Comic Summer: Wrap-Up

Post 4.02 | Rules | Family Tree

Welcome back for our final post for this OWBC (Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge). It’s been a fairly crazy ride and I’m glad you decided to stick it out and read through all of it as I got through this challenge. So let’s go over everything and see how we did!

So way back in June when we started this challenge these were what I picked to do:

Island Living (9 points total)

  • Have your founder choose a lot in Mua Pel’am, restore the island, and keep it clean for the remainder of the challenge. (3 points)
  • Your founder needs to compete the beach life aspiration. Your subsequent heirs should complete at least one nature aspiration each. (3 points)
  • By the end of the challenge, both the buried treasure and seashell collections should be complete. (3 points)

Jungle Adventures (9 points total)

  • Founder/ALL heirs must go to Selvadorada to find their spouse…they must be a local. No going to Selvadorada and coming back with a townie who also happened to be on vacation! (3 Points)
  • By end of challenge, one of the Ancient artifact collections need to be complete. (3 Points)
  • Founder/heir must build a relic and use it on someone outside the family. (3 Points)

Realm of Magic (9 points total)

  • Have your founder and all following heirs become a spellcaster. They will need to be turned in game, or born to a previous heir, they can not be made in CAS. (3 points)
  • At the end of the challenge, your final heir should have the ancient bloodline trait. (3 points)
  • Win a duel with each of the three sages. (3 points)

BoolProp Naming Scheme (10 Points)
Naming the first generation’s three children names that start with B, O and O. The second generation’s children would be given names that start with L, P and R. The third generation’s children would be given names that start with O, P and N (for .net, of course!). If twins are born they count as one letter, tough bananas! Name them both with the letter the one child would have been assigned and then you must have another child. So if I had my first generation heir have a boy that I named Larry, then a set of twins I would name them Peter and Paula, because they only count for one letter, I would then have to have them try for another baby to get a Rachel. Additional children born/adopted whether intentionally or accidentally are considered outside the naming scheme and can be named whatever you want.

One Bad Apple (10 Points)
Every generation one of your children will just plain be a bad apple. You get to choose which child it is at birth. Once chosen you cannot change it. A bad apple cannot be controlled until they become a young adult. You can not select your bad apple until they are a teen. You may not view their needs or skills, you may not view anything that you cannot already see with all of the interface fully collapsed. As a child and teen you cannot control them at all. At this point you may also just move them out so they can be controlled by story progression. Having the Bad Apple be taken by a social worker or die before reaching young adult causes you to lose this mini-challenge. You may purchase aspiration rewards that your Bad Apple has rightfully earned. Bonus bonus points if your bad apple earns negative character traits!

Matriarch (10 Points)
You must have your female founder and each of the heiress’ get her three pregnancies from someone outside of the family. You may not marry the father (or mother) or move them in. The heir must be female so strawberries are your friend.

Family Scrapbook (10 Points)
Every member of the family must have either their picture taken, portrait painted (paint from reference) and hung somewhere about the house. You can choose the age or do multiple ages, take group shots or individual pictures, it’s up to you. Your house must contain a picture of everyone that has ever lived in the house by the end of the challenge. Also, each generation, starting with the founder, must write one novel, to keep track of the family’s memories. In total four novels must be written: one by the founder and one by each of the three heirs (first gen, second gen, third gen).

On Ley, Not the Lonely (10 Points)
At the beginning of the challenge you must enable the On Ley Line lot trait, and leave it on for the entire challenge. You must woohoo and give birth on your home lot for the entirety of the challenge. Multiple children will only count as one pregnancy and each generation must still have three pregnancies. Each pregnancy will count as one letter if you are doing the Boolprop Naming Theme mini-challenge. Each child born during the challenge will also need to have at least one character trait (positive or negative) upon finishing their teen years.

Obviously, fairly early on we realized that we had already screwed up and couldn’t do On Ley, Not the Lonely as we hadn’t had babies at home, nor could we do Matriarch as we married Desiree right away. So I decided to do the crazy thing and tackle these:

Workaholics Anonymous (15 Points)
Top any 10 career tracks with any combination of household members!

Aspirational Family (20 Points)
Complete all base game aspirations at least once!

Tricks of the Trade (20 Points)
Max all base game skills at least once, with any combination of household members!

Yes, I was a bit insane, but we managed to accomplish all of it. Let’s run through this a little bit:

Island Living required we cleaned up the island in Sulani, which we did in the first generation. Autumn completed the Beach Life aspiration and then each of the heirs completed a Nature aspiration. Olive and Oriole complete Purveyor of Potions, and Rye completed The Curator. We also finished both the seashell and buried treasure collections.

That provide us with all 3 sets of points for Island Living: +9 Points.

Jungle Adventures required that all spouses came from Selvadorada and be natives (meaning they already had Selvadorada culture maxed). Autumn married Desiree, Olive married Fabiana, and Rye married Analisa, each of whom was a native.

Then Autumn, Olive, Rye, and Oriole had to build a relic and use it on someone outside of the household, which they all did. Finally an artifact collection needed to be completed and we completed the Ancient Omiscan Artifacts.

That completes all 3 sets of points for Jungle Adventures: +9 Points

Realm of Magic, our final selected challenge, required all heirs, and the founder to become (either in game or born) spellcasters Autumn became a spellcaster in the first generation and each heir, Olive, Rye, and Oriole, were born spellcasters. Additionally the final heir needed to have Ancient Bloodline, which Oriole did.

Finally a duel was to be won against each of the sages. Oceana took care of this for us in the second generation.

That completes all 3 sets of points for Realm of Magic: +9 points

The Boolprop Naming Scheme was kept throughout the challenge. We had: Brook/Blossom, Olive, Orca/Oceana, Lily/Lavender, Petunia, Rye/Reed, Oriole/Oryx, Pine, Nerine/Nyala. That is +10 points

One Bad Apple meant there was a child each generation that I could not control, look, or have any “contact” with really until they were a YA sim. I kept this having a bad apple each gen. Olive for gen 1, Petunia for gen 2, and Pine for gen 3. That is +10 points

Family Scrapbook meant each sim needed to have their picture hanging in the house somewhere, and each heir had to write a book. I created “scrapbook” walls for this specific purpose:

The books are sitting on the top of the shelves, but you can see we have each person’s picture and a book written by each heir, and the founder. +10 Points

The super mini-challenges were much harder to complete and took a lot of time and devotion to sitting sims down to skill and do stuff.

Workaholic Anonymous mean maxing any 10 careers, and careers determined to mean, the base career, not the difference branches. This was accomplished by:

  • Autumn: 1 career (Conservation)
  • Fabiana: 1 career (Gardening)
  • Blossom: 1 career (Writing)
  • Brook: 1 career (Style Influencer)
  • Olive: 1 career (Education)
  • Oceana: 2 careers (Tech Guru, Criminal)
  • Lily: 1 career (Critic)
  • Reed: 1 career (Actor)
  • Rye: 1 career (Engineer)

That is 10 unique careers maxed and that is +15 points.

Aspirational Family changed a bit while I was playing so that you only were required to complete all of the base game aspirations and not all of the aspirations. This made it easier and was accomplished by the following:

  • Autumn: 1 BG aspiration (Fabulously Wealthy)
  • Desiree: 1 BG aspiration (Renaissance Sim)
  • Olive: 4 BG aspirations (Bodybuilder, Big Happy Family, Successful Lineage, Master Chef)
  • Fabiana: 1 BG aspiration (Freelance Botanist)
  • Blossom: 1 BG aspirations (Bestselling Author)
  • Brook: 1 BG aspirations (Painter Extraordinaire)
  • Oceana: 5 BG aspirations (Chief of Mischief, Public Enemy, Master Mixologist, Computer Whiz, Joke Star)
  • Orca: 1 BG aspiration (Serial Romantic)
  • Lily: 2 BG aspirations (Musical Genius, Party Animal)
  • Lavender: 2 BG aspirations (Mansion Barron, Nerd Brain)
  • Petunia: 1 BG aspiration (Angling Ace)
  • Rye: 2 BG aspirations (Soulmate, The Curator)
  • Reed: 1 BG aspiration (Friend of the World)

That totals up to 23 aspirations, which is how many BG aspirations there are unless you count the kid aspirations, which were completed at least once across all of the kids. So that gives us +20 Points

The final super mini challenge we took on, Tricks of the Trade was a call to complete all skills at least once. We did manage this by the following:

  • Autumn: 3 unique skills maxed (Archeology, Cooking, Logic)
  • Desiree: 1 unique skill maxed (Selvadoradian Culture)
  • Fabiana: 4 unique skills maxed (Flower Arranging, Gardening, Parenting, Vampire Lore)
  • Blossom: 3 unique skills maxed (Media Production, Wellness, Writing)
  • Brook: 4 unique skills maxed (Dancing, Handiness, Painting, Photography)
  • Orca: 1 unique skill maxed (Charisma)
  • Olive: 4 unique skills maxed (Baking, Fitness, Gourmet Cooking, Research and Debate)
  • Oceana: 6 unique skills maxed (Comedy, DJ Mixing, Mischief, Mixology, Programming, Video Gaming)
  • Lily: 7 unique skills maxed (Bowling, Guitar, Knitting, Piano, Pipe Organ, Singing, Violin
  • Lavender: 1 unique skill maxed (Rocket Science)
  • Petunia: 1 unique skill maxed (Fishing)
  • Reed: 2 unique skills maxed (Acting, Veterinarian)
  • Rye: 2 unique skills maxed (Herbalism, Robotics)
  • Analisa: 1 unique skill maxed (Pet Training)

There are 40 skills in the game for the packs that I have (which leaves out the 2 Eco skills) and if I can math correctly, the count above if 40, which gives us +20 points.

Since no one was ever taken by a social worker there are no negative points for that and we get +3 points for just finishing the challenge, and sharing/blogging it.

If I add up all of those points together:

Island Living: 9
Jungle Adventure: 9
Realm of Magic: 9
Naming Scheme: 10
Bad Apple: 10
Scrapbook: 10
Workaholic: 15
Aspirational: 20
Tricks of the Trade: 20
Finishing/Blogging: 3

TOTAL POINTS: 115 Points

While this score will not be good enough to beat Jenn’s insane 145 points, I feel very good about this score and am happy to have completed this challenge. I hope this post didn’t bore you too much and a lot of it was for me to make sure I added up the score properly, so if you see something wrong in my math let me know!

