EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.02

Post 6.01 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.03

Welcome back to a new update for this EPIC Tripp. If you are around the US and celebrating, Happy Thanksgiving to you. If you aren’t in the US then I still hope it’s a good day for you all. All right, let’s take a quick reminder at our goals for this generation.

Generation 6b – It’s Just Business

  • Heir(ess) must join Business or Political career. Spouse may enter the job the heir does not choose, or any previously unlocked position.
  • Once heir reaches level 10 of chosen career, computers, tablets, and video game consoles are able to be purchased and used.

So far Bonnie hasn’t joined the business career, having spent her first little bit as a YA going through the jungle and being on the look out for a sim somewhere to perhaps marry.

We start off with Bonnie visiting the bar.

Bonnie: ….well I guess blondes probably do have more fun.

She is not the nicest sim all the time and a bit oblivious to when someone is feeling a little down.

Back at home Bonnie gets herself a job in the business world and needs to study up on some logic, so Miranda helps her out.

Bonnie: Now if I am looking at this right……..REMINGTON NO!!

Miranda: What???? What’s he doing?

Bonnie: *quickly switches pieces* oh, nvm, that’s his scratching post

That’s right, this little fluff ball doesn’t do anything wrong, do you little Remington. You are just too cute little cat!

Anyway, back to the people of this household. Miranda is a bit stuck in her magic right now, so she starts working on practicing more. She also has decided on a new familiar, not that she still doesn’t have the owl, but a voodoo doll really seems to fit her better.

Once Abby gets home from work, the two of them watch a movie “together.” I’m not sure they could really be farther apart in this room. It’s pretty funny to me that this is how they watch the movie. You know there are 3 couches right in front of you right?

Miranda: You are not like the main character Abbs.

Abby: Well he was a boss just like me.

Miranda: Yes, but that’s where it ended. He was a guy for one, and evil. I’m more like him then you.

Yes eventually they do sit down to discuss the movie.

Thanks Ferdinando. At least we don’t have any toddlers or children to cry over the loss here. Still, it does get annoying to have to fix everything all the time. Oh well, so be it.

Bonnie, while getting through her morning chores, spends some time with Cornelius. He’s a very well behaved cow plant overall and loves pets from Bonnie. Not that that would save her if she ever tried to eat his cake.

After giving Cornelius, and the bees, some love for the morning Bonnie heads out to her first day at work. She looks quite nice in her work outfit, even if it doesn’t totally suit her all that well.

Bonnie: It’s constricting.

I figured that was the case. You like to be a lot more free.

While at work, Bonnie got a choice to hide paperwork showing people at the top were getting money funneled to them. Of course she decided to hide it, she wants to be one of those people some day. Plus, her mom’s organization might be behind part of that money.

We have a bit of a glitched bee hive that I end up having to reset. They were stuck in ‘enraged’ status, no matter how much we paid attention to them, and they didn’t get the option to treat for mites. Abby and Miranda take care of gathering wax and honey from the bees and selling off excess plants while Bonnie is at work.

There are a lot of hours before Abby heads to work and Bonnie comes home so these two head off to try and find us some more collectables. Miranda heads into the telescope to search the stars, and Abby heads off into space…..on her own search of the stars.

Bonnie is evil, but has a soft spot, it seems, for all things that aren’t people. Cornelius, the bees, and Remington is no exception. He was feeling lonely having been alone with Abby and Miranda doing their searches for the day.

After a very long day at work, Bonnie gets dolled up and heads out to the roof top lounge hoping to run into some fun young adults, instead there are a lot of elders around and a smattering of adults. No one really interests Bonnie so she finishes up her pretzel and goes home.

Bonnie decided she needs a little extra room in that work uniform and hops on the treadmill for a good run before work the next day. Miranda comes up to chat with her about making her a potion or a spell that would probably do the trick.

Later that evening Patchy is out and Frank comes over to visit. It’s Abby’s birthday tonight and we are going to throw a big party to celebrate. After Bonnie gets home from work we will start the party.

Bonnie comes home with a promotion this day! Way to go Bonnie! She is already an Assistant Manager, which brings her near halfway through. The next promotion is the halfway mark.

The party for Abby is a lot of fun and there are a lot of people there. We brought the honey cake the family made earlier with us and Abby is able to blow out the candles. Belle was even there to perform some entertainment.

Two sweet things happened during the party. Bonnie got to know her potential husband some more. He is cheerful, lazy, and a bro. She met a couple of other guys as well, but these two have a really high relationship already. Then Abby and Frank share some time together as well.

As the party begins to wrap up for the night Bonnie stays at the bar for a little bit longer and is greeted, in what is becoming a tradition of my ghosts, by nearly every ghost in the family coming to the bar. Bonnie is able to greet each one and then heads home.

It was a successful party and Bonnie has gotten a good start into the world of business and has found who she is likely to choose to share the rest of this challenge with. I’m excited to see how Bonnie does for the rest of the time, but for now we are going to wrap up this challenge. Just for fun here are a couple random pictures.

Belle somehow manages to make a snow angle in the bar itself. Maybe it’s ghost snow? It was rather funny to just watch her fall to the floor and then be in snow.

I played around with platforms a bit and gave the family a sunk in living room. There are still no walls, but it offers a nice separation from the other room. I really do like the platforms, even if they are a little finicky so far. All right, see you all next time.

Latte Game – Heir Poll #3

Generation 3.10 | Rules | Family Tree | Generation 4.01

Oh my gosh, it’s time for an heir poll again! I know it’s actually been a long time since we had one for this family, but I’m so excited to be able to throw this one. I really don’t know who is going to be heir and I love all of these kids, so it’s going to be a tough choice.

So, as always, there will be the poll up here and another over at boolprop.net if you want to vote either place, both places, whatever you want. And with that, let’s see who the choices are:

Hjorids is the eldest of the current Latte clan and just became a young adult. She got the scouting aptitude, Physically Gifted, and Responsible traits as well as the ones listed above. We have not yet had her aspiration, and she would add 4 letters (J, R, D, and S). I really do like her, although with Halix and Easton just becoming adults it might feel a little weird to have Hjordis take over already but it’s not a big deal.

Next up in Amarja. She is an interesting genetic mix of her parents and I also really like her. She would have a new aspiration for us as well, although as a job I didn’t write down what branch, so I would probably make her a journalist. Amarja would add 3 new letters (M, R, and J). She also has scouting aptitude, socially and mentally gifted and is on track to get Responsible and Good Manners.

Our final girl of the generation is Lowitja. She just became a teen and is finishing up her scouting aptitude. She does have the Mentally Gifted trait and is on track to get a couple character values. She has a new aspiration and we would need to bring spellcasters into the mix. I’m not sure how spellcaster/mermaids would do, but I’m willing to find out if she is who you pick. Lowitja would add 3 letters (W, T, and J).

Now we move on to the boys, and the final two kids of this generation. Ijtiba is still only a child and is working on his scouting badge and aspiration. His aspiration is the same as Hjordis and job is what his mom already has, so I would rather have Hjordis if you want to see this aspiration done. Ijtiba adds 3 letters (J, T, and B).

