SimNaNo Update #17

Welcome back to the EPIC Tripp, and to our final SimNaNo 2024 update! It’s crazy to believe that July is already over, and I hope you have enjoyed all these updates for the Tripp’s. Thank you to those of you who have joined me over this month. The last update was very exciting for the family with Corie finally finding a love interest and ending the update with a new girlfriend. We also finished catching the fish we have been working towards, although a single fish is left to get. We also visited cousin Ruth and her son Bradley and hung out with them for a bit. Now, let’s dig into this final SimNaNo post!

When we first load up the family, we are almost immediately met with the update that Steve and Bill are both now full adults. I knew it had to be getting close since Corie is also getting so close to full adulthood herself.

Bonnie is up and ready to make some food for the family, however, Ferdinand (I think) is still out haunting and he decides to make a pizza for the family. I suppose Bonnie doesn’t really need to cook now, but we have her continue anyway.

Ferdinand gets his pizza started and walks away while Bonnie works on some food and then suddenly finds a fire started. For some reason, no one can get to the fire to put it out. The stove is ruined and the cabinet is ruined and both have to be replaced. Luckily no one is hurt, and the undamaged pizza ends up being what the family has for food.

Rene goes to spend some time with Thimble. He looks so sad here as he cuddles up with Thimble for a bit. Thimble really is quite a beloved little hedgehog. I love Thimble too.

Remington is out haunting again and Corie spends some time getting to know him. I hadn’t realized that Corie hadn’t even met Remington yet so that needed to be resolved. She introduces herself, makes sure to give him some treats, and provides lots of attention. After some good playtime, she and Remington are getting closer.

Bonnie heads out to feed the cowplant and get some fresh air. I’m sure the house could still be considered to be smoky due to the recent fire. The garden also needed to be tended just a bit, so that gets taken care of later as well.

Corie decides to send a flirty selfie to Molly. I think it looks really cute and I love the fact we have this interaction now. We don’t really get a response from Molly, but maybe that is normal for this type of interaction.

It is Winterfest for the Tripp family, actually it’s Winterfest Eve and the house gets decorated for the holiday. We have some plans for Winterfest for the family that I’m excited about.

The first thing we do is invite over all the family to hang out for the day. The twins, Ruth, and Bradly are all invited over. Brandly heads out to talk to Bonnie out in the garden while she is tending to the bees. She carries him inside so he doesn’t have to walk that far.

It’s time to decorate the tree, and we can see the mess Brandly made earlier in the background. Bonnie, Rene, and Corie all work together to get ornaments, garland, a topper, and the tree skirt on the tree. It looks really pretty, and they enjoy turning on all the lights.

Corie invited Molly over to join them for Winterfest Eve and the first thing Corie does is to instigate a mistletoe kiss with Molly. She is falling pretty hard and fast for her new girlfriend and I really like these two together. They are really cute.

Bonnie comes over and chats with Molly to get to know her daughter’s new girlfriend. She seems to like Molly well enough, and Molly even pulls a prank on Bonnie, who finds the whole thing hilarious.

It was time for a dance party! Molly was dancing up in the kitchen while Corie and Brandly dance together down in the living room. For a second I thought Molly must be doing some sort of sexy dance, but it seems like it was just normal as she started doing normal moves after that.

Bonnie and Rene share a kiss by the tree. They also enjoy a mistletoe kiss for Winterfest. These two have gotten really close again and it’s really sweet. I have really fallen back in love with these two and their relationship.

Corie decides to start something in the pizza oven. Suddenly the pizza oven has become quite popular and I actually have to actively stop family members from using it. Once it’s done Bonnie pulls it out and serves it up on the counter.

Corie, however, has other plans and is busy asking Molly a very important question. Right in front of the tree she gets down on one knee and proposes. It takes Molly just a couple of seconds to answer yes and slide the ring on her finger. They share a kiss and Corie is so happy to have found her, and so am I.

Corie can barely believe it when Molly leaps into her arms. I do love this interaction and Corie’s face of surprise is so cute. I think these two are going to end up having really cute kids. It will be a lot of fun to follow them.

With the engagement, Corie and Molly end up with a wholesome dynamic just like Rene and Bonnie have. I wonder if they will update to something else eventually, but these two are really cute, so of course we say yes.

Corie wants to update her social media so she and Molly take a couple of cute selfies with each other to give Corie photo options to attach and share with the world about her engagement. I’m not really sure what career I will have Molly take on yet, but I guess we’ll see how it goes, and what she’s interested in.

Pictures secured, Corie spends time updating her social media presence. Molly has to leave to head home and Corie, Bonnie, and Rene head off to a holiday ceremony, even though none of them have a great love of that tradition. (I totally read the traditions wrong and thought they did.)

As Winterfest Eve starts to come to a close we have a couple of new family updates. First Molly is now officially an adult, and Corie is also close to being an adult, so they are close in age like I hoped. Then Bradly actually grows into a child. We will make sure to invite him over for Winterfest next update.

However, with that, I think we are going to call this update complete. Next update we should see Corie and Molly plan their wedding and get married. We also will be able to celebrate Winterfest and I hope we can get Corie another promotion and possibly have Bonnie go get the final fish for our collection. We could also see Corie’s adult birthday and maybe the first new Tripp. Thank you again for reading and following me for SimNaNo (if you did) and I really hope you will join us next time! For now, there will be a small break from updates, but I will be back soon!

SimNaNo Update #16

Hello and welcome back once again to the EPIC Tripp. We are down to the last two updates for SimNaNo, and if you have been following along with me this month, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed all these updates! I will be taking a small break from posting and plan to work on some buildings and stuff, which I should be able to show off in the various future updates I do after this. For now though, let’s get on with this next-to-last SimNaNo update for 2024! Last time we were with the family Corie continued to date and try to find someone to be her partner. We visited the Spice Festival and Rene actually completed the spice challenge, and we spent a lot of time with Thimble. The update ended with Corie getting a promotion at work, putting her around halfway through her career. Let’s dig in!

When we first join back up with the family Bonnie was busy playing with Thimble, who decided to bite her on the nose. Luckily he let go and Bonnie didn’t seem to end up suffering anything terrible from the bite.

Brandly, you might remember, grew up into a toddler last update. That means it’s time for another trip to visit Ruth so we can get to know Brandly as a toddler. So the entire family heads to the house Ruth currently lives in in Evergreen.

Little Brandly is a cutie, even as he makes a bit of a mess. It was, apparently, kind of dark in the building, although I didn’t really notice it being that dark when I was playing. He’s such a cute little kid.

While they are hanging out at Ruth’s place (which really needs a makeover) Corie takes the time to chat with her mom about her new fears of death that came on suddenly. Luckily, now that Bonnie is an elder she can help calm Corie’s fears.

After some time spent with Brandly and Ruth, and ensuring everyone will have the ability to invite them over in the future, it’s time to visit the Oasis Springs park again. When we get there Corie spends her time meeting some additional young adults, and while Corie is not instantly attracted to anyone today, she does have some new people to get to know better.

The real reason we came here though was to check for some of the fish we still need. Bonnie and Rene are back fishing at the small pond at the back of the park, and while I was watching Corie Rene FINALLY caught our Gummie Guppie! Way to go Rene!

After that catch, we send both Bonnie and Rene into the old mine shaft and start fishing in the grotto. Bonnie is finally able to catch the Angler Fish and we have completed the collection according to the team. This isn’t actually true as we have 1 final fish to get. The lunar fish that came with the werewolf pack, but I’ll take it!

Back at home, we put our newest two fish on the wall, along with the plaque, and we now have one last spot, left to fill. This is the first time I’ve managed to get all of these fish in the game, and it has been a lot of work, but I’m so excited to be this close to a complete collection!

Thimble heads out on a new trip and sends us a new postcard from his adventure. Thank you so much Thimble!!! Hope he had a good journey to wherever it was. I think it might have been Brindleton’s lighthouse.

Corie keeps working on her career tasks, working from home most of the time, and doing a bunch of live streaming. She has been spending her time practicing and live streaming the sports game, which has been fun to watch her do.

Of course, Corie always spends time with Thimble and really loves the little guy. He seems to really love Corie as well and enjoys getting treats and attention from her.

Bonnie heads out late at night to take care of the bees. She bonds with them, treats their mites as needed, and sells the honey they have created so far. I need to have her collect the wax as well, but that will happen later. We aren’t really making candles at this point.

Miranda comes out to haunt and decides to kick over our bin. Really Miranda? Last time you were helping us pick up our trash piles, and now you are making them for us? I feel like I need to put some “positive” aura things out in the yard to maybe help the ghosts from being so sad and angry when they first come out.

Bonnie was out using the telescope when a storm blew in. She was trying to get us the last few space sprints that we needed, but instead, the microscope got struck and poor Bonnie got electrified. Sorry Bonnie, hurry back inside!

Rene starts working on cleaning up a bunch of trash, at least some of it was caused because of Miranda knocking over the trashcan earlier. Rene also, for some reason, gets a fear of the dark from cleaning up around the house. Interesting that he got scared, although maybe Bonnie’s electrocution played a role.

Miranda keeps haunting the family and now decides to come in and punch our Bun Bun. Geez Miranda, what has you so angry all the time all of a sudden. It feels like she has been really mad the last couple of times she has haunted us. She isn’t a nice sim anyway, so I guess maybe it makes a little sense, but still. What did Bun Bun ever do to you?

Well Johnny, while I appreciate you trying to mop up the bathroom, the fact the sink is broken is going to make it not a task that will ever be completed. Johnny is also angry, but he didn’t break the sink, so maybe he’s mad that the sink got broken to begin with.

It’s GeekCon today, and the family, including the twins, head into the city to participate. Corie doesn’t end up doing much at GeekCon directly but busies herself meeting additional young adults who came to the festival.

Molly Prescott shows up at GeekCon and Corie realizes that while, when she met her at the park, there wasn’t much attraction, there now is. They chat for a bit, and the more that Corie gets to know about Molly the more she likes her. We may have a match on our hands, but we’ve had such bad luck I’m a little nervous. We take the chance and ask if Molly would be up for a date.

She says yes and we head back to Sulani and the bar on the main island. It’s storming there but that’s ok, they are inside and starting to chat and get to know each other more. Molly has some things that allow Corie to find her attractive, but Molly, so far, finds us only neutral attraction, but that’s ok.

After chatting for a while it’s time to get a drink. Luckily we can order drinks at a bar for the whole group, too bad you can’t do that at a cafe. It would be really nice to be able to order food or drinks for your date at a place like that.

Once they were served a drink Corie wanted to make sure that Molly had her phone number and sent it off. Molly got it and looked rather lovingly at her phone and blew a little kiss to it.

Corie had the wish to give Molly a romantic gift, so she grabbed a rose and handed it to Molly as a gift. Molly really liked the gift, which was good news, since that isn’t always the way it goes.

The flirting, whispering desires to each other, and affection are all going really well. This is the easiest, and best date, that Corie has ever been on. Her mischief tendencies also seem to be enjoyable to Molly.

Good enough that Corie goes in for her first-ever kiss and Molly gladly reciprocates. This is it! They have good compatibility, and there is attraction, at least on Corie’s side. Molly still doesn’t really feel one way or the other about Corie.