Thank you again for all of those who have been reading along this whole time, or if you are new and just read through this whole story, thank you as well, for taking the time to read and follow and comment if you did that. Now we can get back to some of our other stories, which I hope you will check out as well!

Comic Summer: Post 4.02

Post 4.01 | Rules | Family Tree | Wrap-up

Welcome back once again to Comic Summer. We are winding down this challenge and have completed all of our goals. I’m not even going to post my generation requirements this time as there is nothing left to do but to have the girls become young adults, so let’s see if we can finish this thing up!

We start with Oriole having a duel with one of the sages. I was hoping to get some knowledge because here is what has happened. Nerine got herself a curse from failing a potion, so Oriole went to learn the potion of curse cleansing.

I just love how this pictures makes it look like Analisa is looking at her achievement.

Analisa: I managed to learn to dance as an elder.

Yes you did, although you already knew HOW, you are just now very skilled at it

Analisa: But why is my name wrong? There is no space.

I know, but I had to change it so I could save your without warnings about your name being “unallowed.”

With the girls, and technically Pine, still in school and Oriole starting at the university, there is still lots of homework to be done and everyone is very diligent at working on it.

This is Oriole’s class load for this semester. Since he’s only going to get through this one I decided to give me four. I love that you an take an elective dance class, so we did that! 🙂

The family updates were a little insane this time. The triplets and Marigold grew in toddlers, multiple of the child grew up, and Daisy is having a baby with her husband.

Our sweet boy, Basil, is out haunting again and Oriole takes time to give him all the attention he needs. I really love this dog, he’s so sweet!

Then it’s off to university where he attends class, does some homework, and participates in a debate. The debate didn’t go so great, but it was done on a whim, so there wasn’t much preparation put in.

More homework is being done back at home and we can see Analisa cooking up something back there. We still have a plethora of food in the fridge from Olive so what could it be?

Why it’s a cake for Pine, who is ready to fly the nest. He blows out his candles, spins into a Young Adult, and decides to go live with his uncle Reed’s wife and son to help them out. He manages to get two positive character traits in the form of Compassionate and Mediator. He adds Hates Children to Child of the Ocean and Lazy. He had B’s all through school and was a pretty successful ‘bad apple’ overall.

Lily and Oceana were out today and I think Lily was making Oceana made, which did not make for happy plumbing. We were still remember to fix things at noon, or I just simply bought new stuff, which started happening frequently.

A bunch more updates from around the family and one of which makes us realize it was good we moved Pine where we did. Hope, Reed’s wife, passed away and that would have left their son Cotton to be adopted.

Nerine is still working on scouting badges, and got this rather pretty, and one I don’t remember, painting. It’s really quite fun and I believe I kept this one to hang in the house.

This set is just to say, I had Oriole out fishing for Anglefish, and apparently this is a good spot for it. I also never realized how pretty it is back here with the steamboat and stuff. So why was Oriole fishing for Anglefish, well Nerine is still cursed. Not only does she have the curse she had, but once Oriole learned the curse cleansing potion the “sample” he got and gave to her gave her ANOTHER curse, and they were out of Anglefish. Luckily he catches what he needs and she is all better after this.

Or, well, at least she’s no longer cursed. Instead she gets sick and has to take some medication. Poor thing has had a rough go lately.

Oriole finally gets a familiar, this is Sunbird I believe, the phoenix. I think he suits Oriole just fine.

Homework and studying of some kind is almost never done around here as the family plugs along towards the end of this challenge.

Some of the family goes to visit Pine and Cotton and you can see poor Nerine is sick yet again. That poor girl got so sickly here towards the end. It was a nice, if fairly short, visit.

Nerine has gotten to know Tulip better and now they hang out together fairly often. It’s sort of fun to have the cousins together a little bit.

So the first two pictures are from the longest breakfast in the history of the sims. Analisa got up and made fresh pancakes, which was quite a treat, and the 3 kids were all at the table too. Analisa and Rye, at different times, got up and hugged each of the kids. So they would all sit down, Analisa would get up with Nyala and give her a hug, then they would sit back down, then Rye would get up with Nyala and give her a hug too, and then they would sit back down. It took HOURS. Then the teens invited over a bunch of cousins for movie watching.

A small extended family set of updates, but not a smaller family. Jay’s wife Kyra passes as their son Wasp ages up, and then Cyprus finally marries, and Daisy get’s a set of triplets all her own.

The family decides to get everyone together from the family that they can and throws a big house party/family reunion and many members attend.

Right after the party, sadly, Rye gets struck by lightning and then passes away. He actually passed away from old age, but you can’t help but think that the lightning didn’t help. The whole family is very sad.

It’s not all bad as Oriole gets himself straight A’s in college and then signs up for 3 more classes, which he won’t get to complete.

That doesn’t stop him from getting a head start on homework, especially as it gives him something to do to take his mind off losing his dad.

Another large set of family updates is here again. Daisy’s triplets are now toddlers, and many of the other kids have gotten older, including Tulip and Thyme.

And so one more party is thrown, ice cream is made and enjoyed, family is brought over to celebrate. It’s not only a big birthday party, but the celebration of the end of this challenge.

Our final kids are now young adults and ready to head out into the world. Nyala completed her scouting aptitude, got Responsible and Compassionate, and added Genius to her traits. Nerine also got her scouting aptitude, achieved Good Manners and Responsible, and added squeamish to her traits.

With that this challenge officially comes to an end and we will send it off with a final extended family collection. Let’s run through these guys really quickly. First row we have Stratus as a child, he’s the son of Glen and Cherish. Next up is Cyprus’ wife Karly. Beside Karly is Buttercup as a child, then Daisy’s triplets, Verbena, Poppy, and Grizzly. Finally on the top row we have Cherry, and her twin Doe starts the next line. They are Rose’s twin girls. Next to Doe is Wasp, Jay’s son, then Crow, Glen’s son. Next is Honey, Cyprus’ youngest, and then we have a grown up Cotton followed by the twins Barley and Blade. On the bottom row we start with Marigold, Hawk’s daughter, then we have Robin, Cyprus’ other daughter, and Dove, Jay’s daughter. To wrap up the final row we have Lake’s triplets, Mazus, Lupine, and Aster, and last but not least, Rose’s son Lark.

Thanks for sticking with me through all of this challenge and I will have a wrap up post here in just a few minutes if it’s not there already!

Post 3.13 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.02

Welcome to the first update of our final generations updates for the OWBC. We are about 2 or 3 updates from the end as it will depend a lot on how much happens with the family from here on out.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

Generation Three Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have the Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take final picture

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (10 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (40 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (27 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So last time with the family we finished that final base game aspiration and got Oriole through the relic requirement. We just have a few more things to complete and so let’s see if we can get through them here.

The party we had thrown for the boys continued a little into the night at after it was over Oryx moved out and into his own home. He is out in the world for MCCC to determine if anything more will happen with him.

Pine gets his picture taken for the family scrapbook wall and we only need 3 more to complete that challenge. Once the girls become teens and then one of Oriole now that he is heir and gets his book written.

Speaking of books, it takes a couple of sit downs at the computers, and a few distractions, but Oriole gets his part of the anthology completed. That’s another goal down for him and we really just need to get him through his aspiration.

I had forgotten to mention it earlier but Analisa managed to actually complete Super Parent when Oryx grew up with his three character value traits. in the positive. Both her and Rye have gotten the Big Happy Family one next.

We started to get “bored” right around here since there wasn’t a ton to do left but to wait for everyone to grow up so we watched the extended family updates a lot. A couple pairs of the twins grew up, Lake, who is Petunia’s oldest, is having a baby, and Reed’s boy is a child.

Apparently something was causing issues with completing chess games for a while. The girls both were nearly maxed mental skill after hours of sitting at the chess table, but had made zero progress on the aspiration, so I just said “forget it.”

Oriole, while working on potions, managed to curse himself with some sort of frightening curse. I can’t remember exactly what it was, but luckily he had a Curse Cleansing potion from before. It fixed him right up in no time.

Kyra, Jay’s wife, is now an elder, while Ivy, Bay’s only girl, is now a teen, and we had some deliveries too. Birch now has a second daughter, and Rose had twins!

This might have been TV premier night, but I can’t remember, but certainly most of the family gathered together. Nerine might be working on scouting badges.

For some reason I think Pine has started asking Oriole for advise instead of his parents. I get asking your older brother, but Oriole doesn’t have the parenting skills to give me many options.

With Oriole’s book done we adjusted the walls a little bit to put the shelf up so it could be center and not in the corner like before. We also got Oriole’s picture up and all that’s left is the girls.

Speaking of the girls it was time for their birthday once again. Both of them completed a single aspiration since Whiz Kid broke and we didn’t force a new one. Their make-overs completed and I’m showing a secondary outfit to what they had in the poll. Nyala adds slob and creatively gifted to her mean trait. She rolls Fabulously Wealthy for her aspiration. Nerine adds materialistic and socially gifted to her goofball trait, and rolls Jungle Explorer for her aspiration.

Then, of course, in true sims fashion they do their homework together sitting on the bathroom floor. Could have walked across the “hall” to the table, but oh well. It’s nice to know some things, like the importance of bathrooms in a sims life, never really change.

Oriole has taken up much of the gardening, and while he’s out there he practices a little magic. I haven’t gotten him a familiar yet, but want to do that at some point.

These two are still very sweet and very much in love with each other. They might be rivaling Autumn and Desiree as my favorite couple this challenge.

Sadly the family is ready to go through another sad period where many of our elder sims start to pass away. We start with Rye’s twin, Reed passing. Then Misty, Orca’s daughter is next, but then we get a happy birthday to Oak.

With the girls becoming teens we are able to get their pictures and finish up our family scrapbook walls. That means they are all completed and we have finished that mini-challenge. I’m quite happy with how the walls turned out.

Then Oriole goes and finishes up the final requirement for this challenge other than the girls becoming young adults. He finishes a nature aspiration and just to give me, and him, something to do he takes on Academic next.

One of the first things Oriole needed to do was to gain research and so he heads up to work on his grandma Olive’s research machine.

Oryx comes over for a visit and the whole family gathers, although I’m not sure where Rye is at this moment, maybe he’s taking the picture. The siblings are happy to see Oryx again and hang out.

Then, while Nerine works on her arts and crafts badge upstairs, Oriole argues about college with his parents. Not in terms of where to go, or how to pay for it, but more, what to study. Since it’s the end of the challenge he won’t complete anything, but hopefully it will still be fun.