Now our final child, Xjavier sadly got “left out” of a lot of the blog without my meaning to, but he’s a good kid. He is another child that would need to become a spellcaster if we are to complete his aspiration, but his job is also new. Xjavier adds 3 new letters as well (J, V, and R).

I don’t dislike any of these kids and I’m excited to play any of them more. So far we have had all girl heirs and if we continue that with choosing one of the 3 girls I will get another generation of the Matriarchy, and since both boys have similar desires as their sisters I think I would prefer one of the girls, but I will leave it up to you.

Latte Game – Generation 3.10

Generation 3.09 | Rules | Family Tree | Heir Poll | Generation 4.01

Hello and welcome back to the Latte’s. Last time with the family we welcomed the final member of this generation, Xjavier and we are likely ending this update with a new heir poll! Super excited to see who everyone chooses, I think it’s going to be a hard choice.

The eldest girls are working on homework and other skills today while hanging out. This family has always been so close, and I think they are going to continue to be super close this generation.

So it’s almost birthday time and we invited a lot of family over, one of them being Orion Straud, who burned up in the setting sun. Easton went out to plead for Orion’s life and Grim actually listened. I wasn’t sure if it would work and those cousins are going to be around for forever.

Back to the birthday, it’s actually a double birthday. First up little Xjavier grows up into a toddler, and we will see his make-over in a second. Then Easton brings little Ijtiba to the cake and he grows up into a child.

Amarja puts little Xjavier to bed and the girls are already getting a head start on taking care of kids. Not sure who will end up heir, but both Hjordis and Amarja are great with the younger kids.

After a bit of a make-over here are the two youngest boys in the family. Xjavier is, of course, on the left and is another kid that looks a lot like Easton. Ijtiba also still looks a fair amount like Easton as well. Xjavier is an Inquisitive toddler, and Ijtiba got the Glutton trait and managed to get Top-Notch Toddler.

Horjdis is trying to finish up the scouting badge and so she heads out to fish. Additional kids also came too, and I think they were additional cousins, but not 100% sure who all came with us.

We then get some family updates. Ivan is now a young adult, which means it’s time to go flag him. Since I barely remember who Ivan is I’m would imagine you don’t either, but Ivan is Nick’s son. Nick being Zophi’s brother. Pixey, Halix’s sister, had a baby (her second) and named her Isabelle.

Zophi got invited out, I believe to a nightclub, but she meets up with her twin, Zorah, and her last living sister, Ember. We are going to be losing Zophi soon, and while I will miss her, she has achieved much for this challenge and I’m sure she misses Harvey.

Monday comes and we all know what that means. It’s school project time. Each of the kids pulls out their project and works on them on the beach, finishing them up. Hjordis will be happy to be done with school projects soon.

We get a tiny little family update and see that Arthur is now a child. Arthur is Zax youngest child. The extended family is likely close to being done with growing, other than if Ixael gets married.

I know I say this nearly every time, but I really love this family. From homework, to dinner time, to TV watching they all spend so much time together and seem to really like the time they spend with each other. I also adore the genetic diversity we have in this family so far.

Also, Easton makes the best faces! I’m not sure what he’s surprised by, or excited by maybe, but this face is just too great. Love them so much!

However, then the day I knew was coming, and was mostly prepared for came. It was Zophi’s time to leave this world. She had completed her aspiration, her job, raised her kids, and been a wonderful grandma to all of her grand-kids. See you around Zophi, please don’t break all of our stuff.

It is almost her birthday and Lowitja just finished up her aspiration. We kind of forgot about her aspiration there for a bit and didn’t focus on her as much as we probably should have. She gets the Artistic Prodigy aspiration next, but isn’t going to get a chance to complete it.

Apparently, all of the kids and family members were born right around the same time as we get a huge rush of family updates right before birthday’s around here too. Isabelle we saw born to Pixey earlier, Kaylieigh and Robyn (Zax and Oxkar’s wives respectively) turn elders, Paula is Pixey’s other daughter, is not a teen as is Olivia, Oxkar’s eldest.

Then it’s Happy Birthday to Halix, who ages up into an adult. It’s hard to believe she is only an adult, but all of those kids really hold back that age bar. Easton is probably going to have a youth potion when he becomes elder so he isn’t quite so off age with his wife.

Then it’s also little Lowitja’s birthday. We saw she had completed her aspiration and so it was time for her to become a teen herself. She is lovely, although I’m not crazy about that hair on her so she got a bit of a make-over.

Here is Lowitja after a make-over. I know it’s much darker than it was before, but I actually really like this look for her. She added Gloomy to Art Lover as a trait (partly the reason for the make-over. Gotta love those gloomy art lovers.) She also got Purveyor of Potions for an aspiration, which gives her Collector as a bonus trait.

Easton finally finishes up the Bodybuilder aspiration and will now have a long life. Not something he necessarily needed, but being married to a mermaid, who gets super high fitness from all the swimming, it will be nice for him to have it. Next he gets the Chief of Mischief aspiration.

Lowitja, much like her sisters, is already great with her younger siblings. She puts little Xjavier to bed who is working on his skills, even though we haven’t seen much of him this update. The beds are also still a popular place to do homework, or chat, as Halix and Amarja show.

Zophi is out haunting, pretty quickly, and she is out with her mom. Not sure why Kynzie gets so angry as a ghost, but Zophi is able to calm her down. She is happy to see her mom again.

A final little extended family update, and we see that Mikel, Ember’s son, is now a young adult, and Zax’s twins are now teens. The extended family is growing up so fast, much like our current family.

The three eldest Latte children this generation, spend a lot of time hanging out together all on their own. I do not direct these hang outs, they just seem to gravitate to each other.

We end this update with 2 final birthdays. First up is Hjordis, who is officially a young adult, and will either be moving out or taking over depending on the results of the poll. Xjavier, whom I know we didn’t see really at all during his toddler years, is next up and grows into a child.

After a bit of a make-over, here is Xjavier. He grew up looking just like his dad, and his brother Ijtiba. He did manage to get Top-Notch Toddler, even though you never really saw him working on it, and he is Erratic, just like his mom.

With that we are going to call this update, especially as it’s getting a little bit long, and we need to get to the heir poll. It will be up for about a week. Super excited to see who is going to become the next heir.

Before we leave the update, however, here is a look at the current kids who grew up this update. Oliva is Oxkar’s eldest child, next up are Zax’s twins. First Zorro and then Zven. Starting the second row is Paula, Pixey’s daughter, and then Zax’s youngest Arthur. Finally is Pixey’s youngest Isabelle.

Meeple Monopoly – Post 1.01

Rules | Family Tree | Post 1.02

So, yes, this is yet ANOTHER new challenge from me. I know, I know, it’s a sickness. I promise I haven’t given up on my other challenges either, they will keep getting updates too. I just got super excited about the new pack and started some different things.

This is a Board Game challenge, which is basically an 8-generation legacy. Each generation is based off a property set in monopoly and one other board game. You can read more about it in the Rules link above which takes you to the set I’m using to play.