After sharing their first kiss, the girls decide to play some darts for most of the rest of their date. It’s been such a good date, and while neither one chooses to ask to extend it, it was so nice to see Corie finally have a good time.

The date officially ends and Corie takes the chance to ask Molly to be her girlfriend. Molly gives an enthusiastic yes, and just like that, Corie officially has a girlfriend!! Way to go Corie!

Corie heads home feeling almost like she is floating and heads straight to bed. It was a late night and Corie fell asleep rather quickly after putting the most adorable picture of her and Molly on her bedstand. It’s such a cute date gift!

That, however, feels like the perfect place to wrap up this update. Corie finally has a girlfriend, and next update we will see how it progresses and if any other progress is made on any of the other goals we have set out for this generation. I hope to see you then, and thank you so much for reading!

SimNaNo Update #15

Hello and welcome back to the EPIC Tripp! Last time we were with the family we were trying to find Corie a love interest and working on a bunch of the new dating features of the game that came with the new Lovestruck pack. The family also celebrated Harvestfest, and Bonnie and Rene found themselves coming back together in a romantic way.

When we rejoin the family Corie is out feeding Ferdinand. Thankfully we have not had any additional issues with the cowplant eating anyone else in the family, and they are keeping him well fed.

Corie makes another pick on Cupid’s Corner and arranges a date. The date goes all right but at the end, they end the date amicably, and ultimately uninterested in each other. Corie doesn’t find her attractive.

Now that things are back on more sure footing with these two, Rene and Bonnie spend a lot more time doing this sort of interaction autonomously. We have been focused on Corie so much recently they have mostly been left to their own devices, and certainly take advantage of it.

Bonnie goes and provides little Thimble a treat. They aren’t as close as Thimble and Corie, but Thimble is loved by the whole family. Bonnie ends up chatting to Thimble about his space attempts. Maybe he’ll make it and bring back something for us since I believe he can bring back something.

Corie and Rene head into the dining room to play a little bit of the new game included in Lovestruck. They, of course, play the tame, none woohoo version of the game. It seems a bit like the standard ‘What Am I’ game, but all about emotions.

It was time for the spice festival. We invited Bill and Steve to join us in downtown Mychuno at the square. Once we get there everyone tries out the spice challenge. Corie and Bonnie do not make it through the challenge, spewing fire. Corie heads around the festival and tries to meet most of the young adults that are in attendance.

Rene surprises me by actually managing to win the spice challenge! This is pretty impressive to me because I didn’t expect anyone in the family to really make it through the challenge. Rene now has a fun spicy shirt he can wear.

Corie meets a couple of new YAs and while neither of them is the most interesting initially to Corie she does chat with them and star gaze with the one of them. They hit it off decently well, but once again, at least with the one she spent a lot of time with, there is no attraction there.

Apparently, we have a very sad ghost epidemic today. I believe these are the ghosts of Johnny and Zygo, although I could be wrong. Either way, they make their way sadly for the house and wander around it, nearly in sync, for a good portion of the night.

Miranda is also out haunting and for once she is doing something a little bit useful. First, she actually picks up the trash that was spread all over from the bin being knocked over. After that, she goes and uses the pizza oven to make something. Thank you, Miranda, very helpful.

Corie heads to the new world of Ciudad Enamorada and visits the fountain, where she wishes for love. We get a message about how maybe love has already found her and nothing more happens. I wonder if that really does do anything specific sometimes, or if it’s just a note.

Corie heads to the bar on the other side of town. It happens to also be fight day today. She gets into a fight with one of the young adults in the club, and Corie wins. Later she fought her brother and also won that fight.

Corie ends up with a quirk after the fights, and now she has no desire to be touched by anyone other than family or significant others. I have never actually had this particular quirk before, so it’s going to be interesting to see how it goes.

Corie spends a bit more time at the club meeting multiple other eligible young adults. Corie did, at one point, ask the blonde on a date but it did not turn out well. I don’t know if Corie is just extremely picky, although she has many turn-ons and turn-offs, or if the singles available are just not matching up.

When Corie gets home we find Bonnie running away on the treadmill, and she is getting tired. She wraps up her run and I almost immediately have her go rest since she really shouldn’t be pushing herself too hard anymore. I have also apparently not moved the clock.

Downstairs Bonnie and Rene both grab some dinner from the fridge and apparently decide the best place to eat it is right in front of the fridge. I’m not sure why they didn’t go sit down to eat, but as long as they are happy.

Since we had not tended the garden for most of the day Rene heads out to take care of it in the dark of the night. He whistles away while he works and takes care of all the plants, and harvests everything, including the money trees.

Later that evening Kiana comes out and does some laundry. Luckily I think I had recently changed the water in the tub so they wouldn’t be super dirty clothing. It is nice that the ghosts help out like this sometimes.

It’s a good thing that Corie has Thimble at home right now. Poor girl is having no luck in love, but at least she always has her Thimble at home waiting for her. He’s such a cute little thing.

Corie located one of the young adults she had met before on Cupid’s Corner and realized that he might match with her. She sets up a date at the karaoke bar in San Mychuno and they chat and talk, but do not hit it off at all. Corie ends the date abruptly.

After the date ended Corie started introducing herself to additional people at the bar. Two of them Corie found herself instantly attracted to. She gets to know Rita and bit more, and suddenly finds herself unattracted to her.

With Rita no longer an interest she instead asks Renee to go on a date with her to the lounge, I believe, in Ciuada. They spend some time getting to know each other and then Corie determines that she is no longer attracted to Renee either. They end the date amicably and Corie heads back home again.

Back at home, Remmington has come out to haunt. Rene goes and plays with him a bit before picking him up and snuggling him. I really want to be able to invite Remmington back into the family sometime.

Bonnie and Corie both head out into the garden. Bonnie harvests some of the plants while Corie takes care of the bees. They are remaining pretty calm and we are having to sell a fair amount of honey they have been producing. At least the bees don’t attack Corie as much anymore.

While she was out in the garden Corie got the notice that she got a promotion. She is now a Niche Broadcaster which brings her one step closer to the top of her career. I believe this promotion puts her at level 6.

I think that leaves us at a good place to wrap up this post. Corie is about halfway through her young adult years, and I really expected she would find someone by now, but so far has not had that kind of luck. Hopefully, we can get her someone soon. Thank you for reading, and with SimNaNo nearly over we have a couple of posts left. I hope that you join us for the next update!

SimNaNo Post #14

Hello and welcome back to the EPIC Tripp!! We are down to our last 4 SimNaNo updates, and we also are posting this update later than planned so we can play with the new Lovestruck pack! Last time with the family we celebrated Spook Day, we did a lot of fishing trying to catch the last fish we needed, Corie worked at her job, and we got a new pizza oven. Let’s dig into this update!

When we first check in with the family, Rene is mixing up a drink and decides that he likes mixology. We say yes to this, because why not?

Corie has managed to get close to the bees and no longer gets stuck often. She is also sometimes able to send out the bees to collect gifts.

She also ensures to take care of Thimble. You can see Thimble has brought us 3 postcards, and between some penpals and the bees we have another 8 postcards on the board.

Our clothesline was bugged out so we replaced it and then immediately had Rene upgrade it. I really need Corie’s spouse to like handiness, Rene won’t be around forever.

Thimble is once again tinkering with rocket mechanics and I wonder if he’ll ever manage to make it.

Corie is not getting any younger and neither are her parents, so with the new Cupid’s Corner app installed on her phone, Corie opens it up and starts a profile.

She scrolls through the listings on Cupid’s Corner, and while no one immediately catches her eye, she will keep an eye on it.

Instead, Corie takes the opportunity to go on a blind date. This is Megan and they meet up at the bar on the main island of Sulani.

The date seemed like it was going well, but I left Corie to her own devices, and even some directed by me, Megan didn’t enjoy our mischief. She ended the date without a lot of warning.

During the date, we got an update that let us know little cousin Brandly grew up into a toddler. We’ll have to make a trip to visit Ruth again soon.

We started up another blind date with Corie, and this time we got a blue-skinned Gloria as our date.

We started up a game of darts with Gloria and played for a bit before grabbing some drinks and chatting with the bartender, who Corie is not attracted to.

I had to chase Gloria down to the back where a computer was, which is a nice difference from Megan since she didn’t like techie sims.

While we were grabbing another drink Gloria sat down at the table and started thinking about this lady and threw up a bunch of hearts. I considered this to be a sign.

Sure enough soon after, even though we performed a single mischief interaction, Gloria ended the date. That’s all right, they did ok, but it wasn’t that exciting.

Two failed dates and Corie decided to head home and tell the tales to Thimble and Patchy. They both listened to Corie’s stories.

Then, even though she wasn’t really upset about the dates, Corie decided to use her dates as a subject for a recorded rant.

Meanwhile out in the pool, Bonnie has been making laps in our slightly redesigned pool that is now curved on one end, and the family finally updated their deck chairs.

Then Bonnie got a phone call, which was rather funny to me. I guess this must be new from the pack. We politely tell the caller that it was sweet but we weren’t interested.

Corie checked the dating app and found someone she was interested in and we sent her on a new date. Things go ok for a while, but he also ends it after a single mischievous interaction. Corie needs to hold in her mischievousness on dates. She talked to some other people for a bit before heading home.

The gnome coalition is back in the living room, and that can only mean one thing. It’s Harvestfest again for the family.

It’s early in the morning and Bonnie stomped out with a pile of clothes and decided to do some laundry in the super dirty water. I have to remember to replace this water much more often.

Corie heads out to tend the garden for the day, and apparently, the gnome coalition moves out to the garden for their garden inspection, or whatever they do in the garden.

Bonnie goes and talks to Rene about her fears of being cheated on, and then the two head out to spend some time on the new blanket I sat down near their pool. They snuggle and watch the sky, it’s really cute.

Rene and Bonnie get our first romantic dynamic and they get the wholesome. This actually is probably not completely true for them, but in their elder years, they have spent a lot more time being romantic together.

Thimble gets some love and attention for Harvestfest and then Corie goes and gets some work done for the day.

Bonnie is in the house after sitting by the pool with her husband for a while and starts cooking the grand meal for Harvestfest. Once she’s done everyone is called to the meal and they all decide to eat in the living room today.

Corie heads back to the bar and ends up going over and chatting with Vlad for a while. Did he join the detective career or law enforcement?

Apparently, regardless of his job, or the outfit Vlad is wearing, he is an idealist and Corie enjoys meeting and chatting with Vald. Corie, no, I refuse to have you date Vlad!

Corie was at the bar because she found a new person on Cupid’s Corner to date, and I do not remember this girl’s name, but they sit down and start getting to know each other.

Corie asks her date about her attraction level and when she discovers that she is unattractive to her date they call the date complete. It was a positive end to the date, neither wanting to keep it going longer than it needed to. They were compatible as friends though, and gave a big hug as they said goodbye.

When Corie gets home she heads to bed, but Bonnie and Rene are going to be busy tonight. They are rebuilding their relationship and spend time back out star gazing and snuggling on the blanket. I can imagine the stars on the island are beautiful. Eventually, they head in and have a pillow fight before snuggling down into bed.

