was Cad’s turn to mix up some lemonade so they could open up the stand again. This time, he also mixed up some Citrus Swig as well to sell alongside the lemonade.

The stand is open, and Don even came by and grabbed a drink from his son. The stand made some decent money, and Citrus Swig was pretty popular. It also has a nice price tag to it!

Tara woke up in the night to investigate some weird lights and got abducted. Luckily, Tara cannot get pregnant by alien abduction, but I seem to have a slew of these happening lately.

When she came home, we finally got our first Easter Egg painting!! This is obviously a play on American Gothic in real life, and thus gives us 10 points!

Tara has occasionally been sending the bees out to go find her collectibles, but there is one we still need to find. The bees will not really be helpful in this, I don’t think.

You could spy our start on the Voidcritter collection in the shot above. We have found a few more in the meantime. There are still more to find, but it’s kind of a fun little collection that I have never completed before.

The family takes a little trip to Innisgreen, and the boys get to splash around in the water. We don’t have any place for them to do this much in Oasis Springs.

Tara was on a different kind of mission. She needed to get a certain seed. Luckily, there was a plantsim around, and after Tara performed some flirtatious actions with him, he was willing to give her what she was looking for.

The flirty magic bean now has a prominent spot on our bookshelf. It has a Friends reference and will now be kept. It also brings us 15 points!

Tara opened up her yard sale table again, now mostly full of honey, wax, lemons, and a few extra voidcritter cards.

Robin finally finishes up his first aspiration and picks up Social Butterfly next. He isn’t likely to complete it. There just isn’t enough time!

The boys work on their lemonade stand and hold 2 sales back-to-back. Both were pretty successful. This time around, they also mixed things up by adding iced tea, which wasn’t a big seller, but it did bring in a fair amount of money.

It was the end of the week, and also the end of spring again, so Tara went out and used the weather machine and reset the season to the start of spring again. Since we have done this once already, I won’t take any additional points for it.

That wraps up this week! Tara had another good week, gaining another 65 points, I believe, and bringing our total to 300 points! Tara has done really well the last couple of weeks, and hopefully, with her video game skills, she will be able to complete the video game tournaments! Thank you for reading, and I hope you will join us in the next update soon!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 7

Previous Update | Next Update

Hello and welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge with Tara Cobb! The last time we saw Tara, she was busy with Cad and Robin as infants, as well as trying to get rid of a rival at work. Towards the end of the update, Cad and Robin grew into toddlers and started on their skills, and Tara finally got a new promotion. Let’s dig in!

Week 7

When we are first back with Tara, she isn’t even at home with her boys. Instead, she’s at the pool. Why is she here? Well, that is a very good reason, the Paragons meet here.

She spent some time talking to the clubmates, joined, and then, while I apparently didn’t get a picture of the convo, Tara convinced the leader to hand over the reins to her. Tara now leads the Paragons.

Next up is the Renegades, who also meet at the pool, funnily enough. She works to get to know the members and, once again, gets accepted to the club.

It was an easy thing to convince their leader to also step down. That means that Tara is now both the leader of the Renegades and the Paragons. Both clubs are Easter Eggs to Mass Effect, and this gives us 40 points.

When we get home, Cadbury is reading a book. Book reading is encouraged, and, in fact, we can still get some points for reading books in this challenge. What is he reading?

Cad is reading Charlotte’s Pig. This is clearly a play on Charlotte’s Web, and Cadbury seems to really enjoy his book. His brother is also busy reading.

Little Robin is busy reading A Good Night’s Moon, which was actually REALLY difficult for me to type, since I kept wanting to call it Goodnight Moon, the real book it’s based on. Those give us 5 points each, although they didn’t check off reading, so I won’t grant those points quite yet.

Since we do want to get the postcard collection done, and Tara has already gotten a start on that, to finish the collection completely, we need a rodent. Meet Thimble. We did not rename him, but I love the little baby hedgehogs.

With Timble settled, it’s time to take care of the boys. Robin was in desperate need of a bath, and then Tara actually read both boys to sleep, even though I only captured Robin’s bedtime story.

Tara has been working pretty late nights, and she got a promotion, which is going to keep her out of the house for even more hours in the evening! Luckily, our trusty nanny can adjust to her schedule.

I swear, Cadbury is still around, but Robin is next seen chatting with the nanny. I think Cad was working on his communication skills with the bear in their room.

When Tara is at home, she is usually playing games. I really want the points for winning the tournaments, but I also know it’s going to be tough. I’m not even entirely sure it’s possible, but we’ll see.

It was rebate day, so Tara bought a new big TV, and while she was at it, added a bookcase and some fun decor. These plants are called The Planters Five, and are clearly a reference to Encanto, especially since they mention the plant called Bruno that they don’t talk about. Then the mushroom from the werewolves’ pack is called The Tiny Fungus Among Us, and is clearly trying to be a reference to the video game Among Us.