Let’s look at the requirements for Generation One.

GENERATION RULES: The Game of Life

Mediterranean Avenue & Baltic Avenue
Generation 1: Purple
LIFE

  • What better way to start out on your sim’s life journey than with The Game of Life? But, unfortunately for you, life is hard, and this first generation will be no exception. Your sim may only enter one of the six careers that are shared by Life and TS4: entertainer, athlete, detective, doctor, business, & artist. They may never quit or change professions (but they may retire), and if they are fired you must get them back into that profession as soon as possible. Spouses and children may not be employed.
  • You MUST send your sims on a honeymoon/vacation as soon after their wedding as possible. If you have to sell the couch and microwave to afford the rental, so be it.
  • In The Game of Life, players receive a large chunk of money after the birth of each of their children. Well, real life isn’t like that, and for the purposes of this challenge, neither is life in the sims! Kids COST money. A LOT of money. So after the birth of every child, you must SUBTRACT $1,000 dollars from your sims’ household. You may do this via cheats, or by buying one or two expensive decorative objects that you MAY NOT SELL until the next generation takes over. Now just hope you don’t go bankrupt.

So we need a lot of money this generation. Since we can do any of the “Life” careers we are going to pick painting as it’s a great way to get money quickly.

Meet our founder, Jewel Meeple. She is going to take on this first generation of the challenge. Jewel wants to be a Painter Extraordinaire and she is Good, Materialistic, and Family-Oriented.

Since the rules state we have to do a standard legacy start, Jewel buys the newly emptied 50 x 50 lot in Willow Creek, buys the requisite suit of armor and now has 0 simoleans. Yes I could have let her keep 1800, but decided I needed more of a challenge here.

This rough start to life here in Willow Creek isn’t enough to dampen our Jewel here, and she heads out to start fishing. She even catches a fish right away, which, of course, is sold fairly quickly. We do need food, and most fish are not useful for food here.

Next thing Jewel does is make a collection run around her neighborhood. There are lot of snapdragons and rocks to dig. This gives her a couple hundred simoleons at least and will give her some food for dinner as none of the plants were fruit or veggies.

Jewel heads to the park in order to meet some people, see if we can meet any spouse potentials, and have some fun. She also collects a few more plants and rocks as well. Then she sits down for some chess with Dustin Broke, who gets up and leaves pretty quickly after she sits down.

After meeting just about every young adult she could come across Jewel heads over and buys some popcorn shrimp for dinner. It’s not the best meal she’s ever had, but it is food, and it’s better than starving so she sits in the park and eats.

There still isn’t enough money for even a tent after some of the other things she needed to do but Jewel did get a job as a painter. Now we just need to get her an easel. The bench isn’t the most comfortable spot for the night, but life should start looking up for Jewel soon.

The bench did save her from a visit from Vlad, who walked by her empty lot in this outfit. Since she wasn’t “home” but rather sleeping on a bench across the street he didn’t mess with her.

She gets invited out to the Hijinks festival, and since I know you can make some money she invites everyone she knows to go with her. While I know they don’t get as much money, she joins the Jokesters, who win and she had a good evening with a lot of fun to be had. Plus the earned money will be put to good use.

Between the collection runs, the festival, and eating the cheapest food we can find Jewel has managed to afford all of this. It’s not a great start but it is something and now she can start painting to hopefully get some more money coming in.

While she isn’t sleeping outside anymore, having to run to the pubic toilet whenever she needs to go and having almost nothing to her name is starting to weight on Jewel. She splurges on some fish tacos the next day at the park and then get a phone call that gives her about 1000 simoleons because she made the right choice apparently.

After another collection run, while Jewel was in the shower (which is why it isn’t yet in the house) I built this tiny little house for Jewel. She doesn’t have much money left now but at least she won’t be sleeping outside any longer. It’s got a whole two walls, the roof pieces making up the other two.

The bathroom gets rearranged a little bit after this picture, but Jewel now has a very cheep bed and the start of a small little kitchen. It’s pretty good for less than a week in town. Plus, no more running to the park down the street to use the bathroom.

Jewel celebrates her first meal in her new house by making a cheap salad to eat. She has no real seating so she sits on the cooler and ponders the easel. It’s good she is inside as well because we hear a storm starting to rage outside.

A few paintings later we are starting to get more than we are paying for canvases, which helps her paint a little bit more and we post a couple on plopsy in the hopes someone will buy one for much more than the canvas.

The house is getting a couple of decorations, and a brick path was added to lead to the main path through the neighborhood, although it is just some terrain paint, it looks nice. Jewel is well on her way to getting the money she needs to expand and keep growing this generation.

Jewel is in a good enough mood to invite over one of the young adult sims that she met at the park. I cannot remember his name right this moment, but they are hitting it off. He is an art lover and good I believe, although I could be wrong about that. He doesn’t seem to mind the small house.

After Jewel goes to bed he decides to paint, and he even completes the painting. This allows Jewel to sell it off for a decent price later and helps her pay for the loveseat she splurged on in the picture before. She also has managed to sell a painting on Plopsy for a decent amount.

Sadly, Vald visited again and this time he was able to get in a drink from Jewel and he apparently really enjoyed her. This leaves her super drained the next day and Jewel doesn’t get through the whole collection run before heading to work.

She came home and took a nap but was woken up by a phone call asking her out on a date. Of course she says yes and they head out. During dinner Jewel gets up the nerve to give him her very first kiss. I think these two will be fun together.

Before saying goodnight Jewel takes one more chance and surprises him by suggesting they make it official and become boyfriend/girlfriend exclusively. He might be surprised but says yes, and Jewel is super excited. Now she just needs to save up enough money for a wedding and a honeymoon as well.

It might be a little bit before they can afford to get married, but Jewel is super happy to have a boyfriend, and invites him over after work every chance she gets. She has managed to expand the kitchen a tiny bit, and is starting to sell paintings for a decent price now, which should help with the upcoming bills as well.

In the short time Jewel has been here she has come pretty far, managing to get a roof over her head, a small house built up, a job, and a boyfriend. We will probably be proposing soon, which will mean I have to learn his name, but that will wait until the next update.

So far I’m enjoying this challenge, and I really like Jewel. I hope you will enjoy it as well as we continue and I will see you next time!

Roots of Emerson – Post 1.01

Rules | Family Tree | Post 1.02

Well, welcome to yet another challenge started by me. This challenge may not get updated quite as frequently as others, but we’ll see how it goes. It wasn’t grabbing me right away, but I was also biding my time until the Snowy Escape expansion got here, so I’m hoping that might add some additional fun for me.

So I’m going to try a little something different with this blog and we’ll see how it goes, but I hope you enjoy it and let me know if you like it, don’t like it, think of ways it could be better or whatnot. So this is, if you didn’t already know, a Difference in the Family Tree (DITFT) challenge, which means each Gen has a different set of goals. So here are my goals for generation one:

Generation One

“I always wanted to be a farmer. There is a tradition of that in my family. “
Your family was always into the farming deal. They spent their days working hard and asked for their children to do the same. So when you turned 18, your parents surprised you with your own plot of land to continue on tradition. And having always been one to want to impress the folks. You begin creating your own small garden, dedicating your time to that instead of dealing with a dreadful 9-to-5 suit and tie job.