Lots of extended family updates happen then and some craziness ensues as well. First Cyprus is now an adult, and then Hawk and Danna welcome a little girl. Buttercup, Birch’s daughter, is now a toddler, Lake and Esmeralda welcome TRIPLETS to the extended family. Rose’s twin daughter, Cherry and Doe, are toddlers, and finally, Kellie, Wade’s wife, passes away leaving Barley and Blade to be adopted out. When I went to look for these two Barley was gone. He was no longer in the family tree, nothing. So I ended up going back to a previous save, pulling him out of it and adding him back in. Then I had both boys move in with their older brothers instead and messed up all kinds of the relationships trying too fix everything in this branch of the family.

Regardless of all of that though, it was time for one more birthday for this update and it’s Analisa’s turn. There isn’t a ton of fanfare because I almost forgot to make her a cake, but she is now an elder like her husband.

Analisa’s birthday feels like a great place to end this update and so it’s once again time too review all the people who have grown up or come into this crazy family.

On the top row we find Averie Adair, who married Bay. Next two her are two of our baby mama’s, Danna Padilla who had Hawk’s baby, and Esmeralda Yost, who just had triplets with Lake. Next up a couple sets of twins. First is Tulip and Thyme, Petunia’s twins. Second row we start with Elm and then Eagle, Bay’s twins. Then we have their siblings Oak, who is the youngest, and Ivy, the only girl. Last up on that middle row we have Cotton, Reed’s boy.

Finally, on the bottom row we have all the toddlers from this update. We start with Rose’s twins, Cherry and then Doe. Next is a closer look at Buttercup, Birch’s youngest, and then finally we have Honey Farr, who is Cyprus’ daughter, and finally Crow Dolan, who is Glen’s youngest.

That will wrap up our update for this time and I hope we will see you next update where I think we will likely finish up this challenge.

Comic Summer: Post 3.13

Post 3.12 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.01

Hello and welcome back to another update for the Comic Summer. We are down to a couple of updates left. I’m not sure if we’ll have 3 or 4 updates left, but we are close. So last time we announced that Oriole was the final heir of the challenge. So let’s look at our final requirements:

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

Generation Three Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have the Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take final picture

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (10 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (40 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So I just removed the “on-going” challenges from the second generations requirements, and moved them down to the final generation requirements. We have already marked off the being a spellcaster and having ancient bloodline as Oriole has had those since birth. Let’s get going.

We start with our girls becoming best friends, which isn’t terribly hard to do with twins, and gets us closer to finishing up Nerine’s social butterfly aspiration. It’s so nice to have twins who are friends with each other for this aspiration.

It’s another homework and journaling party for the kids. Analisa needs one of the kids to get 3 positive character traits, so we are taking the kids volunteering and writing in journals whenever we can.

Then it’s a super sad evening as our loyal and wonderful dog, Basil, passes into the next life. We will miss you Basil, Analisa especially!!! It was too soon!

We set up a special table on the balcony upstairs with the rest or our urns. Basil was a wonderful dog and I know the family is going to miss him terribly.

Since Nerine needs to make friends with additional adults we invite over members of the family. Rose heads up stairs and talks with Nerine and you can see in the background one of the family scrapbook walls.

It’s time again for some additional extended family updated, and we have quite a few this time. Cyprus and Glen are Wade’s oldest sons and they are both going to have babies for their own. Then Birch finally gets married, and Daisy, whom I had figured was going to be single all her life, married her long time roommate Vincent Dreamer.

Nerine continues to try and make friends with the family members who are over. This time it’s Jay and Petunia. She doesn’t quite become friends with either of them, but she is getting close.

It’s back to Winterfest once again and the family gathers to celebrate. They share a grand meal cooked by Analisa, Nerine works on her friendship with Jay and presents are opened. It’s a good time by all.

That evening the boys head out to go finish and try to finish up their outdoor adventure badges. It does finally work and both boys finish up their badges and reach Llamacorn Scout.

Sadly, that evening we find out that Petunia has passed away. Then a couple of our kids are teens, Buck is Misty’s son, and Aspen is Birch’s daughter.

Then we finally get notice that Rye has completed our final aspiration. He achieved the Soulmate goals and we are not just counting down until the girls turn into young adults.

We have a little ways to go with that though, and Pine sort so surprises up by growing up his the toddlers bedroom without fanfare. Sorry Pine. Here he is after his make-over. He obviously never got through a child aspiration, but he gets Child of the Ocean trait, and Friend of the animals as an aspiration.

Additionally updates are here again, this time Birch’s twin Bay is getting married, Kyra and Jay welcome a new little girl named Dove, Cherish and Glen welcome a little boy name Stratus, and Hope, Reed’s wife, has turned into an elder.

Additional time with multiple members of the expanded family get Nerine through more of her social butterfly aspiration. She is also getting to know Blade and Barley, Wade’s youngest two kids with his wife. Then she traveled to meet and get to know Tulip and Thyme.

Thankfully shortly after getting home Nerine finishes up her aspiration by finishing up her social skill. She next chooses the go for Whiz Kid, and she might have enough time to complete it.

Oriole heads to the magic realm again and while he is there we decide to go ahead and put together one of the relics, and then use one on someone in the next room. This completes one of the requirements for him.

It’s New Years again and Reed comes over to celebrate with the family. Everyone makes their resolutions and they enjoy the new years programs on television. It was a good night for the family and it’s hard to believe there is another year down.

After the new year turns over we get a visit from our lovely boy Basil. Oryx was happy to see Basil and spent some good time petting him and playing with him in his ghost form.

Time for our final update about the extended family for this update and this time Rose and her husband are expecting, Birch and his new wife are expending, and finally little Dove, Jay’s daughter is a toddler now.

It’s time for the much anticipated birthdays that will spell the final transition to the final generation’s goals for this challenge. After blowing out the candles, and the family did throw a bit of a party, Oriole and Oryx are now young adults. Oryx gets the final traits of Active, Responsible, Emotional Control, and Compassionate. Oriole gets his traits Perfectionist and Responsible.

We are going to get ready too this update but first we will go through all the extended family members we have added or who grew up this time. First up we have the newest baby mama’s and spouses. Anita Dolan is Glen’s newest baby mama, and Maren Farr is Cyprus’. Next to them is Birch’s wife Lucille Kealoha, and of course Daisy’s husband Vincent Dreamer.

On the last two rows are all of the kids. We have Buck Comic, Misty’s son, Aspen, Birch’s daughter, then is Lark, Rose’s son, and finally Barley and then Birch, which are Wade’s twins. On the bottom row we have Wasp, Jay’s son, Cotton is next in purple, and is Reed’s son. Our final three toddlers are Robin, Cyprus’ eldest, Stratus, Glen’s eldest, and finally Dove, Jay’s youngest.

Thanks for joining us for anything update and we will be back again soon with what might be the final update or two. If you want more details about the extended family I suggest checking out the family tree below.

Well it’s been quite the break for me again, so it is time to get this post out there and to give you the results of the final heir poll so you know who is taking over the final few updates of this challenge. So, let’s first get to the results.

So just who became heir?

Was it Oryx…

…?

Or perhaps Oriole…

…?

Maybe Pine…

…?

Or was it Nerine…

…?

Could it be Nyala…

…?

The heir is…

Oriole Comic!!

Congrats to Oriole, who was a no-brainier favorite. This vote wasn’t even really close and I will show you the table in a second. That mean we will end this challenge with a male heir and Oriole will have the final “challenges” to complete.

This is the table of results. Oryx had gotten no votes, and since it was clear who was going to win, I threw him a vote just for fun. I was really torn between wanting one of the girls or Oriole so I’m super happy with this choice.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (9 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (39 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So, we are down to needing pictures taken this generation and then the final few things from Rye (career, skill, and aspiration.) We will have a handful of things for Oriole to do when he’s a YA, but for now let’s see how far we get.

We start with working on badges with Oryx. He didn’t get the young scientist badge as a child, so it’s time to focus on the last badges in his teen years.

Analisa works on teaching Nerine either to say sorry or to say thank you. I can’t remember which, but she is such a god mom.

Rye finally maxes out the career for Engineering. I had too look up if it went beyond 10, but from what I can see it doesn’t, and it mentions in the description that we’ve reached the pinnacle, so I’m marking it off.

Analisa can now go into Full Parent mode. A mode I will likely never use again, but she needed to reach it once for the Super Parent aspiration, and so we did.

Multi-tasking parenting, as I believe Oryx was asking for advise, while eating and mom was trying to get the twins to sleep. It’s almost their birthday and I am so ready to not have toddlers anymore.

Our first of many family updates to come. Ivy grows too a child, Wasp too a toddler, and Hope and Reed welcome a little boy named Cotton.

We then get to say, Happy HarvestFest from the Comic’s. It’s a busy day with the twins taking care of the younger twins, cooking of the grand meal, eating of the grand meal and poor Basil getting surrounded by gnomes.

We also have finally maxed out the final skill for this challenge. Rye only needs to finish up the aspiration and we will have completed all of our Super Mini-Challenges. I did not think we were going to make it there for a bit!

Cake pictures means it’s time for the girls to grow into children. Their brother Pine is there too cheer them on while daddy Rye helps them blow out the candles.

It maybe not be the blow outs the family have had in the past, but the kids all sit down to play a video game together to celebrate no more toddlers in the house! It’s a fun day.

Here are the girls after make-overs. Nyala is first, in the yellow with the longer hair. She got Mean as her first trait. Nerine is in the pink and she got Goofball for her first. Both girls got Top-Notch Toddler and Nyala is going for artistic prodigy while Nerine is going for Social Butterfly.

We have additional birthdays happening in the rest of the family too. Birch and Bay are Orca’s sons, and they are adults, Glen is Wade’s son and he’s an YA and so is Lavender’s son Hawk, and finally Oak, who is Bay’s youngest is a child.

All of the current generation all together and most of them even sitting at the same time. It’s a rare occasion. Looks like some homework, eating, socializing, and cleaning are all taking place.

Since we needed outdoor adventure badge points the kids all went to Windenburg to fish. None of them finish this trip, but it’s done before too much longer within the next day or so.

It’s time to get the boys pictures up on the family scrapbook walls so pictures are taken. The final kids will get their pictures taken when they become teens themselves.

So both boys have the Purveyor of Potions aspiration, if you didn’t remember that, which I really didn’t, and so that requires a trip to the magical realm. While there the boys, and Rye, searched for tomes they don’t already have at home, bought some supplies, and practiced potion making.

Back at home all of the kids come home from a scouts meeting and start to write in their journals. They are all fairly stressed out and tense kids for some reason, so we spend a lot of time journaling.

