Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 10

To Sweet Lips | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome back! I know it’s been about a month since I posted anything, but more updates are on the way! The last time we were with the Monster Mash branch of the Cobb family, Meilani worked on her haunted house gigs and took the older twins to the magic realm, where the one sage died before much else could happen. The older twins also graduated from high school and applied to university. Let’s dig in!

When we join back up with the family, Meilani and the twins are back in the magic realm again. Neither Veruca nor Victor has much luck with the sages this time around, either, but at least neither died. Meilani searched for tomes, but didn’t find much of interest.

Back at home, Vincent came back with an A in school. He’s now at the top of the class like his siblings.

While I did not capture the actual interaction, apparently Victor really got Vincent laughing with a joke, and now he likes jokes.

I can’t tell if it’s quite late or really early, but Meilani, Violet, and Riley are all up and fulfilling needs.

Victor has decided he is now very cheerful. He’s cheerfully evil, you might say. I think this fits Victor very well.

Have I mentioned how much I love Guidry yet this post? No, well, I do! He comes out haunting and fixes the broken plumbing. Now, Meilani usually does that with magic, but it’s still so nice.

Victor was accepted into the university and got a scholarship for living in Sulani. He gets accepted into the distinguished Computer Science degree program at Foxbury. Semester one will have three classes.

Veruca also got accepted into a distinguished program at Foxbury, but her’s is Physics. I decided to give them different degrees, but both grant a benefit to robotics. She also got the Sulani Resident scholarship. I think there should be one for surviving a haunted house, but alas. She is also signed up for three classes.

University is not an easy ride, and it’s a quick semester in Sims, so both of them sit down to get a start on the first day’s work.

Of course, Violet was going to come up and hang out with them and distract them from getting anything done quickly.

Every once in a while, this house will be plagued by angry specters. They don’t often cause many problems, but they do still keep everyone pretty scared. Meilani does her best to get them on their way.

Nothing like a homework party during the evenings. Be that doing your university homework with your twin, or doing your high school homework with a ghost. I did, even though Vincent is wearing his work uniform, have the twins quit their jobs to focus on school.

Victor took some time away from his homework to chat with the fish. He needed a bit of fun, and talking to the fish we have in the mermaid bathroom was just what he needed. I still love this room. I’m excited to decorate the next one.

Peanut is a pretty loved dog. He gets scared by the TV, unfortunately, so the family frequently needs to calm him, but all of them love to play with him.

She isn’t the heiress here, but I do think I’m going to save Violet to use in another save. I think she’s really pretty. She started writing a blog and decided she likes writing!

Riley is, in fact, still here and doing well. Our focus is off him a lot more, and he’s mostly left to do his own thing, but he brought home a raise!

The older twins got their own computers, and Victor started working on his term paper. Writing them isn’t exactly fun, but getting them done early makes the rest of the semester easier.

Poor Vincent gets sick, and he ends up taking some medicine to counter it. This would be one of those times where Peanut is actually sad, poor boy.

I have not been focusing on Meilani’s knitting as much as I should be, but she is still knitting and takes time to give Peanut a bath. I don’t think ghost pets NEED baths, but that’s ok.

It’s a very dark evening, in a very dark part of the world, where Meilani is called to come help with a very haunted home.

Meilani finds that magical intervention can make the job go much quicker when she can use it. It’s a tough haunt, and there are things all over the place to clean up.

Thankfully, her efforts are enough, and her client is satisfied with her work. Every once in a while, this job still causes Meilani issues.

I found this so sweet. Veruca and Violet became close, and that was mostly all their own doing. I struggle, occasionally, to keep up with this family.

Violet convinced Veruca and Victor to go explore Moonwood Mill, having read about the town in school. She was curious if they might run into any werewolves. They head to the bar and hang out a bit.

Violet saw something tucked back into the trees along the river, and, heading over, found a run-down house. No one was around, so Violet poked around a bit while Veruca and Victor hung out, not paying much attention.

That was until Violet spotted a large dog with glowing red eyes running around. She tried to “spy” on it a bit and saw that it indeed appeared to be a werewolf.

Her siblings went back across the river and likely thought she was following right behind, but the werewolf didn’t appear to be interested in her, at least for the moment.

That abruptly changed when this werewolf finished his meal and apparently “noticed” the trespasser. Violet put up as much of a fight as she could.

He was too tough for her, and Violet fell to the ground. She worried that he might continue the attack until she was gone from this world, but he just snarled and walked away.

Violet woke up covered in bruises and scratches. She was really not a pretty sight. The werewolf was nowhere to be seen. She carefully got up to start heading home.

Before she got too far, a sickness overtook her, and she felt her mouth bubbling and foaming. Violet was pretty sure she had contracted werebies.

She got home and went straight to the bathroom. Peanut came in to check on her and watched as she continued to foam at the mouth, but then it subsided. Violet wasn’t really sure what to think, but just went to bed.

That night, Riley’s sister begged Meilani to come help her. Her house was suddenly filled with specters and spooky things. Little did Meilani know she was going to come home to something unusual herself.

The job went off without a hitch, and Meilani headed home to bed, where the rest of her family was already asleep, even Violet.

The next morning, Meilani was busy making up a potion of plentiful needs. I have a feeling this family may soon need this potion frequently.

Violet was back to foaming at the mouth, and so she went and took a swim until she felt better while her brother was distracted by a lovely dolphin. Once the foaming subsided again, she was able to make her way to school.

Oblivious to what really happened to Violet, Veruca and Vincent spent the day at the university. They learned about the bot svants club and plan to try and join.

The library is next to a lovely waterway that Veruca took full advantage of when she found herself getting hot and scaly. It was the perfect place to grab a bite to eat and finish up homework before heading home, and it’s probably good they did.

Veruca was shocked and a bit surprised to see her sister come in from a swim, glowing red and angry.

Violet ran out of the house and experienced her first werewolf transition. She did her best to stay away from the family, as not to scare them too much, but there was only so much she felt in control of.

The next morning, she was feeling much more herself, but ravenous for meat, which she found easily. Maybe being a werewolf wouldn’t be so bad?

She did notice her text messages from the night before, and figured there would be some explaining to do eventually. Why did she think it was smart to text with wild abandon?

That is going to wrap up our current chapter, and I am so excited to have 3 lifestates within the family. The plan is to have everyone be in a different state, and then the twins will learn those lifestates from them at the appropriate times. I hope you enjoyed the update and that you will join me for the next one! Thank you for reading!!!!

SimNaNo Update #10

Welcome back to the next Sweet Lips update! This also happens to be our final SimNaNo post, and I hope you enjoyed the updates this month! The last time we were with Dawn, she was promoted to level 9 in her career, and did lots of kissing. Let’s get into this next week!

Week 5

When we first meet up with Dawn, she is out at the flea market, and we decide to try to flirt with Agnes, just for fun. It obviously went poorly, but we had to try, right? She’s a Garden Shop Owner, and if we had managed it, it would have been good for points.

Once we are through with Agnes, Dawn introduces herself to this guy. Using the enchanting introduction always gives a good boost to the romance. Nothing more happens yet, though.

Back at home, Dawn decides to call over Robin Banks. She is our burglar, of course, and Dawn met her after confronting her last time. They flirt for a bit and get to know each other a bit more.

Robin gives us 30 points for being the NPC burglar and being our first “tough gal” in the criminal career.

After getting the kiss, Dawn starts working on her painting to help get her closer to the requirements for her final promotion. Robin stays and chats for a bit.

Markus stops by, and Dawn had gotten to know him really well earlier, but hadn’t gotten a kiss yet. She rectifies this now and gets 5 points since Markus is unemployed.

Dawn finally buys an easel so she can work more on her painting. She needs one more level for her last promotion, and with skillful sleep, she can use this to level up that skill, possibly.

Delfina stops by, and Dawn is able to flirt with her. She quickly gets herself a new kiss. Delfina is unemployed, so she only brings in 5 points again.

Dawn gets back to some painting, and this painting is actually really fun. I’m not sure I’ve seen it before, and it’s kind of goofy, but I like it.

After finishing up painting for the day, Dawn heads to Chestnut Ridge to visit the bar there. While she is there, she introduces herself to two people. The first isn’t interested in Dawn that way, but the second, Ocean, is. She is a “bar regular” as a career, which isn’t really a thing, but since she was “at work,” we couldn’t go any further.

Instead, Dawn heads into Strangerville and talks to Romeo, who is an NPC Conspiracy Theorist at the library.

Romeo is Dawn’s next kiss, and even though he’s unemployed, he still gives us 20 points for being our first conspiracy theorist.

GeekCon is in town, so Dawn decides to attend. She does have a bit of a connection with one of the celebrities, and spends some time watching and flirting with the living statue, which didn’t really do much.

While at GeekCon, Dawn gets notified that she has reached the top of her career. She is now at level 10 and is a Persona Re-imager. Congrats, Dawn!

Dawn now has the archaeology scholar aspiration, so she heads back to the jungle. This time, she actually had the option to go through most of the openings.

At the baths, she meets a few people and ends up getting to know Knox Greenburg, who could be a good kiss to get later. His wife is here, though, so we don’t want to try it right now.

At the temple, Dawn manages to get all the way through to the final treasure chamber, and while she triggers a couple of traps, she survives, although she is cursed.

While in the temple, Dawn met Zygo, a temple guardian, and while she is able to do a lot of interactions with him, he is not someone she can romance in any way. Sadly, no skeleton kisses for us this trip.

After getting through the temple, we never located any bone dust to cure our curses. Instead, Dawn stopped and offered a donation to the statue in the square back at the market. She is relieved she can go home without any curses.

When Dawn gets home, Jesminder visits her house, and they spend some time chatting and flirting together.

Jesminder brings a new 15 points as she is a Head Mixologist (not the NPC kind) in the Mixologist branch of the culinary career. With that kiss achieved, it’s time for Dawn to recover from her trip.

While sleeping, Dawn’s astral projection spends some time doing yoga on the new yoga mat that she purchased. She is suddenly able to properly practice herbalism by using the correct burner.

Dawn invited Clement Frost over and got his kiss without too much effort. She has known Clement for a while, and he brings in 20 points for being an NPC. I kind of love that he works for ‘The Far North.”

Dawn heads to the nightclub later in the evening and flirts with a few people. Freya, who is unemployed, stayed around and gave Dawn a kiss. Freya doesn’t offer anything new, so she is only 5 points.