Objectives:
Obtain and plant 20 different types of plant
Get married, but no woohoo before marriage
Have a boy and a girl. Keep trying until you do!
Master Garden Skill
Have and complete one of the nature aspirations

Optional objectives:
Grow a garden with every base game plant in it
Catch every type of fish
Marry a gal/guy with “Loves Outdoors”
Master Fisherman Skill

Ok, so without further ado, let’s get this new challenge under way.

This is Tim Emerson. Tim wants to be a successful farmer like his father, and his grandfather before him. Now he has himself a little plot of land to try and be successful himself.

This is Tim’s house. It is far from completed, and right now has just what he needs, but he hopes to expand it and grow a family into it someday. To find a girl who Love the Outdoors like him is his biggest goal. He also wants a little boy and a little girl to raise.

Tim also is interested in fishing and has learned from his family that fish can make great fertilizer for the garden he is planning on building up. His ultimate goal at this point in his life is to be a wonderful botanist.

These are some of Tim’s neighbors and others from around the world. They bring him fruitcake, which he highly dislikes, but he spends time getting to know them all the same just the same. None of the visitors he has met so far catch his eye, although the spellcaster held a bit of a spell on him for a bit.

Tim begins the day after he gets settled into his new house by collecting seeds, fruits, and flowers from all of the wild plants that grow around his land and around the neighborhood. It provides him with some things to sell to some of the local craftsmen and to plant himself.

Tim is a friendly, cheerful guy, and greets kindly anyone who walks by. Tim is always keeping an eye out for the right girl to become Mrs. Emerson and help him with his dreams for a family.

Tim next tackles clearing the rocks from his property. While clearing he finds some fossils, crystals, and precious stones to sell for some additional money. All of this will help him get started on his farm.

There was a special event happening in town the next day so Tim went down and hung out with some of the people he had met. Tim was getting to know many people from around town, but still no one that struck him as the right person for him.

That night Tim had the strangest dream in which a man in a trench coat, who was very pale and cold, came into his house and hypnotized him. He could feel that something worse was potentially going to happen when he woke with a fright and found everything has it had been.

His dreams the rest of the night were haunted with that pale cold figure, although this time, for some reason, he was cleaning up dirty dishes. When Tim’s alarm went off the next day he noticed the house seemed slightly cleaner, but Tim figured he must have just forgotten he had cleaned up. It had been a rough night of sleep.

Besides, Tim didn’t have time to worry about the house might have gotten cleaner, he had to go take care of the small garden he had forming. He would love to get this garden up to a large, flourishing farm, but that was going to take time, hard word, and patience. After taking care of the plants for the day and ensuring the land was still clear of any stray rocks, Tim decided to head up the coast for a bit.

He traveled to the lighthouse up the coast and visited the museum to learn a little more about the history of the surrounding area. As Tim watched out over the waves he thought back about his dreams and how strange they had seemed. Heading back towards home Tim realized he was a bit hungry and saw a local tavern was open.

Tim sided up to the bar and ordered a drink and some food. He chatted with some of the other locals and visitors of the bar while enjoying his food. Tim realized he had spent many more hours there then he intended to and excused himself to head home.

The night passed dreamlessly and uneventfully for Tim and the next morning was bright and sunny and found Tim in a wonderful mood, all thoughts from the strange dreams wiped from his memory. Tim whistled while he worked away on his garden and thought about fishing that afternoon.

Tim was finding his footing and his plants were starting to grown and flourish on their own. He was far from the size of garden he wanted, which should be at least 20 different types of plants, but everyone has to start somewhere. Even a great oak comes from a small seed. The only thing that could make Tim’s life any happier now was finding someone to share it with.

Otts Family – Bailie 13

Bailie 12 | Rules | Family Tree | Bailie 14

Hello and welcome back after far too long to a new Otts update. As you might remember, right before I switched over to do a summer challenge for boolprop.net, we started an heir poll to see who would be our next heir in this crazy ISBI/Alphabetcy. So let’s start with finding out who that heir is going to be.

The generation C heir is….

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

C

CALVIN OTTS

Yes, that’s right, the youngest kid of this generation is your choice to be the next heir of this challenge. It wasn’t really a close race and here is how the points broke down:

Calvin: 14 points (8 on boolprop, 6 on WP)
Corey: 7 points (3 on boolprop, 5 on WP)
Cordelia: 4 points (3 on boolprop, 1 on WP)
Cedric: 1 point (1 on boolprop)

Unlike last generation, where you, my dear readers, were as conflicted as I was, we had a very clear favorite this time. I would have also loved having Corey or Cordelia or even Cedric, I loved all the kids here but Calvin is moving on as TH. That means we have quite a bit of time before the new generation takes over though, since Calvin is still a child, so let’s get going.

When we first open the house after so many months away I have to reorient myself a bit, and our first order to business is to move Cedric and Corey out. They have been added to the gallery if you want to pop them into your own hood at some point, all my sims are under #ciyrosesims or a hashtag specific to the challenge. We will catch up with them as they progress through their lives here, and this generation has always been close so I doubt it will take them long to visit.

Hey Calvin, working on your homework is good! Welcome to soon to be torch holder status.

Calvin: Um..thanks. Why was I chosen?

I don’t know, we’d have to ask the voters, but you are cute and have some fun traits coming up as you grow up so that is probably why.

Calvin: I’m nervous.

Aww, don’t be. You are going to be great, just keep doing your homework. We want that A.

Calvin: That will make me a good heir like mom?

It’s a great start!

Bailie is still working on her aspiration. You may or may not remember after all this time but Bailie is going for Bodybuilder, but it also lazy, so it’s been tough for her to gain the fitness skill. She has reached level 8 though, so she’s getting close.

Cordelia is still here as well and is being a pretty normal teen sitting down to play some video games. She is getting close to an A in school as well and it would be great to get those points.

You can see that all the work she’s put in is paying off for Bailie. She has actually reached her maximum body potential, before finishing up the fitness level. Adalyn, as always, is right there to cheer her on.

The kids come home the next day from school and we get the awesome news that Cordelia has done it! She got an A and that is +5 points for us. This family has really made up for the disaster that was Alan’s generation.

I’m so sorry Bailie!!!! I totally missed that it was your birthday! Plus your all splotchy!

Bailie: Is that any way to treat your best generations heir?

I know, I know, it’s been too long since I played you guys and I totally missed your birthday was already here too.

Bailie: Well maybe next time you won’t leave of us for so long, and if you don’t mind I want to go back to bed since I don’t feel good.

Cor, I appreciate that you do your homework so diligently every day. You got the A, but I certainly don’t want to lose it.

Cordelia: Well I may not be heir, but it’s ok. I’ll be successful on my own.

That’s my girl! You will, and I’m excited for you to get out in the world!

We got a couple of little mini family updates for you already. The boys, Cedric and Corey are moving into Rockridge Springs already and Claire, Adalyn’s niece is now a teenager.

