Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 6

To Monster Mash | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Easter Egg challenge update! It has been too long since I posted, and really, since I even played this challenge. I just wrapped up the Monster Mash challenge, so if you are interested in that challenge, it’s fully blogged and posted. The last time we were with Tara, she had expanded the house to make room for the baby, which turned out to be twins, Cadbury and Robin. The rest of the update was mostly taking care of the twins, and no points were gained. Let’s dig into the next week!

Week 6

We start the week with Tara taking care of little Robin. Also, I finally got a chance to show off the easter egg doors. It’s, of course, a play on the That’s All, Folks! from Looney Tunes.

Once the babies were taken care of, Tara went out to take care of the bees. We have not had a lot of time to run any of our yard sales since Tara has been very busy with the twins.

After making sure all the other living beings in and around the house were taken care of, Tara was finally able to work on her gaming. This would also help her get another promotion. I am DETERMINED to at least get ONE tournament win.

It’s tummy time, and Robin can do tummy time all by himself now. Cad is a bit behind his brother. He’s intense, and it has been showing.

The changing table was DISGUSTING!! Ugh, so Tara took some time to quickly clean it while the babies napped on their playmats.

Tara was out of family leave, and it was time to deal with her rival anyway. A nanny was hired instead of sending the boys to daycare, and he did a really good job taking care of them.

Tara grabbed quite a nice computer from work, not really sure how she pulled that one off. Then she also discovered she likes cooking.

Don came by and spent a bit of time with Tara, and probably to meet his boys. I wish I could blame Don for giving us twins, but I’m pretty sure it’s Tara’s fault.

Don proves, in yet another save, to be a decent father and help Cad while Tara takes care of Robin. Robin is already able to sit up now, while Cad still needs help with tummy time.

Tara needs programming to get her next promotion, after dealing with the rival, whom I decided to sabotage. I know it’s the “mean” way to do it, but Tara needs to get her mischief maxed out!

Our new favorite person, the nanny, is back again while Tara heads out to work and is busy helping keep Robin in good spirits. He can now scoot around the house and has become a little escape artist.

Just look at this cutie though!! He’s so adorable!

I sent Tara around to meet and try to befriend some of the other “easter egg” sims in the neighborhood, and while at the Goth’s house, she couldn’t help but take a little something for herself.

Tara finally bested her rival and opened up paths to promotion again! I am so glad it’s done.

It was doubly good timing as there is more to celebrate tonight. When Tara gets home, she invites everyone she has met recently over.

Sadly, Tara didn’t change into her party wear, which is one of the easter egg outfits, but we’ll have to try again later. Still, it’s Tara’s birthday, and she is now officially an adult.

It isn’t JUST Tara’s birthday, though, but the twins’ as well. Robin did a great job on all of his milestones and earned so many.

Cadbury did all right, not as good as Robin, although he did learn to blow a raspberry, which Robin did not.

Tara got Robin and brought him to the cake first. She helped him blow out his candles.

Next up, it was Cadbury’s turn to blow out his candles so they could both become toddlers!

Robin will remain wearing a lot of blue, and he is now an Angelic toddler. Yes, that will be nice and calm. Next up, our little Cad, who will continue to be in mostly red, is now a Clingy infant, because of COURSE he is. I’m sorry, the game is trolling me with you, Cad.

The party continued, and the boys got some food. You can see our start to the postcard collection back there on the wall. Where is Tara, you ask?

She was busy upgrading the cribs to be toddler beds for the boys. They were getting sleepy, and so was Tara, so it needed to get done right away.

With the party over and the cribs upgraded, Tara works to read both boys to sleep, hoping for an easy first night.

The hits to Cad keep coming, unfortunately, when we discover the boys’ first toddler quirks. Robin loves to be carried, which isn’t going to happen much, but that’s ok. Cad is a light sleeper, which means EVERYTHING wakes that kid up.

Amongst all the chaos, Tara finally decides that she likes programming, which is probably just as well since it’s her current job.

The nanny has been an absolute lifesaver in this save. It’s difficult being a single mom for Tara and having to leave her babies. But this way, I ensure they get some good skilling in!

They play together really well, and Cad is such a cutie, even if he is clingy.

He’s also a little singer, so he’s always trying to sing to the nanny. I’m sure it probably gets old, but it’s sweet.

Daddy Don came over and hung out with the boys for a while as well. Cad even managed to corner him in the hall to sing some songs and babble at him about nothing.

Tara finally got to the branching path of the career and is going to become an eSport Gamer, because MAYBE that will help us with the tournaments. I have no idea.

Any free time she gets right now Tara is working on games. Usually, Blicblock until we can win a tournament. I’m not even sure it’s possible in the game’s current state, but I’ll do everything I can.

Luckily, the boys are mostly able to entertain themselves now, working on skills and hanging out with each other.

The game suddenly throws us the rest of the twins’ quirks. Poor Cadbury gets hates wake up time to go with his light sleeper. That poor kid. Robin gets that he LOVES wakeup time and he loves water.

The week is now full of toddler training. I believe both boys are at level 2 of the potty skill, so they can do that on their own, and it’s just skilling and skilling and skilling.

The nanny does all he can. Plays with the boys, feeds them, and listens to them babble on. He really is a good nanny.

Tara tries her hand at another painting, but still cannot get any of the easter egg paintings. It’s getting discouraging for her, and for me. It’s going to be another 0-point week.

I got a play tent for the boys so they could go play in there. It’s really cute to watch them play together in the tent and grow their imagination.

Cad took a turn on the slide and did eventually get scared because it was too fast, but it’s a quick way to earn some movement.

After coming back inside, he was able to get the nanny to do some flash cards with him and worked on learning his numbers. The boys are doing really well in their skills overall.

That is where this week wraps up, and while a lot was going on, sadly, none of them were point-earning, so we still have 175 points. I don’t think we are going to be very successful at this challenge, but we still have a lot of time left, and once the boys are in school, that should free up Tara a lot. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will give the Monster Mash a shot if you haven’t already, as we will be back with them soon, I think!

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 22

Previous Chapter | To Easter Egg

Hello and welcome back to what I believe is going to be the FINAL chapter of the Monster Mash. This is going to be a bit of a longer chapter, so hold onto your seats! The last time we were with the family, Violet graduated from university, the werewolves searched hard for the cure, and by the end, Veruca and Vincent were no longer werewolves. Let’s dig in!

Vicnent is ready for the request when Veruca comes and asks him to turn her. Both Veruca and Victor are running out of time, and immortality will be helpful. Vincent does the spell just like it was done to him and bites his sister. Then, just like what was done for him, he offers her his blood.

Just like Victor was for her, Veruca is there to watch her brother get the same treatment. In three days, Veruca and Victor will be on their final lifestate of their lives, soon to be an immortal one.

Officially, it’s still the same day as Violet’s graduation, which happened to coincide with New Year’s. There was a lot to celebrate! Everyone makes resolutions. Some will be reached, some won’t. Mine is to finish this challenge before next Winterfest.

I realized we had never gotten pictures of Meilani since she became a ghost. That is an oversight I quickly correct, and she even gets a fun new photo with Riley. It’s crazy to believe he is still around. He may see the end of this challenge alive.

Everyone watches the countdown and celebrates the start of the new year. Poor Veruca and Victor are already beginning to feel the effects of being turned into vampires.

Vincent wants to be a good mentor to his siblings, so he heads back to Caleb’s house. Caleb may have been offering him a little more than either of us bargained for.

They got another sparring match going, and this time, Vincent was able to beat Caleb in the fight. This really excited both of them. The student has exceeded the master in this case.

This family has things going on just all the time, and it’s utter chaos some days. We are still waiting for Veruca and Victor to turn into vampires, and Helly is working on learning as many skills as she can to try to get the rest of her enhancements.

Things are starting to heat up just slightly between Guidry and Vincent. I don’t have any issues with these two, so if they end up doing this all on their own, fine by me. I don’t really have the time to nurture it, though.

Helly decides that she likes handiness, and I say, of course! I started having Helly repair everything so that she gains the skills. It takes so long to get these enhancements ready.

Veruca, after the expected few days of hell, finds herself transforming. We will get to her makeover here in a bit. I actually had a lot of fun making over their vampire form.

Right after his sister, in perfect timing, Victor feels his transformation as well. I love the PJs they put him in, but those will be changing. Still pretty funny.

Here are our heiress and her spare, all madeover in dark form. Don’t worry, Victor, I never thought of you as anything but a co-heir. I think they both look amazing, and I just ADORE this hair on Veruca.

Veruca very quickly wants a snack, and luckily, or unluckily if you are that sim, someone wanders by the property. Veruca heads out to try out this feeding thing.

Vincent also wants to try out some powers, and he gets to the point where he can cause hallucinations and heads out to try that out himself. I love that he still has Zona with him, even after all this time.

Veruca and Vincent spar, and Veruca proves she has lost none of her strength, and in fact may be even stronger than before, when she beats Vincent. He may be able to beat his sire, but his older sister is another matter.

Thankfully, there are no hard feelings between the two, and it’s good to spar and practice with others who are stronger than you. It helps make you stronger as well!

I almost forgot to show you pictures of Vincent’s room. He got this makeover quite a while ago, but I still think it turned out really nicely. He even has his little crow in the corner. I didn’t get a picture of it, but there is a chair there as well.

Meilani has reached another mastery perk, and this time she has Mental Muscles. That’s totally fine, I accept.

Helly gets another enhancement, and it was about this point that I was questioning if I would keep going to fully enhance Helly. It takes a long time!

We still have some time to decide, though, and first up is getting dark form photos of Veruca and Victor. It was actually no joke taking care of 3 vampires. Luckily, everyone had been breeding frogs like crazy for quite a while, so we had a good stack of plasma packs, but still.

Life got a bit chaotic for me with these guys, and I was struggling a bit with keeping everyone going and working on Helly. She was attempting to at least somewhat repair her relationship with Violet.

Vincent and Victor head out for a spar of their own one night. I did not capture who won, but I’m pretty sure it was Vincnet this time.

I had given, and then changed, Veruca the Sloppy Drinker weakness, and that was a mistake. She was constantly on the brink of going nuts from starvation. Even when she fed on others, which she started doing frequently, much to everyone else’s chagrin.

Ok, aliens, seriously, what is it about Meilani??? Poor Peanut was not a happy boy. Between the aliens and the specters, which he used to bark at all the time, it was a crazy night.

Helly is still working her way through “living” and trying to get to the next enhancement. I have tried various things to see if there are faster ways to go about this than others, but it doesn’t seem like there is much I can do.

Vincent decides to take his siblings over to Caleb’s house. There are multiple vampires here, and everyone can hang out with other vampires and ‘study’ vampireism in person. Helly also comes along.

Victor starts by showing off his powers, but then he and Veruca spar. It seems clear to me that the young female vampires are more enthralled and impressed with Veruca when she transforms.

Vincnet and Caleb also start a sparring session, and before you know it, there are vampires fighting in the air all over the place. It’s hard to know who to watch.

In the end, Veruca beat her brother, which surprises no one, I’m sure. Vincent, however, has beaten Caleb for the second time. He’s quite impressed with himself. Training against Veruca probably helped.

Helly was brought along because she needed to keep skilling so she could get more enhancements. So I sat her down to start skilling at their chess table. While doing that, she earned some mental muscles.