There is another family day, so Dawn heads down, and there is a new inheritance lawyer. Sadly, he also is not interested in Dawn in that way, so no kiss from him either.

While at the festival, though, Dawn does get a kiss from Jerrod Cross. He is an Aquatic Ecologist, which means he is worth 15 points.

The romance festival is also back in town, and Dawn heads down. The guru is still the same woman who isn’t interested in Dawn, but this man is shown to be a Strangerville Scientist.

Dawn gets a kiss from James. The StrangerVille Scientist is an NPC, which means he brings us another 20 points. Also, the lab being redacted is kind of funny.

We will wrap up this week, seeing Dawn once again practicing yoga through her skillful sleep. It was another successful week for Dawn, and we have gotten quite a few more of the NPCs kissed. Next week, Dawn will be an adult, and we will be through the first section of this challenge. I hope you will join us next time, and thanks for reading!

SimNaNo Update #9

Welcome back to the Sweet Lips challenge, and week 4. That means that Dawn is going to be growing up into a full adult before too long. The last time we saw Dawn, she had gone around trying to find a bunch of the NPCs, and even managed to kiss the Weeping Mother, Alice. She also completed her aspiration, got multiple promotions, and got the No Touching fame quirk. Let’s get into this week!

Week 4

This week starts off with a visit from our friend, Lien. She was one of the first Sims we met, and the first that wouldn’t give us a quick kiss. She is also a co-worker.

To celebrate the visit of our friend, Dawn ordered a pizza, and just our luck, the pizza guy was a young adult! Dawn quickly flirts with him, can’t have the pizza get cold.

Doesn’t take long before Jaron is ready for a kiss, after confirming he is indeed the pizza delivery guy at Trevor’s Honest Pizza. That gives us 20 new points.

Dawn also needs to get some work done. She sits down to find some more inspirations to add to her board, and then she actually finishes the muse board.

On top of all that, Dawn gets the mastery perk of skillful sleep. That is super helpful and useful, although that makes me think we need to purchase Dawn an easel.

Dawn heads out to the park to see if she can find some of the people she has met but hasn’t attempted to kiss yet. There she sees Bernice, who fits that bill.

I will admit, I was a bit surprised Bernice was into it. She is a Corporate Raider in the Investor career and gives us 15 points. I did attempt to have Dawn introduce herself to Dustin there, but she wasn’t successful.

Dawn has gotten to level 9 in her career now. I went back and looked, and she did not “jump” in her career. Each of these levels has been all hers, but she did start at level 3.

To celebrate, Dawn went and kissed Cleatus Harris, who is now the vendor for the stall near our home. Due to that, he’s only worth 5 points, but that’s ok. He was someone else she met early on.

Dawn then decided to head to the park in Brindleton Bay and meet up with some new sims. There she saw Zelma, who is one of the Order of Lenore, so Dawn chatted her up.

Zelma is actually unemployed, and since we kissed one Order of Lenore member already, she is only worth 5 points, but it’s still good to get as many done as we can.

Dawn decided to head to the spa and took a yoga course. Guess who the yoga instructor is? That’s Nyon Specter, aka Nervous Subject.

She couldn’t romance Nyon while he was working, so she called him over later and they had some kisses in the rain. Nyon is a yoga instructor, confirmed, and that means he’s worth 20 points.

Another sim that Dawn had met before walked by, and this time, we were able to get Olive to give us a kiss. She’s a Mortuary Assistant and gives us 15 points as our first one of those.

I knew we still needed a mermaid, and I knew Nalani was living alone, so we looked her up and stopped by her house and chatted with her for a while until Dawn knew she was a mermaid. Then she left for work.

After work, though, Dawn invited Nalani over and got that kiss. Nalani is unemployed currently, but since she is a mermaid, that gives us 25 points. That also marked off the last of the “major” supernatural sims we currently have.

Dawn starts using her spectral body to do some skilling in the night now, but she is interrupted when the burglar alarm goes off. Sadly, the burglar ran past the cop and wasn’t caught.

The next day, Dawn decides to stay semi-close to home and greets some new people, including the infamous Don Lothario.

Sadly, Don is currently unemployed, in this save (thanks, neighborhood stories or MCCC), so he is only worth 5 points, but is it really a kissing challenge if you don’t kiss Don?

She then saw Bjorn and decided, why not? What is another kiss today? So she introduced herself.

Bjorn is our first sim in the Secret Agent career, and he is an Agent Handler. That means he is worth 15 points. We are really done with the big points at this time, since all the supernaturals, minus a few minor ones, are completed.

Dawn’s astral projection decided to learn herbalism, and I think she needs some EXTRA help. Dawn, you don’t stir the hot burner and put the pot to the side. Although it did seem to be stirring the mixture, so maybe Dawn is more magical than I gave her credit for.

Dawn finds her fame rising thanks to her blogs and videos. She’s doing really well overall and now has earned a second fame star! Maybe she’ll be able to kiss a celebrity soon.

We decided to take a break from kissing and work on the Weeping Mother’s quest. It took a bit to find him, but we were able to talk to Freddie.

Dawn saw the Inheritance Lawyer and tried her luck. Sadly, Fatima is not interested in Dawn in that way. That does give us hope we might get a new lawyer at some point. Then we can try and get a kiss from them!

Dawn then searches out Ann, another of the Weeping Mother’s children, but then she starts freezing and heads home. We have made really good progress so far!

The week closes out with Dawn back to astral projecting, and you can see the final muse board. I don’t think I’ve ever finished one before, and it’s fun to change it once in a while. That ends week four, and we got a lot of really good kisses in this week! She’s going to be an adult before too long, and we’ll be through the first phase of this challenge. I hope to see you next time we are with Dawn, and thanks for reading!

SimNaNo Update #8

Welcome back to another Easter Egg update! The last time we were with Tara, she finally got pregnant by Don Lothario with her one and only child. She also managed to upgrade the weather machine and successfully set the season back to spring. She also made progress on a few of the easter egg goals. Let’s get into this next week!

Week 5

We join Tara in the middle of a new yard sale. This sale goes very well, and she is left with almost nothing on the table. This is great news for her, as we need to expand the house desperately.

This is Tara’s newly built house. It has a nursery, office, bedroom, 2 bathrooms (although one is not completed), and a big room for the kitchen/living room/dining room, like before. It’s still rather small, but it should be perfect for the rest of this challenge. In building the house, we used a couple of other easter egg items (although not ones for points). I’m relatively certain this ‘Let This Door Be the Door’ is a reference to the ‘Let My Love Open the Door’ song, based on the lines at the bottom of the description. This light is also a reference to a song, I’m relatively certain. Karma Kamelon is a song from Culture Club, and Calla Chameleon just seems too likely.

This is the current state of the nursery. I wanted to make sure she had all that she would need for the new baby, and we have a lot of easter egg items in here, including the old posters from early on. We also have a House on a Hill window, which I’m relatively certain is an easter egg to either House on the Hill or at least a horror movie. Dage Decal is obviously a reference to the Doge dog meme, and the I Can’t Believe It’s Not Silk curtains are clearly a reference to I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. Finally, we also put in the Yonder Window, which is a reference to Romeo and Juliet.

Now that Tara has a larger house, and we will show more of the interior later, Tara needs to go collecting again. She is mostly out of money and has bills coming up.

With collections completed, it’s time for more yard sales. Before long, Tara has a couple thousand in the bank again and can make additional renovations to the house.

Tara started to upgrade the computer in her new small office. It’s very tiny, mostly just room for the desk, but it’s nice to have a dedicated spot for the computer, instead of on the dining table.

Tara got an opportunity for fame and money, and while I often might not have Tara take this, we could really use the money. Tara is now, unfortunately, tense due to being typecast, and she also has some fame. She came home from work with a work rival, which seems fitting.

Tara takes some family leave for the rest of the week so she can prepare for and care for the baby when it comes. That includes being able to take care of other things, like the bees.

Don comes over and “meets” his little one. I think he’s ready to meet the new baby, and Tara is quite ready to be done being pregnant. Luckily, she only needs this one; no additional pregnancies required for Tara.

Tara tried a novice tournament and came in second. While that isn’t winning, it’s at least a decent start since the computer isn’t fully upgraded, and Tara isn’t even that skilled at video games yet.

Tara then heads to the rather empty-looking corner of the living room to do some painting. She has not gotten a single easter egg painting yet. Our luck has not been good.

Tara decided she likes video games while sitting down in her newly set-up living room to play games on her new console. She saved up to buy the most expensive, which I’m hoping will help her win tournaments. Also, it’s not really a true easter egg, but this rug is called the ‘No Colt Feet’ rug, and I thought that was a funny pun.

Tara is officially in labor! The baby is on the way, and we are very excited to meet him or her. This gives us a good view of our new couch, which, while not an OFFICIAL easter egg, is a reference. The Loung-E Boy is obviously a play on Lazy-E Boy furniture.

Don comes to the hospital but leaves fairly quickly once Tara is back. I can’t really be surprised. It’s rare for non-playables to stick around the hospital. Tara gets into the machine, which luckily handles her needs, which were pretty bad by the time she got there.

Welcome, baby Robin, to the challenge. Robin is named after the Robin Eggs candies that always show up around Easter time. He gives us 10 points for being born to Don Lothario, an easter egg sim.

THEN, also welcome Cadbury (whom I’ll call Cad) to the challenge. Yep, that’s right; Don gave us TWINS. So Cabury brings in a net -65 points. He brings in 10 for being born to an easter egg sim, but -75 for causing us to go over our child limit. Cadbury is named after the Cadbury Eggs that are often around at Easter.

Luckily, Tara has more family leave and enough money to actually EXPAND the nursery, since now we need room for TWO babies. Tara heads out to tend the few plants she has and bond with the bees.

Tara, while gardening, I believe, gets the Mastery Perk, Spacebender. That means she can teleport, which might come in VERY handy while chasing after twins!

Tara is a very attentive mother with the boys. She almost always jumps right to tending to them when they cry and usually gives them what they need, but as with twins, they are a handful.

Due to losing so many points with Cad, any additiona money Tara can earn will be useful. Tara tries to paint an easter egg painting and fails to, so that will be sold on Plopsy. Then it’s back out for a very lemon-heavy yard sale.

I was so glad when it was infant time, not that infants are necessarily easier. At least now Tara can work on teaching them things.