In an attempt to help little Calvin out with his aspiration we head to the playground. Cordelia talks with some people and Calvin does not cooperate at all. He plays for a handful of minutes, never gets playful and the goes to chat with people. I use Bailie to try and influence him to play some more and nothing. So we give up for the day and head home before anyone passes out or pees themselves.

Brodie is joining us for the evening, having stopped by. Hi Brodie!! He is, like his brother, a confirmed bachelor at this point. Bailie is the only child of her generation to have kids, which is pretty crazy for me.

Bailie is working hard on some books still and she still needs to get up to level 10 to finish up her writing career. She also is trying to paint, and the family is still not flush with money, but can at least pay the bills. They are slowly building up a bit of a nest egg, and hopefully Calvin will be able to add to it.

Adalyn is still an amazing mom and will talk to her kids about almost anything. She is so very close to reaching the maximum level in parenting, but we’ll see if she makes it or not.

Cordelia: Mama spends a pretty decent about of time writing books, especially fitness books.

Adalyn: Oh yes, she does. It’s really her passion in life dear.

Why thank you Calvin for cleaning up. The sink was even repaired so this actually makes a big difference.

Calvin: Doing what I can to help.

You have already won the heir poll. I don’t want you to start passing out or anything, but the heir is going to be you regardless.

Calvin: I know, but I still want to help. I have to live here too.

Very true kid.

With that I’m going to call this update and do a wrap up. This play session was entirely too long in the making, but at the same time, we have been very successful so far and I’m super happy about it!

EPIC Tripp: It’s Just Business – 6.01

Wrap | Rules | Family Tree | Post 6.02

Hello, and it is so good to be back to the EPIC Tripp again. I know it has been far too long since I was able to update this, and it’s good to be back. Last time we wrapped up the end of generation 5 and we are heading into generation 6. Let’s take a look at the goals for this generation.

These goals seem pretty simple compared to the last one with the choices we had to make, and I think Bonnie is going to end up going into Business. I had considered if I was going to have her get married or not, but I think I probably will. I have some plans for the end of this challenge, but we have a few generations to go first.

So the first thing that happens as soon as we enter the lot is Miranda heads out to the glowing lights. She takes a ride on the spaceship and is brought back later. We don’t have any ability for females to get pregnant by aliens in this challenge, so there was no fear there.

She had her familiar with her, but apparently they don’t get to go on the spaceships. Her familiar looks so confused as to why all that is left are are glowing lights. He patiently waits for her in that exact spot until she returns.

Abby heads out with Lindsay and Lara’s ghosts to play around on the water slide. All three of these ladies are getting pretty good and enjoy doing “tricks” down the slide. It’s funny to watch the criminal boss enjoying trick sliding down a water slide, but each to their own.

Remington is still around and a very pretty cat. Abby takes time to pamper the sweet cat with a good brushing. He is actually rather pampered overall, but sometimes they get busy and forget to spend enough time with him.

While Bonnie needs to get into business at some point, her aspiration is about having a jungle adventure, so we start off by taking her to the jungle. Might as well get her through her aspiration first, or at least the parts that require her to travel. So out she goes and we start by excavating dirt piles around town.

She completes a level of her aspiration pretty quickly. We are also on a bit of a spouse hunt. So far, no one has caught our eyes, but we are looking. Since Miranda came from Selvadorada I thought Bonnie might find someone here.

Back at home it was Harvestfest and so Abby and Miranda are spending some time together, and checking off traditions. They haven’t ever been super lovey with each other, and they have a marriage more of convenience than passionate love, but they love each other in their own ways and holidays are a good time to spend time together and connect a little more.

The cat also gets some special treatment for the holiday.

Abby: Whose a good little cat??? Yeah, whose a good boy?

Remington: Meow, meeerow

Abby: Yes, that’s right, it’s you. You are the sweet little cat, my good little boy.

Back in the jungle it’s still HarvestFest and Bonnie takes care of the gnomes that pop up around her rental home. It doesn’t take her very long and then it’s time to head out to the jungle again.

Bonnie cuts through the forest making her way to the temple, and uses every trick she has at her disposal to gather any treasures she can. The bees were particularly irritating during this trip, but luckily we had plenty of flowers.

When Bonnie made it to the temple she started to pass through all the different tests. She doesn’t have all of the skills needed, but she has enough to normally get it knocked down to the right device, and only a couple of options to try.

After getting all the way through the temple Bonnie heads back to town to grab some food. Still no potential spouses have been found, so we might not be finding a spouse for her here in Selvadorada. With this all taken care of Bonnie can finish most of the rest of her aspiration from home, and maybe we’ll find a spouse in the new Mt. Komorebi.

She did manage to pick up a blessing while out in the jungle, and so when she gets home she gets to sleep soundly and happily in her bed. With her aspiration almost completed now it’s time to focus on spouse hunting and getting through business. Her connections to the criminal underworld will likely be helpful there.

Abby’s mom and grandfather are out haunting again tonight. Lara has been quite active lately and while I am tired to fixing sinks and tubs nearly ever day it is nice to see them so often again. Plus, they aren’t always breaking things, they can be very helpful as well.

Belle comes out a bit later as well and heads straight to the violin of course. Her son-in-law Ferdinando watches her play. I’m with you Ferdinando, I could watch her play for hours. I’ve seen other sims play the violin and they have similar movements, but there is something special to me about watching Belle.

With Bonnie returned, everything starts to get back to normal with the family. Bonnie begins her bonding and taking care of the bees, while Miranda and Abby help with the garden itself. Cornelius is still back there and as healthy as ever. He is the most well cared for cowplant I think I’ve ever had.

Once all the chores are through Bonnie heads out to multiple locations spouse hunting. This sim is the most likely candidate at the moment. He’s a young adult and I don’t remember his name at the moment, but he was protesting at the location Bonnie was visiting. He may be too good for Bonnie, seeing as how she is evil, but we will see. I want to take them to Mt. Komorebi at some point soon, they certainly have the money, but that will be next update.

I know this update is a little bit shorter, but we are getting back into the swing of this blog, and there are many updates getting scheduled to come your way, so please check back soon. Next time we will see Bonnie start through her business career trek, probably vacation in the new pack, and hopefully find a husband. See you next time!

Latte Game – Generation 3.09

Generation 3.08 | Rules | Family Tree | Generation 3.10

Holy cow it has been so long since I’ve been able to welcome you back to the Latte’s! With my summer challenge over and my work project getting a little bit easier to juggle it’s time to get back to my sims. I have missed my families, and I hope you are excited to have some new updates.

Since it has been so very long since we were last with the family, here is a quick recap: The kids all worked on their aspirations, Ijtiba grow into a fussy toddler, Zorah passed away, Hjordis grew into a teen, Halix got pregnant for the final time, and that was about it, so let’s hop in!

I’m going to start with this look at the way the family is right this moment, Lowitja, Easton, Ijtiba, Halix, Zophi, Hjorid, and Amarja. We are ready t see what the final baby is. If we keep with family tradition it should be another boy, although Zophi didn’t fully follow that, we’ll see.