One of the specters clearly left some spectral drink behind that Violet looks quite pleased with herself for picking up. She has joined the social media career, and I feel like it suits her well.

We are still working on getting Helly enhanced. It was starting to really drag at this point. She was up around level 7 of 10. At this point, I was really starting to feel done with this challenge. I have really enjoyed it, and loved getting the twins all of their various lifestates, but I was not sure if I wanted to take the time to fully enhance Helly.

To try and spice it up a bit, we took Victor to try out his alluring aura vampire skill, and it was kind of fun. He also got a decent meal out of the deal.

Veruca opted to get a drink from her dad, since he was more than willing. Riley is a really great dad, just does everything for his kids. I’m glad I picked him for this challenge.

Victor finally reached the final level of his career. It took a long time, but all the work on Helly’s enhancements finally put him over the top of the robotics requirements for this position.

I sent Helly away from the house to try and see if we could focus solely on her and the skilling she needed to do. This let me focus on her without constantly trying to manage werewolves and vampires.

After fishing, she joined a meetup and painted, and got to know Riley’s mom and brother a bit more. After that, Helly went and worked on multiple pottery projects, which she promptly sold.

Helly liked a High Energy Sim, either Olivia or Xander. Either way, I told her she was welcome to like them. Then she is finally at level 8. Honestly, by this point, I was planning to call the challenge done. It took me so many real-life hours to get Helly to level 8 that I just didn’t want to spend even more time getting 2 more levels.

As I was shutting my game down, Meilani once again was being taken by the aliens. I have no idea why they are so fascinated with her. So that event almost marked the end of this entire challenge.

The next day, however, I felt more determined to try and get Helly those last two levels. So back into the game I went, and Violet, Vincent, and Helly played some video games.

Then Helly did some more fishing. This was actually a big help to the vampires who needed supplemental plasma packs beyond just the frogs.

Helly got the Mental Aura mastery perk, I mean, why not, and learned that she loves the outdoors. That was a mistake. Helly loved the outdoors to the point that she really wanted to go swimming, and I had to keep repairing her.

I kept going and managed to get a few things done with the rest of the family, including getting Violet to the Internet Personality branch, which suits her quite well. She makes werewolf-friendly vlogs of various kinds.

Victor finally got his paranormal investigator license, from Guidry, actually, and started going on some jobs here and there.

Helly started trying to enhance herself, instead of relying on Veruca and Victor to do it for her. Veruca gifted her the computer chips and mechanisms she had in her possession.

Helly then went up to start making all of her own mechanisms. That way, she could continue to upgrade herself and skill at the same time. While working on that, she decided she likes robotics.

Sigh, I swear, vampires and werewolves. At least this battle between Veruca and Violet, where Veruca won, even as a baby vampire against an apex werewolf, didn’t tank their friendship.

Helly spent a bunch of time fishing and chatting with the family. She was working on her charisma a bit. She is SLOWLY gaining that final enhancement.

Peanut hasn’t been featured much this update, but he is still loved and got a lot of extra special cuddles on the couch. We were just so focused on Helly that the family mostly took care of him without my input.

Vincent went out on a new paranormal investigation, and he was able to easily complete it without any issues. It was actually a house Meilani had visited once before.

It was Summer Fun day! Beyond Helly attempting to dive into the water and then breaking, because silly servo, everyone had a good day. It was capped off by the vampires playing with fireworks.

Here is a chance to see the “sleepwear” I gave to both Veruca and Victor. Veruca, of course, would put her hair down for sleeping, since they don’t do it very often.

However, we finally, FINALLY, got the notice that Helly was done. It looked for a moment that she had another enhancement still to go, but then that cleared. Helly has earned perfection, and this challenge is officially completed!

As a bonus, here is Victor’s very dark room. It was actually quite a fun room to decorate.

Veruca’s room is brighter and easier to see, but it is still a lot of fun for the various colors and items.

Here are closer-up photos of our photo wall. Every life state captured, so many memories gathered, and all members of the family documented. It was a ton of fun. Blue frames are Violet, Yellow are Vincent, Brown are Victor, Black are Veruca, Silver are Riley and Meilani, and Red are groups or “other” family members.

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 21

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to my Monster Mash challenge! We are speeding towards the end of this challenge. When we were last with the family, Meilani’s time came and she became a playable ghost, Violet finished another semester of school, Vercua and Victor trained up as werewolves, and Vincent trained up his vampire powers. Let’s dig back in!

When we join back up with the family, Veruca is busy either fixing up or enhancing Helly. I have determined two things. First, Servos take a long time to level up (although do NOT just try and download their enhancements, just have them skill.) Secondly, I need to find the cure for werewolfism!

I also realized one other thing: Helly is now a part of the family and needs a photo on the wall. I decided to have her take one with Guidry since he’s honorary family!

Not entirely sure what he was doing, but Vincent can now spacebend. That’s kind of funny to me, since he’s a vampire and can fly nearly instantly anywhere, but that’s ok.

Realizing that I am going to need to scour the tunnels and possibly dig around Moonwood Mill to find the book with the cure, we send Violet and Veruca out to the mill and down into the tunnels.

While she is running around in the tunnels, Veruca manages to reach the Prime level of werewolf! That’s great news, because it means she is officially at level 3 of being a werewolf, and once we can “cure” it, she can move onto her final lifestate.

Back at home, Vincent is studying to get his paranormal investigator’s license. He’s currently not doing much during the day, and this gives him something to focus on. I want to try and have him get it the “normal” way.

Victor is working on reading werewolf books. He knows there are things he can read that are written in a sort of code, and he is hoping we get lucky and find the cure. He also decides that he likes deception.

It is Victor’s turn to either tune up or enhance Helly this time around. He may not have maxed robotics yet, but he is good enough to help out with her.

I’m relatively certain it was Winterfest Eve, and everyone was trying to celebrate a bit. Many of the family members attended a holiday ceremony.

Victor has a stellar werewolf nose, and he started using it to try to help locate werewolf items. Such as the book that contains the cure. He also got into the bunker and started to check out the tunnels from there.

Without a lot of luck, Victor came home and turned into a werewolf, but was able to transform himself back at will. That gave him the final push into being a prime werewolf himself!

These aliens have gotten crazy. They take Meilani, who at least is not going to get pregnant being an elder ghost, but still. Violet was clearly trying to cook, or maybe just clean up when it happened.

She must have been trying to cook, because Victor went out to finish up the cooking and got himself electrocuted by lightning. This storm was not messing around this time.

Riley is still around and going strong so far. He helped out with the plants and decided that he liked gardening. He’s lived a long life, but still learns new things he enjoys.

It’s kind of dark, but we have started the werewolf collection and have a few pieces so far. I like the shelf they made for this one. It has very specific places for things, but it’s got a good layout.

It’s officially Winterfest, and the family celebrates fairly late. They open gifts, then sit down to play video games together. Although Violet does some homework as well. She still has classes to complete.

At the very end of Winterfest, Violet remembered it was a full moon, and so she heads out to grab some moonblossom. This apparently is a critical component to the cure, and I did not want to have to wait for another full moon.

Victor is back to reading books as deeply as he can. In some ways, he feels like he’s back in university. Violet has been traveling the tunnels as much as she can, and Vercua is mostly keeping Helly going.

Helly decides she really does not like malicious interactions and is quite upset at Victor. She also despises Violet, who has decided Helly is who she will snarl at anytime she wolfs out.

I suddenly got the notice that romance has started between Guidry and Vincent. I mean, I don’t mind that happening, but it was a bit sudden and unexpected.

Victor finally found the right book and sits down to read and reread until he is sure. Victor officially knows how to cure lycanthropy. They will need additional wolfsbane, but luckily, we have lots of seeds, and we have already planted one.

Helly gets her 3rd enhancement completed, and I realized it is going to be tough to get her fully upgraded. I was beginning to wonder if I wanted to take the time to finish that mini challenge.

For some reason, the fight between werewolves and vampires struck our house when Veruca and Vincent got into an epic battle. Veruca is a very strong sim, and she is a strong werewolf, so she takes her brother down fairly easily.

While all of that is going on, Violet is getting the notice that she has passed her final semester with flying colors! All A+’s and she is going to graduate with a terrific GPA. Congrats to Violet! She also gains skillful sleep, like everyone else in the family.

Once everything starts to calm down again, Veruca heads up to start making parts for Helly’s next enhancement. Victor goes and starts researching something. Maybe it’s how long it will take for the cure to take effect.

Victor and Veruca have officially met the “requirements” I set out for myself to change lifestates and are both unlocking level 3 abilities. It’s time to wrap up this challenge.

Victor mixes up the first of the werewolf cures. It took a bit to get enough ingredients, and in the end, Meilani helped by copypastoing a few things for him to use.

Veruca grabs the drink and sits down to sip on it. She’s ready for this final lifestate, but is a bit sad to leave being a werewolf behind her. Werewolves, at least, get a fun transformation back to being a human.

Before anything further happens, though, Violet is drawn to the little specter with glasses. This guy is so cute, but everyone wants to interact with him. They stop what they are doing to go talk with him.

Helly has to charge, but the rest of the family, for the most part, are up all sorts of various hours, and it’s a good way for them to all stay close.

Victor heads over to mix up the next of the wolfcures, and while he is at it, he decides this mixology thing is actually pretty fun. Sure Victor, you are welcome to like mixology.

Before Victor can drink his cure, though, we need to see Violet off to graduation. Congrats to Violet! I’m very proud of her!! All the kids did great in university.

Once she is back, Victor grabs the cure and downs it. He is less sure about losing his werewolf side, but I think he’s going to enjoy being a vampire. It’s quite the transformation.

Violet and her twin have had some ups and downs, but they share a fun little picture to celebrate Violet’s graduation. It’s crazy to know that we are one lifestate away from finishing, and I felt like we were so far away not that long ago.

We will end with a picture of the photowall. It doesn’t have Violet’s graduation photos up there yet, but those are coming. It’s grown, changed, and developed a lot over time. I will not be requiring the level 3 of vampirism to be completed before calling this challenge complete, just turning would be enough, but I will try to get them to level up at least some, and use vampire powers. That will all happen next time, though!

Thank you so much for reading, as always, and I hope you have enjoyed the updates. We will be back soon with what may be the final chapter of this challenge! I hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I have.

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 20

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Monster Mash update. I know these have been coming quick and fast at you, and we will hopefully be done with this challenge very soon. The last time we were with the family, Vercua brought a servo to life called Helly, and she learned the spell to bring Vincent back to life. Then she and Victor were turned into werewolves thanks to Violet. Vincent took his second chance at life and started training with Caleb. Let’s dig in!

First, we will start off with Violet’s new room, which is our werewolf-inspired room. It’s not the easiest to see, but I put a bunch of scratches and stuff on the walls. I think it turned out fun. Obviously, Violet was taking a nap.

When we rejoin the rest of the family, we have received the notice that Meilani’s life is coming to an end. It’s crazy she was an adult for so much longer than Riley, but thanks to Riley’s fitness, he’s going to live for even longer.

This was so sweet! Riley and Meilani were feeling a bit distant, but after really tending to each other’s needs, they got the close dynamic. They have had the occasional rocky patch, but their love has always remained.