Another evening and that means another set of family updates as well. We have Jay having a baby with his wife, Cyprus (Wade’s oldest) and Glen (Wade’s second oldest) are also having kids, and Cotton, Reed’s son is now a cute toddler!

It is obviously a Monday as it’s school project day so all the kids work outside to finish their projects while enjoying the evening on the island. It really is pretty on this island.

It’s also now time for Rye to become an elder. Hard to believe it’s already time for him to be “old” now. We still need to finish up the aspiration, but Rye has done really well as the final father of this challenge.

As we get ready to end this particular update, which I knew I was hoping to get all the way through the teen years, feels like a better place to stop, we have a final set of family updates. Kellie, Misty, and Reed all grow into elders as well. Lark, Barley, and Blade are all now children. I suggest looking at the Family Tree link below if you want more info.

We don’t have a ton of people to look at from the extended family this time, but let’s go through it. First up we have Keira Ishikawa who is Cyprus’ baby mama. Cyprus is Orca’s grandson. Next is Cherish Rock, who is Glen’s baby mama. Glen is Cyprus’ brother. Finally on the top we have Lake, who is Petunia’s oldest. Shane Perez is the first on the bottom row, and he is Rose’s new husband. Then we have 3 kids. First is Ivy and then her half brother Oak, Bay’s youngest two, and then Wasp, Jay’s son.

All right that is going to be all we do for now. Thanks for joining me and we will be through this challenge soon I think and I just need to get it blogged.

Post 3.10 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 3.12

Hello, welcome back, I’m a little late in getting this posted today, but I’m excited too bring you what is likely the next to last update for this generation! We are so so so very close to being done and I’m excited to see how it ends!

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (9 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (39 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So we checked off all but the last career, last skill, and last aspiration….all of which Rye is working on right now. Rye does still need to write a book, and we need to finish up pictures as the kids get older, but we are close. So let’s check in.

I decided to do something kind of fun for my family scrapbook walls. I put a shelf with a flower in a vase commemorating the heir/ess color for that generation and then placed the book they wrote on the shelf. Now, there is nothing to stop someone from carrying one off, and that has happened, but I just usually put it back. I think it makes a pretty memorial.

We start with our three boys of this generation. Will one of them win the heir poll? There is one more day (or a handful of hours depending on how quickly I get this written up, in order to vote, so if you haven’t yet, we are all for more votes.

In order to get through the herbalism, Rye is going to need more forest plants, so he goes ahead and plants the ones we brought home Garden bot is right there to tend them. My garden bot disappeared at some point though, as did cleaning bot and I only found the “pile” for one of them.

Rye sits down to write his portion of the family Anthology and while he broke the computer, we just ended up replacing it so he could get it done. It gets added to his shelf and that is one more thing done.

Sadly we get the news that Lavender had passed away. That will make the family very sad for quite a while. She added one son to the extended family.

The final twins, the N-twins, are just too adorable. I really do love these two girls, but the sadness of the whole family, even though we are drinking potions and stuff are not helping these two get their skills. We keep having lots of deaths.

Our lovely Analisa sits down with her babies and reads them a story. Not only does this give them a chance to eat and skill at the same time, but gives Analisa some time with her baby girls.

Bubbles, I have discovered, is bath time. So when I see the girls asking for bubbles I know where the parents are headed. They are usually clean kids, but this is also not helping their skills any. We might have another set of non-skilled toddlers on our hands.

But really, can we be too upset about them? They are so cute in their matching dresses and the sunset outside is absolutely lovely over our flock of flamingos.

I want Basil in real life. He helps his boys feel better after yet another set of deaths rock the family. Not family, but plenty of friends are passing at this point. I’m trying to get the boys through the artistic prodigy but this family is just a mess right now.

We get a lot of extended family updates in a row. Petunia grows into a elder, Lark is Rose’s son and is now a toddler, as are Barley and Blade. Reed is also expecting his first child with his wife.

I found this picture, and scenario kind of funny. We have both Fabiana (in the front) and Desiree out (you can barley make her out in front of the plants). Fabiana is busy mourning Desiree, and Desiree is mourning Lily.

Monday’s mean school projects and both Analisa and Rye helps their eldest boys with them the first night, because we can control them. I’m hoping Analisa will help Pine with his.

Analisa and Rye continue to work on his aspiration and take the rocket for a little fun together. I find the hearts coming out as the rocket takes off pretty fun.

Another set of family updates later and we learn that Jay and Kyra have a little boy named Wasp, Thyme and Tulip are children, as are Eagle and Elm. So many birthdays!

Basil grows into an elder dog and is feeling a little bit neglected. Analisa used to spend all day with him, but with the twins we’ve had our hands full taking care of everyone.

Basil doesn’t feel down for long though as the boys love Basil too and love to play with him and pet him. Before long Basil feels much better and adores his whole family. He’s such a good boy!

It’s finally time for our boys to grow up and I realized, in the poll that I switched the colors on boys. Initially I thought I labeled them wrong, but it was just the color that was off. So this is Oryx who grows up first.

Then it was Oriole’s turn. Both boys are handsome and they still look VERY similar, although their eyebrows are different, which is where I realized I colored them wrong. Both boys actually grew up into their respective colors, which helped.

So here they are as teens. Oriole in the orange, and Oryx in the white (with orange stripes). Oriole added Bro, and Oryx got Hates Children, so this will be a fun house for him. They both are going to do Purveyor of Potions to knock out nature aspirations for both just in case.

To wrap up this update we have our extended family photo album. We start with Bay’s twins, this is Elm and then next to him is his twin brother Eagle. The next two are also twins, this is Thyme and Tulip, Petunia’s kids. On the second line we have yet another set of twins, this time Wade’s boys, Blade followed by Barley. Finally we have 2 boys that are only cousins (lots of twins this generation.) First is Bay’s youngest boy (Elm and Eagle’s half brother) Oak Fyres. Finally, looking very much like his cousin Barley is Rose’s son Lark.

Thanks for joining us again and we might get all the way through teen year next time or we might split it into two, we’ll see what happens. Until next time, thanks for reading!

Hello and welcome back! We are going to have our final heir poll at the end of this update and I hope you are excited to vote! I am excited to see who you pick so I can get through this challenge and be done!! Let’s take a very fast look at our goals.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (8 of 9)
  • Workaholics (9 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (37 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So nothing really changed from the last update, but Rye does have the required writing skill to do his book and we should be wrapping up some skills this update, so let’s hop in. This is going to be a slightly longer update, so I hope you won’t mind!

We start with Rye bathing Basil, who is still a terrific dog and is still around. Analisa gives him lots of love and hugs, and training. He’s just the best dog but had gotten a bit dirty.

You may or may not remember that Petunia had twins a couple of updates back, and now they are toddlers, Tulip and Thyme. Maura Fyres is one of Bay Comic’s girls, and she gave him another little boy named Oak.

The final baby, Baby N, is on it’s way and none too soon either since Rye is preparing a trip to the forest to gather up plants for his herbalism skill. This is the last skill we need to get high levels. So Analisa is going to have to go through most of this pregnancy alone.

This is apparently the only picture of Rye I have in the forest, where he is hanging out with the hermit from the woods. He manages to find all but one of the plants, gets all but one of those identified and learned the special herbalism concoction from the hermit. Then we headed home.

Where we find a VERY pregnant Analisa. She has kept working with Basil, and has been busy teaching Pine some of his skills so she can get her parenting maxed out. Which she does finally learn to do. That should help with the baby or babies when they come. If tradition holds, Analisa should have twins again.

Loyal Basil, never far from his favorite sims. If it isn’t Analisa it’s one of the O-twins. He really seems to love this family and I adore having him as a dog. He is full trained at this point, so Analisa just needs to practice with him a little more to max her skill.

After the trip to the forest Rye focuses on completing his robotics skill and thus, hopefully, getting the final promotion in his career. Oceana is out again “helping” Rye with his craft. Before long, however, we not only have a good quality cleaning bot, but robotics has been maxed!

Another night another extended family update. Now Aspen and Buck (Birch and Misty’s kids) are children and Cyprus (Wade’s eldest) is a YA and might be ready to start a family of his own soon.

Oceana still likes to dance and Oriole practices his dance moves with his aunt. Rye works on reading up a little more on herbalism so he can hopefully concoct enough herbal remedies to finish that skill.

The final birth is finally here, and while Analisa goes through the pains of labor we head to the hospital, where amazingly, the same person who delivered Oryx and Oriole is the same person to deliver these final babies. Yes, babies, it’s a set of twin girls!

Welcome to the challenge little Nyala and little Nerine. Analisa is happy to be done with that pregnancy and she is ready to take care of these last two little babies for this challenge!

Back at home, the flamingo flock has been added to with the final flamingo’s of the challenge It’s quite a flock for sure, but I’m glad there won’t be any more added, this is plenty!

We also get one final look of Rye being an adorable toddler because it’s almost his birthday. This is the first toddler I’ve had play on the chair and it’s so cute!

But as I said, it was birthday time. Analisa baked up a cake and then had to go tend to the N-twins while Rye brought little Pine to the cake. He grows up very handsome and looks different from his brothers. He went from Independent to Lazy and got Social Butterfly. He did not even get to Happy Toddler, and won’t complete his aspiration since he’s a Bad Apple and there is no way I’m getting through Social Butterfly without control.

He quickly goes over and hangs out with one of his older brothers while they finish up the motor skill. Both Oriole and Oryx finish up the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration and get the Artistic Prodigy aspiration added next.

We have a few more updates from the extended family. Jay is expecting a new baby with his wife Kyra, and then 3 more babies were added to the family. Rose had a little boy, and Kellie (Wade’s wife) added twins.

Analisa, with just a little additional work with Basil has mastered our next to last skill, Pet Training. We have one skill left to finish and that is herbalism, but that is going to take up a bit more time.

Analisa celebrates her accomplishments with her husband.

Ok you too, be careful with that. The last time that happened, the two behind you happened.

Analisa: You worry too much, no more babies for us.

Rye: Yeah, but don’t expect me to keep my hands off my wife.

Jumping slightly forward in time and it’s time for the final babies to grow into toddlers. It’s hard to believe we are this close to being done. Once the heir poll ends we will have until these 2 grow into YA or Adults (depending on who gets chosen) to complete the final goals.

Little Nyala, held by her daddy, and little Nerine in Analisa’s arms grow up together. They are not identical, but they are very similar. Both of them end up rolling silly as their trait as toddlers. That should be fun. Nerine is a spellcaster, but Nyala is not sadly. So while it’s easy enough to change her, that means Pine and Nyala are not at the top of the heir poll wish list.