See, I didn’t cheat Cad away! He was just busy elsewhere. I actually have a real soft spot for poor Cad. It’s not his fault that the game was trolling me. Anyway, it was his turn for a bath.

Tara has finally reached the point where she can hack the supercomputer, and she did it. Got a fair amount of money from it too! When you hack the supercomputer, you get old modem sounds, and it’s quite fun. That gives us 15 points.

Toddler training days. It’s nice that Tara works late, because it means she is here if the toddlers need her, but mostly they skill and take care of themselves, except for food and baths.

Daddy Don comes and visits, and proves he really is a good dad to kids. He gives Robin a bath and then tucks him into bed and checks on Cad. The boys have been skilling like crazy and are almost maxed on all of their skills.

Which is really good because it’s their birthday already. It seems like it went so quickly, but Tara made up a honey cake and invited all the easter egg sims we know to come celebrate.

Robin maxed all of his toddler skills, finishing the last one as the party was starting. He also unlocked many milestones along the way.

He is the first one to the cake, and Tara helps him blow out candles, and then he grows up. He will get a makeover here soon that you will see in later pictures.

Much like his twin, Cad also maxed all of his toddler skills. He actually did it before his brother, and he also unlocked quite a few milestones.

Cad was brought to the cake and blew out his candles with his mom’s help, and we officially have two children in the house.

Thimble got the boys a kind of gift by bringing us a new postcard. I do love these little notices. He’s even worked with nuclear fusion already.

Tara completes her aspiration of being a computer whiz, and she rolls to get nerd brain next. That should be fairly easy to complete.

Cadbury is now an Active boy with the Rambuncious Scamp aspiration. Thank you, randomizer, that is so perfect. Robin is an adventurous boy, and he has the Whiz Kid aspiration. So we get the boys a chess table and wicker whims furniture, for the easter egg fun.

Tara competes in a notice tournament and actually wins! This isn’t a professional tournament, and I’m not sure if it matters, but we have proven we CAN win!

After school the next day, the boys both come in and work on their homework. You can see a bit of the makeover we did to their room. I don’t think anything in here is a new easter egg.

Cadbury and Robin pull a lot of pranks on each other, and Cadbury, at least, decides that he likes that. He’s a prank kid.

The boys spend a lot of time together in the evenings with each other. With their mom often at work until super late, they entertain themselves. They are good kids and are happy to stay in and play games.

Tara was working on the professional tournaments and studying her moves when she officially maxed the video gaming skill! Way to go, Tara, that’s a big accomplishment.

It’s Love Day, so Tara invites Don over, and they catch up. She is grateful he’s been around to help with the boys multiple times, and thanks him by giving him a tulip. He really likes it.

He then heads in and helps his sons with their homework. Daddy Don was a really good choice for this challenge!

Thimble’s enclosure got really, really gross, poor Thimble. Luckily, Robin was there to help him out and make sure he had a nice, clean enclosure before school.

It might be late in the day, but the boys head to the playground not too far from their house to play. Cad needed that for his aspiration, which we are able to get right away, no problems.

Tara came home with another promotion and is one step away, I believe, from completing her career! This gave her a new computer too.

Tara still takes time to keep her garden and her bees happy. The potato she sprouted will never sprout if she doesn’t someday build a greenhouse, but we’ll see what happens.

Like his mom, Robin decides he likes video games. Well, kid, get some practice in, and maybe you can help your mom win tournaments.

Tara has been so busy she hasn’t been able to run her selling table, so Robin, the sweetheart he is, decides to try his hand at a yard sale. He even manages to sell a few things.

Tara needs to relax a bit and has been gaming a lot, so she grabs a new book. The boys aren’t really interested in reading with their mom, but luckily, their dad was around to hang out with for a while. Tara reading while drinking some water is so relatable to me.

She was reading Dusk Glow, which is a new book, and I will go ahead and count this as a book for points. This is a play on Twilight, and there are multiple in the series in sims. That will give us +5 points and wrap up our week.

We actually earned some new points today! For this week, we added 60 points to our total and are now at 235 points. Not a bad week, since for a couple of weeks there we were either not earning points or losing points. Hopefully, in the next few updates, we can earn even more! Thanks for reading, and I hope you will join us for the next update soon!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 6

To Monster Mash | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Easter Egg challenge update! It has been too long since I posted, and really, since I even played this challenge. I just wrapped up the Monster Mash challenge, so if you are interested in that challenge, it’s fully blogged and posted. The last time we were with Tara, she had expanded the house to make room for the baby, which turned out to be twins, Cadbury and Robin. The rest of the update was mostly taking care of the twins, and no points were gained. Let’s dig into the next week!

Week 6

We start the week with Tara taking care of little Robin. Also, I finally got a chance to show off the easter egg doors. It’s, of course, a play on the That’s All, Folks! from Looney Tunes.

Once the babies were taken care of, Tara went out to take care of the bees. We have not had a lot of time to run any of our yard sales since Tara has been very busy with the twins.