It was dark, and Peanut wanted a walk, so Vincent took the chance to walk him. They made it back without any issues, since it was about 11 PM when they left, but Vincent has learned to be a bit careful.

Sadly, Meilani was ready to move on to the other side. She and Riley were having a home date when it happened, which certainly put a damper on the date. He walked into the bathroom for a moment, and it was her time.

Grim arrived and walked right past her and into the bathroom. Grim, you are NOT here for Riley, not yet! Were you confused, or did you just feel it was right to go get Riley?

Sure enough, a moment later, Riley followed Grim out of the bathroom and right back to Meilani. That was just too funny in the midst of something so sad.

There was no reason to plead for her life. Meilani led a long life, and she will remain a ghost member of this family. She had already made everyone promise not to try to save her. She got to see Vincent return to “life” and passed her magic onto her kids, so she felt her mission was complete.

Grim decides to hang around a bit, but obviously Meilani is staying right here for now. You can see Helly in the back attempting to either recharge or download updates, which I have since learned is not the way to go.

When Helly wakes up, she is now paranoid. I guess when you have to shut down to recharge, you don’t know what people might do to you. Sure, Helly, you are now paranoid.

Guidry broke all the rules when he flirted with Meilani in front of Riley, and she responded. That crushed Riley, who was dealing with losing her, even though she’s just a ghost now, but now she starts up some romance with Guidry?

What a household looks like when you have a bunch of werewolves. They were all hanging around talking about the werewolf experience. Victor is behind his sisters in werewolf power, but we’re getting there.

Vincent is getting better at his medium skill, and is a high enough level to summon Bonehilda, so we go ahead and do that. There isn’t much for her to do currently, but why not have another creature around?

Violet finished yet another semester, and her grades are basically the same as they always are. She is consistently getting A’s and B’s. The next semester is her final semester.

She goes ahead and signs up for another set of classes. This time, she focused fully on her degree. I didn’t notice it when I was picking classes, but I love that one is called Marvelous Mr. Maslow. That is so clearly a play on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (which is a great show if you haven’t seen it).

Meilani begins trying to make up with Riley after flirting with Guidry. We had all forgotten that he gets jealous of non-physical romance, too. They aren’t back to normal, but they are slowly building back their relationship.

Veruca and Victor share a howl upstairs in Veruca’s room. It’s so cute that Vussur is still around, and so is Zona. She just isn’t pictured here. Veruca is very close to being level 3 in her werewolf skills. We just need Victor to get there as well.

Thankfully, after Victor’s most recent fury-induced rampage, he is able to transition back to normal. He did try to get up into his room before transition so as to not scare anyone, but it didn’t quite work. Next time, hopefully.

Vincent is determined to keep learning more about being a vampire, and his sire is the best person he knows to teach him. So while everyone else is sleeping, Vincent heads out to Caleb’s for more training.

The training really wiped out Vincent this time around, so before heading home, he had to spend some time in dark meditation. That then left him quite hungry, but he wasn’t going to snack on Caleb’s household.

Luckily, on the beach outside his house, he found a, well, maybe not willing, participant. He didn’t need much, just a small snack, but more than a plasma pack would grant him.

Veruca was really nearing her next transformation while sitting and chatting with Violet. She’s in really good spirits, though, and knows she can weather this change just like the last one.

Not entirely sure what Meilani was working on, but she has now unlocked the ability to be In The Zone. That seems to be a popular one in this family, right up there with skillful sleep.

While sitting down and chatting with Violet, Victor decides he really enjoys talking about hobbies. Sure Victor, that’s a good conversation topic!

Veruca turns into her wolfie self and has locked herself away in her bedroom and the bathroom shared with her brother. By the time she is through the transformation and back to her old self, she has to repair both sinks that she broke while in wolf form.

After leading a hunting party with her siblings, poor Violet got a shock of lightning while trying to enjoy breakfast. Veruca made sure she was ok and they hustled into the house.

There, the two enjoyed a fun tug of war. A random woman was walking through our home, and the brothers were discussing things in the back. It was very early in the morning.

Right after that, everyone decided to come into the living room and hang out, including the random woman who had just walked in. The werewolves are all having a bit of a “conference” while Riley is talking with Helly. The only one missing is Meilani, who was asleep.

Veruca is feeling a bit restless, and since Peanut was asking for a walk, she decides to take him. Sometimes Vincent is able to do that at night, but it was now far too sunny to let him do it, and Victor was busy reading werewolf books.

That is where we are going to end this update. Sadly, Helly and Violet despise each other right now due to Helly’s fear whenever she transforms. Everyone else seems pretty ok with it, although she has to apologize to Meilani fairly often. We will be back soon, though, and hopefully Veruca and Victor will be able to complete their time as werewolves. Thanks for reading, and I hope you will join me for the next update!

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Monster Mash update. We are blazing right along, and the last time we were with this family, Veruca and Victor were working on their magic, got jobs, and Veruca finished building a servo. Vincent continued to be a ghost, and Violet got through another semester of school and became an Apex werewolf. Let’s dig in!

At first, I didn’t think the servo was working. No one could interact with it, then I discovered it was somehow “stuck” in the machine. Moved it over a smidge, and she popped right out. Meet Helly Cobb.

This is my first-ever servo, and she has already decided she likes deception. She has the traits Cringe, Slob, and Self-Assured. I’m not sure I love the idea of a slob servo, but that’s ok.

With Helly getting to know the rest of the family, Veruca heads out to the magic realm to get some additional training. She works on a potion she had the ability to make, and this time it’s done without a hitch. She bottles it all up for safekeeping.

While she is there, she gets in some dueling to up her magical ability and starts to get close to overcharging. Vussur warns her, and she decides to head home.

Victor may not be at level 10 in his robotics, but he’s level 8, and that means he is able to help keep Helly in tip-top shape and also help with her upgrades as needed.

It’s Spooky Day, and everyone picks out a fun costume to wear for the occasion. Like last year, Veruca is a cheerleader. It was an easy choice to practice her magic in.

Helly gets a costume too, and gets a rather human face and skin as well. It’s a little bizarre, but hey, it’s Spooky Day!

Veruca comes home with a promotion to the top of her career. She is now level 10, and while she will keep working, we no longer have to focus on her non-magical skills.

Victor, meanwhile, has unlocked Skillful Sleep as a mastery perk. I swear, everyone around here can skillfully sleep. We always have a full household of ghosts or projections.

Violet wakes up and heads out ot the lights. Of course, the aliens would abduct her. At least she doesn’t have a chance to get pregnant from this. I’m glad they haven’t grabbed Vincent or Victor so far, just the girls.

Vercua finally learns the skill she has been studying nonstop since becoming a spellcaster to learn. Both Veruca and Victor have been Acolytes for a while, but it turns out this is a master skill.

Vercua casts her spell, and Vincent is suddenly feeling very corporeal. He is back to, well, undead, flesh and blood. Vincent is once again alive, as much as a vampire can be. You can see we have already used his room to decorate for a vampire.

Victor and Veruca take one last trip to the magic realm to speak with the sages. Their mom doesn’t have the ability to remove their magic. For some reason, that is something that appears only a sage can do.

I did not get a picture of their skill trees, but both were up above Acolytes, and it’s sad that there is no animation for losing your magic. Instead, there is just a pop-up. That’s kind of disappointing. I know mermaids don’t either, but they at least have to eat something.

When they get back home, Veruca goes right to her sister and asks her to turn her. Vercua is already almost halfway through being an adult, and she’s got to get through two more lifestates. Violet gladly turns her.

Victor gets the same treatment from Violet, and in a couple of days, we will have 3 werewolves running around this place. That should be quite the chaos.

Veruca takes on Helly’s newest upgrade, and that girl has gotten crazy fit. All of that swimming and jogging really built up some of her muscles. It’s kind of funny to see those strong abs on a sim who isn’t crazy thin.

Now that he is no longer a ghost, Vincent spends some time acclimating his crow to this new existence. The crow didn’t seem to care and gave Vincent a gift from the crow council.

Meilani is at a house with a horse for her next job. The “garage” room needed a lot of help and seemed to be where the majority of the haunting was taking place.

In no time, Meilani had the place cleared and was thanked for another job well done. She would like to pass this on to Vincent, maybe, who is really the only child who would like the hours.

Back at home, Helly is busy studying a magical tome. The way she is turning the pages just kind of cracks me up.

Veruca understood what was about to happen before she wolfed out for the first time. She went into her room and locked herself in. There, she destroyed her bed and the toilet, but it was better than scaring everyone.

Vincent didn’t have such qualms, and he was outside when his transition started. He ended up snarling at his mom and then felt bad about it. Next transition, he is planning to lock himself in as well.

Alone at night, Vincent heard the party happening and flew over to check it out. He was feeling peckish and decided to snack on one of the guys there.

After the light snack, he decided not to head home but rather to go to his sire’s house and talk to Caleb. They chatted for a bit, and Vincent told him of all the events that had transpired.

He asked Caleb to help train him in vampire powers, and Caleb was happy to oblige. Vincent tried to be a good student and take in everything Caleb was showing him.

Then Vincent decided to ask Caleb for a vampire duel. Caleb told him he wasn’t likely to win, but Vincent figured the worst had already happened once, so he might as well push his limits. Sure enough, Caleb took him down pretty easily, but they ended it with a friendly handshake.

When Vincent got home, we got the notice that Helly wants to be considered Cheerful now. I mean, why not? You can be cheerful, Helly.

For some reason, Victor never transformed back to his human self. Violet is curious about it, and they aren’t sure of the reason. They are going to see how his next transition goes soon.

Violet and Veruca decide to spar, since Veruca is able to transform at will already. Having her sister around to get expertise from has really helped her feel in control of her wolf form from the start.

I gave everyone some wolf outfits, and then we took a few more pictures for the photo wall. The newest lifestate is well on its way. Since I never put them away, Vussur and Zona (Victor’s phoenix) are both still with their bonded people.

That gives us another update to our photo wall. That feels like a really good place to leave this chapter. I will show off the werewolf room we created next time. It was decided that it would be Violet’s bedroom, as the Apex werewolf. It worked out just like Vincent’s is already a vampire room for the challenge. Thank you so much for reading. We are getting really close to being done with this challenge, and I hope you will join us next time.

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 18

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another update for the Monster Mash challenge with the Cobb family! The last time we visited with this family, Veruca and Victor finished up their time as fairies and became spellcasters. They also graduated from university. Vercua and Victor started their plan to try and get their brother back to his immortal, but physical life, hopefully before their parents are gone. Let’s dig in!

We join the family during the night, where Guidry is being the best ghost and fixing our electronics for us. Meilani would have done it with magic in the morning, but it’s nice of Guidry to help out.

Speaking of ghosts, Vincent is bonding with his crow more and more. The crow disappears occasionally to visit the crow council, but he always reports back and Vincent is glad to have him.

Peanut is not left out, and Guidry gives our ghost dog a bunch of affection and ghost pampering on the couch. This house really does have a lot of ghosts right now. Almost as many as there are living people.

Vincent got pranked by his dad, but he loved it. Vincent now likes pranks, which makes a lot of sense.

Veruca is determined to master, or at least get really good, at untamed magic. Even though it’s not Meilani’s “speciality”, much of the magical practice and requirements are general in nature and she helps train Veruca in those aspects.