We will actually start out with some family updates first. Ixael (Halix’s younger brother) is now an adult, and Xander, Oxkar’s son, is a child, while Yenifer’s little boy, Youssef, is also a child now.

Zophi and Halix both go in and sit on one of the kids beds where Amarja is trying too get her homework done for the day.

Zophi: Halix, do you really need to eat in here?

Halix: mmm ttrwwing to holp

Amarja: I’m good guys, thanks for the help, see all done.

I secretly think Amarja said that just to get out of there, but she does just breeze through homework at this point.

What is it with all of you wanting to eat in the bedroom today?

Easton: Leave me out of this, I was just leaving.

Hjordis: It’s where everyone else is!

Ijtiba: Bunny, I go to school soon. I learn maf like daddy.

Easton: *thinking* My boy is so smart…he’s going to be a bit of a nerd probably…wait, am I a nerd? I do like chess, and I am an astronaut…

Relax Easton, there is no problem with being smart and attractive here, and Ijtiba will be successful I’m sure, and well like.

Easton: Oh good, wait, you can hear my thoughts???!!!

Well, I can see your thought bubbles, so kind of….sometimes it’s hard to interpret though.

As in nearly ANY sim household dancing is a big past time. Father and son dance together and Easton has to be getting close to that body builder aspiration. It takes a secure man, or maybe just a sim man, to be comfortable in his boxers with his mother-in-law in the room.

Zophi: I could probably handle him being less secure.

Zophi is, I think, starting to feel her age. She is spending a lot of time with her granddaughters lately, and with her grandson too.

We get a quick update to let us know that Pixey is pregnant with her second child, although first with her husband.

Then it’s time to say, Happy Winterfest, again and much of the family is invited over for dinner and presents, and you get your first look at the very pregnant Halix this update. She is becoming very uncomfortable and would very much like to be done being pregnant.

Amarja manages to finish up her second aspiration, Whiz Kid, and starts on another, Artistic Prodigy. She isn’t likely to get super close since she will be a teen soon, but she is close to maxing creativity already.

Hjordis steps up as a big sister and starts to take care of her youngest sibling by reading him to sleep. There was a bit of a “fight” for who would end up putting him to bed and Hjordis “won.”

This might still be Winterfest, or I could be New Years, not completely sure here, but Harvey is out haunting, which makes Zophi happy. All of her boys are here as well, Zax, Ixael, and Oxkar.

Halix: Hmmmm….I’m feeling a bit of cramping…..and I think my water just broke. Hey mom, can you go with me to the hospital since Easton is at work?

You are rather calm about this birth.

Halix: Well, at this point, why panic? I’ve been through it before.

A quick check in at the front desk and Halix just lay calmly in the birthing machine ready to welcome her final child. It’s a little boy and he is name Xjavier. Welcome to the family little Xjavier Latte!

Once Halix and the new baby come home Zophi heads out to visit Ember. Her son Ethan is now a young adult and it’s time to flag him. We also meat his brother, Mikel, who is currently a teen.

It’s time for yet another birthday.

Christie: Welcome to the party, how do you know Amarja? I’m her…sort of cousin.

Yes, Christine, I know who you are, I’ve watched over this family since before you were born..

Pixie: Yeah, that’s just the watcher.

Since you all might have guessed who this birthday is for by now, let’s get to the cake. Happy Birthday Amarja, and after a make-over she really is quite beautiful, and very different from her older sister. I do love this families genetics.

While I feel like this update is a little shorter than they sometimes are this also feels like a terrific place to end this update. Let’s have a quick family “mug shot” collection first!

It’s a pretty small update collage this time around, but since we had missed Mikel’s grow up notice, I think, here he is. He is Ember’s youngest boy and we saw him a little earlier. Next up is Oxkar’s boy, Xander, whom we saw the grow up message for at the beginning of the update. He’s a cute boy. Finally, we have the “ooops” baby for Yennifer. She is Yuri’s daughter, and Youssef is his grandson. He’s a super skinny little boy, but while he was an angelic toddler, he’s now mean.

That’s it for the family this time, but thank you so much for joining me again and I hope to get more updates out soon, and we are inching closer to a new heir poll as well, so watch for that too!

Comic Summer: Wrap-Up

Post 4.02 | Rules | Family Tree

Welcome back for our final post for this OWBC (Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge). It’s been a fairly crazy ride and I’m glad you decided to stick it out and read through all of it as I got through this challenge. So let’s go over everything and see how we did!

So way back in June when we started this challenge these were what I picked to do:

Island Living (9 points total)

  • Have your founder choose a lot in Mua Pel’am, restore the island, and keep it clean for the remainder of the challenge. (3 points)
  • Your founder needs to compete the beach life aspiration. Your subsequent heirs should complete at least one nature aspiration each. (3 points)
  • By the end of the challenge, both the buried treasure and seashell collections should be complete. (3 points)

Jungle Adventures (9 points total)

  • Founder/ALL heirs must go to Selvadorada to find their spouse…they must be a local. No going to Selvadorada and coming back with a townie who also happened to be on vacation! (3 Points)
  • By end of challenge, one of the Ancient artifact collections need to be complete. (3 Points)
  • Founder/heir must build a relic and use it on someone outside the family. (3 Points)

Realm of Magic (9 points total)

  • Have your founder and all following heirs become a spellcaster. They will need to be turned in game, or born to a previous heir, they can not be made in CAS. (3 points)
  • At the end of the challenge, your final heir should have the ancient bloodline trait. (3 points)
  • Win a duel with each of the three sages. (3 points)

BoolProp Naming Scheme (10 Points)
Naming the first generation’s three children names that start with B, O and O. The second generation’s children would be given names that start with L, P and R. The third generation’s children would be given names that start with O, P and N (for .net, of course!). If twins are born they count as one letter, tough bananas! Name them both with the letter the one child would have been assigned and then you must have another child. So if I had my first generation heir have a boy that I named Larry, then a set of twins I would name them Peter and Paula, because they only count for one letter, I would then have to have them try for another baby to get a Rachel. Additional children born/adopted whether intentionally or accidentally are considered outside the naming scheme and can be named whatever you want.

One Bad Apple (10 Points)
Every generation one of your children will just plain be a bad apple. You get to choose which child it is at birth. Once chosen you cannot change it. A bad apple cannot be controlled until they become a young adult. You can not select your bad apple until they are a teen. You may not view their needs or skills, you may not view anything that you cannot already see with all of the interface fully collapsed. As a child and teen you cannot control them at all. At this point you may also just move them out so they can be controlled by story progression. Having the Bad Apple be taken by a social worker or die before reaching young adult causes you to lose this mini-challenge. You may purchase aspiration rewards that your Bad Apple has rightfully earned. Bonus bonus points if your bad apple earns negative character traits!

Matriarch (10 Points)
You must have your female founder and each of the heiress’ get her three pregnancies from someone outside of the family. You may not marry the father (or mother) or move them in. The heir must be female so strawberries are your friend.