Bonnie and Rene suddenly find themselves having a close family dynamic, which of course we said yes to. Bonnie may be evil, but she does love her husband, even if they had a rough patch there for a while.

That will be our call to close this update for now. Hopefully the next update Corie can have better luck in meeting her match. It’s been rough for her, and we might be taking her to a singles club. It’s been fun to use Corie to try out the new pack and I hope you join me next update!

SimNaNo Update #9

Hello and welcome once again to the EPIC Tripp! Last time we were with the family we worked on collections, met baby Bradley, and ended with a trip to the romance festival, which found Bonnie and Rene nearly breaking up their marriage. Let’s see what this update brings!

We are going to start things off with Thimble the second trying to get himself into space. He was not active for a really long time, and now he’s been very active.

Hello Belle, thank you for helping clean up all the dishes in this house. There are just oh so many! Even with there now only being 3 sims living here, the ghosts leave things out too.

Bonnie’s morning after the festival starts off slowly and quietly. Getting ready for the day, feeding Thimble, eating some breakfast alone. I’m sure she is deep in her own thoughts right now.

Corie has a much more exciting day, as she decided to go try and eat the cowplant cake instead of just eating all the food stocked in the fridge, and while she is fine, she then had to go make herself some food and talk to her mom a bit.

Spooky day arrives and finds Rene either up late the day before or up early the day of to rummage around and get decorations on the house. Wish I was that easy in real life to get things up on tall roof areas.

Bonnie and Rene pick out a couple of costumes (I got myself a mod that allows for more costumes because I was tired of all the same boring choices) and stand around to talk for a bit, in the bathroom of course.

Corie’s attempt at eating the cake caused her to gain a fear of the cowplant, which apparently means a fear of ALL plants now. I don’t remember ever not being able to tend a garden when you are fearful of a cowplant.

So instead she works on her career in her own little costume. There are still no sims that are really catching Corie’s eyes, and of the people she met at the festival, only one has good compatibility (and I’m not sure I really like them.)

I decided to take the family to a scary movie for spooky day, thought that could be fun. So off to the theater they went in their costumes for the day.

Where literally all of them ended up disliking the movie. They were, seriously, all unfazed by the movie. I have never had a group of sims feel the exact same way about any movie before. This was pretty funny to me.

Afterwards, I decided to send the family to a lounge (or bar or something) to allow Corie to check in there and try to meet some more people. Sadly it was mostly empty and the sims who were there were mostly elder sims.

Corie did, however, discover that she likes funny Sims. Maybe that will cause someone to catch her eye a bit more, I haven’t felt drawn to anyone for Corie yet and she is almost all the way through her YA years already.

Our boy Thimble is back at it again with some more space experiments! He is going to reach space before too long, we also found another postcard in our inventory thanks to him.

Rene and Bonnie have spent more time apart than together lately, which might be good to let sentiments cool. Rene tries to do some fishing and while he is unsuccessful it’s still good for his skills.

Corie attempts to get over her cowplant fear by milking Ferdinand, but sadly it doesn’t work. She still has the fear, but now also has her confident essence.

Corie may be feeling a bit more about her parent’s problems than she is really letting on, choosing to talk mostly to Thimble, Pathcy, and the garden plants and bees. Thimble, at least, is a good listener.

Rene continued to stay in his costume for quite a while, I’m rather surprised it took him so long to change, but he hadn’t really slept. Instead, he kept busy repairing the plumbing and upgrading things.

Bonnie, on the other hand, apparently took her feelings out by hand scrubbing the laundry. Sounds like a tedious and exhausting job, but maybe that’s what she wanted.

Rene takes over caring for the cowplant, and I needed Corie in the garden so she got a fear be gone and can now help in the garden again. This garden is too big for Rene alone.

Corie managed, however, despite all the things happening, to get a promotion. She’s slowly climbing in her career and I feel like it’s really time to buckle down and find her a match.

But first Bonnie heads over to Moonwood Mills in search of a missing fish. It’s not really near a full moon, so I didn’t expect much, and she didn’t catch the missing fish, but it was fun to try. I haven’t spent much time in this world.

Rebate day arrives and I decided to buy the family a pizza oven. I feel like that would be something we might have at this point, with the computers and stuff, although still no smoke detectors.

Corie can now stream games, and since she needs many more followers to get to her next promotion I have her sit and stream a sports game. She plays for quite a while to let her follower count trend upwards.

Then I get this notice. I was flipping back and forth between watching Bonnie fish and Corie stream and wouldn’t you know it, as soon as my eye was on Corie, Bonnie caught our final Island Living fish! We of course keep this one because we need the full collection on our wall!

Corie still has a fear of ghosts, and I was not paying enough attention to the fact Corie has to win her fight and she ends up fighting Lara, who was our sports sims. Corie lost handily, but we’ll try again, probably with Miranda, since she scared us.

Bonnie has heard of some other fish that may hang out in a place known as the glade. She knows where people claim it to be, but had never seen it. She heads to Willow Creek to check out the tree everyone talks about. She’s there quite a while before she finally sees the opening.

Bonnie emerges into a beautiful area with a pink hue and takes some time fishing at the pond at the back. Sadly, all she gets are fish she has already been catching, nothing special, and Bonnie heads back home a bit disappointed.

Corie may not have won the fight against Lara, but she appears to have a bit of new confidence in herself when she works on her career tasks. None of them are hard, but finding just the right words can be difficult to do!

She is also feeling confident enough to go out and feed Ferdinand again. She still has a fear of ghosts but the cowplant fear is far enough behind her she doesn’t mind being around him anymore.

I think that is where we will leave this update. It’s a slightly shorter chapter, but I had a very busy weekend so I didn’t have as much time to play as I would have liked, and needed to get this post out. So I hope to see you next update, and thanks for reading!

SimNaNo Update #8

Welcome back to the EPIC Tripp! We are halfway through SimNaNo already and we are well on our way with our goals! I hope you have been enjoying the updates! Last update we worked on a lot of collections, Bonnie and Rene both retired, Corie got her first promotion and that was about it. Let’s dig in!

We start with Corie working on some work tasks. She is getting close to the next promotion already.

Corie has decided that she is materialistic. This actually kind of makes sense, so we go ahead and say yes.

Rene has been pranked by Bonnie and she did such a great job Rene decided he liked it!

Corie tried to get a new Sugar Skull and got yelled at. She spent a bit more time with her and was able to ask again. This time she got it, but we already had the one she gave us. We’ll have to try again.

It’s a bit of a gloomy day when the family heads over to the place Ruth is staying. We are going to meet Bradley.

Both Corie and Bonnie get introduced to Bradley. Bonnie is such a natural with little kids and she is going to make a great grandma! I’m excited to see how Bradley grows up.

Bonnie is back to fishing, but this time she gets checked out by a dolphin. I’m not sure the dolphin liked her. It’s raining as we try to catch our last fish, but once again, no luck.

Corie and Rene spent some time chatting on the beach while Bonnie was out fishing. They talked in the rain for a bit before they both head home.

Bonnie changes to a different deep water area and tries again, but still no luck. I’m so bummed I haven’t been able to catch these last fish, but she is getting a lot of fish to use for bait.

Rene spends his evening going to work on some additional space prints. We don’t need that many more, and even though he is lazy he doesn’t need to sleep as much, I gave him one of the less sleep traits.

Our little Thimble has suddenly started getting updates again. Apparently, he was throwing quite the rave in his little enclosure.

Remington is out haunting and running around tonight. I sent Rene to try and talk to him a bit more, I would really like to have a cat again, and a ghost will give us a second occult type.

Miranda gathers up and puts the laundry in the washer. Thanks, Miranda! That was super helpful of you.

Then Miranda decided to go and scare poor Corie. That was NOT so helpful Miranda! Maybe we’ll have Corie fight Miranda for her fear.

Bonnie tries sending the bees out for gifts and while she gets some good ones, none of them bring back a Jet. They did, however, bring a Literite, which I had before but pretty sure Zygo spent it at work. So that was useful!

You gotta love the randomness of this game sometimes. I guess it’s at least not a plate, but I’m going to choose to believe that Rene added a “prize” mushroom to the trophy case as his accomplishment, next to Bonnie’s trophy.

A beautiful day in Sulani finds Bonnie back out spearfishing and fishing from the boat to try and catch our final fish, and we remain fishless (well at least the fish we desire.)

This Thimble apparently did not want to be left out of the fame, and he is now helping medical research. I find it funny I mentioned last update we hadn’t had anything like this, and suddenly we get two.

Corie is the person most responsible for Thimble and the one that handles most of his care, but Rene didn’t want her to lose another Thimble and thus got him an anti-aging treat.

Rene keeps himself busy in his elder years and even occasionally does some manual laundry. At least he’s hanging it out on a really nice day. I had even remembered to replace the water by this point.

Corie has been enjoying her adulthood without needing to worry about romance. I am likely going to have to find her a partner before the Lovestruck pack comes out, but hopefully, I’ll pick someone good.

Corie usually takes one of the computers for work things, she’s having trouble gaining a lot of followers yet, and I feel like I need to change up how she is building them.

Bonnie heads out to fish again, and we actually get a swordfish!! It’s amazing that we finally got one! Now we need the royal saberfish and we will be finished with the fish in and around island living.

Rene continues to stay busy taking care of the cowplant and fixing the various plumbing items the ghosts break every night. He is at the point where he can do a quick upgrade on things, which he will start using.

Corie spends a good portion of her time in the garden, and doing more and more of the cooking to get her skill up. She’s getting pretty good already and with all the fresh ingredients from the garden, there is always lots of fresh food.

Bonnie surprises me one day when she heads over and picks up her mother’s guitar and starts to play. She quickly decides she likes it!

Corie likes to play pranks, and when prank day comes around she has a good time with the pranks on her family. She also needed to prank people for her work tasks, so it was a good day for Corie.

The family heads out to Henford-on-Bagley to check if any new mushrooms had grown and to see if we can meet any people that might be interesting for Corie to get to know. She did attempt to flirt a bit with Kevin, but they didn’t hit it off very much.

We got invited to the Romance Festival and I go ahead and send the family. Corie greets and talks to as many young adults as she can at the festival. While I am busy watching Corie I start noticing negative hearts flying in the background.

Taking a quick moment to check Rene and Bonnie have a full negative romance bar, apparently, they were flirting with other people in front of the other and it really affected them both. Well, this is an interesting development.

Right after that Bonnie and Rene suddenly start joking flirtingly and before long they are jokesters again.

They spend the rest of the night sitting next to each other and joking and flirting with each other. I directed a couple of them, but for the most part, this was all them. By the time the festival was over they were back to an almost completely blank romance bar. These two, they are kind of silly.

That is where we are going to leave the family for today. We will have to see what becomes of Bonnie and Rene’s relationship next update. Hopefully one of the people Corie met tonight will be a good fit for her. Hopefully, we will see you next time!

SimNaNo Update #7

Welcome back to the Tripp’s and our 7th SimNaNo post. I have about 10 posts left that are supposed to be posted, we’ll see if it happens. Last update we spent most of the time following Bonnie around fishing and Corie got a small start in Social Media. Let’s review the requirements for this generation.