With Veruca working hard to learn magic and believing she was the one most likely to help their brother, Victor got started on his part of the plan. He was to make computer chips and mechanisms galore.

Vercua has learned how to make the plentiful needs potion and uses it as a way to grow her experience a bit more. While this likely would be considered fairly practical magic, potions are well shared across disciplines.

It might be mostly up to Veruca to level up her magic, but Victor needs to grow his magical powers, too. So everyone heads to the magic realm where Veruca and Victor duel. The poor guy in the middle looks like he’s about to get caught up in their duel.

Once the duel was done, Vercua grabbed some mac and cheese from the cauldron that always seems to have some and went to search out the current sage of untamed magic and chat with him.

Vincent is taking being a ghost in stride. He knows his family is working on it, and he gets to spend a lot of time with Peanut, especially at night.

Violet has a new presentation due this semester, and it’s very similar, if not the exact same as last semester. This is what I was mentioning an update or two ago. It makes me a bit sad as I wish they were a bit more varied.

Everything has hit a new normal, now that Veruca and Victor have graduated. They both go ahead and get jobs, and I let them do the “jump” in the careers. Victor becomes a Computer Engineer and Veruca an Electrical Engineer.

Victor pulls Veruca aside and hands her all the computer chips and mechanisms he’s been working on. He also got some from joining his career, and he passes most of those onto her as well. He can easily make more if needed.

Both kids got to work on their work tasks, but Victor broke his computer, which Guidry came up to fix for him. I swear, get yourself a Guidry, seriously. Veruca had to work on the bench, and it took her forever to get through her task. She kept stopping to go chat with a specter and would have to start over.

Because her dad came to chat with her and keep her company as she worked, Vercua decided she liked compliments. Vincent unlocked a mastery perk for himself as well. He can now be In The Zone.

Luckily, all her hard work paid off, and Veruca got a promotion. That puts her at level 9 of her career already, which is great. She can max it in no time.

Thanks to Victor’s efforts, Veruca is close to being able to start building the servo as well. She is also getting through her magical studies. Victor is a bit behind her, understandably, but they are both working hard.

For some reason, Vincent decided that he is now unflirty. I didn’t really see a reason for him to say no, so all right. Vincent, you are now unflirty.

Thanks to the last batch of mechanisms Victor handed her, Vercua can start on the servo. You may also notice her room has changed. I decided that, for the eldest twins, their rooms would reflect their different lifestates. One wall is mermaid-inspired, the next fairy-inspired, and the third spellcaster-inspired. I’ll take photos of them at the end.

The servo isn’t the only thing Veruca needs to work on, and luckily, the servo being started doesn’t stop them from using the bench for work tasks as well.

Riley and Meilani work to connect romantically. The household has been so busy and everyone so focused on getting Vincent back that these two lost a bit of their romance, but they were able to repair it quickly.

Riley decides that he likes stories, thanks to his daughter, and while connecting with his wife, Meilani earns the romantic sage trait, which is wonderful.

Meilani is in pretty high spirits, and her astral projection has an easy time with the herbalism skill. I know it’s a “bug,” but it’s just so funny when they work this skill on the stove and the wrong burner.

Veruca is back at work on her servo the next day. These things take a long time to make. While working on it, Vercua unlocks the Aspirational Thinker mastery perk. Of course, we say yes to that.

We may have been working the twins a bit too hard, as both Victor and Veruca failed at making a new batch of plentiful needs potions. Both passed out, and even Meilani got hit.

Veruca decides that what she needs is a good jog. Something to let her clear her mind. She decides to go alone, since Peanut had gotten a jog earlier in the day. She’s felt so focused on getting the servo done and Vincent back that she hadn’t done much for herself.

After she is back from her jog, Veruca and Victor duel out in front of the house. They go back and forth, and Victor actually wins their best out of 3. Great job, Victor!

The semester comes to an end for Violet, and she once again gets really good grades. She did select 3 new classes, which I apparently neglected to take a photo of.

It’s Summer Fun day, and Veruca is back to jogging, but this time she brought Peanut. I think Peanut prefers jogging with a “regular” sim vs a fairy.

That evening, the family all swims in the bay and enjoys the water before setting off a bunch of fireworks from their deck. It allowed for a good summer holiday overall.

They did attempt to sit around the fire pit, but, of course, the thing caught fire. TWICE! First, Veruca was saved by some strangers walking by, and then Violet had to be saved by Vincent. Everybody was sent to bed.

Violet becomes an Apex Werewolf. She is likely now able to go take on Greg with a bit more training, and she can now lead hunting parties, which will be nice when her siblings join her in this lifestate.

Victor finally gets his promotion to level 9 of his career, but he now needs to max his robotics skill, which isn’t likely to happen for a bit. He now needs to focus on magic.

Veruca spends some time taking care of the plants. The houseplants were all either smashed or died from neglect. I kept forgetting about them (or Violet smashed them as a werewolf), but the regular plants are well taken care of.

Vercua duels her brother some more and eventually takes on her mom. Meilani beats her daughter soundly, but Veruca beats Victor, who sadly gets another curse regarding dueling. He’s not having a good time as a spellcaster.

Veruca is then back inside, reading more about magic and trying to level up her magical prowess even more. She realized she was going to need to get a level higher than she expected in order to learn the proper spell, but she is determined.

That wasn’t her only focus, though, and with her father and, of course, Vussur, watching, she finishes the servo. All that is left is to see if she can bring it to life.

Riley leaves, and Vercua is left to check all the settings and start the process of bringing her creation to life. Victor was a huge help and should be credited for getting us to this point. He made a good portion of the parts.

That, however, is where we are going to leave this chapter. You will have to wait until next time to see if Veruca successfully made a servo. If she did, that gets us one step closer to completing the mini challenge, but we still have to have it fully upgraded. Thank you, as always, for reading, and I hope you will come by for the next update!

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 17

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to the next Monster Mash update. We have a lot to get through today, and this is likely going to be a bit of a longer chapter, so let’s get to it. The last time we visited, Vincent died of sunlight and became a playable ghost. Meilani aged up into an elder sim and tried to learn how to bring back her son, and the eldest twins made plans. Let’s dig in!

We start with Meilani back in the magic realm searching desperately for the tome that would give her the knowledge she needs to help her son. Sadly, that tome remains hidden from her.

Back at home, Meilani continues to try to figure out how to help Vincent, and Veruca focuses on her studies. The faster she can get through this semester, the faster she can execute her plans.

Victor and Veruca always seem to have homework they need to get done quickly. Violet also tends to have this, but she seems to get through hers easier. Her class schedule is a bit more forgiving than the others.

Veruca becomes a glimmering fairy while feeding her emotional force with some fairy dust. Getting to the third level of the nature abilities is at the “required” (by me) level to switch lifestates. She will wait for her brother, though.

Vincent is a playable ghost, which is technically a new lifestate for him, so we get his picture. Our little vampire ghost.

I cannot remember what Victor was doing with fairy dust here, but he knows it’s up to him to get to the next level as quickly as possible. His twin and his brother are counting on him.

It’s a good thing Meilani is already a master spellcaster. Otherwise, her relentless practice would likely cause her to overcharge. We do not need another death in the family yet.

Veruca unlocks her own Mastery Perk by getting Mental Muscles. That is probably good, because Veruca is going to be doing a lot of mental work soon. She also decides that she really likes artsy sims.

I’m sad that I didn’t realize this before, but fairies can help relieve werewolf fury. Victor and Veruca help out Violet, who was about to wolf out uncontrollably, and reduce her fury. I am going to wish we had a fairy around when the twins are werewolves I’m sure.

Vercua, I think, but maybe Victor was there as well, was having a dance party. Riley couldn’t help himself and joined the party when he heard the music coming from the house. He’s such a good dad.

Thankfully, all that partying meant that Victor was now a rank 3 fairy himself, and he leveled up the emotion portion of the tree. He enjoyed the mischievousness of being a fairy, but it was time to implement their plans.

Meilani was called to a new house for a haunting. She completed it, but it was a rough time. Meilani felt distracted and uniquely scared this time around. Maybe it was her older age, maybe it was knowing her kids were counting on her to be around to teach them magic, but all was ok.

Veruca was out of class early, and she had the fairy seed tucked safely in her pocket. She traveled to Innisgreen and planted the little seed.

When Mother Nature arrived, Veruca explained the situation and asked to be turned back to a “normal” sim. She listened carefully and took Vercua’s emotional force with further instruction.

Another trip to Moonrop to return her emotional essence to the spring, and she was taken up into the air and dropped back on her feet, without wings.

Veruca was a normal sim again, but she also immediately aged up into an adult, which startled her a bit, but it didn’t matter. She needed to get home.

Veruca goes straight for her mom and lets her know of the plan, then asks to be turned into a spellcaster. Meilani is thrilled to be able to do this, and, hoping for the best, turns Veruca into a spellcaster.

Meilani had been saving up for this day, hoping it would happen before she left this world. She had a little care package complete with a new familiar for Veruca.

Veruca welcomed the little dragon familiar into her life and bonded with him. His name is Vussur. With Vussur by her side, she started her practice. She had learned much from her mother already, and now they were in a race against time.

Once he was done with his classes, Victor was off to Innisgreen himself to go through the same transformation. Mother Nature was expecting him and quickly performed the removal of his emotional force.

Victor hussled off to the spring and poured his emotional force into it, and felt his wings retract. He then also, to his own surprise, aged up into an adult. He decided fairy power must have kept him young, but he beelined towards home.

Meilani understood what was happening by the time Victor returned home, so when he asked her to turn him, it wasn’t a surprise. She quickly performed the rite, and Victor was now a spellcaster like Veruca.

Much like for Veruca, Meilani already had a little magical package ready for Victor, complete with his own familiar to befriend. Victor was touched.

Now the kitchen is a newly magical place and suited for all the spellcasters in the home. I think it turned out lovely, and as one person pointed out to me, you can just imagine what it would be like to sit at the table and watch the sun descend over the water (or maybe it rises on this side of the house, but either way).

In all the commotion of Veruca and Victor being turned, Violet had her own epiphany and decided she really does like to be Active. That’s probably good for a werewolf, since she expends a lot of energy running around.

Violet got her grades for the first semester, and she did really well. Now quite as good as Veruca, but A’s and B’s are wonderful, especially with all the changes occurring. She signed up for another 3 classes for her next semester, and even has enough scholarships at this point to be getting money from the school!

Veruca, as I have come to expect, got straight A’s, which means she has a near-perfect GPA. She had that one semester where she didn’t get all A+’s, but it’s still an A+ GPA. Congratulations, Veruca, you really excelled!

Victor also finished strong and ended up with an A GPA. He had that one rough semester, but otherwise has been consistent with A’s and B’s, just like Violet seems to be.

Pictures are needed for the wall of Veruca and Vincent in their “spellcaster” phase, so we make sure someone takes pictures that include them practicing magic with their familiars.

Even though they are done with school and just await graduation, Veruca and Victor are not done with studying. Victor is going to work the Mischief discipline of magic (of course), while Veruca tackles the Untamed magic, which she believes has the key to saving Vincent.

Speaking of Vincent, he never really got to spend time with his new crow until after he died, but he’s added him to his room and starts getting to know the young bird better.

I don’t think Guidry got the notice about the changes in the family right away. I found him reading a fairytale to the fairy house, but there was no one around to listen.