Family Scrapbook (10 Points)
Every member of the family must have either their picture taken, portrait painted (paint from reference) and hung somewhere about the house. You can choose the age or do multiple ages, take group shots or individual pictures, it’s up to you. Your house must contain a picture of everyone that has ever lived in the house by the end of the challenge. Also, each generation, starting with the founder, must write one novel, to keep track of the family’s memories. In total four novels must be written: one by the founder and one by each of the three heirs (first gen, second gen, third gen).

On Ley, Not the Lonely (10 Points)
At the beginning of the challenge you must enable the On Ley Line lot trait, and leave it on for the entire challenge. You must woohoo and give birth on your home lot for the entirety of the challenge. Multiple children will only count as one pregnancy and each generation must still have three pregnancies. Each pregnancy will count as one letter if you are doing the Boolprop Naming Theme mini-challenge. Each child born during the challenge will also need to have at least one character trait (positive or negative) upon finishing their teen years.

Obviously, fairly early on we realized that we had already screwed up and couldn’t do On Ley, Not the Lonely as we hadn’t had babies at home, nor could we do Matriarch as we married Desiree right away. So I decided to do the crazy thing and tackle these:

Workaholics Anonymous (15 Points)
Top any 10 career tracks with any combination of household members!

Aspirational Family (20 Points)
Complete all base game aspirations at least once!

Tricks of the Trade (20 Points)
Max all base game skills at least once, with any combination of household members!

Yes, I was a bit insane, but we managed to accomplish all of it. Let’s run through this a little bit:

Island Living required we cleaned up the island in Sulani, which we did in the first generation. Autumn completed the Beach Life aspiration and then each of the heirs completed a Nature aspiration. Olive and Oriole complete Purveyor of Potions, and Rye completed The Curator. We also finished both the seashell and buried treasure collections.

That provide us with all 3 sets of points for Island Living: +9 Points.

Jungle Adventures required that all spouses came from Selvadorada and be natives (meaning they already had Selvadorada culture maxed). Autumn married Desiree, Olive married Fabiana, and Rye married Analisa, each of whom was a native.

Then Autumn, Olive, Rye, and Oriole had to build a relic and use it on someone outside of the household, which they all did. Finally an artifact collection needed to be completed and we completed the Ancient Omiscan Artifacts.

That completes all 3 sets of points for Jungle Adventures: +9 Points

Realm of Magic, our final selected challenge, required all heirs, and the founder to become (either in game or born) spellcasters Autumn became a spellcaster in the first generation and each heir, Olive, Rye, and Oriole, were born spellcasters. Additionally the final heir needed to have Ancient Bloodline, which Oriole did.

Finally a duel was to be won against each of the sages. Oceana took care of this for us in the second generation.

That completes all 3 sets of points for Realm of Magic: +9 points

The Boolprop Naming Scheme was kept throughout the challenge. We had: Brook/Blossom, Olive, Orca/Oceana, Lily/Lavender, Petunia, Rye/Reed, Oriole/Oryx, Pine, Nerine/Nyala. That is +10 points

One Bad Apple meant there was a child each generation that I could not control, look, or have any “contact” with really until they were a YA sim. I kept this having a bad apple each gen. Olive for gen 1, Petunia for gen 2, and Pine for gen 3. That is +10 points

Family Scrapbook meant each sim needed to have their picture hanging in the house somewhere, and each heir had to write a book. I created “scrapbook” walls for this specific purpose:

The books are sitting on the top of the shelves, but you can see we have each person’s picture and a book written by each heir, and the founder. +10 Points

The super mini-challenges were much harder to complete and took a lot of time and devotion to sitting sims down to skill and do stuff.

Workaholic Anonymous mean maxing any 10 careers, and careers determined to mean, the base career, not the difference branches. This was accomplished by:

  • Autumn: 1 career (Conservation)
  • Fabiana: 1 career (Gardening)
  • Blossom: 1 career (Writing)
  • Brook: 1 career (Style Influencer)
  • Olive: 1 career (Education)
  • Oceana: 2 careers (Tech Guru, Criminal)
  • Lily: 1 career (Critic)
  • Reed: 1 career (Actor)
  • Rye: 1 career (Engineer)

That is 10 unique careers maxed and that is +15 points.

Aspirational Family changed a bit while I was playing so that you only were required to complete all of the base game aspirations and not all of the aspirations. This made it easier and was accomplished by the following:

  • Autumn: 1 BG aspiration (Fabulously Wealthy)
  • Desiree: 1 BG aspiration (Renaissance Sim)
  • Olive: 4 BG aspirations (Bodybuilder, Big Happy Family, Successful Lineage, Master Chef)
  • Fabiana: 1 BG aspiration (Freelance Botanist)
  • Blossom: 1 BG aspirations (Bestselling Author)
  • Brook: 1 BG aspirations (Painter Extraordinaire)
  • Oceana: 5 BG aspirations (Chief of Mischief, Public Enemy, Master Mixologist, Computer Whiz, Joke Star)
  • Orca: 1 BG aspiration (Serial Romantic)
  • Lily: 2 BG aspirations (Musical Genius, Party Animal)
  • Lavender: 2 BG aspirations (Mansion Barron, Nerd Brain)
  • Petunia: 1 BG aspiration (Angling Ace)
  • Rye: 2 BG aspirations (Soulmate, The Curator)
  • Reed: 1 BG aspiration (Friend of the World)

That totals up to 23 aspirations, which is how many BG aspirations there are unless you count the kid aspirations, which were completed at least once across all of the kids. So that gives us +20 Points

The final super mini challenge we took on, Tricks of the Trade was a call to complete all skills at least once. We did manage this by the following:

  • Autumn: 3 unique skills maxed (Archeology, Cooking, Logic)
  • Desiree: 1 unique skill maxed (Selvadoradian Culture)
  • Fabiana: 4 unique skills maxed (Flower Arranging, Gardening, Parenting, Vampire Lore)
  • Blossom: 3 unique skills maxed (Media Production, Wellness, Writing)
  • Brook: 4 unique skills maxed (Dancing, Handiness, Painting, Photography)
  • Orca: 1 unique skill maxed (Charisma)
  • Olive: 4 unique skills maxed (Baking, Fitness, Gourmet Cooking, Research and Debate)
  • Oceana: 6 unique skills maxed (Comedy, DJ Mixing, Mischief, Mixology, Programming, Video Gaming)
  • Lily: 7 unique skills maxed (Bowling, Guitar, Knitting, Piano, Pipe Organ, Singing, Violin
  • Lavender: 1 unique skill maxed (Rocket Science)
  • Petunia: 1 unique skill maxed (Fishing)
  • Reed: 2 unique skills maxed (Acting, Veterinarian)
  • Rye: 2 unique skills maxed (Herbalism, Robotics)
  • Analisa: 1 unique skill maxed (Pet Training)

There are 40 skills in the game for the packs that I have (which leaves out the 2 Eco skills) and if I can math correctly, the count above if 40, which gives us +20 points.

Since no one was ever taken by a social worker there are no negative points for that and we get +3 points for just finishing the challenge, and sharing/blogging it.