Here are our boys after their makeovers. Robin is in blue and is a calm infant. Cad is in red, and he is an Intense infant. YAY……Cad, you are not doing yourself any favors with these roles. They are, clearly, identical.

We quickly get a quirk for each. Robin frequently sneezes, and Cad is going to be a picky eater. I swear it’s like the game WANTS me to not like Cad.

Here is Cad being picky and not wanting his bottle. You are hungry, for the love of the watcher, please just eat so Tara can go to bed!

Actually, I think Tara’s next task was to do tummy time with Robin. I am determined to at least get them some of their milestones, but I traditionally struggle with twins.

Oh, goodie, more “fun” quirks. Both boys, it turns out, are early risers! Lucky me, I mean Tara…..

However, some REALLY good news has graced us. I must have missed it during the twins’ needs, but Tara got a Hypnofrog, finally! We have named the frog Kif, after Futurama, which this toad is a reference to. He brings in a wonderful 15 points!

One of the boys, I THINK it was Cad, woke up with a blowout, and Tara had to give him a bubble bath.

Tara then attempted to sit down and play some games again, but was interrupted before she was able to get too far.

I swear I did tummy time with Cad as well. I just keep getting pictures of Robin being the one Tara did tummy time with. As a calm infant, he needs a bit more “prodding” to earn milestones.

Final quirk for Robin is revealed, and he is a self-soother. Bless you, Robin. I swear I like both of these kids, but the game really stacked the deck against Cad.

A lovely, blessed moment of peace and quiet. These two really have been a handful, although not as bad as some infants I’ve had. They are relatively on the same schedule, at least.

Well, when you REALLY have to go, but also need to feed your infant, I guess this is a choice you can make. It worked either way, so I’m not going to complain.

Oh, see, I do tummy time with Cad too! I swear he is not getting neglected in any way. Thankfully, Tara is still on family leave. I have never actually used family leave before in this game, and I’m glad it exists right now.

After some additional tummy time for Robin, he also needed a bath, so Tara took him in to give him his own bath. That brings us to the end of this week.

It was a rather eventful and at times, stressful week of the Easter Egg challenge. We did not GAIN any points; we actually lost points due to the -75 for Cad. Our current total is 175 points. Even though we gained 35 new points this week. Sadly, I did NOT get a dialog box that said anything about the life, universe, and everything for the birth, and from what I can see, that may not even exist. Either way, we are limited in the points we can gather at this point, but we’ll keep working towards it all next week. I hope you enjoyed the update and will join us next time. Thanks for reading!

SimNaNo Update #7

Welcome back to a new Easter Eggs challenge update. We are about two-thirds of the way through our SimNaNo updates for the month. The last week with Tara went by quickly, and the update ended up very short. We did quite a bit with Tara, who attended GeekCon and managed to win the Hackathon while there. She also attempted the gaming challenge, but didn’t win, and even tried a game tournament, which she also didn’t win. She also had a burglar break in and spent a lot of time improving her handiness in the hopes we can get the weather machine upgraded. Let’s dig in!

Week 4

It’s early morning, and rather gloomy when we first join Tara again for this new week. She’s bonding with her bees and collecting the honey.

After that, she heads to the frog-catching spot and tries to catch the elusive Hypnofrog, which we still have had no luck catching. We also keep trying to breed one and haven’t managed that either.

We have to finish getting our handiness to the required level for the weather machine upgrade this week, so Tara is back to making wood carvings (since that makes sense to help with electronics.)

Tara got a promotion and is now a Development Captain! Way to go, Tara!

The hijinks festival is in town again, and Tara still has a goal to get a voodoo doll. She also needs to max her mischief skill, so she heads down and joins the pranksters. Their prize would give her the voodoo doll at least.

While at the festival, Tara talked with someone who was hard-working and decided she likes hard-working sims. You are welcome to like hard-working Sims, Tara. That’s great!

Luckily, for Tara, the Pranksters won the competition without too much effort. Tara now has her voodoo doll. Next, we just have to max mischief to get those points.

As the week progresses, Tara is back to holding yard sales. She needs the money, and this really has been a decent way to get some additional simoleons. She is going to need to expand the house eventually.

In need of some fun and relaxation, Tara picks up Darley Porter & The Basement of Shadows to read. Obviously, this is a reference to Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, which is a new book, and earns us a new 5 points.

After attempting to let the puddle get big enough in the bathroom without much luck, when the kitchen sink broke again, we finally got our ducky puddle recolor. This gives us 10 points, and now Tara can finally fix all the plumbing.

Working on repairing all the various plumbing items means that Tara has finally reached handiness level 8. This is great news as it means we can upgrade the weather machine one last time.

Before that, however, the poor garden needs some help. Tara spends some time tending to it and getting the 4 plants she has planted back in good shape and then harvests everything.

Finally, it’s time to finish upgrading the weather machine. Now that the upgrade is completed, Tara should be able to change the season on her own. I believe there is still a chance it will fail, but hopefully not.

Don was invited over because Tara still needs one child, and she was feeling lonely. Don was feeling unfulfilled in this relationship, which I’m not really surprised about, but it made for a good excuse.

A quick bout of fun for these two, but sadly, after checking, Tara isn’t pregnant. They’ll just have to try again, since I am committed to Don being the father.

It was the television premiere holiday, so Tara sat down to watch the “Game of Llamas” Premiere. It looked a lot like Indiana Jones and an ER-type program to me, but I’m counting it, and giving Tara 10 points.

After watching the premier, Tara and Don are up for another try at getting Tara pregnant. Sadly, this time didn’t work out any better than the last time. We might have to try a different woohoo spot.

None of that really stopped Tara. She’s actually pretty smitten with Don, and they now have a steamy relationship. I think Don is probably fine to keep trying as long as it takes.

Tara has the sedentary lifestyle, and she does live a mostly sedentary life, if you don’t count extracurriculars with Don. I, however, decided to send her on a jog, and she brought her food.

Tara is once again out looking for the Hypnofrog with no luck. I swear the frog is a pain to find. She then spends some time gathering other collectables we can sell later.

Tara went and visited with Don at this house, but the house is a little too busy with an infant around. It made trying for a baby again a little difficult. Instead, a date is suggested, and Don accepts.

They make out by the bar and head into the closet for a little fun that will hopefully get Tara pregnant. Maybe they just needed a change of scenery?

The change was exactly what was needed. Tara is officially pregnant, and I’m happy to have this part finished. Granted, she still has to have the baby and raise it, but now we can go back to spending time doing other things.

Summer is officially prepared to start, and so, super early Sunday morning, the season officially changes. When Tara gets home, she heads out to try the weather machine and set it back to spring if we can.

Success! Tara officially changed the weather back to spring with the weather machine. Way to go, Tara! That gives us another 15 points for being able to use the machine instead of a cheat.

That wraps up the end of week 4. Next week, Tara will have the baby, and that means we will officially be required to expand the house (because a baby is not going to fit easily right now.) Tara doesn’t have a ton of money, but we’ll figure it out. She has earned 215 points after this week, getting 40 points this week. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the update!

SimNaNo Update #6

Welcome back to the Cobb Monster Mash! The last time we saw this branch of the Cobb family, they celebrated Winterfest and New Year’s. The second set of twins grew into teens, and they all participated in the Hijinks Festival. Time to see how they are doing now!

When we first join the family, everyone is up and gathered around the table. I really need to redo this area of the house and get them a better dining table. Surely they can have a table big enough to fit all of them.

Our heiress takes Peanut on a jog around the island on what is turning out to be a lovely day in Sulani. I think the kids have been mermaids long enough, and it’s probably time to get them the next lifestate.

Meilani has a chat with Violet on her bed. The family has been a bit tense lately, and even though Meilani and Riley are in a good place, the kids are stressed with school.

This picture has NOTHING to do with the challenge, but I was intrigued by this sim and how they showed up at the beach. It’s quite the outfit for a sandy tropical location.

These two lovebirds decided, after a couple’s counseling session, to get over a fear, to get a dress-up trunk, and then sit on the bed and share chocolates. Not sure how Riley is feeding them to Meilani through that gnome head, but hey.

Meilani has a new gig, and this time, there is no one outside to greet her when she gets there.

The inside is a mess, and despite her best efforts, Meilani actually fails this job. She was really struggling with her needs on this job, and even a seance circle couldn’t help.

Meilani decides to take the kids with her to the magic realm on her next visit. The good thing about spellcasters is that they don’t really impact mermaids much, so they can technically be both. Veruca looks a bit dubious about this being the place.

After her mom shows her the way through Veruca looks rather smug about the fact that she just bravely walked right into the portal without a second thought.

Both kids head into the garden to take care of the plants and harvest some harvestables to bring home with them. While doing that, Veruca decides she likes gardening!

I sent each of the kids to get to know a different sage. Veruca is getting to know the Untamed Magic sage, as that feels like the type of magic she might like the most. I sent Victor to get to know the sage of Mischief Magic, naturally.

Unfortunately for Victor, as soon as he took a quick break to use the restroom, the Sage died, right there in the hall, with Grim coming to collect. Victor tried to reason with Grim, but he was unable to save her. That ended the magic realm trip.

Back at home, the younger twins were busy doing their homework. I need to take some time to get them some supernatural states themselves, not that they need it, but just because it’s fun.

It’s a special day, and while we attempted to invite family over, they did not end up coming by. Still, Riley gets started on a cake and unlocks Secret Spice. Now, if I remember correctly, this still causes food to not be consumable, so we aren’t likely to use it yet, but it’s fun to have.

The kids are all home from school, and I think it’s cute that Victor and Veruca seem to be sharing an umbrella. Violet is giving quite the side-eye to her siblings, not sure why.

We have finally replaced the table with a larger, more family-sized table in the dining area. The cake and candles are ready.

Veruca goes first, and I think there is something that keeps giving teens the Self-Assured trait when they grow up. Vercua accepts it and is now a Self-Assured young adult.

Veruca managed to graduate with honors, and now that it APPEARS graduations are working again, we will probably try and go and just see what happens. I should probably update the auditorium for that.

Next, it was Victor’s turn, and he also graduated with honors. He already is Self-Assured, so that didn’t pop up for him. Veruca added Paranoid to her traits, and Victor added Outgoing. They are quite the combo.

Guidry is back with the family again, and this time he goes and chats with Violet for a bit. She really should be working on her homework.