Riley continues to do things like juggle his ball and now has unlocked the In The Zone mastery perk, which maxes the mastery perks he can get. Because he is in such great shape, he’s going to be around for a long time.

It’s graduation day, and Vercua and Victor head out to the ceremony. I really do wish everyone could come and attend, but it’s ok. They cheer with their classmates and throw their hats in the air when it’s over.

Veruca gets started on some food when they get back home. I should have planned a party with the whole family, but instead, they will all just celebrate together.

While waiting for the food to be done, Victor works on his spells and tries to cast some spells on passersby. He manages to get a curse that causes spells to backfire on him sometimes. Not the best start for Victor.

More picture taking is done, of course, to celebrate the achievement. Sadly, their graduation photos are blank (got hit by that curse), so these will have to do.

Veruca gets herself a picture with Guidry, and I planned on getting one with Victor, but he got tired and changed out of his gown before I could. We at least know Guidry was around.

The photo wall continues to change and has grown over time. We have the kids’ diplomas instead of their grad pictures now included. We still have spots to fill, of course, and some of those will be taken up with future lifestates, but for now, that is where we will finally bring this update to a close.

This update didn’t end up as long as I feared it might, but if you made it to the end, thank you for reading! I hope you are enjoying this family, and I’ve been having fun giving some motivation to some of these changes. We will be back soon to see if Veruca and Vincent can learn the spell to bring Vincent back, and I hope to see you for the next update soon! Thanks for reading!!

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 16

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello, and welcome back once again to the Moster Mash. I know there are 3 other challenges to still complete, and if you are anxiously waiting for more Easter Egg and Sweet Lips updates, they are coming, but I decided to finish this challenge first, and then we’ll be back to bash those out as quickly as we can. In the meantime, the last time we were with this branch of the Cobb family, they celebrated Winterfest, Vincent got used to being a vampire, the fairies did a bunch of fairy things, and we finished the 3rd semester for Veruca and Victor, and Violet started university. Let’s dig in!

When we first rejoin the family, Violet is busy working on her homework, and is soon followed by Veruca and Victor as well. The start of a semester is always a busy one, trying to get everything “done” before classes really start in earnest.

Meilani, I think, suggested they try out some flirty costumes again. I am not sure ninjas are necessarily what I think of as flirty, but hey, if it works for them. They spent time that evening in their room just enjoying the outfits.

I’m not entirely sure what it did for sure, but Vercua had the chance to “Nurture Nature” on Peanut, and so she did. Maybe it helped with his needs? It’s hard to know since we can’t see much regarding pets.

Then it’s back to homework for Victor and Vercua. Guidry and Vincent join them, since they are the night denizens of this household now.

The specters, or someone, took out the power for a bit, but Vercua didn’t mind so much, having her fairy house. It was glitched out for a while, unfortunately, but all is well again.

Vincent is trying to find his “niche” in this family. He does do a lot to take care of Peanut at night and has built up quite a bond with him, and with Guidry, through the nights. He has also taken to practicing communing with the dead, like his mother.

There is really nothing like spending breakfast with a werewolf. Violet really enjoys wolfing down the raw meat she hunts for. She has kept herself quite comfortably in the bloody goodness.

I do occasionally forget I have to maintain the house plants, but luckily, the fairies are usually pretty good at taking care of all of the plants, including the new ones Victor planted last update.

A new fairy action I learned about is the ability to cleanse themselves in nature. This raises their hygiene as they flitter in and out of the plant. It’s really quite cute. I was finding fairies a bit finicky, and wasn’t enjoying them as much as mermaids, but they are growing on me.

Violet and Victor both have presentations to make this semester, and both get started on their boards. I kind of like that they are different colors. I thought the boards were a bit too similar before, but they do have quite a bit of variety to them.

It can be tough to remember that it’s snowy winter in other areas of the simverse. Meilani gets called out to a location full of snow for her next job. She’s warm enough, overall, and gets through it as quickly as she can.

Luckily, it goes off without a hitch, and she is able to get back out of the cold and home to her warm and wonderful island before too long.

Victor’s focus on his presentation board pays off, and before long, he’s got it the way he wants it. He could tweak it a bit more, but really, it’s ready to present when it’s time. Last presentation completed!

Veruca also had a presentation board, and no longer has room in her room to work on it, so she moved it out to the deck. Hopefully, we don’t have any storms to ruin it anytime soon.

Meilani has noticed Vincent’s studying of the medium skill, and when it’s time to do a new seance, she invites him to join her. It goes well, and Vincnet feels like this might be where he belongs.

Vincent has been living on plasma packs, thanks to his family’s willingness to breed frogs and let him turn them into plasma packs. He was very hungry after working with his mom, though, and his dad is more than willing to let him feed.

Violet finishes up her presentation and tries to explain it all to her brother. I think Vincent plastered on a smile and nodded along without having any idea what she was talking about.

Veruca was finishing up her presentation board before the party that was planned for that night. Guests started to arrive, and it’s time to celebrate.

Meilani is aging up and will now be an elder. She probably lived a longer adult life than she was supposed to, but that’s ok. We didn’t really know at the time, and we are aging her up now.

Meilani is now an elder, but she’s still lovely. I’ll probably give her a bit of a makeover at some point, but for now, there is still technically a party going on.

It took longer than it probably needed to for most everyone to mosey over. They were all gathered at the edge of the map, for some reason, and not coming in, but we eventually got most of them.

Meilani sits and plays games with some of her sister-in-laws. It’s been a long time since the majority of the family got together to hang out. I should turn on aging again, probably.

During the party, Victor finds he likes cerebral sims. That makes sense, since he is learning tech stuff, and he would want to be able to speak about a lot of cerebral stuff now.

Victor then also gets himself the In The Zone mastery perk unlocked. I don’t remember what he unlocked this for, but we went ahead and said yes.

Sadly, we go from celebration to mourning. For some reason, Vincent was dropped off after work on the other side of the island, and he is not able to get back home before the sun burns him.

Veruca is there and tries to plead with Grim. Victor is hot on her heels and adds his pleas, but to no avail. Vincent is reaped, and the family mourns.

Thankfully, we now have the option to have a playable ghost, and that is what Vincent is going to become. We have plans for Vincent, and I refuse to give them up yet. Not without a fight.

Meilani’s magical focus was practical magic, but she knows there is a spell that will bring back her son. She tries to learn untamed magic, but it’s not her specialty.

Meilani even heads to the magical realm again and asks the sage of untamed magic. He helps her understand some, but it’s all low-level, and she is frustrated. She doesn’t have time to develop a whole new specialty in magic.

Meilani might feel thwarted right now, but Vincent is still here and takes some time to practice his vampiric powers. He also does some dark meditation to try to quell the sadness he feels. He had just gotten started.

He may be a ghost now, but that doesn’t stop Vincent from realizing he also kind of likes gardening, especially taking care of the plasma fruit tree. He feels weirdly like he still needs to drink, but isn’t really sure where it goes.

The elder twins discuss their goals and know what they are going to do next. Both plan to devote themselves to their fairy powers, and since they haven’t found anything that would help their brother, they will study the two branches of magic their mother did not. Victor has also been working on computer chips and gifts them to Veruca for the Servo.

That is where we will end this chapter. I hope you have enjoyed this update and that you will come back for the future updates I have coming. There is still a lot left in this challenge!

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Monster Mash challenge update! I hope you are enjoying the quick updates for this challenge. I have until partway through November to finish up all of the challenges, so they are going to keep coming in rapid succession, I hope. Anyway, the last time we were with the family, Vincent became a vampire, Violet took on the Lone Wolf aspiration, and Meilani did a bunch of paranormal work. Let’s dig in!

Veruca is busy with our houseplants when we are back with the family. We had picked up some house planters and had a variety of both houseplants and planted herbs and flowers.

Riley gets the chance to use Skillful Sleep again and this time I am sure to say yes, so now Meilani and Riley can astral project together at night!

Vincent was really hungry and asked his twin if he could drink from her. She said yes, but he drank a little too deeply for her liking. He also isn’t likely to ask her again. Apparently, she tasted like wet dog.

Meilani may not be in as good of shape as her hubby, but one way they can spend time together is by juggling the ball, one of Riely’s favorite pastimes. Meilani is getting better at it herself.

For some reason, Vincent was doing enough to decide he is also now a perfectionist. This is a perfectionist family, my goodness. Everyone is a perfectionist.

Vincent spends more time awake during the nights now, since sleeping isn’t really something he needs to do much of. So he gets to know Guidry a bit more. It’s not like Guidry hasn’t been around his entire life, but the second set of twins didn’t get to know him as well as Veruca and Victor.

To fill his evenings, Vincent has taken up mixology and is teaching himself about new drinks, including a plasma drink that really hits the spot for a vampire. I wish the job of a mixologist didn’t start out as a daytime career. I know he could probably do it, but I might have him take the mantle of paranormal investigator from his mom.

Victor discovered that fairies can play in the mailboxes and spend a good amount of time playing around in theirs. Fairies have all sorts of things they can “play” in, it’s kind of fun.

Haha, ummm….Victor’s a bit too young for you, my dear. We went ahead and just told her let’s be friends. Victor is mischievous, but not outright mean.

Victor, not being tired all the time at night, takes to filling his time hanging out with his brother and Guidry, tending to the plants, and learning about apothecary. The “greenhouse” actually ended up being expanded a bit to make room for the plasma tree. The house is just a bit longer now, and the back deck is a bit smaller.

It’s Winterfest Eve, so the presents start to get piled up. The house doesn’t get much decorating. I have a lot of decorating to do for the challenge itself. Also, the holiday nearly slipped past me.

Veruca had enchanted this plant, and we ended up with pixies to chase away. They couldn’t do it when it was on the table for some reason, so I had to move it. They were able to chase them away, then I put it back.

Victor earned enough fairy points to allow him to give other sims ailments. So he heads out to fulfill his mischievous spirit and start giving them to people.

Veruca is also using her fairy powers, but she was really running low on her emotional force, so she absorbed the emotion of one of the visitors who had stopped by.

Winterfest Day felt much the same as most days in Sulani, although it hasn’t been a stormy season, which is nice. Veruca and Vincent eat their grand meal in the arboretum (which is probably a better description than a greenhouse). Then everyone opens up their gifts.

Violet started feeling paranoid, and I decided, sure, why not? Violet, the werewolf, can become a paranoid werewolf. This should keep things interesting.

Late one evening, Meilani needed to go try to speak with Edith for her aspiration. She took a trip with Vincent, who wanted to get himself a raven, to Ravenwood. There, she attempted communication with Edith, which didn’t go well, but she did check off the aspiration task. It took a while for Vincent to find the merchant, but he got his crow, and they both headed home.

I had to take this picture because I loved that while Veruca, I think, was taking a bath in the fairy house, there were bubbles coming out all over. It’s super cute, and I think the bath took less time than the full-sized version.

Veruca has gotten into the natural side of being a fairy and spends time nurturing the plants around the house. She also unlocked the ability to create a seed all by herself. It takes a fair amount of power, but it’s fun.

So it took me a while to realize that fairies can help out mermaids, but this message was still weird, as that is an infant wanting to be soothed. I’m not sure what happened there, but oh well.