After making sure all the other living beings in and around the house were taken care of, Tara was finally able to work on her gaming. This would also help her get another promotion. I am DETERMINED to at least get ONE tournament win.

It’s tummy time, and Robin can do tummy time all by himself now. Cad is a bit behind his brother. He’s intense, and it has been showing.

The changing table was DISGUSTING!! Ugh, so Tara took some time to quickly clean it while the babies napped on their playmats.

Tara was out of family leave, and it was time to deal with her rival anyway. A nanny was hired instead of sending the boys to daycare, and he did a really good job taking care of them.

Tara grabbed quite a nice computer from work, not really sure how she pulled that one off. Then she also discovered she likes cooking.

Don came by and spent a bit of time with Tara, and probably to meet his boys. I wish I could blame Don for giving us twins, but I’m pretty sure it’s Tara’s fault.

Don proves, in yet another save, to be a decent father and help Cad while Tara takes care of Robin. Robin is already able to sit up now, while Cad still needs help with tummy time.

Tara needs programming to get her next promotion, after dealing with the rival, whom I decided to sabotage. I know it’s the “mean” way to do it, but Tara needs to get her mischief maxed out!

Our new favorite person, the nanny, is back again while Tara heads out to work and is busy helping keep Robin in good spirits. He can now scoot around the house and has become a little escape artist.

Just look at this cutie though!! He’s so adorable!

I sent Tara around to meet and try to befriend some of the other “easter egg” sims in the neighborhood, and while at the Goth’s house, she couldn’t help but take a little something for herself.

Tara finally bested her rival and opened up paths to promotion again! I am so glad it’s done.

It was doubly good timing as there is more to celebrate tonight. When Tara gets home, she invites everyone she has met recently over.

Sadly, Tara didn’t change into her party wear, which is one of the easter egg outfits, but we’ll have to try again later. Still, it’s Tara’s birthday, and she is now officially an adult.

It isn’t JUST Tara’s birthday, though, but the twins’ as well. Robin did a great job on all of his milestones and earned so many.

Cadbury did all right, not as good as Robin, although he did learn to blow a raspberry, which Robin did not.

Tara got Robin and brought him to the cake first. She helped him blow out his candles.

Next up, it was Cadbury’s turn to blow out his candles so they could both become toddlers!

Robin will remain wearing a lot of blue, and he is now an Angelic toddler. Yes, that will be nice and calm. Next up, our little Cad, who will continue to be in mostly red, is now a Clingy infant, because of COURSE he is. I’m sorry, the game is trolling me with you, Cad.

The party continued, and the boys got some food. You can see our start to the postcard collection back there on the wall. Where is Tara, you ask?

She was busy upgrading the cribs to be toddler beds for the boys. They were getting sleepy, and so was Tara, so it needed to get done right away.

With the party over and the cribs upgraded, Tara works to read both boys to sleep, hoping for an easy first night.

The hits to Cad keep coming, unfortunately, when we discover the boys’ first toddler quirks. Robin loves to be carried, which isn’t going to happen much, but that’s ok. Cad is a light sleeper, which means EVERYTHING wakes that kid up.

Amongst all the chaos, Tara finally decides that she likes programming, which is probably just as well since it’s her current job.

The nanny has been an absolute lifesaver in this save. It’s difficult being a single mom for Tara and having to leave her babies. But this way, I ensure they get some good skilling in!

They play together really well, and Cad is such a cutie, even if he is clingy.

He’s also a little singer, so he’s always trying to sing to the nanny. I’m sure it probably gets old, but it’s sweet.

Daddy Don came over and hung out with the boys for a while as well. Cad even managed to corner him in the hall to sing some songs and babble at him about nothing.

Tara finally got to the branching path of the career and is going to become an eSport Gamer, because MAYBE that will help us with the tournaments. I have no idea.

Any free time she gets right now Tara is working on games. Usually, Blicblock until we can win a tournament. I’m not even sure it’s possible in the game’s current state, but I’ll do everything I can.

Luckily, the boys are mostly able to entertain themselves now, working on skills and hanging out with each other.

The game suddenly throws us the rest of the twins’ quirks. Poor Cadbury gets hates wake up time to go with his light sleeper. That poor kid. Robin gets that he LOVES wakeup time and he loves water.

The week is now full of toddler training. I believe both boys are at level 2 of the potty skill, so they can do that on their own, and it’s just skilling and skilling and skilling.

The nanny does all he can. Plays with the boys, feeds them, and listens to them babble on. He really is a good nanny.

Tara tries her hand at another painting, but still cannot get any of the easter egg paintings. It’s getting discouraging for her, and for me. It’s going to be another 0-point week.

I got a play tent for the boys so they could go play in there. It’s really cute to watch them play together in the tent and grow their imagination.

Cad took a turn on the slide and did eventually get scared because it was too fast, but it’s a quick way to earn some movement.

After coming back inside, he was able to get the nanny to do some flash cards with him and worked on learning his numbers. The boys are doing really well in their skills overall.