We have some angry spirits at the house today, and Meilani heads out to try and reason with them. It doesn’t go amazingly well, but they don’t cause too much trouble at least.

Guidry is also now on hand for homework help in the evenings, apparently. Guidry really is the best “extra” household member to have. I’m glad we did the haunted lot.

Meilani performs a ceremony to check in and make sure the haunting level is still in good shape. Then, with a little extra practice, she becomes an Acolyte spellcaster.

Vincent and Peanut spend some time together. Peanut often gets a bit sad, even though he is very loved and given a lot of attention. Gudiry sits down to watch TV with Meilani while she works on knitting up some new projects to offer the specters.

Luckily, Meilani is good enough at magic that she is able to repair and clean basically everything in the house at this point. If she keeps going like this, we are likely to be able to use her to give the kids their next lifestate.

Victor has decided that he likes stories. Veruca apparently tells good ones. Sure, Victor, of course you can like stories.

Victor heads out into the sea and plays some mischief, mermaid magic on this unsuspecting beach walker. He lured her into the water and then pulled her under.

Violet comes home with an A in high school. She has been close to it for a while, and it’s finally happened. I’m sure Guidry was a big help.

Vincent brought this girl home from school, so Peanut gives her a once-over. The girls all end up hanging out with Violet, who is trying to do her current homework. She really wants to be nosy, though.

When Meilani arrives at her latest paranormal gig, it seems everyone is really, really freaked out, even the cats are outside. Meilani heads in and starts a ceremony to bring back some harmony.

This time, the job goes off without a hitch, and Meilani is back to having some success in her paranormal work. It was a rough couple of jobs there, but Meilani never gave up.

Vincnet finally got a promotion in his barista job! Way to go, Vincent!

Veruca took Peanut on a shorter walk today. She and Victor should be hearing about their scholarships. Since we need to attend university and hopefully build a Servo for our goals, we had both kids apply. They also both applied for multiple scholarships.

Sadly, so far, it appears Vercua is the only one to get a scholarship. Vincent has a couple of others coming in, so we will see if he has any luck. Still, next week the kids will be starting college.

It’s not quite the end of the week, but this feels like a good place to leave the family, so I’m going to end this update here. Hopefully, the next time we are with this branch of the family, the kids will start Uni and can get a second lifestate. Vercua did get the Spellcraft and Sorcery aspiration, while Victor got a Seeker of Secrets, which suits him quite well. Thank you for reading, and I hope we see you next time!

SimNaNo Update #5

Welcome back to the Sweet Lips challenge and our halfway spot of SimNaNo. I am not entirely convinced I’ll manage to complete my goals, but hopefully I can keep the updates coming! The last time we saw Dawn Cobb she had worked her way through a few more supernatural kisses, traveled to Selvadorada, and got a few promotions. Let’s get into the next week!

Week 3

As we join Dawn for the start of week three, the mail is being delivered. Dawn recognizes this great opportunity and heads out to do an enchanting introduction.

It doesn’t take long until Dawn has confirmed he really is the mail carrier and gets that kiss. That gives us 20 points off the bat (new sim and new NPC.)

Dawn got herself a mastery perk and can now be In The Zone. I frankly do not know which skill she got this for, but sure!

Dawn has been doing really well with her job and her aspiration, so it was time to send her into the woods. She met the park ranger, but he isn’t interested in that type of relationship with her.

She bought herself a tent and headed out to find the hermit. An enchanting introduction later, and he is also not interested in that type of relationship with Dawn. Granite Falls has not been kind so far.

Back from the Deep Woods, Dawn spies a “bear.” Will the bear be interested in giving Dawn a kiss?

They were!!! YAY. That gives us another 20 points for a new sim, and the first, and likely last, bear NPC. That almost makes up for the rest of the trip. The bear, kind of obviously, doesn’t have a job.

Back from her trip, Dawn heads to the cafe and manages to catch a kiss from the Barista working there! That gives Dawn yet another 20 points. She is on a roll now!

Dawn heads to Brindleton Bay and the vet office. Now this one might get a bit “sticky.” I’ve mostly been operating under, even if the NPCs that are listed on the website do not list one that appears to be an NPC, if they have that red “title” in their name box, I will treat them as an NPC. That means vets are getting counted, since they do have to exist if you don’t “own” the vet clinic.

Sadly, this vet wasn’t interested in Dawn in that way, but that’s ok. There is more than one vet at this clinic!

I love this enchanting introduction. It really does make it fairly easy to get someone ready for a kiss, but Dawn also always tries to build up a friendship as well.

Luckily, Ann was interested in Dawn in that way, and Dawn got another kiss. This is another one worth 20 points since I’m counting the vet as an NPC.

For the evening, Dawn heads downtown to see if we can find any of the weirdos or the statue (which I’m not sure we can actually kiss, but we’ll find out). She doesn’t find any of them, but does get another kiss. Hilary is our first caterer and gives us 15 points.

Dawn gets herself a new promotion and is now a Textile Tactician! She’s doing really well in her career so far. Great job, Dawn!

Dawn then gets a fame quirk, seeing as how her blogs have been doing really good and she’s been gaining a bit of fame. She doesn’t want to be touched. Well, sorry, Dawn, you have kisses to get, but hopefully, since they are instigated by her, she’ll be ok.

Dawn needs to go on some dates. She and the barista from earlier, Salome, hit it off so well that she asked us on a date. Dawn says yes since she needs more for her aspiration.

The date went very well, even though this gives us no points. She has to try and finish her aspiration, and we still need a couple more dates that go well.

Dawn decided to paint in the dark bathroom, I think, for some reason. She needs a new level of painting for her job anyway, so have at it, Dawn!

Another night, and this time Dawn is on a date with someone from Cupid’s Corner. They aren’t the most exciting sim to Dawn, but she doesn’t need to be in love.

Didn’t take long for Dawn to get the kiss she wanted. Kierra is unemployed, so that only gives us another 5 points for being a new sim.

They do hang out for a bit and do some other romantic interactions to make it a good date, or at least to try. I’m not sure if we got to gold or not.

Later in the week, Dawn heads out again and this time uses her enchanting introduction on Johnny Zest.

He is unemployed at this point, so no additional points for kissing Johnny. He’s still the normal 5 points for being a new kiss, though!

Checking over the list the wiki has of the various NPCs that exist in the game, I decided to send Dawn to Ravenwood and check around to find the Weeping Mother Alice. I honestly had no idea if she was kissable or not.

Turns out, she is! She is also unemployed, but not shocked there. That is another 20 points, since Dawn kissed a ghost already! Dawn has really racked up the points this week! Dawn decided to talk to her about her woes, and we got a quest.

Before heading out to do that, Dawn offered this crow a gift. The crow didn’t seem either impressed or dejected about the gift, so we’ll take that, I guess.

So the quest Dawn got from the weeping mother was to learn about her kids, and the first one we had to learn about, we had to enter the crypt for.

Deimos was the child we were supposed to learn about, and Dawn found him easily enough. I am very curious what the rest of the sentence following “Sentenced….” was going to be.

While that was a fun interlude, Dawn needed to get back to working on her career a bit more, so the next morning was spent doing just that.

Later, after the work tasks for the day were done, Dawn invited Alissa out on a date with her to the cliffs.

Alissa is another Mixologist; however, she starts glowing right after that. That means Alissa is an alien (which is confirmed shortly after), and gives us 25 points for this kiss. That also means we have kissed our alien for the challenge. I believe Mermaid is the last of the “main” occults I have.

The date went well, and I feel like this was completed incorrectly. I did not believe Dawn had enough gold level dates, but she has been dating quite a bit, and from the pictures I took, I might have missed one. So we will count this as completing Dawn’s aspiration. She rolled for another and got Archaeology Scholar. Well, it might not be bad to go back to the forest.

In the meantime, Dawn gets herself another promotion. I believe this has put her up to level 8 of her career at this point. Luckily, I do not believe she has jumped wildly up through her career so far.

In the interest of seeking out a new librarian, since the last one we visited wasn’t interested in a kiss, Dawn heads to the library near her house. While there, she needs to give a makeover and finds the perfect target. This makeup is NOT good.

Makeover completed, and the lucky woman looking MUCH better, it’s back to the reason Dawn really came. Jensen gives us a new 20 points for being a new sim and our first librarian.

It was the snow festival, so Dawn heads to Mt Komorebi and meets Yamachan. Sadly, there do not appear to be any interactions we can do with Yamachan to make it so they can be kissed, currently.

That night was the romance festival, and Dawn headed downtown. Sadly, the guru was the same one as the last time we were here, so no chance there. Instead, Dawn enchantingly introduces herself to this guy.

Sadly, Joshua here is unemployed, so only 5 more points for being a new kiss. Dawn was then tired and headed back home. The week is almost done, and she has stayed VERY busy.

Dawn ends the week with a good jog around town. Her kissing and romance skills have risen exponentially, and she made some really good progress with the NPCs this week. Now that her aspiration is completed, we will work a bit more on her career, which has been going really well. That wraps up week 3, and I hope you will join us for her next week soon. Thanks for reading!!!

SimNaNo Update #4

Welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge! We are back with Tara, who finished up week 2 the last time we saw her. She completed a few of the simpler easter eggs and started working on getting the one child she’s required to have. The weeks might be a bit shorter going forward, but let’s dig in!

Week 3

We are going to start the week with Tara holding another yard sale. This one was quite late in the evening so she didn’t sell as much as she sometimes does, but that’s ok. Tara focused a lot of time on building her skills.

Tara has decided she does not enjoy listening to Electronica Music, which, ok, that’s fine.

GeekCon came into town, so Tara left her job a little early to go participate. Her boss might not be thrilled, but he’ll survive. She started off by participating in the Hackathon, where she earned 75%.

After the Hackathon, Tara stopped at the food stand and grabbed herself a burger. Gotta keep her strength up to participate in the game challenges next.

To no one’s surprise, Tara did not pass the Ultimate Gaming Test. She did the best at Blicblock. That is also not surprising since that’s the one she plays the most. I think it might be the only one she has played.

She did enter a novice tournament for Blicblock while at the con, but she didn’t win that either. That wasn’t unexpected, but you never know until you give it a try if she might have.

Unlike the gaming competition, to my utter shock, Tara WON the Hackathon! Way to go, Tara! That doesn’t actually give us anything for the Easter Egg challenge, but I’m still shocked and pretty proud of her. We need to hack a supercomputer at some point, so this feels like a good step.