Violet, finally, came home with a promotion in the Simfluencer career she started as a teen. She struggled to build all the required skills for this job, and the werewolf side liked to explode when she needed to work.

These two have really gotten pretty cute. I also realized Meilani is past due to age up. I accidentally, without realizing what it would do, used one of the soul pieces from the specters, thinking it would add a few days, since she did “sell” a piece of her soul once, but instead it set back her lifestage.

The specters can really get to Peanut some nights, but luckily, Guidy is there for him to spend time with. Peanut is also getting closer to Vincent, who is also up all night. Everyone else, including Violet, make sure to give him lots of love too. He can get lost in the shuffle sometimes, but they always care for him.

We finally take the time to get a picture of Vincent in his vampire form. I didn’t spend a ton of time really changing him up, but his clothes are all different, and he has two little front fangs instead of the “standard” fangs, and it’s fun.

Before they lose their fairy powers, I wanted to get the 3 new plants to plant in the upstairs arboretum, so Vincent is sent to Innisgreen to pick them up. It took a bit to find the right shop, but he got there.

Back at home, he spends time planting the three new plants. We now have an Aura Blossom bush, the one he’s planting now, a Moody Shrub, and a Lightning Root. I may have Victor focus on some more apothecary skills in the future.

It’s also the end of another semester at school. Vercua once again did amazing, all A’s. That girl is a beast in school, especially since she missed a class this semester. Victor had a rough class in machine learning, so it was not his best semester, but overall, he still has good grades.

Veruca signs up for three classes, no electives this semester. She is focused on her degree. It’s wild to realize she is almost through school entirely.

Victor also signs up for his final three classes. Like Veruca, he isn’t taking any electives this semester, choosing to focus on his degree.

We decided to send Violet to school. Her werewolf side is mostly under control, and she frequently can turn herself back after the initial fury is over, so it was time. I debated what to put her in, but decided psychology might be right for her, since she can join the distinguished degree at Foxbury. She has 3 classes this first semester, including Thinky Roots, which is just a fun play on Kinky Boots.

That feels like a good place to end this update. The older twins have one more semester and just need to get to level 3 of the fairy skills. Then they can switch out to the next lifestate. We are nearly halfway through this challenge. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will come back for the next update soon!

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Monster Mash update. I have been on a roll, and I am determined to finish up these challenges if AT ALL possible by November. The last time we were with this branch of the family, Veruca and Victor turned into fairies, and Violet and Vincent grew up into YAs. Let’s dig in!

When we are first back with the family, we start with Veruca sitting near the fairy house doing her homework. It’s a never-ending task some semesters. I was having some issues with the fairies’ fun, wasn’t sure why, but it did appear to be something with my game, as I experienced some other weirdness as well that a restart fixed.

Victor, probably influenced by his recent fairy turn, decides he likes gardening. Of course, you can like gardening, Victor!

Vincent is tired of being the only “normie” in his house nowadays, so off he heads to Forgotten Hallow to visit Caleb, whom the family met and does know some. They are fast friends, and Vincent makes his request to become a vampire.

Caleb deems the request doable and first enthralls Vincent, probably so he doesn’t struggle, and gives him a bite and drinks.

Caleb then offers his wrist to Vincent, who drinks deeply. I think maybe a bit too deeply for Caleb’s liking with that look. With that, Caleb gives a bit of info and sends Vincent off to transition at home.

Back at home, things continue on mostly as normal, but Meilani has gotten herself a little familiar. In all her looking for tomes, she found quite a few, and this little guy is a cutie named Skelly. Upstrais Victor is hard at work on his presentation board.

Vincent gets a call from Vlad about the fact that he’s turning into a vampire. It’s almost as though he doesn’t realize Vincent ASKED for this change to occur. I love that Vincent’s response is, Got it.

Violet, working on her work tasks, has decided, much like her sister, that she is also a perfectionist, which is totally fine with me.

Meilani is back out on a new case, and Skelly is right there with her. Skelly helps a lot since he makes her confident in the face of some rather scary specters.

She heads around the outside of the house first, clearing up hands that popped up around the yard, and a few vines.

She knocks on the door to see what might need help inside, once that is taken care of, and clears out a few other things outside. It might be a scary set of specters, but this is far from the most haunted place she’s been.

A quick delicioso spell and Meilani has what she needs to present to the final specter terrorizing this lot. Skelly was a huge help!

With that, another haunt is done and dusted. Meilani has made great progress and has enjoyed this work a lot. She is starting to feel like she might need to slow down soon, though.

Not too soon, though, because she still has plenty of life left to live with her Riley. I needed a picture of these two for the wall, since it had been a while, and they are just too cute.

Knowing it was going to occur and actually going through the change are two very different things for Vincent. The unusual hunger is almost too much to bear at first.

Victor doesn’t really pay any attention to what is happening around him. He is focused on finishing up this presentation, which he does. It looks great!

Veruca also doesn’t pay a lot of attention to her brother’s ongoing transformation. They all knew it was coming, and she focused on her presentation board as well. I really like it!

Meanwhile, Meilani is learning a new potion, and Violet is trying to get the most knowledge she can out of some of the werewolf books she bought. Everyone is just so busy.

Violet has done enough to complete the initiation into the werewolf journey and decides she is a lone wolf. She wants to be the biggest and best wolf she can be, and eventually maybe take on Greg, the werewolf who turned her.

There is now a robotics station in Veruca’s room, and she has a lot of work ahead of her. She needs many, many parts, computer circuits, and mechanisms for the servo she needs to build.

This family gets really energetic and super into fitness sometimes. Riley is always juggling his ball, even in his elder years, and he really hasn’t lost a thing. Violet, being a werewolf, needs to burn off some of her energy as well.

Peanut needed a walk, and I’m not sure he was thrilled with Victor being the one to take him, as Victor was quite fast with his fairy wings. Peanut struggled to keep up at times, but it was a really good jog.

Riely is super close with all of his kids, and he’s totally supportive of all of their lifestyles. Meilani struggles a bit more with this, but the kids always know they can go to their dad.

Violet is one of the first to try out some meditation in a long while. She figured the focus could be good practice and relief from her werewolf fury from time to time.

Another night and another haunt for Meilani. She has been called out quite a bit lately, and this time, the outside doesn’t look too haunted. There are a couple of things.

Meilani finds the specters and more hands in the backyard, but it still hardly seems like a major haunting yet. Meilani heads inside and doesn’t immediately see much inside either.

Until she hit the kitchen, that is. This haunt was clearly very focused on the kitchen area, and Meilani got to work clearing out all the spooky things that had popped up.

It took a while, but in the end, the kitchen was cleared and the job was completed. Meilani has really hit a good rhythm with these haunts now and would like to be able to pass it down to a kid.

The youngest set of twins spent some time with their parents eating dinner that night. The elder twins were likely in classes or maybe engaged in other school activities.

We did go ahead and “fairy” up the lower part of the stairwell/greenhouse area downstairs. It really only holds an apple tree and a plasma fruit tree, but I think it turned out cute.

Vincent came home from his barista job, and the change finally overtook him. He is officially a vampire and needed to get into the house quickly. We might have to find Vincent a new job, one he does at night.

Vincent, thanks to preplanning from his family, has some plasma fruit readily available, and everyone agrees they will help him breed frogs to keep him in plasma packs and start checking the fish trap a lot more frequently. Having a hangry vampire would not be fun.

Vincent decides that he likes deep thoughts after a conversation with his sister. Their relationship has gotten much better lately, now that Violet isn’t always scaring everyone over and over again.

That feels like a good place to wrap up this update. Vincent will now need to work on his vampiric powers until he is able to turn someone, and Violet is already at that point. So once Veruca and Victor are finished with being fairies, they can get any of the last three they need right at home. Thanks for joining me and reading, and I hope to see you for the next update!

Hello and welcome back to the Monster Mash challenge! We are back with this branch of the Cobb family, where the last time Vercua and Victor ended their time as merpeople in preparation for their new lifestate. They were also working on semester two in uni and joined the Bot Savants. Violet got used to being a werewolf, and a burglar visited. Let’s dig in!

Veruca is not with the rest of the family when we join them again. Instead, she is in Innisgreen. Vincent had given her a fairy seed, and now that she is no longer a mermaid, she is excited to try out being a fairy. So she plants it, and it poofs into a little plant.

Suddenly, instead of a plant, Mother Nature is there. Veruca takes a little time to chat with her first and then asks to become a fairy. She is given a few instructions on what to do after she is “blessed.”

Following the instructions, Veruca heads over to Moonrop Springs and bathes herself in its waters. She starts feeling a little different and seeing more motes in the air than usual.

Suddenly, she sprouts wings that take her flying around a bit, and plop her back in the water. Knowing the spring is ‘moody’, she bottles up some for the future.

Now that she is a fairy, she heads back to her friend and asks if there is another fairy seed she can take home. She has a twin she knows will want to turn as well, especially since he can be mischievous.

Back at home, Violet is more than willing to take a picture of her sister with her new wings. I think her wings suit her really well and are just lovely. Veruca really is a beautiful sim. Riley and Meilani made some really cute kids.

With a new lifestate comes an extension to the house. We now have a semi-greenhouse extension on the back of the house. It’s where our apple tree now lives, and we will have some other plants here too. The upper floor turned into a fairy paradise, as well as a place where they can study apothecary now. I may turn the bottom floor into something similar.

Veruca heads immediately into the little fairy house to boogie, and Victor is over there dancing to the beat before too long. Once her solo party is done, she hands over the fairy seed to him.

Victor heads to Innisgreen. He wonders briefly if he could just plant it right there at home, but since he has to travel to the spring anyway, he might as well do it all there. Just like his sister described, a little plant springs up.

Suddenly, there is a green woman standing before him, and Victor lets her know his desire to be a mischievous fairy. With the same instructions as she gave to his sister, she provides the blessing, and Victor heads to the spring.

Suddenly, Victor sprouts his own set of wings and is now a true fairy. He’s very excited to find out what mischief he can get into now that he has fairy powers.

Back at home, it’s time to celebrate!

It’s birthday time for Violet and Vincent! Happy birthday, you two! Violet adds High Maintenance to her traits, lucky me, another one. She also decides to take the Werewolf Initiate aspiration. Vincent adds Gloomy, which is kind of fitting for my plans for him.

Both kids graduated with honors and did superbly in school. I have not decided if they will attempt to attend university as well or not. Not sure what to do with them, but they are staying in the family.

This is slightly new; Vincent gets Overachiever upon growing up. I feel my Sims often get Self-assured, so this was a fun change, and we accept.

It also happened to be the end of the current semester for school, and once again, Vercua got straight A’s, although one A- this time. I was a little worried for Victor as there was a slight issue getting him to his final, but he did just as well as last semester, maybe even a bit better.

It’s hard to believe they only have 2 semesters of school left, and Vercua picks up an Unconventional Gardening class. I think being a fairy is going to lead to unconventional gardening all on its own.

Victor, on the other hand, opts for a fitness elective this semester. I think the biggest thing Victor will miss about being a merman is the ease of swimming. He doesn’t have an active trait, but he really likes fitness.

Life goes fairly quite around the house for this family. Vincent is reading up on vampires, Violet is getting into werewolf books, and Vercua and Victor are hard at work on their homework. This semester, Vercua has no term papers, but Victor does.