That is where this week wraps up, and while a lot was going on, sadly, none of them were point-earning, so we still have 175 points. I don’t think we are going to be very successful at this challenge, but we still have a lot of time left, and once the boys are in school, that should free up Tara a lot. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will give the Monster Mash a shot if you haven’t already, as we will be back with them soon, I think!

SimNaNo Update #8

Welcome back to another Easter Egg update! The last time we were with Tara, she finally got pregnant by Don Lothario with her one and only child. She also managed to upgrade the weather machine and successfully set the season back to spring. She also made progress on a few of the easter egg goals. Let’s get into this next week!

Week 5

We join Tara in the middle of a new yard sale. This sale goes very well, and she is left with almost nothing on the table. This is great news for her, as we need to expand the house desperately.

This is Tara’s newly built house. It has a nursery, office, bedroom, 2 bathrooms (although one is not completed), and a big room for the kitchen/living room/dining room, like before. It’s still rather small, but it should be perfect for the rest of this challenge. In building the house, we used a couple of other easter egg items (although not ones for points). I’m relatively certain this ‘Let This Door Be the Door’ is a reference to the ‘Let My Love Open the Door’ song, based on the lines at the bottom of the description. This light is also a reference to a song, I’m relatively certain. Karma Kamelon is a song from Culture Club, and Calla Chameleon just seems too likely.

This is the current state of the nursery. I wanted to make sure she had all that she would need for the new baby, and we have a lot of easter egg items in here, including the old posters from early on. We also have a House on a Hill window, which I’m relatively certain is an easter egg to either House on the Hill or at least a horror movie. Dage Decal is obviously a reference to the Doge dog meme, and the I Can’t Believe It’s Not Silk curtains are clearly a reference to I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. Finally, we also put in the Yonder Window, which is a reference to Romeo and Juliet.

Now that Tara has a larger house, and we will show more of the interior later, Tara needs to go collecting again. She is mostly out of money and has bills coming up.

With collections completed, it’s time for more yard sales. Before long, Tara has a couple thousand in the bank again and can make additional renovations to the house.

Tara started to upgrade the computer in her new small office. It’s very tiny, mostly just room for the desk, but it’s nice to have a dedicated spot for the computer, instead of on the dining table.

Tara got an opportunity for fame and money, and while I often might not have Tara take this, we could really use the money. Tara is now, unfortunately, tense due to being typecast, and she also has some fame. She came home from work with a work rival, which seems fitting.

Tara takes some family leave for the rest of the week so she can prepare for and care for the baby when it comes. That includes being able to take care of other things, like the bees.

Don comes over and “meets” his little one. I think he’s ready to meet the new baby, and Tara is quite ready to be done being pregnant. Luckily, she only needs this one; no additional pregnancies required for Tara.

Tara tried a novice tournament and came in second. While that isn’t winning, it’s at least a decent start since the computer isn’t fully upgraded, and Tara isn’t even that skilled at video games yet.

Tara then heads to the rather empty-looking corner of the living room to do some painting. She has not gotten a single easter egg painting yet. Our luck has not been good.

Tara decided she likes video games while sitting down in her newly set-up living room to play games on her new console. She saved up to buy the most expensive, which I’m hoping will help her win tournaments. Also, it’s not really a true easter egg, but this rug is called the ‘No Colt Feet’ rug, and I thought that was a funny pun.

Tara is officially in labor! The baby is on the way, and we are very excited to meet him or her. This gives us a good view of our new couch, which, while not an OFFICIAL easter egg, is a reference. The Loung-E Boy is obviously a play on Lazy-E Boy furniture.

Don comes to the hospital but leaves fairly quickly once Tara is back. I can’t really be surprised. It’s rare for non-playables to stick around the hospital. Tara gets into the machine, which luckily handles her needs, which were pretty bad by the time she got there.

Welcome, baby Robin, to the challenge. Robin is named after the Robin Eggs candies that always show up around Easter time. He gives us 10 points for being born to Don Lothario, an easter egg sim.

THEN, also welcome Cadbury (whom I’ll call Cad) to the challenge. Yep, that’s right; Don gave us TWINS. So Cabury brings in a net -65 points. He brings in 10 for being born to an easter egg sim, but -75 for causing us to go over our child limit. Cadbury is named after the Cadbury Eggs that are often around at Easter.

Luckily, Tara has more family leave and enough money to actually EXPAND the nursery, since now we need room for TWO babies. Tara heads out to tend the few plants she has and bond with the bees.

Tara, while gardening, I believe, gets the Mastery Perk, Spacebender. That means she can teleport, which might come in VERY handy while chasing after twins!

Tara is a very attentive mother with the boys. She almost always jumps right to tending to them when they cry and usually gives them what they need, but as with twins, they are a handful.

Due to losing so many points with Cad, any additiona money Tara can earn will be useful. Tara tries to paint an easter egg painting and fails to, so that will be sold on Plopsy. Then it’s back out for a very lemon-heavy yard sale.