One major thing it does do for Tara, however, is give her this BEAUTIFUL computer. We need to expand the house a bit and give Tara an office. She is also going to need a nursery at some point.

Tara needs some extra cash, so she holds another yard sale. She is making some decent money, especially with the produce gaining in quality at this point. Each yard sale usually gives her a few hundred or more simoleons.

A burglar showed up to break into the house. Tara doesn’t have a burglar alarm, so while she made it into the house, Tara was able to wake up and call the cops quickly. She did attempt to confront the burglar on her own, but the cops showed up and took care of it before anything further happened.

Tara still tends her little garden, and the plants have evolved a couple of times thanks to her care. The bees help as well, of course.

Tara and Don head out on a date to Brindleton Bay, and the date doesn’t go great. He wasn’t in a good mood, and Tara struggled herself. The weather wasn’t very nice either.

I decided to switch out Tara’s bed, and while it does not get listed as an easter egg item, this bed is absolutely a play on the Polly Pocket toy. The shape of the bed, the pastel, and the name are all very intentional.

We need to get Tara up to level 8 of handiness in order to finish upgrading the weather machine. We have one more week to get it updated in order to keep the season in spring.

Tara sits down to read a new easter egg book. Atlas Hugged is obviously a play on Atlas Shrugged. That gives us another book for 5 more points, the first real points of this week.

To keep working on her handiness, Tara also begins to make updates to the various items in the house. The appliances are especially getting upgraded.

Tara gets to level 7, and she needs at least one more, so more woodworking and upgrading the kettle are in order. She is not going to get to level 8 this week, but hopefully next week.

We will be ending the update with yet another yard sale. Tara has been holding them often, and she is getting some regular customers who always show up and always buy something.

That wraps up the third week in this challenge. I know this was a short update, but a lot of progress was made towards things. Next week, spring is officially over, so we will see if we can use the weather machine to set it back for points or if we are going to have to take the hit. We will also need to get the baby going soon. We are up to 175 points, only gaining 5 this week, but hopefully we made strides towards some more. I hope you will join us for the next week soon!

SimNaNo Update #3

Hello and welcome back to the Genetics Roulette challenge!! This branch of the Cobb family is mostly in a holding pattern now, just waiting for Lilah and Buffy to finish growing up. We have effectively 3 sim weeks left, so we may finish this update. When we were last with this branch of the Cobb family, Nathanial aged into an elder, and Buffy and Lilah both became teens. Dawn also grew up and moved out, where we just saw her in the Sweet Lips challenge. Let’s dig in!

We start off with Nathanial talking with Lilah as she tries to get her homework done. Perhaps he is trying to help, but her face almost looks like she’s trying to get him to understand she appreciates it, but needs to concentrate.

Buffy took herself to the “all-purpose” room, but even she couldn’t escape some parental supervision of her homework. Olivia at least seems to be content to just be around in case Buffy needs help.

Buffy has joined the football team, which is pretty fun. She gets some practice handling the ball out in the yard.

Xander, I think, comes over to hang out for a bit. It could be Wesley. A lot of the boys look very similar, but no, yellow jacket, that’s Xander.

Lilah gets a promotion and is now the top of the retail service teen job. She is officially Customer Support, which, I’m sorry, Lilah, you’ll get a better job soon.

Buffy decided she likes fitness. This is a good thing, seeing as how she is on the football team. Yes, Buffy, like fitness all you want!

Buffy looks super cute in her football jersey as she leaves for practice. I hope we can get her up to the top without too many issues.

Lilah has been having a rough time with her Retail career. She constantly has her fun in the red, so one day I let her stay up and just drink a sleep replacement potion instead to get everything back into the green, but then I realized it’s a holiday.

Harvestfest is here once again, and the house is decorated for the holiday. Buffy and Nathanial take advantage of the lovely fall day to get some practice in.

All of the family is invited over, and two grand meals are made to accommodate everyone eating. The house is noisy and very full.

I’m not sure those original pictures truly do the crowd in this house justice, so here is a top-down, no-walls view of just how many people are gathered around. It’s so much fun, though.

Buffy managed to come home with an A in school, which means she is 1/2 way to being able to graduate early, since my rule is she has to have gotten top grades, obviously, and maxed her after-school job/team.

Lilah decides to give the football thing a try and help out her sister with practice. They aren’t the best, and Buffy has gotten hit in the head a couple of times, but she’s tough.

The family takes a trip to the beach near Riely and his family to hang out for a bit. They have a good time and even hang out with Victor before heading home.

Nathanial and Olivia are still pretty steamy with each other. They have had their ups and downs with their romance during the challenge, but they are still very much in love.

Lilah and Buffy have some mean interactions with each other, and it’s decided they have a difficult dynamic. It’s fine, they can have a difficult dynamic; this family is probably too wholesome.

It’s birthday time again, and the whole family is invited over. We spent a bunch of time calling over and over again to make sure everyone in the family is here for the occasion.

That’s because it’s Olivia’s birthday. She is now an elder, which doesn’t change a whole lot about her looks; she is just now older and a little achier. She has done such a good job raising all of these kids!

With that, our family photo wall has its final update. There will be one final photo in the living room that will be just Buffy and her parents after Lilah moves out. It’s been fun to watch the family grow and change through these photos.

These two now spend their time during the day kissing each other, and Nathanial did something I’ve never seen and went to watch nature from the treehouse. That was pretty cool.

Buffy came home with a promotion on the football team! Way to go, Buffy!

We have been trying to speed through this last little bit, so we might end up with a slightly longer chapter than normal. I’m ready to take Buffy and start the final challenge (although maybe not quite yet.)

Lilah is allowed to graduate early. She did great, maxed her career, and got her A. She is now going to just hang out around the house, and maybe work a bit on her aspiration.

It’s getting close to another holiday, and Olivia is up and baking first thing in the morning. I’m betting the house smells amazing with the freshly baked cookies.

The family is all invited over for Winterfest, and it’s a great holiday. Everyone had fun, and there were lots of presents to open. Winterfest turned out really good this year.

Lilah is still willing to help Buffy with her football practice often. It’s fun to have her doing so well in the sport.

Olivia and Nathanial are proud of all of their kids, and enjoy spending time with both Lilah and Buffy while they still live at home.

Both girls work on their aspirations. Lilah needed to get a suntan, and Buffy needed to vacuum for multiple hours. While Buffy is not able to complete her milestone quite yet, Lilah does get her suntan.

She then goes and starts cooking up some food, and decides she likes cooking. Sure thing! You can like cooking, Lilah!

It’s New Year’s, and so the family makes some resolutions and watches the countdown, ending with hugs all around at midnight.

The girls all work on getting the house cleaned up after the New Year, taking down the tree, scrubbing the plumbing, vacuuming, repairing the fridge, etc. It was effectively spring cleaning day.

Nathanial finishes up his second aspiration, which is pretty exciting. He rolls for a new one and picks up Romantic Explorer next. We probably won’t get all the way through or make a ton of progress on this one.

Buffy comes home from the next practice, promoted to team captain! Way to go, Buffy!!!

These two head out to the woohoo blanket and watch the sky and do a bit more. Maybe we should have this blanket in the backyard of the house, but they don’t seem to mind.

Buffy doesn’t really need to work out too much more, but we might as well keep her fit for as long as possible. The 16th birthday challenge is not going to allow her much time for herself.

As captain, I figured Dawn should attend the football day at the school. The whole family goes and watches Dawn throw around her golden football.

It’s a party, and so many people are around the house again. We have another special day today!

That’s right, Lilah is now a YA. Happy Birthday, Lilah!! You did really well!

Bye, bye Lilah! I promise to download you and use you for something later! You were a TON of fun!

Buffy has decided to keep running. I think she kind of likes it. I believe she may like fitness in general!

MCCC wasted no time in moving Lilah into the neighborhood. She lives downtown in the apartments!

Buffy is allowed to graduate early. She reached her goals. Top of her class, captain of the football team, and she is very close to her birthday!

Buffy decided that she likes jokes after Olivia cracked her up while cooking. Sure thing, Buffy, like jokes!

All of the extended family is over today. The kids, all the spouses we know and are still around, everyone we can. Today is a very exciting, very special day.

Buffy’s birthday is FINALLY here!!! I will admit I basically sped through the last little bit of this challenge, and didn’t try to do much but keep everyone alive. Happy Birthday, Buffy!!!

Buffy is going to take on the final challenge of this Boolprop Birthday challenge and have 16 of her own kids, but luckily, those kids can age up early! That brings the Genetic Roulette challenge to a close! Let’s take a quick look at what we accomplished.

The kids’ genetics were pretty consistently the parents’ coloring, or defaults. There were a couple of outliers, but in total they gave us 125 points

Olivia and Nathaial gained us another 30 points as they both achieved their initial aspirations, and Nathaial completed another one. I could have gotten more points if I switched Olivia’s, but I didn’t really do this for points.

Finally, the twins, Riley and Charles, lost us 10 points for being a multiple birth.

Adding all of those points up together, we get a final score listed below. Thank you to all who read and followed along. I hope you enjoyed this branch of the family! One challenge down!

Final Total Score: 145 points

SimNaNo Update #2

Hello and welcome to our next SimNaNo update, and the second chapter of the Sweet Lips challenge! Last time, we joined Dawn Cobb as she started this challenge by moving into Windenburg, getting a job as a Stylist, and working her way through nine kisses and a promotion. Let’s see how week 2 goes!

Week 2

We will join Dawn the morning after the romance festival. It was a long night, and Dawn is happy to be up and ready for another week. She is blazing through her aspiration so far, and getting lots of kisses.

I believe she has the day off, so we head over to Moonwood Mill to hang out at the bar there. Maybe we’ll get lucky and meet a werewolf to kiss. We do actually meet a known mermaid as well. Ukupaniko is a merman, and so Dawn greets him for the future.

Her true focus is on this guy, Titus Pierre. He is a wolf pup, and perfect for Dawn’s purposes. They get to know each other for a while and flirt until they have a good enough relationship.

Titus does happen to have a job as a Mixologist, but sadly, we have already kissed our mixologist, so he is only worth 25 points. That’s 5 for a new kiss, and 20 for being a new lifestate (werewolf).

