Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 10

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Easter Egg challenge update! We are speeding right along, and it’s hard to believe we are already at week 10. When we were last with Tara and the boys, Tara was working on game tournaments, and the twins grew into teens. Tara worked as a scientist, and the boys continued to work their lemonade stand, which had been updated to include snacks. Let’s dig in!

Week 10

When we first join the family, a very stinky Robin was out handling the garden tasks, and Tara was headed off to the back of the house.

She has purchased a rocket and has started building it. One of the things we want to try to do is find the space bunny, and for that, we need a rocket!

A much less stinky Robin eventually comes out to help his mom with her rocket building. It’s not a bad thing to learn rocket science already.

Cad isn’t just lazing around by himself. He’s busy restocking the stand with some new candies and snacks. He’s getting pretty decent at cooking, but waiting for the candy machine isn’t the most exciting.

Once the table is fully restocked, Cad opens the stand. By the end of the sale, he had a pretty decent profit. It wasn’t the best, but popcorn has become a big seller for the stand.

Tara has started on her next game. She is working on SimScuffle next, which appears to be SimCity-like. For a bit, I thought SimsScuffle might be one of the higher-level games that sounds like it might require extra work, but it’s actually unlocked at a lower level.

Robin heads in, and I had forgotten that Tara had read Llamabelle already, so he reads that one. We get no new points for books at this point, but it is fun. Then Cad and Robin get a close dynamic.

We still have house guests, so when Cad and Robin sit down to hang out together, one of them joins them. I believe this might be Don’s current wife’s daughter, but I’m not totally sure.

Tara has not even placed in the last couple of tries at tournaments with SimScuffle, so maybe I was wrong about it not being as difficult. I’m not sure what I need to do to help Tara with this one.

The boys have really perfected the teamwork of running the stand. Cad works on some new candy while Robin does the selling. It’s another decent, although not great, sale. Popcorn is still super popular!

After another failed tournament, Tara heads outside. Maybe taking care of the bees and the plants will be what she needs to get her head in the game!

Remembering that Tara had high handiness, she went and started upgrading the beds for the twins. The amount of time it saves to have massage controls is just wild!

When Tara goes to work, she is asked to create a satellite, which is exactly what we were waiting for. Satellite completed, and Tara puts it in her “pocket” to take home at the end of the day.

The rest of the day for Tara is made up of chatting with co-workers and doing some analysis of various kinds. Tara is not going to be a scientist much longer; it’s not really “her”.

It was a successful day for the boys, who both came home with A’s in high school. I expect to get notices about graduating early for them soon.

The Hijinks festival is in town, which is a great time for Tara to work on her mischief. We, of course, attend and bring the boys along for fun as well. Tara works on being mischievous, and even though the pranksters were ahead by 6, they somehow lost!

During the festival, Cad decides that he kind of likes deception. I don’t know if this is the best lesson for him to learn, but that’s ok.

With the satellite in place, the family sits down to watch the interesting alien programming they are now able to get. This completes a new easter egg goal and gives us 30 points!

When the boys head to school the next day, Tara heads out to take care of the bees and then goes to work on the rocket for a while. She took the day off work and will be quitting that job sometime this week.

She heads back inside feeling refreshed and ready to face the challenge of a new tournament, and doesn’t even place. What is up with this game? Do I keep trying, or do I let this one go and try the others?

Their mom might not be having a lot of success with her tournaments, but Cad and Robin are having a lot of luck in their snack shop. This latest sale did really well, and while they aren’t making gobs of money, it’s quite a bit for snacks.

The boys’ schedules are a little off now, what with the better beds. That means Cad sometimes is up doing his homework in the middle of the night after sleeping for just a few hours.

Tara continues to practice with SimScuffle and has yet to have any luck placing in a tournament, let alone winning. If the rest of them are this difficult, we might have a problem.

We change tactics for a bit because having Tara sit forever playing a game over and over isn’t working. She tries to get a new easter egg painting instead, but doesn’t.

She does, however, get a promotion at work, which is kind of nice. Nothing to be upset about there.

Tara goes to work again, probably shouldn’t quit right after we get a promotion, huh? She does various tasks, like upgrading her SimRay.

I didn’t specifically get a picture of working it, but the boys open the stand again and we are getting right around 400 simoleons each time. It’s not bad. Elderberry Swirl Lollipops were a good seller, and everyone still loves Citrus Swig.

Poor Robin got an ailment that I thought I had turned off. I sent him to the naturpath to get that resolved. We do not need it to spread any further!

Tara starts work on what I will consider a new easter egg painting. Apparently, I did not get a picture of it completed. Still, it’s cans, which I’m relatively certain are meant to be like Andy Warhol’s paintings of Campbell’s soup.

They aren’t the closest, but I’m pretty sure that’s what this was meant to be. There are other Andy Warhol paintings in Sims 4 as well, so we’ll see if I get any more, and if I get at least 4 more, I’ll have 5 anyway, so for now, 10 points.

The postcard collection is completed! It took me far too long to realize Tara had all the required penpals; she simply had missed sending a letter to one of them. Whoops, anyway, this is another 25 points!

The table is ready for some more restocking, so Cad heads out with the last of the afternoon sun to start making some new candies and snacks to put up for sale later.

Tara is back to playing some SimScuffle and continues to struggle with getting through a tournament. Poor Tara, I don’t want this to be where our dreams end up dying!

The sale Cad started wasn’t great that night. It took a long time to get people to come up and purchase anything, and people were suddenly feeling like it wasn’t a good deal, even though we hadn’t updated pricing.

So we reopened again immediately and had better sales the second time around. Funny, it was later, and you would think fewer people would have been interested.

Tara’s life revolves around SimScuffle now. I remembered she could be In The Zone, but since that seems to happen automatically, it doesn’t seem to be helping. The boys have started working more on the rocket to help their mom.

They open the stand again and have an AMAZING day of sales. Everything was working just right for Cobb Treats, which we will be changing the name of soon.

Tara finally places in a tournament, but it’s only 3rd place. This is rather discouraging, but it is progress, so we will keep trying!

As the week wraps up, Cad is sent to take care of Thimble. He did a great job getting us all those postcards. He’s been a good mini hedgehog, and I’m glad the family has him.

That, however, brings us to the end of another week! It felt like a busy, yet slow week for Tara. She did end up earning another 65 points this week, though, which is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully, another week will see us through SimScuffle, but that game is not playing nicely. Currently, our total points are sitting at 375. There are 5 or 6 more goals I think are doable for Tara, but time will tell. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will come back for the next update!

I have been playing sims since TS1 and even played a little bit of the PS2 version and the mobile versions over time. Once I discovered challenges for TS2 I never looked back. I love the sims, the families I've been able to make, and play through the years, and connecting with people about them. I work from home as a QTC Admin for my company, have a cat I adore and have a million hobbies I feel like I will never have time to completely explore.