Generation 7b – Creative Thinking

  • Heir(ess) must choose between Critics, Social Media, or Writing/Author career. Spouse may work in the field not chosen by the heir(ess), or any other previously unlocked profession.
  • Once the heir(ess) reaches level 10 in the chosen career, the one room per sim restriction is lifted.

So obviously we started in the critic career, but do not yet have a spouse yet to join a different career. Let’s get started in this update, last one was a bit short, but I hope this one will be a bit longer.

We join the family to find Rene getting abducted by aliens again. I am once again happy he’s an elder and won’t get pregnant.

Rene and Corie spend some time eating breakfast together. Corie will be heading to graduation today or tomorrow. Since she is valedictorian I’m hoping she will be able to give her speech.

Apparently, Rene was having a fear of some kind, although I don’t fully remember and Bonnie is going to comfort him.

The graduation does occur and we do mostly have a successful one! Corie was able to get up and give her speech, but I think the lot really needs to be updated, cause I keep forgetting it’s still BG.

Corie is in charge of the garden now, so she heads out to tend it and decides she likes gardening. That’s good, there is a LOT of gardening to do. We do need to go find the rest of the mushrooms from Henford.

Bonnie got herself a tan at some point and heads off to a different area of Sulani to try and fish in the deep water. She doesn’t get any of the fish we are looking for yet.

Corie decides that she is now cheerful, and I go ahead and say sure. You can be an evil, mean, cheerful sim. What a combo.

The house continues to be a mess, but at least Corie isn’t a slob like her dad, wait, he’s not a slob, just lazy. I had that wrong. Either way, maybe she’ll get neat at some point.

I am actually semi-surprised that the original cowplant died. This family is typically great at taking care of them, and Rene makes sure Ferdinand is fed. I must have kept everyone too busy.

In a house this size and with as many ghosts as we now have, there is always something to do. Either something to fix, something to harvest, something to clean, cook, you name it.

Rene FINALLY gets his last promotion!! He has maxed the Botanist career and gets one of the microscope prints for his trouble. Thanks, we go ahead and sell that baby as we already have all the prints.

Oh Sims, what did you do to career outfits. This is Corie’s social media outfit, and my gosh is it bad. Why would you go to work like this, why? I don’t care if you are an influencer, that’s actually worse because no influencer would do this to themselves.

Bonnie starts celebrating Fireworks Day with a fancy slide on the slip-n-slide. This family loves this thing, and I really never use it anywhere else.

We updated the family’s pool a bit, and I think their little custom waterfall works SO WELL. I also added a diving platform, which both Rene and Bonnie take full advantage of. Bonnie does much better than Rene though.

Everyone heads to work and the turtle banners are placed up near the house. I never remember seeing these on this island before. Nothing ever really happens, no notices or anything, and then they disappear.

Corie comes home with a promotion, which was the branching promotion which she takes the internet personality route. This work outfit is SO MUCH better. Thank you game for at least giving some good outfits.

Suddenly a random group of sims walks past my lot, twice. I’m not really sure what is happening over there but the group of people make quite the trail on the beach. This game can be so random.

Now that he has maxed his career it’s time for Rene to retire and enjoy his remaining elder years. I actually did give him a youth potion because he was near death and Bonnie isn’t even an elder yet.

Although speaking of, it is Bonnie’s birthday and she will join her husband in elderhood. She’s very fit and will probably still live quite a bit longer than Rene. The boys were invited over to celebrate.

Bonnie is still a lovely sim and she still holds a deep tan from living on the island and sunbathing recently. She is a beautiful sim, and I love her.

Since it’s also a holiday Bonnie and the family head out to light fireworks. They watch some pretty blue ones, a fun plumbob one, and a little spinner that I didn’t take a picture of.

Thimble is still here, and Corie takes good care of the little guy. So far this Thimble has not had any desire to travel or do much, our last Thimble was quite well known.

I spied one of the ghosts, I feel like this is Francis but I’m not 100% sure of that, out playing with the cowplant. This is the only family I have that seems truly invested in their cowplant.

You may remember from the last update that our cousin Ruth (Bonnie’s older brother’s kid) was pregnant, and now she has given birth to a little boy named Bradley.

With Bonnie already well through her career, and multiple raises it’s time for her to retire. She can spend her days fishing, although she has the workaholic lifestyle, so that’s going to be tough for her for a bit.

Don’t worry Bonnie I’ll keep you busy working on collections.

Bonnie: It’s not the same!!!!

I know, but it’s got ‘work’ in it.

Bonnie: Growing tense already, I can feel it!

So we sent her out fishing. We CANNOT get these last 2 island living fish. I know they exist in deep water, and I know at least one needs bait, cannot catch either one, so frustrating.

Corie and Rene share a conversation and while Corie ends up liking deep thoughts because of it, they end up with a strict dynamic. I don’t see that often with teens, but you know what, I’m ok with it. She’s taken over HIS garden, so I’m sure he is a bit of a sticker.

They chat for a bit longer before heading out into said garden, and Rene tries to get a new sugar skull for us, which does not happen. Why are these things SO HARD to get? (Not actually complaining, I think the challenge is a bit fun.)

I was really excited at first, seeing Bonnie struggle with this fish, but then it turned out to be a bluefin tuna that we already had, so I had her throw it back.

Oh Bonnie, no, no you are NOT having more kids. You can’t even have more kids. We’ll have Corie have kids before too long and you can be a wonderfully evil grandma.

After fishing Bonnie talked to this fish poacher. Actually, she yelled at him, but he yelled back and I really wish I had a spare voodoo doll to tie to him, Bonnie would have had some fun.

Corie is afraid of ghosts, and I really hate that she has to fight a ghost to get rid of it, although being evil it kind of works. For now, though she meets Lara, while Johnny is just back there stealing our food.

The couple that fixes together stays together I guess. I found it very funny Rene started fixing the washer and Bonnie went in and just started fixing the toilet. Thank you ghosts.

In an effort to try and catch the elusive fish, we try a different fishing spot, but Rene tags along and uses the jetski. Seems like he is having a LOT of fun.

He starts to fish after a bit and meanwhile, I have Bonnie attempting to spearfish. She sees large fish but can’t spear anything larger than a guppy so far. I think I forgot to buy her some extra gear.

Ruth’s half-brother calls Bonnie to ask if she should go on a date. Of course Malakai, you should go date and find someone for yourself!

Rene is out tending to the bees and collecting them and sends them out for gifts. One set of them comes back with Amber, that’s one of our last needed crystals. We only need 1 more, Jet, now!! Way to go bees!

Ruth’s baby, Bradley, had grown up into a cute little infant. We will visit them next update, I think. I want to make sure everyone knows him.

We managed, one evening to pick up multiple missing space prints. We are down to needing 5 more I think. The moon pictures really added more to it, but it’s been fun seeing all these prints. With that, I feel like it’s a good time to end this update and we will be back again soon!

SimNaNo Update #5

Welcome back to the Tripp’s and we are finally at generation 7!! Last update we got all the way through Corie’s birthday into YA and she is ready to take over the challenge. Let’s take a look at the goals for this generation.

So Corie is going to go into the social media career I decided, as an internet personality. It feels a bit like her, or at least more so than the critic and writer, although critic COULD have been fun. I am looking forward to that room restriction being lifted. Let’s dig in!

We start right after the party ends with a trip. We are taking a vacation to Granite Falls, where they rent this larger cabin, although they won’t spend a bunch of time here.

Bonnie spends the evening mixing up some mac and cheese and singing at the stove. Meanwhile, Corie and Rene rest in other rooms. I’m not sure why it appears this cabin uses the island cabinets, or maybe it’s just the way the stove is set?

Corie and Rene woke up and ate some crumpets, or dainishes of some kind for breakfast. It’s a gloomy morning in Granite Falls, but that isn’t going to stop us.

Rene and Bonnie head out, and thankfully had cleared up and the sun was shining. It’s time to fish and since Rene now also has the fishing aspiration we send them both. Bonnie tries really hard to get the “big catch.”

Bonnie decides to take a break from fishing and go for a hike. I’m not entirely sure where she is going to hike, but she can do what she wants. Her generation is technically over, I’ll just be using her to try and get collectables.

Our heiress, meanwhile, is taking a selfie for her social media account in the bathroom. Why she did it in the tiny bathroom is the question. Although she is a sim, and they love bathrooms.

After getting the “right” picture she works on some charisma for a bit. She has not officially joined the career yet, but will soon.

Bonnie stops her hike to grab a glass of water from the random sink. I assume it’s meant to be like a water fountain, but since we don’t have those in the sims this works.

Bonnie went to the national park and started fishing, where she managed to get a rainbow fish, but the family already has one of those, so we don’t currently need it.

Bonnie takes the path to find her way into the deep woods and meets the hermit there, who in this case is a woman. It took her a bit to get through, I couldn’t remember all the options.

This area is really pretty, especially with the big moon rising over the horizon. Rene and Corie are brought here as well and Rene and Bonnie start fishing. Bonnie doesn’t need to eat or sleep as much anymore, so she’ll work on this while the others do whatever they want.

Rene, Bonnie, and the hermit stand around through most of the night working on fishing. Rene doesn’t have a high fishing level so he isn’t really able to catch anything in this area of the world.

Bonnie manages to pull up a Mountain Lionfish, one of the fishes we were looking for. It took a while, but we are making a bit more progress!

Rene decided to go roast some marshmallows by the fire to relax for the rest of his evening and then he needed some sleep. I can’t remember if he naps on the logs or if he goes to the hermit’s house.

Bonnie continues to fish and catches yet another Lionfish and manages to get the blue crawdad we were looking for. Bonnie wraps up her fishing and it’s nearly time to head home.

Rene and Corie hang out together a little bit and then we head home from the vacation. Although our first stop is not home, we are on a fishing hunt.

Our first stop is Forgotten Hollow where we try and fish up the vampire squid. We do not manage to catch anything we were looking for.

Corie decides to go play chess with this little girl while her mom continues to fish for a bit longer. I don’t think I have realized how pretty it actually is around here, in its own way.

We are finally back at home and Bonnie and Rene are still quite attracted to each other. They have been so busy there hasn’t been much time for them just to spend together.

It’s been a bit of time since they were home, so Corie makes sure to go check on the cowplant, and bond with all the bees, and give mite treatments where required.

We get a couple family updates. Bill is moving into a penthouse in the world. Then we find that Ruth is now pregnant. I thought I had her flagged so that couldn’t happen but I guess not.

Corie makes sure to make some time for Thimble. We haven’t had many Thimble updates recently, but they haven’t been home that much this update so far.

Now that they are not the focus of this challenge Bonnie and Rene seem to find themselves coming together a lot more often. They better not have an accidental pregnancy. Bonnie is close to being an elder, but she isn’t one yet.

Lindsey comes out to haunt and gather up our laundry, sadly. Why are you so sad Lindsey?

Corie is determined to not let Ferdinand go hungry and die like I allowed to happen to Cornelius.

All Tripps: Oh sure, he dies and now you can remember his name!

I’m sorry guys, I really am sorry!

Since Corie doesn’t have a regular job she travels with her mom to Oasis Springs. While there a kid decides to share some gossip or a secret or something.

Bonnie heads to the fishing spot and after a short time, she manages to catch her goal for this spot, the piranha. We are getting closer and closer to finishing up the fish.