Look who showed up a the werewolf bar!! That’s Caleb Vatore, one of our quests for sure. He is, obviously, a known vampire, and we want to get his kiss! Caleb is also just such a fun sim.

In a funny turn of events, Caleb decided to kiss Dawn before she had a chance to try and kiss him. He’s apparently a very passionate vampire. He’s unemployed, which is too bad, but not surprising. So that’s another 25 points. That marks off the vampire kiss.

Once Caleb leaves, Dawn decides to get some actual work done on her career. Sadly, the sketch pad completely bugs out, and now Dawn can’t do much of anything. I’ll have to sell and rebuy it and hope it works.

Luckily, that fiasco didn’t stop Dawn from getting her next promotion. We are blazing right along, getting through our career, which is a requirement of this challenge.

Dawn needs to take some new pictures, and as she has some money saved up from her promotions so far, we decide to send her on a little vacation to Selvadorada, and she takes her photos around the square.

This vendor was kind enough to pose for us and let us get another picture out of the way. We were also able to take some inspirational photos around the square.

After a bit of time, Dawn was able to kiss Luciano. He is a Selvadorada Native, as well as a Market Vendor, but as I already kissed a vendor, we are just going to count him being a native as he is otherwise unemployed. That’s another 20 points.

Dawn took time to get to know many of the other Sims who were hanging out in the marketplace area. She may not be able to kiss all of them, but the more options we have the more likely we’ll get those kisses.

For some reason, Dawn decided she was Generous with all this. I mean, she is generous with her kisses for sure, so why not? Sure, Dawn, you can now be generous.

This guy was seemingly interested in Dawn, even though this lady got in the way of their flirting. His name is Casimiro, and he doesn’t appear to be anything special, just a sim from this world.

He’s even unemployed, and while the kiss glitched out, I promise she did KISS him, and that gives us another 5 points. Kind of funny how she was kissing the air, maybe she felt put out by the fact he’s unemployed.

As the evening fell, Dawn headed to the bar in town and got to know even more people, although many of them were visitors just like her. That’s ok.

She ends up getting a kiss from Mauricio, who is another unemployed normal sim. Her luck hasn’t been the best in Selvadorada at finding super interesting kisses so far.

Dawn took her one machete; she tried to buy another, but that vendor wandered off before she could, and traveled into the jungle. She found some nice trinkets but no one interesting to kiss this time.

Dawn returned from the jungle and found out the full moon revelry was happening, so she decided to go and see what was up. There were many ims there, but no one she got a kiss from, yet.

The next day, we took a small break from socializing to get some actual work done. Since Dawn is supposed to have a life outside of kissing, she did some drawing, worked on her impression board, and her blogs.

After getting a bunch of work done for the day, Dawn headed out to capture some more pictures and inspirations from around the world. She even took a historical tour of the chapel in Nordhaven.

She also grabbed some shots of the marketplace in Tomorang, even though she didn’t stay long enough to visit it. It is a night market after all.

Dawn’s inspiration board isn’t very full yet, but Dawn is starting to feel like it is getting more and more filled out. It’s mostly colors right now, but she is sure in time she will add many things.

The next day, Dawn went into the city and visited the gym there. She was lucky enough to meet this guy, who is part of the paparazzi.

It doesn’t take long before she is able to give him a smooch. A bunch of other paparazzi also showed up, but I couldn’t find a celebrity on the lot anywhere. Still, Takashi adds 20 new points.

Dawn went into the gym and got to know the gym trainer, which took a bit of effort as she was in the process of training someone when we walked up to her. Hopefully, the trainee doesn’t mind.

That is another kiss down, and the gym trainer NPC marked off. That gives Dawn another 20 points for kissing the gym trainer, a new sim for us.

When Dawn arrived back home, Victor Feng was there. She had gotten to know him and flirted with him during her first week, so she took advantage of the situation. He’s in politics, which means we have another 15 points!

All the work on her career lately has given Dawn a new promotion. She is now a Dedicated Dresser.

Dawn isn’t going to sleep on her career, though, and works some more on her inspiration board. It’s getting fuller now that she’s devoted some more time to it.

Dawn invited Ekade over. She met him at the Full Moon Revelry Festival, and he is a member of the Order of Lenore. He is also a senior manager, which is a new career, meaning he gives us 30 points.

Lilith visited Dawn that evening, and she was awake, so instead of her being allowed to walk away, we invited Lilith in and got a kiss out of the deal. Now, we have already kissed Caleb, and since she doesn’t have a new career, she is only worth 5 points, but still.

The next day, Dawn takes a quiet morning at home to get some more work done. She’s been making good progress on her aspiration and is down to the final level. She needs gold-level dates and multiple partners, which she is slowly working through.

This guy showed up at our door, and so Dawn didn’t see any reason to not try her hand at another kiss. It was a good break from work.

Juan David happens to be ANOTHER Mixologist. I think my save is overrun with them. Just kidding, but we have met and kissed many. That means Juan David is just 5 points, but it’s still another kiss.

Dawn decided to head out for a jog. She has been working hard on both her career and her goals for this challenge, and it was time for a health break.

Then it was back to work. She needs to level up her writing some more to get the next promotion. Dawn works on her blogs for a bit.

Dawn actually manages to get herself a fame level. It could be useful to gain some more fame and make it easier to kiss the celebrities.

Dawn traveled to Ravenwood to attend the festival that day. She met a few more people, and while she has no one new to kiss quite yet, it was good to meet some new people.

Dawn then took a bit of time to wander around the town and learned a bit more about this goat statue. He has quite a history in Ravenswood, and it was fun to learn that lore.

As the day wore on, Dawn decided to head to the pub. Perhaps finding someone new to kiss. She does need to kiss a ghost after all, so she romantically introduces herself to this ghost.

The ghost happens to be Timothy, and he is a House DJ. That gives us a new NPC (DJ) and a new lifestate! That means Timothy gives us 40 new points. With that kiss, the week winds down for Dawn, and she heads home.

That is where we will leave Dawn for now, and we will be back with another week before too much longer, I hope. Thank you to those who have been reading along, and I will be back with a new Cobb update soon (although I’m not sure which branch it will be.)

SimNaNo Update #1

Hello and welcome to the Sweet Lips challenge for the Cobb family. This challenge is part of the Boolprop 20th’s birthday challenge and is challenge number 4 we are working on. I decided to use Dawn Cobb as our founder for this, whom you will know if you have read the Genetic Roulette challenge. The rules can be found on the landing page for this specific challenge, or at the link I’ll share here.

This is another short challenge, and we wiped all of Dawn’s traits and skills and will be using a fresh copy of her. She is allowed pretty much any job and aspiration, but she does need to work towards them and attempt to complete them. We can’t have children, and we can’t use clubs, but we will be using Cupid’s Corner. All right, that’s all the nitty-gritty figured out, let’s dig in!

Week One

Dawn moved into a little starter in Windenburg. It doesn’t have much, but it’s perfect for Dawn. She has the traits: Art Lover, Self-Assured, and Lovebug. Her aspiration is to be a Serial Romantic, and her job is as a Style Influencer, working towards being a Stylist. I figured it’s a career where she is free a lot of the time and can meet lots of people.

Dawn grabs herself a cheap computer, works on her first work tasks, and gets signed up for Cupid’s Corner so she can at least match and maybe go on some blind dates. They don’t always work out, but that’s the goal.

The flea market is in town, so Dawn heads down to start meeting people and figure out if there is anyone she can kiss down there. We meet a lot of people, and I am trying to keep track of everyone she has met so I can make note of their lifestates, careers, etc. That helps for when we go to kiss them.

Felix is more than willing to stop by after the flea market, and Dawn gets her first kiss. Felix is a Candy Stall Vendor, which I think is the same as the just plain “Vendor” job, but maybe not. Either way, he’s worth 20 points for being an NPC Sim (I think) and a new kiss.

Dawn also met Lien Sadya, a fellow Stylist at the flea market, but she isn’t interested in us in that way, so no kissing for us. Lien did ask to stay at our house, though, so we currently have a house guest.

GeekCon was happening, so Dawn finds herself downtown again, meeting even more people, and hopefully some future kisses. Festivals are going to be quite useful.

Manuel, whom we also met at the flea market originally, becomes our next kiss. He is from Lovestruck, so not an NPC this time, but he is a Pianist. He is worth 15 points, 10 for a new career, and 5 for being a new kiss.

Dawn spent the rest of GeekCon playing games and getting to know more sims. She’s got a lot of life yet, and many kisses to try and get along the way. She has also taken a few steps in her aspiration.

I believe this sim just came into our house, but he might have been walking by. Either way, he’s invited in to see if he is anyone interesting. His makeup is really something.

Turns out, fabulous makeup aside, he’s not that terribly interesting of a kiss to get, but that’s ok. He still gives us another 5 points for being someone new.

Dawn is all about meeting people, so when the stand in the square outside her house opens, she takes her breakfast out there and says hello. She also needs to do some work tasks. This includes getting some interviews from people for her fashion blog.

Her work is already paying off with her first promotion. She got herself a new PC, although we are still fine working on our small one for now. The extra money will probably be good, although her bills are small for now.

Dawn had to take some pictures for her job, so she went wandering about and asking to take pictures of people, took some pictures of sights around her area, etc. Some of these turned out nicely, I think.

Dawn does buckle down and get some work done in her little dining room. She needs to go on some dates for her aspiration, so we open up Cupid’s Corner and pick to do a blind date, because it’s just a date for her aspiration. If it leads to a kiss, great.

She gets a date with Crispin Black, who is a playable sim from Business and Hobbies. What I did not initially know is that he was originally an Urb from The Urbz games. I thought that was fun.

Their date went well, and Dawn got another kiss out of the deal. He brings in another 15 points due to his career and being new.

Crispin apparently really liked the kiss because he immediately came in for another one. Sorry, Crispin, you only count once. I’m glad you enjoyed the date, though!

I can’t remember if there was something she needed to do, but I sent Dawn to the library and thought we’d try our hand at getting a librarian kiss. Sadly, this librarian wasn’t into us in “that way,” so no kisses for us.

Dawn sits to do some sort of writing….oh wait, I remember why we are here. It was power conservation day at home, so Dawn was sent to the library to get work done. I need to consider repealing that NAP.

The library wasn’t a total bust, though, as Lucha was more than willing to give us a kiss after a bit of flirting. He adds another 15 points for his career, and being new.