Analisa takes one of the babies down to play in the kiddie pool. I love this thing, it’s so cute! It makes them both playful. After that is done we got do some make-overs.

Here are the final two kids for this generation. Nerine, which is a flower that can range from white to crimson gets pink for her color, and Nyala is an antelope type creature and therefore gets brown and sometimes orange for hers. I thin they are adorable!

Both girls get hats like their mom for warm weather outfits, and we get started on potty training right away. However, this update is getting long enough and we still need to do an heir poll, so that will be it for the family. I know you don’t get to know Nyala and Nerine much before the poll, but this is really just about who carries us to the end.

Before that, however, let’s look really quick at the extended family updates.

We start with Aspen, the daughter of Birch and Kayla. Then we have Buck, Misty’s son. Last on the top row is Ivy, Bay’s only daughter so far. On the bottom row are Bay’s twin son’s (so brothers to Ivy) Elm and then Eagle. They have a different mother than Ivy and are very close in age. The final two adorable kids are Petunia’s twins with her husband, Thyme and Tulip. They are super cute.

And to wrap up everything this time we have the promised heir poll. So who will take us over the finish line of this challenge? To recap what they will need to do, they will need to write a book, create a relic and use it on someone outside the household, be a spell caster, and complete a nature aspiration.

So your choices are, starting on the left:

  • Oryx Comic (Orange): Spellcaster, Self-Assured, Active, Hates Children
  • Oriole Comic (White): Spellcaster, Outgoing, Bro, Perfectionist
  • Pine Comic (Gray): Bad Apple, Non-spellcaster, Lazy, Hates Children*, Child of the Ocean*
  • Nyala Comic (Brown): Non-spellcaster, Mean*, Snob*, Genius*
  • Nerine Comic (Pink): Spellcaster, Goofball*, Materialistic*, Squeamish*

So my current choice would be either Oryx or Oriole as they can get their goals done before their sisters are YA and that would end the challenge a little earlier. Since I’m already done with basically all of the goals this would be ideal, but I love the girls too and will abide by either decision.

Thanks for voting for the final heir, we are that much closer to being done with this challenge and the poll will close on the morning of the 26th, so get your votes it!

Post 3.08 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 3.10

Welcome back once again to the Comic’s! We are one pregnancy away from seeing the final generation of this challenge born and we will need to have one more heir poll so I know who needs to right the final book, build the final relic, and complete a final nature aspiration. That is still another update away more than likely, so let’s get to looking at our goals yet again.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (8 of 9)
  • Workaholics (9 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (37 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So, as you can see, we are down to writing books and finishing up pictures, and need 1 pregnancy, 1 career, 1 aspiration, and 3 skills mastered still. So I’m very close to meeting all these goals. Last time we met Pine and are ready to have Reed move out to make room for a final baby. So let’s get to it!

We will start with some updates from the extended family. Lavender is now an elder, which means she will only have the one child, Hawk, even though she just married Ellis. Bay is having a baby of his own, which means almost all of Orca’s children will have their own children now, Rose being the final exception.

I apparently missed getting grow up pictures for the O-twins. I was working so hard to finish up the final skills and the boys didn’t end up getting a cake. We did bake a cake, but right before the final skill was learned they grew up on their own. So Oriole keeps his orange color and replaced Wild with Outgoing for his trait. He did manage to get Top-Notch Toddler. His twin, Oryx, kept a white/brown color scheme and only got to Happy Toddler, just missing that final thinking skill. He replaced his Charmer trait with Self-Assured and both boys rolled Rambunctious Scamp as their first aspiration.

During this time Analisa has gotten to level 9 of parenting and hugs away a lot of sadness or frustration from her kids. I’m so close to having super efficient parenting, which I’m excited for for the final baby. We also have moved Reed out of the house, and he is on his own and at the mercy of MCCC now.

I had no idea that dogs could go swimming and it’s adorable too watch him run down to the beach with the boys to go swimming. Both of the boys are working on their motor skills and having the ocean right there is a great for keeping them active.

Clearly I was busy doing lots of other things while baby Pine was a baby because it’s time for him to grow into a toddler. I have to remember that Pine is the bad apple and therefore cannot direct him. He is a cutie though!

After a bit of a make-over here is what Pine looks like. His color, as should be obvious by his name, is dark green. Pine gets the Independent trait, which is great for him as a bad apple as he’ll be doing a lot on his own.

Petunia has twins, a boy and a girl, which is super fun. I’m hoping maybe we can get Pine and these two together as I have never had a chance to do a toddler play date. Bay is also going to have another baby, however, it’s with a different woman then it was last time. So far he doesn’t seem interested in getting married.

It’s Love Day again and so Analisa and Rye head out to the Sulani beach to hang out together and spend some time away from the house. This gives us another gold date, and I believe this gives us all the dates we need for Soulmate, and we just need them to do more romantic interactions.

Little Pine is very cute, and he is good at asking for things he needs. This is good since I can’t control him myself, so he gets fed in the high chair more often then most of the other kids in this family.

She hasn’t been seen a lot lately, but sadly Lily tells us it’s time for her to go. It’s hard to believe that Lily is already passing, especially as Rye is still only and adult, but there was a large age gap between Lily and Lavender and Rye and Reed. Autumn and Desiree were both out to mourn the passing of their granddaughter.

With the entire family sad about the passing of Lily we also get notice of a couple of birthdays. Rose, one of Orca’s daughter, is now an adult while Hawk, Lavender’s son, is now a teen.

Since the boys both need to play on a playground, that weekend we take them to a park and let them play. It takes a bit, as the family was still fighting some sadness over Lily’s death, but both boys reach that initial milestone.

Analisa and Rye watch their current youngest as he sleeps and discuss the final pregnancy.

Rye: Should we try soon?? I know he’s still a toddler, but I still need to head into the forest.

Analisa: I think we should. We want one more, and the watcher says we need one more. We have plenty of room.

While the couple heads off to go try for another baby, the rest of the family is also expanding Wade and his wife are expecting, and Rose, the only one of Orca’s kids up until now to not have kids, is also expecting.

It’s not just babies happening either. Jay gets married, and if she looks familiar it’s because she is also Birch’s baby mama. That’s right, Jay married his cousins girl. I don’t know if they were still together, but Jay will help raise Birch’s daughter Aspen. Then both Reed and Misty get married as well.

As we prepare to see if the final babies for this generation are on their way, it’s first time for Analisa to age up into a full adult. Rye, of course, has been here for a while already, and Oceana was out to haunt tonight as well.

As we prepare to wrap up this entry, and be prepared for an heir poll at the end of the next update, we have a look at the latest extended family portraits. This is almost becoming a tradition at this point with how many members there are. If you want more details on these guys check out the family tree link. I try to keep it updated to where I am, but there also might be a few spoilers for the extended family if you care.

Ok, from the top left we have a grown up Hawk, Lavender’s son, next to him is Glen, Wade’s son, and finally we have little Buck Comic, who is Misty’s son with Goopy. Finally, in the top row, we start our spouse/partner list with Maura Fyres, one of Bay’s multiple lovers. First on the second row is another of Bay’s girls, Ariella Padilla, and the final of Bay’s baby mama’s is next to her, Fabiana Montes. Otto Jang is next, and he is Rose’s current partner as we saw above, Maverick Campbell is next, who we just got the notice married Misty, and finally it’s Reed’s new wife Hope Figuera.

That is going to be it for this update. As I mentioned before, be prepared for a final heir poll next update as we should have all the kids at that point and I need to know who will write the final books and piece together the final relic of the challenge. For now, thanks for reading and hope to have you again next time!

We are back with another update. I’m feeling like I’m starting to loose steam on this challenge and really want to be done with it, so hopefully we will be done by the end of the month, but I don’t know if we will. Still, we are getting close, so let’s take a look and our goals.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (7 of 9)
  • Workaholics (8 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (37 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So last time you may remember that we watched the final O-twins grow up into toddlers, Reed worked on acting and maxed the skill, Olive and Oceana moved into the other realm, and Lily became an elder while her brothers became adults. The twins do have Ancient Bloodline, and we finished anther skill and aspiration. Let’s check in now.

We start with a sweet look at the boys, their dad, and little puppy Basil. Rye is working his way through some magic books because he’s getting stronger in magic, but we haven’t been very focused on his magic abilities yet.

These two sit down and watch a movie together. They are very cute and very sweet with each other. I adore them and need to get working on the soulmate aspiration a little bit more, although they just need to start going on dates.

Our Basil grew up into a full sized dog, and oh isn’t he just the sweetest??!!! I love him, he looks so soft and fluffy! I want a dog in RL, but sims dogs will have to do for now. Reed watches him grow up big and strong.

Basil is well taken care of in this family and he has decided he LOVES the toilet. I don’t know what it is with my sim pets but Jill from the Otts ISBI also loved the toilet. Analisa will be the one working on training him, and I find it adorable that toddlers can “imitate” a dog. Basil is one very good dog!

Oriole is a cutie, but a bit of a handful. I have been so busy with Reed’s acting and Basil’s training I have not done a good job of focusing on the twins and their skills. This needs to change or they won’t get through their skills and it will make it harder on them later in life.

Analisa diligently reads the boys to bed. She needs to discipline them now for her aspiration, and hopefully we will be able to get that done within her time as a parent. It shouldn’t be that hard, and she’s building up more and more parenting skills. I’d love to have the super efficient baby care for the final babies.

Exciting news, the newest baby, baby P, is on it’s way, so likely no super efficient parenting for this baby. This leaves us with one final pregnancy after this, and raising them up and then this challenge is done. We still have some skills to work on maxing, but overall we are so very close!

It’s new years and that means everyone makes some resolutions, watches the count down and are ready for a new year for the family. This year will bring more babies and hopefully we only have a sim year or two left in this challenge! The family has worked hard!

Some extended family news for the new year as well, two more little Comic’s (or at least from the Comic’s members) were born. Misty had a boy, and Kyra, who got pregnant by Birch last update, had a little girl.

I really like these two and would like for MCCC to put them together once Reed is out of the house, but we’ll see what happens. He manages to steal a kiss from the girl who does his wardrobe, but maybe she doesn’t think he’s serious. *Spoiler* MCCC married her off before he moved into the neighborhood. 😦

Today was a Game of Thrones-esk performance. Giving speeches on balconies, having sword fights, and exchanging words in the great hall. It’s just too much fun to watch all this.