I was so glad when it was infant time, not that infants are necessarily easier. At least now Tara can work on teaching them things.

Here are our boys after their makeovers. Robin is in blue and is a calm infant. Cad is in red, and he is an Intense infant. YAY……Cad, you are not doing yourself any favors with these roles. They are, clearly, identical.

We quickly get a quirk for each. Robin frequently sneezes, and Cad is going to be a picky eater. I swear it’s like the game WANTS me to not like Cad.

Here is Cad being picky and not wanting his bottle. You are hungry, for the love of the watcher, please just eat so Tara can go to bed!

Actually, I think Tara’s next task was to do tummy time with Robin. I am determined to at least get them some of their milestones, but I traditionally struggle with twins.

Oh, goodie, more “fun” quirks. Both boys, it turns out, are early risers! Lucky me, I mean Tara…..

However, some REALLY good news has graced us. I must have missed it during the twins’ needs, but Tara got a Hypnofrog, finally! We have named the frog Kif, after Futurama, which this toad is a reference to. He brings in a wonderful 15 points!

One of the boys, I THINK it was Cad, woke up with a blowout, and Tara had to give him a bubble bath.

Tara then attempted to sit down and play some games again, but was interrupted before she was able to get too far.

I swear I did tummy time with Cad as well. I just keep getting pictures of Robin being the one Tara did tummy time with. As a calm infant, he needs a bit more “prodding” to earn milestones.

Final quirk for Robin is revealed, and he is a self-soother. Bless you, Robin. I swear I like both of these kids, but the game really stacked the deck against Cad.

A lovely, blessed moment of peace and quiet. These two really have been a handful, although not as bad as some infants I’ve had. They are relatively on the same schedule, at least.

Well, when you REALLY have to go, but also need to feed your infant, I guess this is a choice you can make. It worked either way, so I’m not going to complain.

Oh, see, I do tummy time with Cad too! I swear he is not getting neglected in any way. Thankfully, Tara is still on family leave. I have never actually used family leave before in this game, and I’m glad it exists right now.

After some additional tummy time for Robin, he also needed a bath, so Tara took him in to give him his own bath. That brings us to the end of this week.

It was a rather eventful and at times, stressful week of the Easter Egg challenge. We did not GAIN any points; we actually lost points due to the -75 for Cad. Our current total is 175 points. Even though we gained 35 new points this week. Sadly, I did NOT get a dialog box that said anything about the life, universe, and everything for the birth, and from what I can see, that may not even exist. Either way, we are limited in the points we can gather at this point, but we’ll keep working towards it all next week. I hope you enjoyed the update and will join us next time. Thanks for reading!

SimNaNo Update #7

Welcome back to a new Easter Eggs challenge update. We are about two-thirds of the way through our SimNaNo updates for the month. The last week with Tara went by quickly, and the update ended up very short. We did quite a bit with Tara, who attended GeekCon and managed to win the Hackathon while there. She also attempted the gaming challenge, but didn’t win, and even tried a game tournament, which she also didn’t win. She also had a burglar break in and spent a lot of time improving her handiness in the hopes we can get the weather machine upgraded. Let’s dig in!

Week 4

It’s early morning, and rather gloomy when we first join Tara again for this new week. She’s bonding with her bees and collecting the honey.

After that, she heads to the frog-catching spot and tries to catch the elusive Hypnofrog, which we still have had no luck catching. We also keep trying to breed one and haven’t managed that either.

We have to finish getting our handiness to the required level for the weather machine upgrade this week, so Tara is back to making wood carvings (since that makes sense to help with electronics.)

Tara got a promotion and is now a Development Captain! Way to go, Tara!

The hijinks festival is in town again, and Tara still has a goal to get a voodoo doll. She also needs to max her mischief skill, so she heads down and joins the pranksters. Their prize would give her the voodoo doll at least.

While at the festival, Tara talked with someone who was hard-working and decided she likes hard-working sims. You are welcome to like hard-working Sims, Tara. That’s great!

Luckily, for Tara, the Pranksters won the competition without too much effort. Tara now has her voodoo doll. Next, we just have to max mischief to get those points.

As the week progresses, Tara is back to holding yard sales. She needs the money, and this really has been a decent way to get some additional simoleons. She is going to need to expand the house eventually.

In need of some fun and relaxation, Tara picks up Darley Porter & The Basement of Shadows to read. Obviously, this is a reference to Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, which is a new book, and earns us a new 5 points.

After attempting to let the puddle get big enough in the bathroom without much luck, when the kitchen sink broke again, we finally got our ducky puddle recolor. This gives us 10 points, and now Tara can finally fix all the plumbing.

Working on repairing all the various plumbing items means that Tara has finally reached handiness level 8. This is great news as it means we can upgrade the weather machine one last time.

Before that, however, the poor garden needs some help. Tara spends some time tending to it and getting the 4 plants she has planted back in good shape and then harvests everything.

Finally, it’s time to finish upgrading the weather machine. Now that the upgrade is completed, Tara should be able to change the season on her own. I believe there is still a chance it will fail, but hopefully not.