Dawn got another date and ended up kissing this guy, who is Lincoln Rust. I didn’t get a picture of his career, but he’s unemployed, so he wasn’t interesting anyway. He’s just 5 points for being new.

Dawn was on a roll and feeling good, so it’s out on another date, which added to her aspiration. I believe she is on level 3 at this point, but needs to kiss 10 sims. L. Faba, though, is totally down for the date, and I know she’s a Sage of Magic.

So after the date, Dawn hadn’t been able to learn about L. Faba, so we sent her to the magic realm, just to make sure. L. Faba is unemployed (not shocking), but she is the Sage of Mischief Magic!

L. Faba gives us a whopping 40 points. She is new, an NPC (Sage), AND a Spellcaster, which is our first lifestate that isn’t just a normal sim. Woohoo! Way to do Dawn!

Back at home, Dawn gets a visit from Penny Pizzaz, who is more than happy to offer us another kiss. Penny is a playable character from City Living, if you somehow didn’t know, and she brings a new 15 points.

The romance festival is in town, so Dawn heads there. It’s a great place to meet some people. She attempted to romance the guru, but she wasn’t into us. Sad….maybe next festival.

Dawn did, however, hit it off really well with Cameron Fletcher, who is a mixologist in this particular instance of the save. That makes him a new NPC!

Dawn grabs a kiss from Cameron and nets another 20 points for the NPC status of Cameron. That wraps up Dawn’s first week as part of this challenge. Next week we will try and get a bit more work done on our career, but we are getting close to getting through her aspiration already. This has been a really fun challenge, and I hope you enjoyed it as well. I hope you join me for the next update!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 2

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | To Sweet Lips

Welcome back to the Easter Egg challenge. The last time we saw Tara, she was getting started with this challenge, and managed to buy all the point providing build/buy items. She also worked a bit on her career and played a lot of games. Let’s check in on her second week!

Week 2:

We start the second week with a lawn sale of all the various items that Tara has acquired and does not currently need. She needs the weather machine, so she can work on getting it upgraded. That’s going to take some time, and I’d like to start soon.

The welcome wagon of Nancy and Geoffrey Landgraab finally arrives to welcome Tara to the neighborhood. She mostly ignores them to play her game.

While Tara was “hanging out” with the welcome wagon, or playing BlicBlock in this case, we decided to change out the window. While this gives us no points, it is an easter egg. The window’s name is a play on the band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark.

We had enough money to also purchase this wall light. The Marker Shard is a play on the Dead Space video game series, where The Marker is one of the objects/entities in the game that looks kind of similar to the light.

We have also been able to finally get and start updating the Weather Machine, which we will need to use in order to keep it spring all the time. It’s going to take quite a bit of updating to get there, but Tara should be able to do it.

One final Easter Egg item Tara was able to purchase was this Sirens’ Glowing Pylon light. This, again, dosn’t give us any additional points, but it’s fun to try and find and get all of these. This one is based on the Siren or Forbidden Siren video game.

Tara was in need of some fun, and we needed to get to reading some Easter Egg books. We can read 5 of them for a max of 25 points, 5 points each. Lucas Dark and The Increasingly Unlikely Series of Coincidences is her first book to read, and this is a reference to the Series of Unfortunate Events books. That gives Tara +5 points.

Tara decided to go to the Hijinks festival in the hopes of doing enough mischief to get a voodoo doll. Sadly, she was one of the only people at the festival who joined the pranksters, and so there was a tie.

Tara was not in the best mood when I had her make herself some tea. It’s Earl Grey, Hot, which gives us 10 points and is a reference to Star Trek, where this is Picard’s standard order.

Tara has bonded a lot with her bees and sent them out to bring her back something. Sometimes they will bring postcards, so I thought we might as well try. This time they brought us a fossil, though, so it’s added to our table to sell.

Tara came home with a promotion! She’s doing really well so far in this career, and hopefully we’ll be able to max it without too many issues, and then we can join the science career.

Tara starts a new yard sale, trying to sell off some of the excess items. She has quite a few from her garden and breeding frogs. She is also selling honey, and is able to typically sell at 100% or 200% markup at this point.

Tara finally got an easel to allow us to start painting, as there are easter egg paintings we need. Sadly, this is not one of them. It is kind of a fun painting, though. I like it.

It may be small, but Tara does still take care of this garden as it’s bringing her in some much-needed money. We are going to have to expand this house for a child before TOO terribly long.

Tara stops by a distant neighbor’s house. This is a neighborhood over, but if you know who lives here, you might have an idea of what Tara is here for.

Yep, it’s the infamous Don Lothario. Technically, Katrina Caliente is downstairs, but Don is not the committed type, literally. So Tara doesn’t have any qualms about using him for what she needs.

They go on a little date and enjoy some closet woohoo, after which Don gives Tara a rose. It’s actually pretty cute. I get why people would fall for Don. Sadly, no pregnancy yet, but we’ve got some time.

The next yard sale that Tara holds has a lot of people stop by and many things are purchased. She keeps the table well stocked and is happy to provide so much produce to the neighborhood.

Tara buys herself some medicine and takes it as one of our next Easter Eggs. She is now overmedicated and gets the “this is your brain on drugs” description. I grew up when these were all over the TV, so it’s kind of funny. This gives us 10 points.

Don comes over to visit Tara, and she is very suave with him. He seems a bit taken aback. Hey Don, turnabout is fair play. Tara is just using you, and I’m pretty sure you know it.

There is still no pregnancy, but Don gets a key to our house so he can come over whenever he wants. Eventually, Tara will have a baby with Don, and I want him to be able to come over and see the kid anytime he wants.

That, however, wraps up week two of this challenge. We did not add a ton of points this week, but we did add some. She finished last week with 135 points, and we added another 15 points, but can give ourselves another 10 points for blogging this challenge. That gives us a new total of 170 points. When we are back for week 3, Tara will probably try and at least get pregnant with her one and only baby. I hope to see you then, and thanks for reading!

Boolprop 20: Easter Eggs Chapter 1

To Monster Mash | Next Chapter

Hello and welcome to the Easter Egg challenge! With this challenge, we are starting the 3rd of five challenges for the Boolprop 20th Birthday celebration. I decided we will be using Tara Cobb as our founder for the Easter Egg challenge. You may recognize her from the Genetic Roulette challenge that started this birthday celebration. The rules are posted in a few places, but here is the link again if you want to review them.

One of the things we will be trying to do is find many of the various Easter Eggs that exist in the game. Some of them will give us points, based on the rules, and others will not; they will just be for fun. If you want to see the list we are going to be working off of, check out the wiki entry here.

So our start nets us no points, since we are starting with Tara, but that’s ok. I want to keep these challenges all in the family, and Tara was one of my favorite kids from the initial challenge.

Week 1:

We do get some points by starting with this cute little starter house in Yuma Heights. That gains us +25 points just for that. Yuma Heights is a play on Lima Heights from Glee.

We got super lucky with our roll. Tara only needs a single kid for this challenge, which will be done easily, and won’t break the bank expanding the house, since we have a lot of stuff to buy.

One of the things we have to do is get all the build/buy items on our point list before the end of week one. So we start with this little gnome, parodying Guardians of the Galaxy. That gives us +10 points

Off to the side of the house, under the awning, we grabbed the Wolf Pytts gaming table. It’s based on Bear Grylls, and is worth another 10 points, provided we keep these through the entire challenge, which I plan on doing.

On the other side of the house, we grabbed the Bertie’s Bee Box, which is an homage to Burt’s Bees. They do skin care products mostly, and Tara will need to bond with the bees. She gets another 10 points for keeping the bees.

We had to move some things around to add this High Ground stool. This is, of course, a reference to Star Wars. This adds another 10 points to our score so far. We will have a lot of points in week one, and probably lessen over time.

Our last immediate buy item was this wall of stars. This is a reference to a Coldplay song, if you happen to know it. If we keep it as well, that’s another 10 points.

Actually, there was one more thing we bought on day one. This Schmapple Kettle. Schmapple is obviously a play on Apple products, and while we will try and get more of the Schmapple line, for now it’s just the kettle. That is still +10 points though.

Tara gets herself a job as a Tech Guru, starts as Code Monkey (another reference), but before work, she has some time to go collect frogs. We need a HypnoFrog, but so far, no luck. We might be able to breed one if we get the right frogs.

Since she was out anyway, Tara went on a whole collection run. We need a lot of money to finish buying the build/buy items, plus we are going to need a weather machine.

We got the notice of the flea market, so Tara went out and tried to sell some of her collected items to the masses. She got a few sales and packed the rest away.

Tara was super hungry after a full day, so she grabbed some food at one of the stands and sat down to eat. I’m not entirely sure who will be the father of her baby. I have an idea, but we’ll see if it works out.

Once Tara is back at home, she plays some BlicBlock, which is obviously an homage to the game Tetris. Tara is going to have to play all the games and attempt to win tournaments for each, which I have heard is pretty tough, so we’ll see how she does.

The bees have already produced some honey, which will be a good money-making venture for Tara in the future. They are also already pretty comfortable with her, and she has bonded a fair amount.

She goes on another collection run now that the plants have produced and gathers up and plants some of her own. The bees will help with making them high-quality and provide her with some cooking benefits.

This has nothing to do with the challenge, but I found this notification rather humorous. I have a feeling Olive might have met her match with Caleb. He’s not going to be easy for her to kill off.

Tara came home with her first promotion. I plan on finishing this career, if possible, so we get the benefits for our hacking and gaming, and then move into the science career. That’s at least the plan.

We have another couple of items checked off our build and buy list. In her room, we now have the Teen Idol Poster based on Hatsune Miku, a Japanese voice synthesizer, as well as the Henry Puffer poster. This is obviously a reference to Harry Potter. Each gives us +10 points.

We also finally have enough money, thanks promotion, to get the Morphing Pictures set. These pictures are rather large, but they have “spooky” versions, which are apparently similar to TS3. They make me think of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney. That gives us +10 each.

We managed to capture the spooky versions of all the paintings. You can somewhat ignore the last picture, as I thought MAYBE I could shrink them, but no. Anyway, they are kind of fun.

Tara had a day off at the end of the week, so she spent it hunting for frogs. We have had no luck finding the HypnoFrog, nor being able to breed it so far. I checked through the rules, though, and since this is NOT a build/buy item, we will just keep going and take the points when we do get it.