With everyone being young adults or above, Meilani harvests her apples and spends time making more potions. She is so close to being a master spellcaster and capable of passing it on to her kids.

Needing a picture of his new wings, Victor makes sure to get a good selfie to hang on the wall of his new life state. I do really enjoy this mini-challenge as it’s fun to see the family grow and change over the years.

Violet erupts in a fury one night, and it took a bit to realize it was because it was a full moon. I thought she had JUST changed, but the full moon is still very impactful.

Thankfully, even though they are no longer merpeople, Veruca and Victor have a perfect place to hide now. I’m wondering if I should get another fairy house so they can each have one.

Guidry is on hand to make sure to document this latest lifestate for the kids and the family. I love that he came up and started taking pictures of the fairy house.

Victor heads down to infuse Guidry with laughter. I’m not entirely sure it worked, but hey, he’s still new at this.

I’m not sure Guidry or Peanut really know what to make of this household now. There have been so many changes lately, both with the inhabitants and the house itself.

One thing that hasn’t changed? Peanut is a loved dog. They finally expanded the living room furniture a bit to allow for more seating, and that allowed Vincent to pamper Peanut on the couch.

Violet and her dad have a really good relationship, so when she was feeling a bit frustrated about her werewolfism and how everyone responded to her, she talked to him. Riley offered all his sympathies. People might not be afraid of mermen all the time, but there are still judgments.

Needing some fun, which I read as food at first, whoops, I discovered fairies can play in the sink. So Veruca and Victor play in their Jack and Jill bathroom sinks, having a grand time.

We will close out this update by discovering that Victor can also now nap on the keyboard. It’s super cute, and he was really tired, so this was a blessing. This gives us two lifestates, not completed, but at least achieved. They will stay in fairy form for a bit and try out the various fairy powers.

That feels like a lovely place to end, and I will be back soon with another update. I will likely be rushing out some updates and playing a lot if I want to try to complete all these challenges before the deadline in November. Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the update!

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 12

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome to the Monster Mash! The last time we saw this branch of the Cobb family Violet was dealing with becoming a new werewolf, and the olders twins worked their way through their first semester of university. Riley aged up into an elder, and Meilani was still working on her spellcasting. Let’s dig in!

We start where we often do with this famiy, with the teens doing homework of some kind. I apprently didn’t bother to put the walls up….whoops.

Meilani works on making a new cauldren of plentiful needs potion as the family occationally survives on these for a couple of days. Everyone gets out of sorts between the hauntings and classes and jobs.

Summer holiday came, and the teens took turns shooting off some fireworks from their deck. It’s wood, so you wouldn’t think this would be a great idea, but it was fine.

Violet has been working on her control over her werewolf powers. It’s still a work in progress, unfortunately, but she feels she’s getting better. I think the whole family is looking forward to her having a bit more control.

Violet is really a pretty sim, and while she’s taking Peanut out for a jog, I again consider what I’m going to do with her. I want to use her in another save at some point. She’s just too fun, and too pretty.

I realized we never got a teen picture of Vincent, so he goes out and takes some selfies so we can hang a new one on the wall.

Meilani is called out by another of Riley’s sisters to deal with their haunted lot. She lives just an island over, and Meilani is able to go help her out. I cannot remember if she succeeded or not though.

Then Meilani is back in the magic realm. She took some time to peruse the bookshelves for new tomes, and eventually just asked the mage to share knowledge. Meilani was lucky, or maybe it’s just because the sage was VERY pregnant.

The sage bestowed Meilani with the knowledge she was looking for, the rite of ascension. She can’t use it quite yet. She’s one level too low, but she’ll work hard so she can grant her kids these powers.

As soon as Meilani steps foot on her home lot, she is taken by aliens. It’s been quite the evening for Meilani. We also got news that the sage had her baby.

All the hard work finally paid off, and Violet has gotten to the point where she can mostly control when she wolfs out. There are still times, like a full moon, when it’s not truly in her control, but it’s better than it was.

Vincent has decided that he likes deception. I’m actually a bit surprised it was Veruca who did this, Victor is the mischievous one normally.

Veruca and Victor got a notice about the Bot Savants meeting and quickly went down to the university to see all the bots in action. Also, to see if they could join the club! They both get accepted and head home.

I really wish poor Peanut wasn’t afraid of the TV. The poor boy is always a little sad or upset because of the TV, but luckily, Violet is there to calm him down.

Violet remembered she needed to get a picture of her wolf-form for the wall, so she transformed, now that she can at will, and got a selfie to hang in the gallery.

Speaking of it’s grown and changed and adjusted a lot over this challenge already, and it will continue to as we get further. All these various lifestates being captured in pictures is a lot of fun.

Violet and her mom have had a bit of tension due to her werewolf scares, so she tries to appologize a bit. They chat together while Meilani works on some new knitted items for her job.

Veruca and Victor spend some time at the university commons so they can do their homework and work on the robotics station. I will be getting them one for home before too long, but neither can do anything other than tinker at the moment.

It’s Spooky Day, and everyone dresses up in costumes. Veruca goes into Innisgreen to chat with the locals a bit more about fairies, and back at home, everyone is handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters that stop by.

Meilani tests out giving a magically created grilled cheese sandwich to the specters, and turns out they like it! That means declicioso can be used to help Meilani with the difficult haunts!

Poor Veruca was sleeping in the ocean when a storm blew in, and when she went to get back to the house, lightning struck her. Luckily, she was ok, just singed.

Peanut decided to take a swim with Violet and Vercua, but decided he wanted to visit the bottom of the ocean. Vercua looks like she is trying to see him under all that water.

A lovely, relatively quiet night was interrupted when Violet once again wolfed out, and unfortunately for Veruca, who was actually up at this hour, Violet went after her to snarl and scare.

The next day was another trip back to Innisgreen, but this time for Vincent. Veruca and Victor cannot ask about how to become a fairy, which I thought might be due to their mermaid lifestate. Sure enough, Vincent was able to ask and get a seed.

That night was a family hangout night. Most had dinner together; the elder twins were at university, I believe. Following dinner, they watched the big sporting event. I actually think this was Harvestfest, come to think of it.

That night, a burglar visited the house. The first one for this family. He got inside past Guidry with no problems, but then froze. I guess all the little specters and Meilani astral projecting in her sleep got to him. Riley got up and took him on and scared him away.

A lot of help you lot were. What was the burglar going to do to you, Guidry or Meilani??? Instead, you leave it up to Riley? I mean, honestly, I probably would too, actually, that guy is FIT!

After all the excitement about the burglar, Meilani was struggling with her practice of herbalism. She put the herbs directly on the stove instead of into the pot.

Veruca and Victor decided it was time to leave mermaid life behind. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, and their dad is still around to be a mermaid for at least a while longer. Time to try something new.

He might have left being a mermaid behind, but Victor has not forgotten his love of the water and takes another swim, this time as a human. That is going to be where we leave off this chapter. Next time, we will see the twins’ newest lifestate. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will come back for the next update!

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 11

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back to another Monster Mash update. The last update, Veruca and Vincent started university and didn’t do much with their monster states. Meilani continued working on her magic and paranormal gigs, and at the end, Violet went through the transformation to a werewolf after being attacked by Greg. Let’s get back to it!

Violet didn’t mean to scare her family when she transformed, and they all fully recognized that. Luckily for Riley, Veruca, and Vincent, they are all perfectly happy to sleep in the water anytime they need to.

Violet always feels a bit bad for her mom and brother, who cannot escape when she wolfs out, but Peanut seems like a great listener for her wolfy problems.

They may now be a family that includes a werewolf, but Violet’s wolfiness doesn’t stop the paranormal from sometimes popping up unexpectedly. Veruca wasn’t a big fan of the sudden hands reaching through the deck when she was trying to study.

The boys find that trying to get any real work done happens more easily at the table. The open doors out to the deck allow for plenty of fresh air.

Violet captures a couple of new pictures of herself with her wolf scars. She has come to terms with being a werewolf, I mean, her family is already made up of mermaids and a spellcaster, and her siblings are always up to learning about new entities.

Back at university, the eldest twins visit the Bot Savants meetup, or at least they tried. They arrived at the location, but no one was there, so they worked with the robot stations until they gave up and went home.

Over the course of working on the robotics station, Veruca discovers she is very much a perfectionist.

Riley unlocks another mastery perk (he had secret spice from before) and now has Skillful Sleep! (Actually, I think I must have hit no by accident, as he does not have this mastery perk.)

Another night and another gig for Meilani. This time, most of the activity was right by the front door. It was a relatively easy job overall.

While attempting to play videos with her twin, Violet started feeling the rage in her growing again. Vincent and her were already become strained due to her newfound wolfiness since her wolf appeared to like to torment him.

Vincent does love his twin, though, and she even helps him realize he likes Artsy Sims.

Dinner did not find any relief for Violet, even scarfing down some lovely raw steak. She could feel the transformation almost upon her and went for a walk.

Sure enough, she transformed and ran the night, howling and, unfortunately, terrorizing her brother again. When she transformed back in the morning, she knew she was going to have to do some damage control.

She tried to share what the experience was like, and that she wasn’t doing anything to scare him on purpose, at least the part she had control of. Vincent didn’t really want to hear it and offered no sympathy.

Temperance visited again; it’s been a bit since she’s been around, and she is now pregnant. That’s right, we have a pregnant Temperance, and she sat down to perform some sort of ritual.

Life, luckily, started to get into a bit more of a normal rhythm again, and Violet and Vincent are ready to be done with high school. I am also ready for them to be done with high school. I may just let them graduate early.

Meilani gets herself a mastery perk of Skillful Sleep as well. She, however, actually has this mastery perk…. no double appirations for us.

Poor Riley, he is now an elder, and we didn’t get him a cake. His cake is the bowl sitting on the counter. I didn’t realize we didn’t have a cake until it was too late. I’m so sorry, Riley!!!

He didn’t seem too upset, and to celebrate, the kids all played games. Vicent was determined to beat Veruca by standing in FRONT of her to block the TV.

That night, Riley chatted with Guidry a bit about being a ghost and just what this afterlife stuff was all about. Meilani was studying a new tome she had managed to pick up.

Riley managed to get another mastery perk out of the deal and now can have an Active Aura, which makes a lot of sense with how active he has always been.

Veruca and Victor took a trip down to Innisgreen. Veruca is never not in her swimwear anymore, I swear. She chatted with a couple of people and danced to the beat coming out of the fairy house.

Victor, on the other hand, visited the nightclub and hung out there. He met Oberon while there and a few other fairies as well. Since Meilani is having trouble finding a tome, maybe they could become fairies instead?

While they were hanging out in Innisgreen, both Veruca and Victor became Mystical. This works out fine for me and is kind of a fun “step” in their progress.

The twins also finished their first term at university. Veruca, expectedly, got all A’s (A+’s to be exact). Victor also did well, getting 2 A’s and a B. That finishes up their initial semester.

Both kids pick classes for next semester. I had to laugh when Veruca had this option for her elective course. This may not be a reference everyone knows really well, but there is a book called “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Phillip K. Dick. It’s the basis for the movie Blade Runner, as well as being an inspiration for a lot of science fiction over the years.

While this update is a little shorter than some, it also feels like a really good place to end the update. I will hopefully be back with more, both of this branch and the other branches of the Cobb family, soon. Thank you for reading, and I hope you will join me for the next update!