But it led to Reed’s final promotion. That gives us another job down, and all we need is for Rye to finish up his and we’ve completed 10 careers! Hard to believe it’s been that long already, but Reed will be moving out soon having completed his goals.

The twins are getting busy working on their skills. Now that I am not following their uncle Reed to his performances anymore they can be focused on and we are working on getting them to at least Happy Toddlers if not Top-Notch.

Petunia is adding to the extended family with her husband. It’s good to know the family continues to grow outside of this house and maybe Petunia’s new baby and our new baby here could have a toddler play date!

Basil is a good dog, very loyal and sweet! He doesn’t demand much but Analisa is always giving him attention, pets, walks, you name it. She is up to a level 4 in pet training so we are close to being done with that skill.

Reed hasn’t left yet and so he helps little Oryx with some thinking skills by doing flash cards with him. I think it’s going to be tight to get both toddlers all their skills this time, but they should both make happy toddler at least.

Another bed time, and more stories are told by Analisa and Rye. The boys wanted their own stories tonight and our loyal Basil is there to watch over them as they sleep. He spends a bunch of time in the boys room if he isn’t by Analisa’s side.

I forget that Analisa is a child of the islands, so she calls for the island spirits but then sudden pains that she recognizes from her first pregnancy strike her and we realize it’s time to head to the hospital! Baby P is on the way! So we say good-bye to the island spirits, we’ll call them again later, and head to the hospital.

When we arrive at the hospital Rye freaks out and then runs off as Analisa heads to the birthing contraption, but for the very first time, a spouse stays close. Rye actually ran into the room next door and then freaked out watching through the window as his wife climbed into the contraption. Luckily everything worked as it should and the baby arrived without complications.

Meet Pine Comic. He is the final baby P in the family, he will be the Bad Apple of this generation, and I’m excited to see what another little boy looks like. The house is once again full and we will need to have Reed move out to make room for the final pregnancy, but for now we will focus on getting the twins aged up and Pine taken care of.

Before we leave this update, as the birth of Pine puts us in a perfect ending spot for now, let’s take a look at the latest extended family portraits shall we? From the top you have Hawk Comic all grown up. He is Lavender’s only child, then we have Wade’s son Cyrpus. He used to be a red-head but apparently decided that he wanted to look like his dad, who also dyed his hair as a teen. The we have Lake, Petunia’s only child so far, although as we saw, she is pregnant again. The lower level we have current spouses or partners. We start with Kellie Delgato who is now married to Wade, Goopy Eggleston is next and is the father of Misty’s son. Kyra, we discussed earlier, and is Birch’s baby mama. Finally we have Ellis Winslow who married Lavender.

That’s it for now, thank you for joining us yet again and hope to see you next time as we get closer and closer to wrapping up this crazy challenge.

We are back again with another update for you from the Comic’s. Last time we saw the birth of Oryx and Oriole, the newest members of this crazy family. We should see them grow into toddlers this update. Let’s take a quick look at our requirements and goals.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (7 of 9)
  • Workaholics (8 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (36 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (25 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So we can see we finished another career, having 2 left, and another couple of aspirations, thanks to Olive, and therefore we have completed the 30 I was going for originally, and only have 2 BG aspirations left, Soulmate and Party Animal. Let’s see if we can complete any more goals this time around.

Lily throws a “come meet the new babies” party and sadly, right in the middle of the party, Grim’s warning for Olive come true. It’s time, after many years, for Olive to leave this mortal life and be with Fabiana. It does put a bit of a damper on the party, but they were also able to celebrate Olive.

Olive managed to complete 5 aspirations (Purveyor of Potions, Big Happy Family, Bodybuilder, Successful Lineage, and Master Chef), 1 career (Education), 6 skills maxed (Baking, Cooking, Dancing, Fitness, Gourmet Cooking, and Research and Debate.) She ended with about 22 traits. She will be missed, but she deserves her rest

Thankfully, the death didn’t ruin the party, and we finally got through a party that counted for Lily and she as finished her aspiration. Party Animal can be marked off the list, which means all we need now is Soulmate, which Rye and Analisa are working on.

During the party, however, this was a slightly terrifying site.

You cannot take him Grim He is new and not ready for you.

Grim: I’m not planning on taking him, yet. He will come with me in his own time.

Please put the baby down, you are terrifying him.

The cousins are growing up more and more. Orca’s final kids, the twins, are now young adults, and Misty is also an adult now. It’s amazing to think that all the kids are becoming adults, and soon we’ll start getting updates saying they are elders.

When Reed goes to work next he has a bit of a surprise. Our costuming girl is very pregnant. Feeling a little guilty for flirting with her he starts to apologize, but she assures him, she is single and he doesn’t have any reason to feel bad. That’s great for Reed, and he is excited for her. He loves his nephews and wouldn’t hate to have some of his own some day.

Reed’s newest acting gig consists of him being an officer but apparently there is also a fish man of some kind. The fish man is getting locked up. I do love all the sets, and it’s been a lot of fun to watch Reed act in all these scenes.

This update cracks me up. If you didn’t actually want the poof why did you send money for it?? Thankfully it didn’t actually mean anything at the end of it, but it was just funny.

Time for Lily to grow up into Elder. It’s hard to believe Lily is already an elder. She’s been amazing and I have loved having her still at home. She has become a lot like her aunt Oceana, and will be here and helping with the babies for as long as she can.

Right after Lily’s birthday it’s time for another couple of birthdays. The twins are now toddlers, and mom and dad start with walking training right away. These boys, I believe, are identical, much like their dad and uncle Reed.

Here are the boys after a bit of a make-over They are absolutely adorable, as I figured they would be. As Oriole’s are often a bit orange, Oriole is in the Orange color. Oryx is in the white/gray/brown colors. I decided to give them the same hair to check out how similar they are, and they are very similar.

Sadly, life means, while we celebrate birthdays and new life growing up, we also have others to say good-bye too. Oceana’s time with the family has come to an end. She was my initial pick for heiress that first generation and I’m so glad she was able to stay this long.

Oceana finished 6 aspirations (Spellcraft & Sorcery, Computer Whiz, Joke Star, Chief of Mischief, Master Mixologist, and Public Enemy), 2 careers (Tech Guru and Criminal), and maxed out 9 skills (Comedy, Dancing, DJ Mixing, Fitness, Knitting, Mischief, Mixology, Programming, Video Gaming.) She ended up with around 25 traits and did amazing. Oceana you will be greatly missed.

We updated the resting area for the family members a bit show pictures of who is who and prepare for the potential passing of Lily, Rye, and Analisa. Oceana and Olive are added in their respective spots.

The extended family is growing and changing some more. Wade finally married so he might have more kids, Lavender remarried a new husband, which might mean she will have more kids too. Finally both Misty and Birch have kids on the way, but no marriages yet.

Because we need Pet Training as a skill still, we decide to welcome a new member to the family. Meet little Basil. He is ADORABLE and I’m already in love with me. So excited to see him grow up.

Petunia seemed to get a little “stuck” at the house after the party for a bit, so it gave her time to get to know her nephews a little more, and spend some time with her brothers.

It’s time for WinterFest once again and family is invited over, presents are open, meals are had and it was a successful WinterFest all the way around. Even the twins had a chance to get presents from Father Winter.

The day after Winterfest it’s back to work for Reed. He’s getting to know much of the film and camera crew members on the various projects he works on and sits down to some food before heading up to the set.

This has to be one of the prettiest sets I’ve ever seen him work on. It’s just a lovely “matte” painting for the background and the petals and stuff falling in the scene just make it all lovely.

While Reed was filming his scene’s he finally maxed out his acting skill. That means he’s about ready to go out into the world himself, all he needs to finish up his the acting career, which he’s very close to completing as well.

We end this update with the nearly forgotten birthdays for both Reed and Rye. They are now both full adults in the world and it’s hard to believe we are getting this close to the end of the challenge. Just a couple more pregnancies to go and we do need to get Rye focused on writing so he can get the book written, but that will come. That is going to be it for now, and I hope to see you again in a couple of days!

Hello and welcome back again. You have probably noticed the site looks different. I went on a hunt for a different layout/theme for the blog as the old one was older and there were some things I was not liking. Hopefully you all are ok with what I picked, I think it looks decent, so here’s hoping. Now, onto a view of our requirements here.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (7 of 9)
  • Workaholics (7 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (36 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (23 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (29 of 30 aspirations competed)

So we got a couple of things added or crossed off our list and we are close to a couple more. This time we should see the newest baby of the family and we’ll see what else happens. Let’s jump in.

We start with Rye working with his garden robots. We let the original ones go long enough that they disintegrated and we had to build a new one. Being this far into the challenge I don’t feel like I need to keep going on gardening, but want the potion ingredients, so we’ll use the bot to help.

Most of the family sits down to hang out together and discuss the new baby’s arrival. Lily plans to hold a baby shower so the family can get together and celebrate this new addition.

The baby shower was a huge success and Lily was able to give Analisa the new baby onesie she had knit for the baby when he or she finally arrives. Oceana has been working on toddler onesies for when the baby gets a little bit bigger and a new knit toy has been added to the toy box.

Little Lake, Petunia’s son, is now a toddler and the family tree is growing even more. He probably won’t be a toddler by the time Rye’s baby will be, so no play dates will probably happen. I really want to try that gathering some time.

Reed needed to study “flirty” socials. So before work he went to this cafe and we discover that Wade’s baby mama, Paige, works here. Reed gets his flirty studies out of the way just in time to head to work.

It is a busy day at work for Reed on set. He gets into hair and make up and his costume, but today he plays doctor. He gets to kiss a co-worker in the lobby, check out a patient and then die in the doctor’s lounge.

All of this work is paying off big time fr Reed, however, as he gets another promotion and is close to the top now. Sadly he hasn’t been nominated again yet, but I hope it happens at some point so I can try and go to the awards.

With Analisa being so pregnant now, swimming is about the only thing she can really do to try and keep healthy. The weightless feel in the water is also great for her back and legs and allows her to relax. Oceana and Reed stay close just in case.

That evening Lily throws a fundraising party and it was an enjoyable night for all. They sat at the bar or by the pool and talked and raised some money for a good cause.

Olive comes home with a promotion and is one promotion away from completing the Master Chef aspiration. She also needs Analisa to give birth to twins to finish up the Big Happy Family aspiration as well. So far the generation has always started with twins, so we’ll see if that continues.

Both Olive and Oceana head too the well, at different times to ask for promotion wishes. Olive doesn’t get a promotion right away, but Oceana does and completes the criminal career. That gives us another career down and 2 left to go.