Don was invited over because Tara still needs one child, and she was feeling lonely. Don was feeling unfulfilled in this relationship, which I’m not really surprised about, but it made for a good excuse.

A quick bout of fun for these two, but sadly, after checking, Tara isn’t pregnant. They’ll just have to try again, since I am committed to Don being the father.

It was the television premiere holiday, so Tara sat down to watch the “Game of Llamas” Premiere. It looked a lot like Indiana Jones and an ER-type program to me, but I’m counting it, and giving Tara 10 points.

After watching the premier, Tara and Don are up for another try at getting Tara pregnant. Sadly, this time didn’t work out any better than the last time. We might have to try a different woohoo spot.

None of that really stopped Tara. She’s actually pretty smitten with Don, and they now have a steamy relationship. I think Don is probably fine to keep trying as long as it takes.

Tara has the sedentary lifestyle, and she does live a mostly sedentary life, if you don’t count extracurriculars with Don. I, however, decided to send her on a jog, and she brought her food.

Tara is once again out looking for the Hypnofrog with no luck. I swear the frog is a pain to find. She then spends some time gathering other collectables we can sell later.

Tara went and visited with Don at this house, but the house is a little too busy with an infant around. It made trying for a baby again a little difficult. Instead, a date is suggested, and Don accepts.

They make out by the bar and head into the closet for a little fun that will hopefully get Tara pregnant. Maybe they just needed a change of scenery?

The change was exactly what was needed. Tara is officially pregnant, and I’m happy to have this part finished. Granted, she still has to have the baby and raise it, but now we can go back to spending time doing other things.

Summer is officially prepared to start, and so, super early Sunday morning, the season officially changes. When Tara gets home, she heads out to try the weather machine and set it back to spring if we can.

Success! Tara officially changed the weather back to spring with the weather machine. Way to go, Tara! That gives us another 15 points for being able to use the machine instead of a cheat.

That wraps up the end of week 4. Next week, Tara will have the baby, and that means we will officially be required to expand the house (because a baby is not going to fit easily right now.) Tara doesn’t have a ton of money, but we’ll figure it out. She has earned 215 points after this week, getting 40 points this week. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the update!

SimNaNo Update #4

Welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge! We are back with Tara, who finished up week 2 the last time we saw her. She completed a few of the simpler easter eggs and started working on getting the one child she’s required to have. The weeks might be a bit shorter going forward, but let’s dig in!

Week 3

We are going to start the week with Tara holding another yard sale. This one was quite late in the evening so she didn’t sell as much as she sometimes does, but that’s ok. Tara focused a lot of time on building her skills.

Tara has decided she does not enjoy listening to Electronica Music, which, ok, that’s fine.

GeekCon came into town, so Tara left her job a little early to go participate. Her boss might not be thrilled, but he’ll survive. She started off by participating in the Hackathon, where she earned 75%.

After the Hackathon, Tara stopped at the food stand and grabbed herself a burger. Gotta keep her strength up to participate in the game challenges next.

To no one’s surprise, Tara did not pass the Ultimate Gaming Test. She did the best at Blicblock. That is also not surprising since that’s the one she plays the most. I think it might be the only one she has played.

She did enter a novice tournament for Blicblock while at the con, but she didn’t win that either. That wasn’t unexpected, but you never know until you give it a try if she might have.

Unlike the gaming competition, to my utter shock, Tara WON the Hackathon! Way to go, Tara! That doesn’t actually give us anything for the Easter Egg challenge, but I’m still shocked and pretty proud of her. We need to hack a supercomputer at some point, so this feels like a good step.

One major thing it does do for Tara, however, is give her this BEAUTIFUL computer. We need to expand the house a bit and give Tara an office. She is also going to need a nursery at some point.

Tara needs some extra cash, so she holds another yard sale. She is making some decent money, especially with the produce gaining in quality at this point. Each yard sale usually gives her a few hundred or more simoleons.

A burglar showed up to break into the house. Tara doesn’t have a burglar alarm, so while she made it into the house, Tara was able to wake up and call the cops quickly. She did attempt to confront the burglar on her own, but the cops showed up and took care of it before anything further happened.

Tara still tends her little garden, and the plants have evolved a couple of times thanks to her care. The bees help as well, of course.

Tara and Don head out on a date to Brindleton Bay, and the date doesn’t go great. He wasn’t in a good mood, and Tara struggled herself. The weather wasn’t very nice either.

I decided to switch out Tara’s bed, and while it does not get listed as an easter egg item, this bed is absolutely a play on the Polly Pocket toy. The shape of the bed, the pastel, and the name are all very intentional.

We need to get Tara up to level 8 of handiness in order to finish upgrading the weather machine. We have one more week to get it updated in order to keep the season in spring.

Tara sits down to read a new easter egg book. Atlas Hugged is obviously a play on Atlas Shrugged. That gives us another book for 5 more points, the first real points of this week.