We are going to wrap up week one with another sale. Tara got herself a selling table to start selling her produce, “extra” frogs, honey, and other collectables she has found that we aren’t keeping. With that, Tara finishes week one of this challenge, and she has managed to amass 135 points so far. These will be slowing down now that we have the build/buy items out of the way. We will hopefully be back with another update soon, and I hope to see you there! Thanks for reading!

Boolprop 20: Monster Mash Chapter 8

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter | To Easter Egg

Hello and welcome back to another Monster Mash update! The last time we were with this part of the Cobb family, Meilani turned into a spellcaster, Riley, Veruca, and Victor all reached the top of their respective careers, and we used some mermaid powers. Let’s check in on how things are going now!

To start, we have our updated photo wall. It’s been compacted a bit, and I really like it. I think it looks great. We should get a picture of Meilani practicing some spells to put up on the wall.

Nothing much of interest happened while everyone was at their respective jobs, school, etc, but the hijinks festival is in town, so it’s our chance to practice some mischief.

The family has a good time and talks with many of the other family members who show up and hang around the festival as well.

Violet did finally get her A in elementary school, which is great news. They will be growing up before too long.

Victor has tried out some “mean” mermaid skills, but I haven’t managed to capture photos. He does get checked out by a dolphin though, who decides they like him.

I may not be able to hire help to come to the house, but really, with Bonehilda and Guidry, why would I even need to? I feel like these two just add to the “monsterousness” of this family.

Victor did use some of his powers on this kid, although I’m not entirely sure what he used. I think it was a siren’s song, but I could be wrong.

It’s Winterfest, which always feels wierd to me to suddenly pop up in Sulani. I know tropical places also have Dec 25th in the real world, but it doesn’t feel much like Christmas when there isn’t snow to me. Anyway, the family opens gifts and has a good time.

Father Winter does show up and Violet manages to get another gift out of him.

Just a total normal haunted house. Ghost dog, ghost friend just hanging out enjoying the quiet evening together.

Veruca does spend quite a bit of time with Peanut, and even starts to teach him to play dead.

Guidry remains a very consistently helpful entity in this house. Neither Riely nor Meilani had gotten the chance to repair the laptop (Meilani would have likely been able to repair it with magic), but Guidry took care of it.

Actually, it’s possible this is when Meilani learned Repario. She has been practicing hard, but has only learned 2 spells so far. She needs to head back to the magic realm to pick up some other supplies.

Vincent is the newest sim to get his A in school. Way to go, Vincent! You’ve done well.

Meilani’s newest gig put up more of a challenge than any of the others. She could not enter the penthouse at all. She was able to teleport to the balconies, and she could, occasionally, head in and take care of things she could see through an open door, but it wasn’t easy.

I thought Meilani should have gotten a bonus for managing to cleanse a place she couldn’t even get into! That was a challenge for sure, but not in the way the game meant it to be.

To help Vincent finish up his aspiration, we bought a set of monkey bars. That allowed him to finish up his aspiration!

Meilani started going through a mid-life crisis and wants adventure! That included having a great bike ride, so I bought her a bike and she went out riding. She seemed to enjoy it because she did it a second time immediately.

Violet managed to finish her second aspiration. She did pick up Playtime Captain, but she won’t make progress because it’s the younger twin’s birthday!

Riley made a cake, and first Violet and then Vincent blew out their candles. There wasn’t a ton of fanfare as it happened pretty late in the evening, but Guidry got to be there.

Here are our two after their makeover. Vincent looks SO MUCH like his father, it’s kind of crazy. Violet managed to finish 2 aspirations as a child, which gave her the Physically Gifted and Headstrong traits. She rolled Nosy as her teen trait, and starts with the Beach Life aspiration. That should be easy to complete. Vincent, on the other hand, starts with the City Living aspiration. He adds Good to his traits, and he also finished 2 aspirations, giving him Socially Gifted and Physically Gifted.

Just another totally normal shot of a monster mash haunted house. We’ve got so much spiritual activity, but it’s mostly all positive activity, and it’s been a long time since we had Temperance try and visit.

Totally normal to go sit in the bathroom and do your homework and chat with your twin brother. I ended up removing the playroom and turned that into Vincent’s room, so all the kids have their own room, and there are three total bathrooms. I would really like to reorganize this house soon, maybe give the younger twins a Jack and Jill bathroom as well.

I know Veruca and Victor are our “main” sims, but I also really love Violet and Vincent. I might take them both and use them in another challenge, maybe load them into my rotational hood at some point.

Veruca has finally been able to become companions with Peanut. They have gotten really close, and Veruca is likely to trade off with her dad and brother for taking him for a daily jog.

We need some updated photos of the younger twins, and Violet starts us off with that by taking a selfie. She is really such a pretty sim I think. I just adore her.

It’s New Year’s Eve, so everyone starts to make resolutions. Most involve gaining further skills, because that’s one of the easiest ones to complete. They also celebrate still having the Winterfest decorations up. That’s what I do in real life; they just stay up until New Year’s.

Sulani is such a pretty world, and Violet has already gotten a good start on her aspiration. She got herself a lovely tan (and managed not to burn like poor Veruca did), and she has eaten a coconut.

We wrap up with everyone, including Guidry, watching the countdown to the new year. It’s an exciting time, and we are at the point where it’s time to likely start working towards getting the twins their next lifestate. That will wait for the next update, though, as that feels like the perfect place to end. We should be back soon with more from the entire Cobb family, and I hope to see you then! Thanks for reading!!!

Hello and welcome back to the Monster Mash challenge. Last time with the Cobbs we finally got a real good start on the challenge when our heir and spare became mermaids, their first lifestate. Meilani and Riley worked on their careers, and Meilani even explored the crypts. Ok, let’s dig in!

We are going to start with Veruca spending some time with Peanut. Our best boy dog, who needs to become companions with Veruca (our official heir, even if Victor is going to be right at her side the whole time.)

Violet finally managed a B in school; it seems like she took quite a while to get to that grade. Hopefully, an A won’t be far behind.

Riley is working on his logic skill for his job, which he needs one more level of. He’s one promotion away from the top, I believe, and we could use the extra cash.

I was right, and just like that, Riley is at the top of his career. He’s a Master of Marine Affairs! Way to go, Riley.

Victor finally comes home with an A in school. Veruca got there faster for sure, but Victor is a bit more concerned with mischief than with school. Although I’ve been very lax on working on that again, so he’s not likely to complete it.

It’s the summer holiday, and the family sits around the fire pit, which hasn’t been used in a while, and almost immediately starts a fire that tries to take out Vicnet. Luckily, Meilani is there to put it out.

The family plays with sparklers and fireworks, which, amazingly, in the Sims are MUCH safer than the fire pit. Everyone has a good time during the holiday.

Veruca is up for taking Peanut for a jog. She has been able to adjust the weather once and has obviously called a dolphin. I would like to try and get her someone to give a mermaid kiss too, and certainly we should have Victor at the very least do the mischievous powers as well.

Speaking of Victor, he got his own Azure dolphin friend. Now it’s time to try out the less “friendly” powers of a mermaid.

Meilani takes the youngest twins to the park in Oasis Springs. They needed to work on a few things, and it’s a good place to meet and hang out with kids from the kids club they are in with many of the other cousins.

Both Vincent and Violet manage to complete their respective aspirations. Vincent gets Rambuncious Scamp, like his sister had, and Violet gets Mind and Body next.

I think I failed to mention that the older twins became lifeguards. They are so cute coming back in their matching uniforms. I would think having mermaid lifeguards would be pretty good.

Meilani probably wishes she had the ability to change the weather when she arrived at her current haunted house in a storm. She got through the tasks she needed to and got home as quickly as she could.

For some reason, all 3 boys in the family decided to hang out in shallow water to the side of the house. I still love that each set of twins is a girl and a boy, and they flipped whose coloring they each got.

Both Veruca and Victor come home with promotions. This turns out to be the top promotion already, so they will both just try and get some raises here and there. It’s good for bringing in a little extra cash.

For Meilani, it was finally time to travel back to the magical realm. She had thought about it for a long time, and her out-of-body experience just solidified it for her.

At the main building, she sought out the Sage of Practical Magic and, after chatting with her a bit, asked about becoming a spellcaster. She was sent out on a quest to find motes.

With the new sight granted to her by the sage, Meilani headed out and found motes all over the area. She went through and gathered them up to take back to the sage.

She found her in a different area of the building, or did the building just change around? Meilani wasn’t sure, but she offered the collected motes and hoped for the best.

At first, Meilani wasn’t sure what was happening, and the look on the Sage’s face scared her a bit, but all turned out fine as Meilani started to glow and felt the magic start to flow into her.

Back at home, not a whole lot has changed for the family. Now that Meilani is a spellcaster, the teens have an idea for what they might like to explore next in the plethora of lifestates that exist.

Before that, however, there is still school to get through, homework to be done, and needs to keep in check.

Veruca and Violet have started messing with each other a lot, and both absolutely love it. They laugh and laugh all the time. The rest of the family doesn’t really get it.

It was a super overcast and cloudy day, and Veruca wanted badly to be able to do some sunbathing, so she used her mermaidic powers to change the weather.

Now that the sun was out, Veruca was also able to use some of her siren songs on this kid swimming around. None of it was bad; I don’t honestly remember which song she used, but I think it was inspirational.

Thanks to Veruca, everyone, except the youngest kids, decided to use the time to do some sunbathing. It’s winter, so the weather isn’t always the best in Sulani this time of year, but mermaids are great for that.

Veruca takes the time to try out another mermaid song on this new kid. Again, I don’t fully remember which one she chose, but she really only has the option of the “good” powers; her brother is the evil one.

Meilani is up and working on her spellcasting late at night before work. She is learning a bit and has gotten one spell down at this point. Scruberoo will probably be useful.

That night, Meilani found herself in a very dark apartment cleansing it from the haunting. It wasn’t the worst she’s ever faced, but it was pretty spooky working in such a dark area.

Still, she was able to complete the gig relatively easily and got a nice object. Meilani is also almost fully skilled in the medium skill, which should help out in future gigs. She may be about ready to move to the most difficult gigs.

That, however, feels like the place to end this update. We will be back to this branch of the family soon, and will likely be considering the next lifestate for the eldest twins. We should also be seeing the youngest ones aging up again. Hope to see you then and thanks for reading!