Bonnie heads into the grotto and manages to quickly catch the vampire squid. I guess she didn’t need to go to Forgotten Hollow for it after all!

Bonnie still wants to get another fish here and uses up all the ‘bait’ fish she had for the purpose and gets nothing. She did, however, complete her aspiration.

She then almost immediately completes the fabulously wealthy aspiration, which I wasn’t even thinking of when I gave it to her. She gets a new aspiration that she did not finish.

Bonnie gave it a little more time to see if she could get lucky but didn’t manage to get any of the fish that we were searching for.

Bonnie and Corie come home where Bonnie mounts the newest fish and adds them to the wall. I believe we have 5 fish left to catch, two of which we have to get in Sulani, as far as I know, out in deep water, but we are close.

That is going to wrap up this update as that feels like a good place to end. I know it’s a bit shorter, but next update we will get Corie’s graduation and really start focusing on her so I hope to see you then!

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business Wrap

Post 6.13 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 7.01

SimNaNo Update #3

So it is FINALLY time for a new wrap-up!! I feel like we have been playing this generation forever, and I looked back and found we started this generation in Nov 2020, so it’s been basically 3 1/2 years. I am using this family as my main SimNaNo family to try and get us a good start on the 7th generation, as I’m ready to go!

As a generation review, Bonnie went into business and took the management track and did a great job getting it done as quickly as she did. That unlocked computers for us. Rene went into the botanist track of gardening (which is the track that Kiana didn’t do way back in gen 1.) He has not finished his career but is very close (one final promotion.)

Now that we are over halfway through there has been a lot we have done, and learned, but a lot left to do too. Let’s take a look at what we have accomplished this generation and take a look forward to the next generation.

Generation 6b – It’s Just Business

  • Heir(ess) must join Business or Political career. Spouse may enter the job the heir does not choose or any previously unlocked position.
  • Once heir reaches level 10 of chosen career, computers, tablets, and video game consoles are able to be purchased and used.

The requirements for this generation were pretty minimal, and once again no mini-challenges. Bonnie obviously took the business route, which did let us unlock many fun electronic things. Although the most exciting piece specifically for the family seemed to be the computers.

We do have a lot of “challenge” mini-challenges still going, so let’s take a look at the ones chosen for this challenge, as long as I can keep them going and choose to keep them:

Selected Mini-Challenges

Roll the Dice: Give yourself 5 extra points if you randomize traits of all children for the whole challenge (minus the required traits following the crossroads). You can still do this mini-challenge if you choose to have a passed-down family trait, as long as you roll for all the rest of the traits besides the family trait.

“Every family has one…”: This mini-challenge is in addition to the Roll the Dice challenge. Give yourself 1 point for each sim who rolls the Erratic trait.

“No well-behaved woman ever made history.”: Can you make your challenge into a Matriarchy? Must use strawberries to try and give birth to girls so each generation can have an heiress. The use of mods to tamper with gender does not count! 10 points

Gnome Mania: Give yourself one point for each gnome on the family lot by the end of the challenge. Additionally, give yourself one point for each TYPE of gnome the family has collected. These are the gnomes you will receive during HarvestFest so do not cancel the holiday!

Hoarder: An extra 10 points for each completed collection the family has ON the lot at the end of the challenge.

Creature Comforts: 3 points for each type of creature which joins your family’s household at any point in the challenge (Ghost, Vampire, Alien).

DIY: No handyman may be called at any time during the challenge; all broken appliances, plumbing, and electronics must be fixed by someone in the household. No maid or butler may be hired. Nannies are not allowed, but daycare is – you have to work, after all. 5 points

Love the One You’re With: 5 points if all spouses are found within the town and not created for the heir(ess) in CAS.

So far we are still rolling for the traits (minus the required one), and we haven’t had any erratic sims yet. We continue to be able to keep the matriarch going, we are still collecting gnomes and finishing collections, and we are slowly working on gathering creatures (only a spellcaster so far.) No handymen have been called and Rene was found in the hood so the mini-challenges are all accounted for.

Let’s take a quick peek at what we have to do this next generation before I get to the points we have so far. These will be the goals for Corie.

Corie has another pretty small goal set to complete. She will be going into either the Critic, Social Media, or Writing career. I don’t know if any of them scream Corie that much, but I will probably put her into Social Media. I feel like that is more her. At the end of this career, we will finally be able to build houses with as many rooms as we want. That likely means we will be moving again, as I want to play in a new world for a bit. I’m excited to get started, and I hope to have you join me. Let’s see the points!

POINTS (SO FAR):

-5 for each restriction broken (-15 total) – I totally did this twice with the rooms, and then realized I had broken it once at the very beginning with food, nothing else so far.

1 point per $100,000 the family has accrued (+65 total) The family currently has just over 6.5 million simoleons so far.

1 point per each skill maxed per generation (by any family member) (+37 total)
Gen 1:
– Kiana: 3 (Cooking, Flower Arranging, and Gardening)
– Johnny: 0
Gen 2:
– Belle: 4 (Cooking, Gardening, Piano, and Violin)
– Francis: 0
Gen 3:

Gen 4:
– Lara: 7 (Archaeology, Cooking, Dancing, Fitness, Logic, Rocket Science, Selvadoradian Culture) *Also has Gardening, which Zygo has*

We somewhere lost another gnome (I wonder if I accidentally deleted it while editing the house.) We are very close to finishing up another 11 collections, although they aren’t all easy to gather (like the Omiscan Treasures). We did grow our points some more, which is really nice. With Bonnie still an adult for a bit longer, and Rene already an elder, but just needing that last promotion, we will probably have them both retire soon (or as soon as Bonnie is an elder) and focus on collections while Corie works her way through her career. It’s been a fun ride so far and hope to see you next for generation 7!

SimNaNo Update #2

Hello and welcome back to the EPIC Tripp, and to our second SimNaNo post! You should be getting two posts today as we are going to be wrapping up generation 6, which also means this is a slightly longer chapter than usual. Last update we celebrated HarvestFest, the twins (Bill and Steve) grew up into YAs, we got a new little rodent named Thimble, and Bonnie did a bunch of fishing. Let’s see how this generation ends!

We join the house with everyone asleep but Belle, our gen 2 heiress, is out haunting and apparently inspecting this armor statue.

Belle: Hmmmm, this thing really is rather shiny

Well it is a suit of armor, of a metal variety

Belle: It’s also so clean, surprising considering how my lineage treats the downstairs

Fair point, I would expect, with a slob, this would be covered with dust.

Corie starts the update cleaning up the dishes that are everywhere, it’s almost like she heard us, and then going to take care of Thimble. Belle was not kidding about how messy the downstairs can get.

Rene on the other hand heads out to take care of the bees and then does some laundry in the extremely dirty water in the basin. I should have them dump that.

Steve gets himself a career in Social Media. I decided to keep these guys around until graduation to see if it works. It does display on the calendar, so I have hope.

Bill ends up with a job as a critic and immediately starts working on his writing, which he decides he likes, which is good.

Rene needs to max his logic skill for his job, so he sits and practices some chess. That goes a lot smoother when Steve isn’t talking his ear off, but that’s ok.

Thimble graces us with a postcard, which took me a bit to find, I had a weird filter on my family inventory I didn’t realize was there, and it’s hanging up now. Thanks, Thimble!

Corie is going through a rollercoaster of emotions right now so she’s taken to jogging to clear her mind on the beach. There isn’t much of a chance that she will get a positive character trait out of it, but it keeps us both sane.

Steve got sent out on a collection run in space. We didn’t get the wormhole generator fully upgraded during that gen but the rocket can do it too. Steve collected a few aliens, none of which were the one we need, and some more crystals/metals, also none of the ones we needed.

Bonnie got herself a raise, which is good, because our bills our HUGE, and we are certainly not making nearly enough to cover them all, even with all our garden selling.

Now that they have a TV the family can often be found watching it. Seems like the TV or dancing to the stereo are our favorite pastimes around here.

Lindsey, Lara, and I think that’s Ferdinando, are all out haunting. We are getting more and more ghosts out together it seems now.

Corie has been deciding to grill a lot more lately. I’m’ not sure I love her using the grill to make food as it’s easy to cause a fire, but so far she’s not having any issues.

Bonnie is back to fishing quite a bit and trying for some of the fish we have not caught yet. We aren’t having a ton of luck, even though there are a few we should be getting around this island. We do need to go back to Granite Falls though.

Apparently, Thimble has helped with some scientific achievements. That’s cute, I’ve never really played with a rodent before and these are kind of fun!

Corie and Patchy have a pretty good relationship overall. I keep feeling tempted to get Patchy together with someone in the family, but I don’t want to quite yet. I do have future plans though.

It’s Winterfest Eve so everyone comes together to work on decorating the tree and enjoying the lights. Those that wanted to also head to a holiday ceremony.

Thimble’s enclosure got really dirty, so I had Corie take care of it.

Corie: Wow this is gross, good thing I’m not squeamish!

Good thing indeed.

Thanks, Johnny for taking the clothes out of the dryer. Of course, it would have been nice if you hadn’t set them down on the floor, especially with a busted sink, but whatever. Francis (I think) speaking of the sink, why you are complaining? You quite literally JUST broke it yourself!

Rene was up so I had him go shoo everyone out and fix the sink and put the laundry away himself.

Then I noticed I apparently didn’t get the cowplant fed in time. So sorry…..shoot, name name….

All Tripps: CORNELIUS!!!!!!!

Right, right!!!!

All Tripps: Poor Cornelius, you killed him!!!

I know, Rene we have lots of cowberries, why don’t you plant another? I’m sorry I let Cornelius go hungry for too long. I promise we’ll do better.

Winterfest morning found Bonnie cooking a grand breakfast, and Corie supposedly helping cook. Bill is busy setting the table for breakfast.

Everyone actually sat down for breakfast together, which isn’t always easy to do. For some reason, Steve sat at the end in the “toddler” chair that is pulled out instead of being able to eat at the table, but he’s still there.

After breakfast Ruth and Malakai were invited over and everyone opened up gifts together. Ruth, sadly, got the gag gift and was not overly impressed, but everyone else liked their gifts.

After presents, it was time for games. Steve, Bill, Ruth, and Corie all played some video games together while Bonnie, Rene, and Malakai played cards.

Apparently, at some point during the day, Rene and Bill ended up with a difficult dynamic. I’m not really sure what specifically happened but with a bunch of evil sims it’s bound to happen I suppose.

Bill left a sugar skull on one of our many graves and went out to ask this celebrator for a skull, which he got, but sadly it was one we already have. These skulls are hard to get.

Thimble has been branching out and is now into medical research too. Thimble is quite the overachiever.

Bill heads out to do some snorkeling. I’m not 100% sure if there was a reason for him to be snorkeling, but he seemed to enjoy it.

Back inside Ruth joins the twins and Bonnie for a round of simbles to round out our Winterfest. Overall it was a good time for everyone.

The ghosts that night, Lindsey and Belle, were a great help in cleaning up all the dishes and things left out.

Corie starts a new day by doing some facial cleansing, she’s feeling embarrassed about a breakout, and then she’s put to work repairing the stereo.

Bonnie starts off her new day with a workout. It’s new years eve, so everyone makes some resolutions, and Bonnie’s is to get fit.