To keep working on her handiness, Tara also begins to make updates to the various items in the house. The appliances are especially getting upgraded.

Tara gets to level 7, and she needs at least one more, so more woodworking and upgrading the kettle are in order. She is not going to get to level 8 this week, but hopefully next week.

We will be ending the update with yet another yard sale. Tara has been holding them often, and she is getting some regular customers who always show up and always buy something.

That wraps up the third week in this challenge. I know this was a short update, but a lot of progress was made towards things. Next week, spring is officially over, so we will see if we can use the weather machine to set it back for points or if we are going to have to take the hit. We will also need to get the baby going soon. We are up to 175 points, only gaining 5 this week, but hopefully we made strides towards some more. I hope you will join us for the next week soon!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 2

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | To Sweet Lips

Welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge. The last time we saw Tara, she was getting started with this challenge, and managed to buy all the point providing build/buy items. She also worked a bit on her career and played a lot of games. Let’s check in on her second week!

Week 2:

We start the second week with a lawn sale of all the various items that Tara has acquired and does not currently need. She needs the weather machine, so she can work on getting it upgraded. That’s going to take some time, and I’d like to start soon.

The welcome wagon of Nancy and Geoffrey Landgraab finally arrives to welcome Tara to the neighborhood. She mostly ignores them to play her game.

While Tara was “hanging out” with the welcome wagon, or playing BlicBlock in this case, we decided to change out the window. While this gives us no points, it is an easter egg. The window’s name is a play on the band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark.

We had enough money to also purchase this wall light. The Marker Shard is a play on the Dead Space video game series, where The Marker is one of the objects/entities in the game that looks kind of similar to the light.

We have also been able to finally get and start updating the Weather Machine, which we will need to use in order to keep it spring all the time. It’s going to take quite a bit of updating to get there, but Tara should be able to do it.

One final Easter Egg item Tara was able to purchase was this Sirens’ Glowing Pylon light. This, again, dosn’t give us any additional points, but it’s fun to try and find and get all of these. This one is based on the Siren or Forbidden Siren video game.

Tara was in need of some fun, and we needed to get to reading some Easter Egg books. We can read 5 of them for a max of 25 points, 5 points each. Lucas Dark and The Increasingly Unlikely Series of Coincidences is her first book to read, and this is a reference to the Series of Unfortunate Events books. That gives Tara +5 points.

Tara decided to go to the Hijinks festival in the hopes of doing enough mischief to get a voodoo doll. Sadly, she was one of the only people at the festival who joined the pranksters, and so there was a tie.

Tara was not in the best mood when I had her make herself some tea. It’s Earl Grey, Hot, which gives us 10 points and is a reference to Star Trek, where this is Picard’s standard order.

Tara has bonded a lot with her bees and sent them out to bring her back something. Sometimes they will bring postcards, so I thought we might as well try. This time they brought us a fossil, though, so it’s added to our table to sell.

Tara came home with a promotion! She’s doing really well so far in this career, and hopefully we’ll be able to max it without too many issues, and then we can join the science career.

Tara starts a new yard sale, trying to sell off some of the excess items. She has quite a few from her garden and breeding frogs. She is also selling honey, and is able to typically sell at 100% or 200% markup at this point.

Tara finally got an easel to allow us to start painting, as there are easter egg paintings we need. Sadly, this is not one of them. It is kind of a fun painting, though. I like it.

It may be small, but Tara does still take care of this garden as it’s bringing her in some much-needed money. We are going to have to expand this house for a child before TOO terribly long.

Tara stops by a distant neighbor’s house. This is a neighborhood over, but if you know who lives here, you might have an idea of what Tara is here for.

Yep, it’s the infamous Don Lothario. Technically, Katrina Caliente is downstairs, but Don is not the committed type, literally. So Tara doesn’t have any qualms about using him for what she needs.

They go on a little date and enjoy some closet woohoo, after which Don gives Tara a rose. It’s actually pretty cute. I get why people would fall for Don. Sadly, no pregnancy yet, but we’ve got some time.

The next yard sale that Tara holds has a lot of people stop by and many things are purchased. She keeps the table well stocked and is happy to provide so much produce to the neighborhood.

Tara buys herself some medicine and takes it as one of our next Easter Eggs. She is now overmedicated and gets the “this is your brain on drugs” description. I grew up when these were all over the TV, so it’s kind of funny. This gives us 10 points.

Don comes over to visit Tara, and she is very suave with him. He seems a bit taken aback. Hey Don, turnabout is fair play. Tara is just using you, and I’m pretty sure you know it.

There is still no pregnancy, but Don gets a key to our house so he can come over whenever he wants. Eventually, Tara will have a baby with Don, and I want him to be able to come over and see the kid anytime he wants.