We then get a bunch of updates from the extended family. Daisy is a young adult now, Wade an adult, and little Hawk, Lavender’s son, is a child.

The very next day Olive heads too work and gets her last promotion needed to reach Master Chef. She earns another trait, as you see, and she has completed a lot of things during her long life. I’m going to miss her.

While studying up on parenting, however, this looks graces our dear Analisa. We should all know this face by now. It’s time for the baby to make his or her appearance. I have been good and have not looked at MCCC to see what the baby will be, or if she’s having more than one, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Olive.

We send Analisa and Rye to the hospital and we actually have a human doctor again. This is fairly exciting as we have been having a lot of ghost docs lately. As Analisa lays in the machine, I watch closely and worry, but I had nothing to worry about. Rye does come down the hall and worries right outside the door. We once again have twins.

It’s a pair of boys for the family. We started with all girls, and are ending with a bunch of boys. Rye and Reed are no longer the only male Comic’s. They are now joined by (we are at BOOLPR O) Oryx and Oriole.

Back and home, it’s a good thing that Lily made 3 onesies, we have baby Oryx on the left in the light blue and yellow onesie, and Oriole in the dark blue on the right. Both parents start in on taking care of the newest members of the family right away, and hopefully Analisa will max her parenting soon.

She gazes down at her new sons, snuggling Oriole in her arms and is excited to watch these boys grow up. There are two more pregnancies needed this generation, but so far we are off to a good start.

As we prepare to leave the family fr this update I will share our updated picture walls. I moved Autumn’s generation over to the side so the generations flow from left to right a little easier. We need to get Rye’s picture up on the wall, but we already have Analisa, and will take pictures of the kids as they become teens.

Additional flamingos have been added to the flock and I rearranged the flamingos a little bit so we can more easily add the last 2 to 4 kids worth of flamingos too the flock outside. This family has grown and change in a lot of ways, and I hope you will stay with us for the final “years” of following them.

As we leave this family for this update, here is a quick look at Lake and a more grown up Glen. Glen is Wade’s youngest son. I should have the family tree updated finally, so if you looked before and didn’t see all the cousins added you should now. See you next time!

Hello my readers, and I am so sorry for the longer than normal absence. Life got a little crazy with members of my family exposed to COVID, and work projects taking up and more of my mental energy….but hopefully we will be back to normally scheduled posts for a while again. I really am looking forward to wrapping up this challenge.

So with that out of the way, since it’s been a little bit I think it’s super nice to review our goals, and talk a little bit about some ‘changes’ discussed about this challenge and what I’m likely going to do.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (6 of 9)
  • Workaholics (7 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (36 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (22 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (28 of 30 aspirations competed)

So obviously last time we completed the goal of having a spouse from Selvadorada by marrying Analisa. There was a single skill maximized, but that means we are only 4 away from finishing that goals, which is nuts.

So I mentioned changes before. I talking with others and reviewing some of the terminology in the rules, we realized there was a bit of confusion over what was and wasn’t “required” for the final kids (in this case Rye’s kids) and if they had should have an “heir.” While review is still going to happen, since the rules were based initially on TS2 and just adapted for the other versions, it seems that adulthood, not young adult, but actual full adult hood might be the final end. Either way, we will have one more heir poll because at the very least that final heir needs to find a Selvadoradian spouse, and write a book. If they can complete that by the time the youngest kids is YA, than great, otherwise it might be adulthood.

All right, now back to the family:

Olive needs to get more promotions and she is running out of time, so she heads up to the well. Luckily it worked and she is set to get a promotion when she next goes to work.

Petunia has delivered a baby boy and that gives Olive another grandchild. She needs two more in order to complete the final milestone of the final family aspiration we need too finish.

So I didn’t post a picture before, but this is Analisa with a bit of an make-over after being moved in. She is a hot-headed, vegetarian, child of the islands who wants to be a Super Parent. Since the rest of the base game aspirations are covered, she will keep it.

Here is a pictures too show we are still adding to our flamingo flock as required and it is getting crazy. I’m ready to have the final kids and be done with the flamingos.

Reed is busy with his acting career and I am still loving following him to work. Some of these sets are really cool and a whole lot of fun. He has a tiny bit more acting skill to go and I think I’ll probably get him maxed on his career.

Reed got a chance for an award, although I totally forgot to go to the ceremonies. Of course I did, because I always do, no matter how often I remind myself to go. I also love Reed’s little moodlet here, it’s so cute.

Lily throws another weenie roast, hoping this time it’s a little better than last time. First Oceana set herself on fire, but luckily she was fine. Then, while playing guitar, another fire starts, and this time it might have been a little bit worse. I’m not actually sure a party where someone is dying while on fire should have gotten a gold level. However, that allowed Oceana to watch someone die and she finishes the pubic enemy aspiration. This, sadly, didn’t count for Lily since I wasn’t on her when the party ended.

As grim arrived, Oceana had gotten what she needed so she, confidently, told grim he wasn’t collecting a soul today. He relented and brought her back to life.

Grim decides too hang around and chat with Olive.

Grim: You cannot keep extended your life forever

Olive: I beg to differ. I could drink this potion of immortality.

Grim: *sigh* Ok, you might be able to do it, but do you really want to?

Olive: No, but I just have a couple more things I need to do, and then I will willing join my Fabiana.

First time I’ve seen this particular achievement. I think it’s pretty funny that this family is becoming friends with Grim

Oceana: Don’t you even start with me.

Void: *hiss*

Grim: Ok ok ok….calm down. Your time is coming too you know.

Oceana: Doesn’t have to. I am as much of a spell caster as my sister is, maybe even more powerful. So don’t tempt me.

Lily is working on baby onesies knowing her brother is likely to have kids himself soon enough. So she works hard while her mom enjoys video games in the rocker.

Turns out Lily was right. Analisa is now expecting and just in time too. We are hoping it’s twins as Olive’s time is getting close and I don’t really want to give her a youth potion as her elder years have been long due to her body building ways.

Rye puts together a relic and see’s a fisher at the edge of their island. He heads out and blesses this person, who it turns out is Lavender. She is blessed with some extra money now.

While it was still possible, Analisa works out to keep herself healthy during her pregnancy and hopefully will be able to drop the baby weight easily enough. I really like Analisa and I think she will bring some adorable kids into the world soon.

Oceana and Lily both work on some knitting projects for the new baby that is coming, and any future babies as well. I want the last generation to have had something made by their aunt and great aunt.

While we anxiously await the birth of the newest baby, Analisa reads up on parenting. One of her milestones needs her to be high level parenting and I have never gotten a parenting skill maxed fast enough to have it be useful, so I want to get that done.

This feels like a good place to leave these update, but first I want to give you some looks at the extended family.

Here are all the members, some of whom you have seen others you have not. Starting with the first picture on the left, this is Paige, who is Wade’s baby mama. Next are Orca’s twin boys, Birch and Bay. They have interesting proportions. Orca’s other two children are next, Misty and then Rose. Rose is lovely. The toddler is Lavender’s son Hawk and on the next row, that’s Lavender’s husband, Maximiliano. Daily, Brook’s child, is next and then we have Petunia’s husband Valentin. You should recognize Jay, Blossom’s only child, and the final two are Wade and Paige’s sons. The red-headed toddler is Glen and the blonde is Cyprus.

Hello and welcome back once again to the Comic household. We are getting ready to really start on the 3rd and final generation (the ones born in game) and it’s exciting to be this close. I might take a tiny break from this family after this update and play another family for a bit, but we’ll see how I feel after this post. Let’s look at our goals:

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (6 of 9)
  • Workaholics (7 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (35 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (22 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (28 of 30 aspirations competed)

We have made some great progress and I’m surprised by how far we have gotten. I also recognize that I have used a handful of things, like youth potions, and the wishing well a couple of times to help reach these goals. They are pretty tough, but I think we can do it. Let’s get back to the family.

We start with a random girl, she’s actually a neighbor, rocking out in our workroom. The metal station has a pretty significant drawn to sims apparently.

We finally get Rye a familiar, and he gets the Raven. It’s name is Nevermore. Welcome to the challenge Nevermore.

Nevermore: This one has much power but is currently weak.

Yes, he is, I haven’t worked his magic much yet.

Reed: *thinking* Man, everyone but me has a familiar now.

Olive gets a promotion finally and she is one step closer to finishing up her culinary aspiration. I’m worried she is going to run out of time first. She only has around 6 days left, and needs two levels of her job.

Lily has another party and it goes ok, but isn’t as good as some of her other parties. We are starting to have some strange things happen with Lily and her parties, and I will be very ready to have this aspiration done.

During the party through, the family is happy to see each other. Almost everyone in the family adores Reed, likely because he’s just so likable. I like Reed too. You can see a very pregnant Petunia in the background. We need 4 grandkids, and only have one currently, so I’m kind of hoping she’s carrying twins.

Rye manages to curse himself by drinking too many potions and has to spend time at the party learning to de-curse himself. He got the curse that makes him permanently stinking, and leaves stink puddles everywhere he sits or stands.

He finally is high enough in level and able to de-curse himself while Nevermore looks on.

Nevermore: Yes, that’s it, and hold that power up for a few more seconds and pull the power into yourself.

Doing some magical training?

Nevermore: Just making sure he’s not going to make the curse worse. I don’t really have a nose and he’s unbearable.

Reed is back at work and is getting to be friends with the wardrobe girl. She’s always reading a book and so Reed shares some of his favorite books. She’s also up for some good gossip about members of the crew.

Lily throws a black and white party for a very specific reason. What stinks is, she gets a gold at this party, but the party doesn’t count towards her aspiration. Stupid party glitches! Lily doesn’t know Analisa yet, so Rye invites her over himself.

Part of the party guests gather in the dining room munching on some food and talking about things like zebras and newspapers. It is a black and white party after all. All the while plans are brewing.

It’s time Rye!

Rye: Oh boy, ok, right….what did Reed say to say…..umm….oh right!

Rye: Analisa darling…..I think I was searching for treasures or stones in the clearest of pools, when your face, like the moon in a well um….appeared?? Uh…..Analisa, will you be my wife?

Analisa: Oh, of course I will!!! Wow, look at that ring!!!

Lily: All right, Rye is getting married!!!

Analisa: I’m glad you are so happy but, why???

Lily: Oh, my mom wants 4 grandkids, and I haven’t really had much interest in kids, well at least of my own. I feel like I’m kind of like Aunt O. So now you guys can have the kids

With all the love in the air, is it any reason that Desiree came out to spend some time with Olive? The two sit, chat, do a little flirting and spend some time together.