The boys are both wanting a promotion for their resolution, and Corie wants to raise a skill. Rene also wants to get promoted.

Bonnie heads back out to fish and not only does she max her fishing skill, she FINALLY catches one of the fish we have been missing. It’s basically time to head to other areas to catch the rest now.

New years eve is a rather quiet day, Corie works on her homework a bit, talks with Bill, and eventually gets up and makes some food before the countdown.

Everyone is together to ring in the new year. They have made it through another winter! Not that winters are hard on a tropical island.

I totally forgot to empty the tub so Zygo uses it to “clean” some clothes, which of course do not actually get clean.

Bonnie decides to sit with her husband and help him with his logic skill. He is very close, about 1/2 way through the last skill point he needs, so it should not be long now.

Bonnie also decides she likes fitness. I would have SWORN she already liked fitness, but I guess it is official now.

It’s graduation day and I was concerned we wouldn’t make it in time, so I sent the whole family to the auditorium early, which ended up being a mistake. They were the only ones to show up until I traveled away and used the button to go to the event, so lesson learned there.

That meant we only got a few pictures of the twins in their caps and gowns, but really that was all we needed. We’ll try again with Corie and hopefully, it will work. This also showed me I have never updated the auditorium, which really needs it!

With graduation over the twins are moved out where MCCC and Story Progression will take them on for the rest of their lives. I look forward to getting their updates

Rene suddenly gets a bunch of stuff. First, he has decided he is a bookworm, which I’m all for. Then, at work, Rene gets a little chance card and ends up having a bit of an issue with a plant. Oops

Corie heads out to bond with the bees. She’s pretty well bonded with them at this point so Rene takes a step back and instead takes care of Thimble.

The family is just getting pop-ups left and right. Bonnie, whom I remember being a fitness enthusiast since she was old enough, gets the Active trait, which I’m all for. Then Corie likes fitness now as well, and Bonnie maxes out her Logic skill. Now we just need Rene to do that.

The ghosts for tonight are Kiana and Lindsey. Kiana looks SO SAD or really with her red color, SO ANGRY that she cannot wash the dishes in the sink. Yes, I think YOU broke it Kiana, go use the sink in the kitchen.

There always seemed to be something for Corie to do. Besides school, she tries to keep the garden maintained, the new cowplant, named Ferdinand, fed, and Thimble (the second since the first one perished) entertained and fed.

Neighbors came by with free food, a typical thing that happens on Sulani, and so Bonnie went out and hung out with some of them around the fire pit.

Rene managed to finish his aspiration and get his Logic skill maxed working on the space prints, which then led to him getting abducted. At least he’s an elder and won’t likely get pregnant.

The night before Corie’s birthday Belle and Zygo are out haunting the place. So far, as you can see, they have not broken the sink. The tub, however, has fallen. I have to repair both almost every day.

Just because it’s her birthday doesn’t mean she gets out of chores. Corie tends the garden, takes care of the bees, and fixes the sink. She dislikes handiness though, so this made her tense.

Bonnie spent the morning getting a workout in. I adjusted the house some, shrunk it a bit, as I recognized it was HUGE and did not need to be, but that also means I did not catch the clock ON the window up here. Whoops.

Soon enough it’s birthday party time, and Bonnie decides she likes baking. The cake was already made, but Bonnie was whipping up some other goodies.

Corie’s brothers, her cousins, and Patchy were all in attendance, along with Bonnie and Rene of course. There was lots of dancing.

There was also some game playing to be had as well. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the party.

Corie went over to her cake, considered the best way to get all the candles and blew. Now she is a YA! Hard to believe. She and Bonnie both get a tiny bit of a makeover, just adjusting some outfits.

Corie managed to be Valedictorian, just like her brother Steve. We will have to see if she can give her speech!!

The party winds down and Steve and Rene suddenly get a difficult dynamic. Well, I suppose both evil boys are difficult now. It was nice that most of the family sat together for a while though. That, however, wraps up generation 6!! The wrap-up will be coming shortly after this post and then it will be time for Corie to take over! I hope to see you then!!

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.12

Post 6.11 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.13

Welcome back to the Tripp’s! This update we will get closer to Corie taking over as heir, and we will continue to work on collections since Bonnie has completed all her goals for the generation. Last update Corie worked on her aspiration, all the kids got up to A’s in school, we tried to find some of the new plants in Henford, and a visitor died at our home. Let’s dig in!

We start our update with Bonnie in the garden. She doesn’t need to spend time in the garden, but it still seems to occasionally be a place she loves to go spend time. We will be working on getting Corie fully leveled up in the garden soon. I am also thinking of moving the family again, but I want to finish the beach collections first.

I love the fact that Patchy sometimes joins the family for dinner, or at least a part of the family for dinner. Rene spends some time with two of his kids. I’m not sure where Bonnie or Bill are.

Steve manages to get himself promoted to a teammate on the football team. I don’t remember what he was before, but funny that he’s finally a teammate. Is the first level maybe bench warmer? They are still teammates though.

In the middle of the night nearly everyone is up and hanging out in Bonnie and Rene’s room, except for Steve, and in their PJs, except for Bill. Gotta love Sims.

Super early in the morning, Bonnie is up and bonding with the bees. They seem to have calmed and been fixed to not get as angry so quickly, but we will still do what we can to keep them happy. I need to have Corie doing this too.

The gnome coalition is back in session, holding their yearly living room meeting. I find it very funny they seem to collect here. Regardless of where they hold their coalition, the fact they are meeting means it’s once again HarvestFest!

Rene heads out to work in the garden, which is an event we added to HarvestFest in this save, and Bonnie heads out into the deep ocean to work on finding some treasures. I’m surprised we haven’t yet found all the collections for Sulani. I realized later I should have had her take the boat out, but oh well.

Corie was sent to repair some plumbing and decides she does NOT like Handiness. She might have to do some handiness once in a while, but we will try and have others handle that in the future.

Corie goes and checks in with the gnome coalition and hands one of the gnomes a snack, which the gnome was very happy with. I’m not going to try and appease all of these gnomes, we’d have seed packets coming out of our ears!

While Bonnie was out diving for treasures she manages to max out her fitness. This is pretty cool since she has always been pretty physically minded and enjoys her workouts.

The gnome coalition moves to the kitchen, which does present a challenge for preparing the grand feast, but Steve doesn’t even notice. He’s busy working on some homework to catch up on his day off.

Corie manages to complete the grand breakfast and calls the family to eat. Bonnie is making her way back, but the rest of the family doesn’t wait for her. They were all very hungry. Corie did a great job on her first grand meal alone.

Once the kitchen was properly checked the gnome coalition heads outside to check on the garden. This is really the bread and butter of the coalition and the family keeps a large, well-maintained, garden. Steve and Bill head out and take the gnomes some more snacks as they do whatever they do in the garden.

Corie and Steve sit down at the computers and chat for a bit. Corie is also looking for some penpals to see if we can get some more postcards. We have added so many collections lately.

However, Corie and Steve now have a difficult relationship. These two are not the closest, but with Corie being mean I am not surprised.

Bonnie headed out into the sailboat and started fishing in the deeper water. She does catch a few fish, but not really anything new. Most of the fish we need require other fish for bait though, so this is useful.

The gnome coalition is back inside to finish up their meetings for the season. I didn’t try and appease all of them of course, but they seem happy to continue to meet here.

As the gnomes warp up their Harvestfest activities Kiana is out haunting and cleaning up.

Kiana: There is always so much to clean here

I know Kiana, they are a set of messy sims, but they are doing well.

Kiana: Indeed, our strong traditions continue.

Everyone is really off on their sleep schedules right now, and struggling with things like fun on a frequent basis, but hunger is not normally a problem. You would think they would all talk as they sit and eat, but sometimes they just sit together.

We are still working on finding the last emotion seed to complete the tree Rene has been working towards. Meanwhile Cori gets to know the bees better, trying to get them to not attack her anytime she comes near the garden. Steve takes care of the cowplant….Ferdinand?

All Tripps: CORNELIUS!

Oh right right!! Sorry guys, I can never remember what we named this one.

With the bees and Cornelius tended to Corie heads out for a jog to recover from her mood swing and Steve heads up to punch the punching bag. I “updated” our collection area so it wasn’t just a bunch of stuff sitting on the ground thanks to the new cubbies from Crystal Creations.

After a jog Corie makes some food that is apparently a bit too spicy for her. She burps out actual fire and smoke before she is able to finish.

Cornelious apparently had eaten someone again, not really a surprise, so Corie heads out to milk him. I did not write down who or what essense it was. I’ll try and remember to look next time.

Bill hasn’t shown up much is this update but he is still here and tonight he’s hanging out with ghosts. Looks like his grandma Miranda is out haunting and spends time chatting with him while he shaves. I believe that is also Lindsay out as well.

I’m trying to get Corie more adept at cooking so she mixes up from fruit salad for breakfast, or could be lunch or dinner really. Anyone in the family can grab this at any point once she puts it in the fridge.

While Corie cooks, Rene is busy fixing the plumbing the ghosts broke the night before and Bonnie has discovered a love of gardening she never had before. I guess a life in business caused her to miss and fall back in love with nature.

Corie heads out to try and bond with the bees again, and as you can see it isn’t going the best it could be. They still frequently attack her, but it’s slowly getting better.

I decided to send Bonnie and Corie out to Oasis Springs to see if we could bring home any new fish and crystals. Sadly, the cave had no dig spots active, which I thought was a bit weird, but regardless, Bonnie did get some fishing done, both in and outside the cave. I don’t believe we caught anything new though.

A family update pops up and lets us know that Ruth is now a Young Adult. I should go make sure she is flagged. I like Ruth, but we still don’t need a bunch of Tripps running around.

The boys are super close to aging up, which also means they will be headed out on their own soon. I think I will miss having them. I keep debating moving the family after the beach collections are done, but without the boys we’d have to have fewer rooms again. Anyway, Steve and Bill are pretty close, and play around with the football and video games (probably also sports related.)

Bonnie heads back out to try and do some more fishing and catches an endangered fish, but we have already kept one of these, so we throw it back. Finding the last of these fish is proving rather difficult.

While Bonnie is out on the water the rest of the family is inside hanging out in the living room. I’m not entirely sure if there was a season premier they were watching, or if it was just a family gathering all on their own.

Realizing we are likely at the point where this little guy would be allowed, and since I want those last postcards, Corie gets this cutie. I do not remember what I named him at all.

Our sweet Remington, whom you might remember was Abby and Miranda’s cat when Bonnie was little, is out haunting and Rene takes time to play and pamper him. I want him back in this family. Remington also seems interested in the newest, and smallest, new member of the family.

I cannot for the life of be remember exactly why I took this picture, other than to say Bill still goes to his father for nearly all requests. Probably because Rene is usually around, while Bonnie was often at work.

I had Steve make a quick sugar skull offering and got a sugar skull from the celebrator, but sadly it’s one we already have. Collections have not been my friend this round.

Bonnie continues to fish the deeper parts of the ocean hoping for either bait fish or fish we don’t already have, but she also spends time with the family. Bill is once again engaging with Rene, and Steve apparently was not feeling family time, but also didn’t want to fully be alone dancing in the background.