That, however, wraps up week two of this challenge. We did not add a ton of points this week, but we did add some. She finished last week with 135 points, and we added another 15 points, but can give ourselves another 10 points for blogging this challenge. That gives us a new total of 170 points. When we are back for week 3, Tara will probably try and at least get pregnant with her one and only baby. I hope to see you then, and thanks for reading!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 1

To Monster Mash | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome to the Easter Egg challenge! With this challenge, we are starting the 3rd of five challenges for the Boolprop 20th Birthday celebration. I decided we will be using Tara Cobb as our founder for the Easter Egg challenge. You may recognize her from the Genetic Roulette challenge that started this birthday celebration. The rules are posted in a few places, but here is the link again if you want to review them.

One of the things we will be trying to do is find many of the various Easter Eggs that exist in the game. Some of them will give us points, based on the rules, and others will not; they will just be for fun. If you want to see the list we are going to be working off of, check out the wiki entry here.

So our start nets us no points, since we are starting with Tara, but that’s ok. I want to keep these challenges all in the family, and Tara was one of my favorite kids from the initial challenge.

Week 1:

We do get some points by starting with this cute little starter house in Yuma Heights. That gains us +25 points just for that. Yuma Heights is a play on Lima Heights from Glee.

We got super lucky with our roll. Tara only needs a single kid for this challenge, which will be done easily, and won’t break the bank expanding the house, since we have a lot of stuff to buy.

One of the things we have to do is get all the build/buy items on our point list before the end of week one. So we start with this little gnome, parodying Guardians of the Galaxy. That gives us +10 points

Off to the side of the house, under the awning, we grabbed the Wolf Pytts gaming table. It’s based on Bear Grylls, and is worth another 10 points, provided we keep these through the entire challenge, which I plan on doing.

On the other side of the house, we grabbed the Bertie’s Bee Box, which is an homage to Burt’s Bees. They do skin care products mostly, and Tara will need to bond with the bees. She gets another 10 points for keeping the bees.

We had to move some things around to add this High Ground stool. This is, of course, a reference to Star Wars. This adds another 10 points to our score so far. We will have a lot of points in week one, and probably lessen over time.

Our last immediate buy item was this wall of stars. This is a reference to a Coldplay song, if you happen to know it. If we keep it as well, that’s another 10 points.

Actually, there was one more thing we bought on day one. This Schmapple Kettle. Schmapple is obviously a play on Apple products, and while we will try and get more of the Schmapple line, for now it’s just the kettle. That is still +10 points though.

Tara gets herself a job as a Tech Guru, starts as Code Monkey (another reference), but before work, she has some time to go collect frogs. We need a HypnoFrog, but so far, no luck. We might be able to breed one if we get the right frogs.

Since she was out anyway, Tara went on a whole collection run. We need a lot of money to finish buying the build/buy items, plus we are going to need a weather machine.

We got the notice of the flea market, so Tara went out and tried to sell some of her collected items to the masses. She got a few sales and packed the rest away.

Tara was super hungry after a full day, so she grabbed some food at one of the stands and sat down to eat. I’m not entirely sure who will be the father of her baby. I have an idea, but we’ll see if it works out.

Once Tara is back at home, she plays some BlicBlock, which is obviously an homage to the game Tetris. Tara is going to have to play all the games and attempt to win tournaments for each, which I have heard is pretty tough, so we’ll see how she does.

The bees have already produced some honey, which will be a good money-making venture for Tara in the future. They are also already pretty comfortable with her, and she has bonded a fair amount.

She goes on another collection run now that the plants have produced and gathers up and plants some of her own. The bees will help with making them high-quality and provide her with some cooking benefits.

This has nothing to do with the challenge, but I found this notification rather humorous. I have a feeling Olive might have met her match with Caleb. He’s not going to be easy for her to kill off.

Tara came home with her first promotion. I plan on finishing this career, if possible, so we get the benefits for our hacking and gaming, and then move into the science career. That’s at least the plan.

We have another couple of items checked off our build and buy list. In her room, we now have the Teen Idol Poster based on Hatsune Miku, a Japanese voice synthesizer, as well as the Henry Puffer poster. This is obviously a reference to Harry Potter. Each gives us +10 points.

We also finally have enough money, thanks promotion, to get the Morphing Pictures set. These pictures are rather large, but they have “spooky” versions, which are apparently similar to TS3. They make me think of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney. That gives us +10 each.

We managed to capture the spooky versions of all the paintings. You can somewhat ignore the last picture, as I thought MAYBE I could shrink them, but no. Anyway, they are kind of fun.

Tara had a day off at the end of the week, so she spent it hunting for frogs. We have had no luck finding the HypnoFrog, nor being able to breed it so far. I checked through the rules, though, and since this is NOT a build/buy item, we will just keep going and take the points when we do get it.

We are going to wrap up week one with another sale. Tara got herself a selling table to start selling her produce, “extra” frogs, honey, and other collectables she has found that we aren’t keeping. With that, Tara finishes week one of this challenge, and she has managed to amass 135 points so far. These will be slowing down now that we have the build/buy items out of the way. We will hopefully be back with another update soon, and I hope to see you there! Thanks for reading!