Then they have a little more fun upstairs. Just please be careful you two, I need Olive to finish a couple more things before she is gone from this world! I know you probably miss her Desiree, but not yet!

With an upcoming wedding the siblings try to get in a little better shape for the big day. Lily really wants to throw the party, but sadly, because it isn’t HER wedding she can’t make the call.

Rye works hard to lose his pudge by the time the wedding happens. He also works on his robotics skill a fair amount too. He pretty much works out, drinks potions, and works the robotics station non-stop.

Reed, on the other hand, has finished one of his required skills. All he needs to do now is to max out the Acting skill and he will be set free into the world. I think he will finish it up soon, although part of me wants to try and finish the acting career with him.

Oceana gives some quick tips to Rye on his magic. Rye has not spent a lot of time working on magic, but I do want to get him leveled up a little more. Meanwhile above them, Nevermore and Void watch.

The big day has finally arrived and a wedding venue was searched for and downloaded. I cannot, for the life of me, remember who created this. It’s nice and I edited it some to fit my needs a little better, but the guests and couple get ready to start the wedding.

Rye: ….and with this ring you are mine to have and hold.

Analisa: ….and with this ring you are mine to love and cherish.

Pronouncing the lovely new couple, Rye and Analisa Comic! May you bring at least 3 pregnancies into the world and live successful lives with each other.

This venue had a lovely reception area as well, and the lights did come on, later, as you can see, so a few of these pictures are a littler darker than I meant for them to be. The family is happy to get together for such a wonderful reason.

The cake was cut, and speeches were given. Lily sang a lovely song she prepared for the happy couple.

There was dancing and merriment through the night until the party wrapped up and everyone headed home. It was a long, but fun day of festivities. That is going to be where we end this update. Next we will see if Olive and Oceana mange to finish their aspirations before they pass, or if Lily will get through enough parties. Reed might also move out, and we should see the start of the final generation.

Hello, and welcome back to our post SimNaNo updates. We had a successful SimNaNo this year and I’m excited to get to finishing up this challenge. This is likely going to be a little shorter than they have been, back to my usual length, but I’m curious if you readers prefer the shorter or longer posts. Leave a comment and let me know!

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (6 of 9)
  • Workaholics (6 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (33 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (19 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (25 of 30 aspirations competed)

So I have partially crossed out finding a spouse in Selvadorada because we did find her, she’s just not a spouse yet. Not much else has happened yet, but we are getting close. Now onto the update.

We start with Rye doing a lot of work on the robots, and he even made and activated a CleanBot to try out. So far it’s been pretty interesting to have around and does seem to help with the cleaning a good bit.

Still in their outfits from the most recent party these three watch some TV. Oceana was starting to run out of time and we haven’t yet been able to see someone die, so she made a wish at the wishing well and managed to get her age reset to the start of her elder years again.

Reed headed off to his new acting gig and while chatting with a costar he finished up his charisma and completed his aspiration That is great news. He is going to finish up 2 skills and then will probably be allowed to leave to find his own way.

In the meantime, Reed picked up the Master Actor aspiration and got busy doing his job. This was a comedy show and he had to flirt and kiss his costar, which went great for him.

Lily came home with her final promotion. This is great news for Olive, but since this came up while we were with Reed at work we do not have the notice yet, so I hope it counts. I do want to get Lily through her aspiration since she’s on the last level, but then she will have completed her requirements too.

When we get home we see that Olive, in fact, has completed the Successful Lineage aspiration finally. She moves back to the Big Happy Family aspiration. She is still a few promotions away from getting her needed promotions for Master Chef, so hopefully we will reach this other one first.

Rye is also getting successful in his job and came home with his own promotion. I’m hoping he will get through the rest of his promotions quickly, but he is needing to focus on his aspiration right now.

Lily wanted to throw a fun dance party out at the ruins, but sadly, when every one arrived there was a massive thunderstorm going on. So everyone was fairly uncomfortable being out in the rain and lightning.

We do, however, manage to enjoy the bonfire for a short period of time and the crowd gathers and chats, Oceana plays some music, Reed performs a scene with another girl at the party for tips and a generally good time is had despite all the rain.

Once the party is over, Lily is getting closer and closer to being done with her aspiration. She also continues to work on her knitting. Olive tries to keep up with her kids and spends some time chatting with her.

All of that knitting, however, has paid off when Lily maxes out her knitting skill. That is one more skill down and we only have a handful more to go. I’m so happy to be as far as I am through this crazy goal.

While Oceana is up here making the wish I mentioned earlier, Olive manages to finally maximize her baking skill. All Olive needs now is to finish up some aspirations, and her work as one of the heiresses is done. She has done so well.

It was time for another data for Rye as he needed one more to finish up that first milestone. So he takes Analisa out for a lunch at the small restaurant on the next island over. They talked about many things, including the food, and had a great date.

The date ended good and they had a wonderful time together. I’m excited for having these guys be our final couple and am excited to get them married and start on kids. We are very close to be ready for that.

We attempted to have a weenie roast and quickly found out the “seats” I used were too big to place the way I had them and we had a couple of fires. We removed the benches eventually so everyone could roast marshmallows and enjoy the evening sitting on the beach.

We will ends this update with the exciting news that Petunia is starting a family. She is not married yet, as far as I know, but she is pregnant and often times they will get married within the next couple of days. I’m hoping she will and that it will count for Olive’s aspiration.

This update is a little shorter than I initially planned, but after the long posts of SimNaNo, I’m hoping you will enjoy something a little shorter, and the next post should see Analisa moving in and her and Rye getting married and preparing to start a family of their own.

SimNaNo Entry #16

This is our last entry for SimNaNo, and we made it guys! We reached all our goals, have actually exceeded them, and are getting super close to being done with this summer challenge! It’s a huge accomplishment for me and I thank those of you who read along with me, or even if you are reading after the fact, for giving my crazy writing some time. Let’s get to this final update!

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (6 of 9)
  • Workaholics (6 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (33 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (20 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (26 of 30 aspirations competed)

We have made some really great strides, so let’s see how it goes with the family this time. I’m hoping we’ll cross off a few more things, or at least increase those counts a bit.

We start with Lily throwing another party. This time we throw a costume party, which I have also never done before and it was fun. We had a lot of hotdogs, and scientists, and then we had a cheerleader, mascot, robot, pizza delivery girl, and something else I can’t remember.

Rye needs to go spouse hunting. I don’t think I mentioned it before, but his next aspiration is Soulmate, and since that requires lots of dates and a girl or boyfriend, he heads out to Selvadorada with visions of his perfect spouse in his head.

After having a quick snack so he isn’t starving and checking his plentiful needs potion count, he heads to the local pub and meets this girl, who is still, even after all this time, influenced by an outfit Brook did in her younger years. She’s ok, and they hit it off all right, but she’s not quite right, and she also might not be a native. I can’t fully remember now.

Next, we meet this guy. He’s a young adult, handsome enough, Rye thinks he could potentially be something special, and they are friends fairly quickly. Then Rye learns he Hates Children. Well, Lavender did too and I really don’t want the person who will be heavily responsible for the children to hate them.

Next up is this guy with cat ears. They get along ok, but it’s clear that Rye doesn’t favor him. Their relationship builds very slowly indeed. So Rye checks him off his list. Doesn’t mean they can’t have a conversation though.

Then we meet Fifi. She has got to be the craziest looking dog I’ve ever seen. Rye spends some time trying to get to know her and we find out she is aggressive, which is fairly obvious, but eventually, we do get a positive relationship. She is also a glutton and a couch potato, and I’d really love to bring her home, but she wanders away before we get much further.

This blonde is the next unique YA we are able to meet. I’m secretly hoping he likes her and I would love to get some genetic diversity. She is, in fact, a native, which I wasn’t fully expecting, and while they slowly become friends I’m just not sure she is right.

Then walks in Analisa. She is greeted and instantly they are Good Friends. It took a single interaction. They spent the rest of the night chatting and getting to know one another.

Yes, Analisa is most certainly the one. Of course, she reminds me a lot of Desiree actually. Desiree was a little darker skin tone, but I just have to hope some of Autumn’s coloring manages to breakthrough. It’s clear this family has a “type.”

Back at home Reed got invited over to, what turns out to be, Lavender’s home. He doesn’t get invited by her, but she comes home and looks like she might be in labor. I didn’t actually catch a birth announcement though, so I’ll have to look later and see if I missed it.

Analisa calls Rye up and asks him out on a date. She wants to go to this retail shop for some reason, so that’s where we head. They are adorable, and I think she’ll fit in nicely. I think I might actually have my first “the spouse carries the babies” couple. This will also be our first hetero couple this challenge. I did search for a guy, but only ever found two YA males that were residents, and well, Rye made a clear choice.

He clearly made a good choice too. A first, surprise, kiss right there in the store. She is too cute, and I think these two will make a great couple, and probably some cute kids.

To end of the date the two become boyfriend and girlfriend. Another date will be had soon as Rye needs another for his aspiration. This next time I’ll probably go to a park or something. There was nothing to do in the store.

Back at home Lily, who is so very close to her final promotion at work, just knits away. I believe she is up to level 6 already, and I am enjoying the plant hangers immensely. I think they are adorable.

Heading upstairs you can see I bought a cupcake machine, but it doesn’t really build baking that fast, so we get rid of it after making a couple of things. Autumn is out today, but she’s in a good mood, and Reed plugs away at his veterinarian skill.

We get a couple of family updates. The boys, Birch and Bay, are now teens, and Orca’s youngest girl, Rose, is now a YA. It’s amazing how fast they have all grown up.

Olive officially has her first grandbaby now as Lavender had a little boy named Hawk, so perhaps she wasn’t in labor in that picture before. I really do hope Petunia has a family of her own soon, but so far she seems content to be single, so it’s up to Rye and Lavender so far.

I tried to have Lily throw a Spooky party, but something caused an error. No one could interact with each other. I got no options when clicking on people. The party continued, but it was a pretty lackluster party. I guess we can’t throw those right now. They did still manage to eat and such, just wouldn’t talk, it was strange.

I’m going to call this a wrap for this update. I know it’s a shorter one and mostly about Rye and his spouse hunt to find Analisa, but I also had to run my cat to the emergency vet last night (she is going to be completely fine thankfully) but that interrupted my playtime, and I don’t want to miss a final post for SimNaNo. So thanks for reading, we will be back with another update soon. Thanks for reading!