As hard as it is for me to beleive, Rene’s birthday is here so someone, cannot remember who, whips up a honeycake and Rene blows out his candles and is officially an elder.

Corie and Bill get themselves a difficult dynamic, much like Corie and Steve have already. Bonnie also decided that she is now family-oriented. I guess all this time as a business workaholic has really made Bonnie evaluate her life.

After a quick dinner it’s party time! All the extended family and many family friends are invited over to celebrate yet ANOTHER set of birthdays!

Bill and Steve both blow out their candles and become young adults. It’s crazy to believe they are ready to move out. Corie isn’t too far behind and that means we are almost at the next generation!

Bill graduated with honors, but Steve is actually Valedictorian!!!! Way to go Steve! This does really make me wish graduations worked better in Sims. I might try to send them anyway on Sunday, we’ll see.

This update is already getting long, but before we head out, it looks like I named him Thimble, and he is working on getting out to space already! Way to go Thimble, get me some postcards, please!!! With that, it feels like a good place to leave this update. Next time we will play through until Corie graduates and we can start the next generation! Hope to see you then!!

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.11

Post 6.10 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.12

Hello and welcome back to the Tripp’s! It’s been far too long since we were last with this family but we are finally here. Last update Bonnie completed the goals for this generation, Corie grew up into a teenager, and the twins worked their way through high school (not followed.) Here is a look at the goal information.

Generation 6b – It’s Just Business

  • Once heir reaches level 10 of chosen career, computers, tablets, and video game consoles are able to be purchased and used.

We can see we crossed off our final goal! Now we just wait for Corie to age up so we can start on our next generation. I’m excited to be through this generation’s goals and so close to starting the next generation. Let’s dig in!

We start our update with Corie getting started on some of the things she was going to need to get good at in order to continue in this challenge, gardening and making friends with the bees. We don’t really need the bees specifically for the garden any longer, but we’ve had them for so long they are part of the family now.

That evening we have our first two generations visiting. Kiana and her daughter Belle come out haunting and quickly give each other a hug. While I get tired of having plumbing break, it is super nice to still have these ghosts come visit. I love these two.

I have not been focusing on the collections much recently, so I deiced to send Bonnie out with some diving gear so she can go treasure hunting. We haven’t found very many of the island collections yet, even though we’ve been living here a while.

Cousin Ruth comes by the next day and the kids play some games, since they have unlocked consoles, and then Corie gets ready to start high school by doing her homework sitting on her bed.

Over the course of the day and evening, Ruth and Corie become best friends. We of course said yes to this since Corie has known Ruth since they were both little girls. I want to keep these new generations close since we have started having more than 1 child.

The 3 boys in the house spend the time after school hanging out in the dining room. Both of the boys are doing well in school and Rene is slowly progressing through his job, we can probably complete it before Corie takes over, but his isn’t the most important.

Speaking of Rene, he gets the perfectionist trait discovered for himself. I can see this, so of course we say yes. Then Rene maxes out gardening! He has been taking care of the garden, with Patchy’s help, since essentially moving in, so I’m glad he got it maxed finally.

Bill is not the most fitness-oriented sim, most of his childhood was spent on creative and mental tasks, but he gets the bug to work out, so he uses the treadmill right outside the boys’ “room.”

I did not get a screenshot of it, but this woman asked to stay over with the family for a few days and we said yes. Then she died in our kitchen. Thanks, random lady. We grabbed the urn and will take it someplace for her to carry out her hauntings later. We have enough ghosts in our family graveyard.

The kids get a couple of dynamics. Poor Corie and Rene get the difficult one, which I think actually makes a little sense. She’s trying to find her own way with the plants and bees, and Rene has been doing it for a long time. Meanwhile, Bill and Rene get the jokesters dynamic.

I am pretty sure it was premier night and so the family gathers in the living room and watches the premiere together. I don’t pull this off too often with the entire family, so it was kind of fun, even if Steve (I think) stood up during the show.

Belle has been very active this round.

Thank you for cleaning up all the clothes!

Belle: Why do they not put things in the hamper?

Well, your great-great-granddaughter’s husband is lazy, unfortunately, but he still has helped keep the family going.

Steve helps out with the bees while his sister works on beach combing. These bees are feeling better after we have spent a lot of time getting them out of irritation. They really do require a lot of social bonding.

Apparently, the island seating in the kitchen is more desirable than the dining table for the entire family to chat. I would think the table would be easier to have conversations around, but you know, you guys do what you want.

Spooky day brings outfits to garden in, and then the family takes a quick trip to Henford, to search out more plants. However, it was storming so hard the boys freaked out a bit, while Corie just worked on her homework. Sadly we didn’t get any new plants, but we’ll be back.

Bonnie and Steve find themselves with a Difficult family dynamic, just like Corie and Rene. I do enjoy the fact some of the teens are getting difficult dynamics with their parents. That makes a lot of sense to me.

Lara it out and tries her hand at video games. I love that the boys are on either side of her, almost like they are teaching her. Remington is also out haunting and Rene spends some time with him. I would like to add Remington back to the household at some point.

I love all these various updates we get. Bonnie maxes out her archaeology skill, Lindsey would be very proud of her descendant. Then Steve likes Video Gaming, which feels like an obvious item, finally, Rene has become Paranoid.

The Hijinks festival is in town and the family gets invited out by Ruth, I believe, and so we send the family down. They all join the joksters and enjoy the festival. The teens even spend some time with the bubble blower before they head home. I’m pretty sure they won.

The next day is a busy one update-wise for the family. Bill first becomes an A student and joins Steve as one of the top students. Then Corie also gets an A as well, so all of the kids are now the top students. Bonnie gets an energetic lifestyle, which makes a lot of sense for how much she works out. Corie gets some mischief skill, which I really should pursue a bit more with her probably.

Rene heads to Henford again, and the weather is much nicer than last time. He checks out the stand near the pub and then heads home. When he gets home we are greeted with quite the beachgoer. Why would you wear socks on the beach?

Bonnie manages to get herself a raise at work, and while the family is doing great, their bills have gotten pretty extravagant, so we might end up needing to move, which I wouldn’t hate doing, but I still love Sulani.

Corie got the Curator aspiration as a teen, so we send her out collecting. While we have almost completed the metals and crystals we are still missing a couple, so I’m hoping Corie might be able to finish them eventually.

We are going to end this update with a fire. Rene tried to cook, and while usually Bonnie cooks, Rene tried it and started a fire. He does manage to get everything put out and no lasting damage, but that was enough excitement for now. Next update we might get Corie aged up and ready to take over, and we should see the twins age up, but we’ll see how far we get. Hope you enjoyed and I hope to be back to these guys soon!

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.10

Post 6.09 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.11

Hello and welcome back to another Tripp update! It feels like it’s been forever since we have been with this family and I’m super excited to be playing them again. I have wanted to finish this challenge for a while, and I’m over halfway already, so I need to focus on them a bit more. Anyway, let’s review our goals:

Generation 6b – It’s Just Business

  • Once heir reaches level 10 of chosen career, computers, tablets, and video game consoles are able to be purchased and used.

Still working on that last goal, and last time Bonnie made it to level 9 and now she just needs charisma to finish it up. We also had the twins grow into teens, and they both managed to complete 2 child aspirations. Let’s get into the update.

Bonnie and Rene work on talking each other through their fears. I believe both of them managed to work through their fears and get rid of the unfulfilled desires fear. I don’t always worry about their wants, perhaps I should turn them off here, but we’ll see how it goes.

The kids work on homework again while Rene eats breakfast. I have decided I will not send the boys to high school (or rather follow them to high school) or participate in high school stuff right away. Without computers, we shouldn’t go.

Bill heads out to feed Cornelius before he gets too hungry and someone heads out to try and eat the cake. I think this has to be my longest-living cow plant. The family really does seem to like Cornelius.

Steve and Patchy hang out in the living room chatting. Now that the boys are teens I’m not spending a ton of time on their stuff, minus their schooling. Since they aren’t going to be heirs they can mostly do what they want.

Such as heading out to grill some food and setting the grill on fire. The fire was put out pretty quickly, but thanks a lot Steve.

Steve: What, it wasn’t my fault!

You were cooking on it, it didn’t combust itself.

Steve: No, but it’s likely because no one cleaned it and so the flammable materials have coated this thing.

Ugh, now you’re logical!

Back inside the boys do more homework. I know I was just saying that they weren’t going to be my focus, and all the pictures are of them. I promise everyone else is still around and doing well. I do love the look of this vault. So many riches. However, their bills are pretty ridiculous.

Johnny, why did you break the dollhouse???!!

Johnny: What?? I didn’t!

I just watched you do it, Johnny.

Johnny: All right, all right, I was angry.

So you took it out on the dollhouse? At least we don’t have toddlers at the moment.

The next day is a good day for the family. Not only does Steve finish up all his scouting items, I believe I might have had him join the football team. That’s been around as a sport forever, and I figure it’s an ok thing. Rene also gets himself promoted and is doing well in his career too.

To top it off Bonnie comes home with her final promotion! That means we have finished up our goals for this generation!! We have unlocked computers and consoles, which is super exciting.

So we move some things around in the house and get ourselves a couple of computers. Bonnie uses one to write her book that she needs to write, and it’s going to be so nice to have these.

Bonnie talks with Belle when she is out haunting for the night. I can’t remember if she’s maybe giving her a lecture about archeology or not.

Lindsey helps us out with taking out the trash and then she and Belle both head out to “sunbathe” at night. They don’t do a whole lot this night, which is pretty nice, as we are getting a lot of ghosts on this lot, and that typically means lots of plumbing fixes in the morning.

Bonnie is still needing to work on her archeology and so she continues to work on revealing and authenticating the various artifacts everyone brought back from Selvadora.

These are 3 very different reactions to coming home from school. Neither of the boys seem very happy with being home from school, but Corie seems pretty content.

To have some fun these three sit down to play video games together. Then Steve and Bill practice football. I don’t think Bill has joined a club, but he’s willing to help out his brother.

Family night! They may mostly be an evil family, but I have decided it’s the type of evil that still cares about each other, they just don’t care as much for other people, or the rules.

I sent Bonnie out in the boat to start working on fishing some of the deeper water fish or the fish that you have to go further out to catch. So far not a lot of luck, but I’m determined to get the fish collection done, and the plants.

Remington was out haunting and Rene gives him a good brushing. You were a good cat Remington and are highly missed.

I am pretty sure these two did this all on their own. Now that Bonnie is through her goals for the generation I haven’t made her do too much, but they will be back to working through collections soon enough.

Corie is working hard on her skills and her schooling. She still doesn’t have an A and will be growing up very soon. I also would like to get her through more of the aspirations.

The hard work pays off and Corie gets her A finally. It is soon her birthday and I’m excited to have all teens in the house and no more kids for a bit.

A couple of quick updates. Bill is going through a loud phase, which is kind of funny to me. Then Malakai, who is a cousin by marriage, gets married. He is Ruth’s half-brother, but we love him being part of the family.

Then I am a TERRIBLE watcher and miss getting a picture of Corie growing up. So here she is after a makeover. She is a very pretty sim, an interesting mix of her parents. Sadly she only got creatively gifted and rolled the Curator aspiration to start. That will be where we end this update, and next time we will see how Corie gets on as a teen.