To Sweet Lips | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back! I know it’s been about a month since I posted anything, but more updates are on the way! The last time we were with the Monster Mash branch of the Cobb family, Meilani worked on her haunted house gigs and took the older twins to the magic realm, where the one sage died before much else could happen. The older twins also graduated from high school and applied to university. Let’s dig in!

When we join back up with the family, Meilani and the twins are back in the magic realm again. Neither Veruca nor Victor has much luck with the sages this time around, either, but at least neither died. Meilani searched for tomes, but didn’t find much of interest.

Back at home, Vincent came back with an A in school. He’s now at the top of the class like his siblings.

While I did not capture the actual interaction, apparently Victor really got Vincent laughing with a joke, and now he likes jokes.

I can’t tell if it’s quite late or really early, but Meilani, Violet, and Riley are all up and fulfilling needs.

Victor has decided he is now very cheerful. He’s cheerfully evil, you might say. I think this fits Victor very well.

Have I mentioned how much I love Guidry yet this post? No, well, I do! He comes out haunting and fixes the broken plumbing. Now, Meilani usually does that with magic, but it’s still so nice.

Victor was accepted into the university and got a scholarship for living in Sulani. He gets accepted into the distinguished Computer Science degree program at Foxbury. Semester one will have three classes.

Veruca also got accepted into a distinguished program at Foxbury, but her’s is Physics. I decided to give them different degrees, but both grant a benefit to robotics. She also got the Sulani Resident scholarship. I think there should be one for surviving a haunted house, but alas. She is also signed up for three classes.

University is not an easy ride, and it’s a quick semester in Sims, so both of them sit down to get a start on the first day’s work.

Of course, Violet was going to come up and hang out with them and distract them from getting anything done quickly.

Every once in a while, this house will be plagued by angry specters. They don’t often cause many problems, but they do still keep everyone pretty scared. Meilani does her best to get them on their way.

Nothing like a homework party during the evenings. Be that doing your university homework with your twin, or doing your high school homework with a ghost. I did, even though Vincent is wearing his work uniform, have the twins quit their jobs to focus on school.

Victor took some time away from his homework to chat with the fish. He needed a bit of fun, and talking to the fish we have in the mermaid bathroom was just what he needed. I still love this room. I’m excited to decorate the next one.

Peanut is a pretty loved dog. He gets scared by the TV, unfortunately, so the family frequently needs to calm him, but all of them love to play with him.

She isn’t the heiress here, but I do think I’m going to save Violet to use in another save. I think she’s really pretty. She started writing a blog and decided she likes writing!

Riley is, in fact, still here and doing well. Our focus is off him a lot more, and he’s mostly left to do his own thing, but he brought home a raise!

The older twins got their own computers, and Victor started working on his term paper. Writing them isn’t exactly fun, but getting them done early makes the rest of the semester easier.

Poor Vincent gets sick, and he ends up taking some medicine to counter it. This would be one of those times where Peanut is actually sad, poor boy.

I have not been focusing on Meilani’s knitting as much as I should be, but she is still knitting and takes time to give Peanut a bath. I don’t think ghost pets NEED baths, but that’s ok.

It’s a very dark evening, in a very dark part of the world, where Meilani is called to come help with a very haunted home.

Meilani finds that magical intervention can make the job go much quicker when she can use it. It’s a tough haunt, and there are things all over the place to clean up.

Thankfully, her efforts are enough, and her client is satisfied with her work. Every once in a while, this job still causes Meilani issues.

I found this so sweet. Veruca and Violet became close, and that was mostly all their own doing. I struggle, occasionally, to keep up with this family.

Violet convinced Veruca and Victor to go explore Moonwood Mill, having read about the town in school. She was curious if they might run into any werewolves. They head to the bar and hang out a bit.

Violet saw something tucked back into the trees along the river, and, heading over, found a run-down house. No one was around, so Violet poked around a bit while Veruca and Victor hung out, not paying much attention.

That was until Violet spotted a large dog with glowing red eyes running around. She tried to “spy” on it a bit and saw that it indeed appeared to be a werewolf.

Her siblings went back across the river and likely thought she was following right behind, but the werewolf didn’t appear to be interested in her, at least for the moment.

That abruptly changed when this werewolf finished his meal and apparently “noticed” the trespasser. Violet put up as much of a fight as she could.

He was too tough for her, and Violet fell to the ground. She worried that he might continue the attack until she was gone from this world, but he just snarled and walked away.

Violet woke up covered in bruises and scratches. She was really not a pretty sight. The werewolf was nowhere to be seen. She carefully got up to start heading home.

Before she got too far, a sickness overtook her, and she felt her mouth bubbling and foaming. Violet was pretty sure she had contracted werebies.

She got home and went straight to the bathroom. Peanut came in to check on her and watched as she continued to foam at the mouth, but then it subsided. Violet wasn’t really sure what to think, but just went to bed.

That night, Riley’s sister begged Meilani to come help her. Her house was suddenly filled with specters and spooky things. Little did Meilani know she was going to come home to something unusual herself.

The job went off without a hitch, and Meilani headed home to bed, where the rest of her family was already asleep, even Violet.

The next morning, Meilani was busy making up a potion of plentiful needs. I have a feeling this family may soon need this potion frequently.

Violet was back to foaming at the mouth, and so she went and took a swim until she felt better while her brother was distracted by a lovely dolphin. Once the foaming subsided again, she was able to make her way to school.

Oblivious to what really happened to Violet, Veruca and Vincent spent the day at the university. They learned about the bot svants club and plan to try and join.

The library is next to a lovely waterway that Veruca took full advantage of when she found herself getting hot and scaly. It was the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and finish up homework before heading home, and it’s probably good they did.

Veruca was shocked and a bit surprised to see her sister come in from a swim, glowing red and angry.

Violet ran out of the house and experienced her first werewolf transition. She did her best to stay away from the family, as not to scare them too much, but there was only so much she felt in control of.

The next morning, she was feeling much more herself, but ravenous for meat, which she found easily. Maybe being a werewolf wouldn’t be so bad?

She did notice her text messages from the night before, and figured there would be some explaining to do eventually. Why did she think it was smart to text with wild abandon?

That is going to wrap up our current chapter, and I am so excited to have 3 lifestates within the family. The plan is to have everyone be in a different state, and then the twins will learn those lifestates from them at the appropriate times. I hope you enjoyed the update and that you will join me for the next one! Thank you for reading!!!!

SimNaNo Update #10

Welcome back to the next Sweet Lips update! This also happens to be our final SimNaNo post, and I hope you enjoyed the updates this month! The last time we were with Dawn, she was promoted to level 9 in her career, and did lots of kissing. Let’s get into this next week!

Week 5

When we first meet up with Dawn, she is out at the flea market, and we decide to try to flirt with Agnes, just for fun. It obviously went poorly, but we had to try, right? She’s a Garden Shop Owner, and if we had managed it, it would have been good for points.

Once we are through with Agnes, Dawn introduces herself to this guy. Using the enchanting introduction always gives a good boost to the romance. Nothing more happens yet, though.

Back at home, Dawn decides to call over Robin Banks. She is our burglar, of course, and Dawn met her after confronting her last time. They flirt for a bit and get to know each other a bit more.

Robin gives us 30 points for being the NPC burglar and being our first “tough gal” in the criminal career.

After getting the kiss, Dawn starts working on her painting to help get her closer to the requirements for her final promotion. Robin stays and chats for a bit.

Markus stops by, and Dawn had gotten to know him really well earlier, but hadn’t gotten a kiss yet. She rectifies this now and gets 5 points since Markus is unemployed.

Dawn finally buys an easel so she can work more on her painting. She needs one more level for her last promotion, and with skillful sleep, she can use this to level up that skill, possibly.

Delfina stops by, and Dawn is able to flirt with her. She quickly gets herself a new kiss. Delfina is unemployed, so she only brings in 5 points again.

Dawn gets back to some painting, and this painting is actually really fun. I’m not sure I’ve seen it before, and it’s kind of goofy, but I like it.

After finishing up painting for the day, Dawn heads to Chestnut Ridge to visit the bar there. While she is there, she introduces herself to two people. The first isn’t interested in Dawn that way, but the second, Ocean, is. She is a “bar regular” as a career, which isn’t really a thing, but since she was “at work,” we couldn’t go any further.

Instead, Dawn heads into Strangerville and talks to Romeo, who is an NPC Conspiracy Theorist at the library.

Romeo is Dawn’s next kiss, and even though he’s unemployed, he still gives us 20 points for being our first conspiracy theorist.

GeekCon is in town, so Dawn decides to attend. She does have a bit of a connection with one of the celebrities, and spends some time watching and flirting with the living statue, which didn’t really do much.

While at GeekCon, Dawn gets notified that she has reached the top of her career. She is now at level 10 and is a Persona Re-imager. Congrats, Dawn!

Dawn now has the archaeology scholar aspiration, so she heads back to the jungle. This time, she actually had the option to go through most of the openings.

At the baths, she meets a few people and ends up getting to know Knox Greenburg, who could be a good kiss to get later. His wife is here, though, so we don’t want to try it right now.

At the temple, Dawn manages to get all the way through to the final treasure chamber, and while she triggers a couple of traps, she survives, although she is cursed.

While in the temple, Dawn met Zygo, a temple guardian, and while she is able to do a lot of interactions with him, he is not someone she can romance in any way. Sadly, no skeleton kisses for us this trip.

After getting through the temple, we never located any bone dust to cure our curses. Instead, Dawn stopped and offered a donation to the statue in the square back at the market. She is relieved she can go home without any curses.

When Dawn gets home, Jesminder visits her house, and they spend some time chatting and flirting together.

Jesminder brings a new 15 points as she is a Head Mixologist (not the NPC kind) in the Mixologist branch of the culinary career. With that kiss achieved, it’s time for Dawn to recover from her trip.

While sleeping, Dawn’s astral projection spends some time doing yoga on the new yoga mat that she purchased. She is suddenly able to properly practice herbalism by using the correct burner.

Dawn invited Clement Frost over and got his kiss without too much effort. She has known Clement for a while, and he brings in 20 points for being an NPC. I kind of love that he works for ‘The Far North.”

Dawn heads to the nightclub later in the evening and flirts with a few people. Freya, who is unemployed, stayed around and gave Dawn a kiss. Freya doesn’t offer anything new, so she is only 5 points.

There is another family day, so Dawn heads down, and there is a new inheritance lawyer. Sadly, he also is not interested in Dawn in that way, so no kiss from him either.

While at the festival, though, Dawn does get a kiss from Jerrod Cross. He is an Aquatic Ecologist, which means he is worth 15 points.

The romance festival is also back in town, and Dawn heads down. The guru is still the same woman who isn’t interested in Dawn, but this man is shown to be a Strangerville Scientist.

Dawn gets a kiss from James. The StrangerVille Scientist is an NPC, which means he brings us another 20 points. Also, the lab being redacted is kind of funny.

We will wrap up this week, seeing Dawn once again practicing yoga through her skillful sleep. It was another successful week for Dawn, and we have gotten quite a few more of the NPCs kissed. Next week, Dawn will be an adult, and we will be through the first section of this challenge. I hope you will join us next time, and thanks for reading!