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.09

Post 6.08 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.10

We are back once again with the Tripp’s! I am so happy to be getting back to all my families, slowly but surely. I played some of this a while ago and am finally getting caught up on all my blogging while I was working on setting up the Achievement Insanity Project (which of course we are almost through round 1 over there.) However, now we are here with the Tripp’s, so let’s get going.

Generation 6b – It’s Just Business

  • Once heir reaches level 10 of chosen career, computers, tablets, and video game consoles are able to be purchased and used.

Here is our final goal for this generation. We are still working on this goal, as we have been, and Bonnie has been doing great with her job. The kids are all still working on their aspirations. Last update ended with Corie growing up into a child and being just shy of getting the top-notch toddler.

We start this update with Corie and Steve working on their various skills for their aspirations. I am not sure where Bill is specifically, but he’s likely also working on skills somewhere as well.

It’s Winterfest Eve and so now we see Bill is working with his parents to decorate the Winterfest Tree for the holiday. I like having this holiday split, it feels like it’s a longer celebration this way.

The next morning we have a big grand breakfast and have some neighbors over. We also invite the rest of the extended family over to celebrate with us as well. Everyone enjoys their meal.

Or at least it seemed like they did. Steve, however, develops a picky eater stage. So maybe it was so good he doesn’t want to eat not good anymore? Either that or it was less good and he only wants quality from here on out.

Winterfest continues, however, with presents being opened. We even brought Frank’s daughter over, although she now lives with a new family, she’s still a Tripp. It was nice for the kids to get to know their cousin.

I can’t remember if they got it for Christmas, or if I just decided to buy a game table for the family, but the kids all sit down after playing out in the water. Since they live on Sulani it’s beach time any time of the year.

Winterfest prepares to end with Corie getting a gift from Father Winter, and one of our ghosts, I think Abby, also hung out with him for a bit. He came inside and I think the boys asked for gifts, but I no longer remember.

Our ghosts are quite active tonight. We have Abby and Kiana inside right now and Fernando was wandering around here somewhere. I believe there were a couple of others out too.

Bonnie needed a little bit of charisma to finish up her current career level, so right before work we have her working in the mirror, and she makes it just in time. I really do not enjoy building up charisma.

Rene spends his days in the garden. We have a large garden and with the new Cottage Living pack, we have around 15 new plants to grab as well. With his work, he also needs to analyze plants too.

The boys come home from school with A’s! Yay, way to go boys! Corie is still at a C at the moment, but she’s just started school and will work on getting an A later.

It’s a homework party! The boys don’t need to do too much now that they have A’s, but it’s still a few days before they grow up. It’s kind of fun to have everyone working on their stuff together.

Ruth Trip comes over with one of the boys from school and we have Corie go and befriend her. She needs kid friends and is already friends with her brothers. Ruth is a good choice and will make it so Corie can invite her over as they get older.

Bonnie is now a CEO! She is now at level 9 in her career and needs a single promotion to allow us to unlock computers. That sadly means more charisma skilling for Bonnie. She needs 2 more levels before she’s ready for that final promotion.

The boys are still working on aspirations. I’m working on getting them at least 2, maybe 3 aspirations completed, but we will see if I have enough time before they grow up.

It’s family dinner time, which is a lot of fun. The lady with the purple swimsuit top has been hanging around the house for quite a while. We can’t say goodbye to her, so we will have to remove her in a different way at some point.

After Steve is done with the lab bench Bill gets his emotion potions and other mental levels in. I believe he was through playing an instrument after being on the piano for quite a while.

Steve has moved over to playing chess with Bonnie. Bonnie’s mom Abby comes out to haunt and watch the chess game.

Later that evening Ruth grows up into a teenager. Guess it’s good that Corie got her friendship when she did.

Clearly, we have left the decorations up, but it’s nearly new years. The kids all head out and play on the jungle gym that we purchased for the sideyard. I believe all 3 of the kids get the requirement for the rambunctious scamp completed.

Back inside Corie and one of her brothers work on their creative aspirations. I am going to try really hard to get at least 3 aspirations done for Corie, maybe all 4, but we’ll see.

We invited Ruth out to fish with us. I figure Bonnie and Rene may not wish their kids to head to a totally different area of the world by themselves to fish, so they sent Ruth.

It is new years and so the entire family, including Patchy, gathers around the TV that evening to watch the count down. Everyone celebrates the new year, and Bonnie goes out and even hugs her grandma Lara, who came out to haunt.

Awww, thank you, Johnny! You are so helpful.

Johnny: Well these two are absolutely terrible at cleaning up!

I know, Rene is Lazy and while no one is a slob, it just builds up.

The family skills and skills and skills. Bonnie had a wish to lose weight as her new years resolution, she’s always cared about her looks. Rene and Bonnie both work on reading to Corie, although she is still short on reading time.

Now, these two are throwing fears around as well. My goodness you two, are you going to be able to talk each other down? I don’t think I’ve had to have 2 sims with the same fears try to conqure them at the same time.

It is quite a ghost haunt tonight. We have 3 different generations out haunting, the first three actually.

Kiana: We can feel things are close.

Wait, what things are close???!!

Kiana: The family is growing up.

Oh! The boys birthdays….right. Don’t scare me like that!

Steve stays up late that night to finish up his creativity. The boys won’t go to school tomorrow but will spend the day finishing up their aspirations since it’s their birthday.

Oh, Rene. Why haven’t we fed Cornelius recently? Actually, didn’t I just tell you to go feed him??? I suppose this is feeding him, in a way.

It’s Monday and that means school projects and so Rene helps out Corie with her project until Bonnie gets home so we can celebrate the boys’ birthdays!

Bill goes first and then Steve gets a chance at the cake. Both of the boys will need a bit of a make-over, but happy birthday to them both. Both boys managed to get both Mentally Gifted and Creatively Gifted. If we had gotten a computer they likely could have finished Physically Gifted, but maybe with Corie.

And so to finish up this entry here are pictures of Ruth, Steve, and Bill all grown up. Bill gets City Native as his aspiration and Steve gets Bodybuilder. With the twins grown up, I think it’s time to leave the family. Next time we will likely see Corie grow up, and hopefully Bonnie will get her final promotion.

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.08

Post 6.07 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.09

Hello and welcome back to the Epic Tripp with the Tripp family! It has been so long since I posted, looks like around Aug when I last posted, so sorry for the absence. Real-life has been making it tough to play and/or blog as much as I would like. Hopefully, I will be able to do a little more now, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this update!

Generation 6b – It’s Just Business

  • Once heir reaches level 10 of chosen career, computers, tablets, and video game consoles are able to be purchased and used.

As a fun reminder, this is what we have left to work on for this particular generation. Bonnie, our current heiress, just needs to finish up her career. I can’t remember if she’s at level 6 or 7 in her career at this moment, but she’s getting close. Bonnie’s 3 kids, with her husband Rene are Bill, Steve, and Corie. Corie will be our next heiress and she is currently a toddler. With all that out of the way, let’s get started.

We start with Steve completing some sort of milestone. I don’t really remember what he was completing, but since he was helping with the gardening (which I love the fact kids can help with now) I’m going to assume it was one of the metal milestones.

It appears to be HarvestFest again. Seasons are kind of weird to determine on Sulani. I love Sulani, but when I play and don’t blog for a while (like I did here) it’s tough to tell where we are without pictures like this. Apparently the gnome coalition has decided they wanted to gather outside and perhaps play with the slide this HarvestFest.

The boys are working on more aspirations. I am trying something with them, where I am flipping between the various aspriations to complete milestones along the way and try to complete multiple aspirations.

The family invited multiple friends over, which for as evil as Bonnie is at work, she still has lots of friends, for HarvestFest dinner. Everyone enjoyed the meal and even Patchy joined.

As Harvestfest started drawing to a close the coalition of gnomes movd indoors to their normal spot. I always feel like some of the main gnomes are presenting to the group. We have a lot of gnomes now.

I can’t remember if we had lost Cornelious or not before, but he is here either still or again. I know someone lost a cow plant. Anyway, our guests enjoyed going out and playing with him. It’s pretty cute to watch them play.

The next morning the boys start by working on their homework and chatting away. Both boys are doing fine in school so far, and I doubt they will have any issues with getting A’s soon enough.

Then we find there is clearly a slight glitch in the matrix when Bill starts to weed the table in the corner of their “room.” I can’t remember if I this was actually making a difference to the actual plants or not, but it was kind of funny.

But back to our normal routines, Bonnie has maxed out her cooking skill. This is somewhat to be expected with how much cooking gets done in this house, but it does feel like it happened pretty quickly for her.

The boys start chatting after their morning chores and Bill completed a social milestone. It’s possible that Steve did as well but I don’t remember. You can also see that Corie is in the background here.

Corie is working on her thinking and so while people are home for the weekend (at least I think it’s the weekend) she is watching eveyrone she can. Bonnie and Steve play some chess, trying to work on not only Bonnie’s logic skill, but also Steve’s metal aspirations.

Later in the afternoon both Rene and Bonnie spend time with their kids. Bonnie reads to the boys for a bit (working on the parent reading to them for 2 hours task) and Rene talks with Corie and works on skills with her.

Sadly, late that evening when Rene was bonding with the bees our sweet Remington went to the otherside. We hope to invite him back in as a ghost cat someday. Everyone was very sad to lose him, he was a very loved and good cat.

Bonie is an incredibly good mom. She might be evil, but she loves her kids. She gives Corie a bath and then reads for a bit longer to the boys after their scout meeting.

Everyone spent the rest of the weekend working on skills. Bonnie and Rene both need Logic, and the boys worked on their creative endevours. Corie continued on her toddler skills, but sometimes she just needs some attention and hugs.

The boys became partners in crime and Bill tried out a prank at school on Monday and it worked out great for him. This feels quite appropriate since all the kids will end up evil like their mom.

After school the boys not only have school projects to work on, but it’s once again time for homework again. They are gaining all kinds of scouting badge points in the process and I can only hope that Corie is as successful as her brothers.

Ah ha, I knew I had lost a cowplant. Apparently I caught that Corenlious was hungry a little bit too late and he became a skeleton. Not to worry though because we had plenty of cow berries and planted a new one.

Bill played in the piles of money to become playful and then the family purcahsed one of the playground jungle gyms so the boys could play on it. They had all kinds of trouble getting playful once they went to the park for some reason.

It is almost Corie’s brithday and she isn’t quite at the Top Notch Toddler range so Bonnie works with her some. What she is missing the most is imagination and movement. I would have figured all her wandering around would have been enough, but not yet.

Steve runs into some of the family ghosts getting up for a snack in the middle of the night. It’s nice to see our ghosts still coming and visting, although in this moment they are not happy ghosts. I hope we see Remington soon.

We tried so hard, but Corie didn’t quite finish up all of her skills before growing up. She still becomes a Happy Toddler and grows up quite cute. She starts off with the Social Butterfly aspiration, but like her brothers she will be switching between them. She also got the Perfectionist trait to start.

Here is our Corie, the future heriess of this family after her makeover. I liked her in this cute curly buns, so I left her in them. She kept the purple she had as a toddler. I think that will wrap up this update and I hope to be back with this family soon.