If I add up all of those points together:

Island Living: 9
Jungle Adventure: 9
Realm of Magic: 9
Naming Scheme: 10
Bad Apple: 10
Scrapbook: 10
Workaholic: 15
Aspirational: 20
Tricks of the Trade: 20
Finishing/Blogging: 3

TOTAL POINTS: 115 Points

While this score will not be good enough to beat Jenn’s insane 145 points, I feel very good about this score and am happy to have completed this challenge. I hope this post didn’t bore you too much and a lot of it was for me to make sure I added up the score properly, so if you see something wrong in my math let me know!

Thank you again for all of those who have been reading along this whole time, or if you are new and just read through this whole story, thank you as well, for taking the time to read and follow and comment if you did that. Now we can get back to some of our other stories, which I hope you will check out as well!

Comic Summer: Post 4.02

Post 4.01 | Rules | Family Tree | Wrap-up

Welcome back once again to Comic Summer. We are winding down this challenge and have completed all of our goals. I’m not even going to post my generation requirements this time as there is nothing left to do but to have the girls become young adults, so let’s see if we can finish this thing up!

We start with Oriole having a duel with one of the sages. I was hoping to get some knowledge because here is what has happened. Nerine got herself a curse from failing a potion, so Oriole went to learn the potion of curse cleansing.

I just love how this pictures makes it look like Analisa is looking at her achievement.

Analisa: I managed to learn to dance as an elder.

Yes you did, although you already knew HOW, you are just now very skilled at it

Analisa: But why is my name wrong? There is no space.

I know, but I had to change it so I could save your without warnings about your name being “unallowed.”

With the girls, and technically Pine, still in school and Oriole starting at the university, there is still lots of homework to be done and everyone is very diligent at working on it.

This is Oriole’s class load for this semester. Since he’s only going to get through this one I decided to give me four. I love that you an take an elective dance class, so we did that! 🙂

The family updates were a little insane this time. The triplets and Marigold grew in toddlers, multiple of the child grew up, and Daisy is having a baby with her husband.

Our sweet boy, Basil, is out haunting again and Oriole takes time to give him all the attention he needs. I really love this dog, he’s so sweet!

Then it’s off to university where he attends class, does some homework, and participates in a debate. The debate didn’t go so great, but it was done on a whim, so there wasn’t much preparation put in.

More homework is being done back at home and we can see Analisa cooking up something back there. We still have a plethora of food in the fridge from Olive so what could it be?

Why it’s a cake for Pine, who is ready to fly the nest. He blows out his candles, spins into a Young Adult, and decides to go live with his uncle Reed’s wife and son to help them out. He manages to get two positive character traits in the form of Compassionate and Mediator. He adds Hates Children to Child of the Ocean and Lazy. He had B’s all through school and was a pretty successful ‘bad apple’ overall.

Lily and Oceana were out today and I think Lily was making Oceana made, which did not make for happy plumbing. We were still remember to fix things at noon, or I just simply bought new stuff, which started happening frequently.

A bunch more updates from around the family and one of which makes us realize it was good we moved Pine where we did. Hope, Reed’s wife, passed away and that would have left their son Cotton to be adopted.

Nerine is still working on scouting badges, and got this rather pretty, and one I don’t remember, painting. It’s really quite fun and I believe I kept this one to hang in the house.

This set is just to say, I had Oriole out fishing for Anglefish, and apparently this is a good spot for it. I also never realized how pretty it is back here with the steamboat and stuff. So why was Oriole fishing for Anglefish, well Nerine is still cursed. Not only does she have the curse she had, but once Oriole learned the curse cleansing potion the “sample” he got and gave to her gave her ANOTHER curse, and they were out of Anglefish. Luckily he catches what he needs and she is all better after this.

Or, well, at least she’s no longer cursed. Instead she gets sick and has to take some medication. Poor thing has had a rough go lately.

Oriole finally gets a familiar, this is Sunbird I believe, the phoenix. I think he suits Oriole just fine.

Homework and studying of some kind is almost never done around here as the family plugs along towards the end of this challenge.

Some of the family goes to visit Pine and Cotton and you can see poor Nerine is sick yet again. That poor girl got so sickly here towards the end. It was a nice, if fairly short, visit.

Nerine has gotten to know Tulip better and now they hang out together fairly often. It’s sort of fun to have the cousins together a little bit.

So the first two pictures are from the longest breakfast in the history of the sims. Analisa got up and made fresh pancakes, which was quite a treat, and the 3 kids were all at the table too. Analisa and Rye, at different times, got up and hugged each of the kids. So they would all sit down, Analisa would get up with Nyala and give her a hug, then they would sit back down, then Rye would get up with Nyala and give her a hug too, and then they would sit back down. It took HOURS. Then the teens invited over a bunch of cousins for movie watching.

A small extended family set of updates, but not a smaller family. Jay’s wife Kyra passes as their son Wasp ages up, and then Cyprus finally marries, and Daisy get’s a set of triplets all her own.

The family decides to get everyone together from the family that they can and throws a big house party/family reunion and many members attend.

Right after the party, sadly, Rye gets struck by lightning and then passes away. He actually passed away from old age, but you can’t help but think that the lightning didn’t help. The whole family is very sad.

It’s not all bad as Oriole gets himself straight A’s in college and then signs up for 3 more classes, which he won’t get to complete.

That doesn’t stop him from getting a head start on homework, especially as it gives him something to do to take his mind off losing his dad.

Another large set of family updates is here again. Daisy’s triplets are now toddlers, and many of the other kids have gotten older, including Tulip and Thyme.

And so one more party is thrown, ice cream is made and enjoyed, family is brought over to celebrate. It’s not only a big birthday party, but the celebration of the end of this challenge.

Our final kids are now young adults and ready to head out into the world. Nyala completed her scouting aptitude, got Responsible and Compassionate, and added Genius to her traits. Nerine also got her scouting aptitude, achieved Good Manners and Responsible, and added squeamish to her traits.

With that this challenge officially comes to an end and we will send it off with a final extended family collection. Let’s run through these guys really quickly. First row we have Stratus as a child, he’s the son of Glen and Cherish. Next up is Cyprus’ wife Karly. Beside Karly is Buttercup as a child, then Daisy’s triplets, Verbena, Poppy, and Grizzly. Finally on the top row we have Cherry, and her twin Doe starts the next line. They are Rose’s twin girls. Next to Doe is Wasp, Jay’s son, then Crow, Glen’s son. Next is Honey, Cyprus’ youngest, and then we have a grown up Cotton followed by the twins Barley and Blade. On the bottom row we start with Marigold, Hawk’s daughter, then we have Robin, Cyprus’ other daughter, and Dove, Jay’s daughter. To wrap up the final row we have Lake’s triplets, Mazus, Lupine, and Aster, and last but not least, Rose’s son Lark.

Thanks for sticking with me through all of this challenge and I will have a wrap up post here in just a few minutes if it’s not there already!

  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have the Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take final picture

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (10 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (40 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (27 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So last time with the family we finished that final base game aspiration and got Oriole through the relic requirement. We just have a few more things to complete and so let’s see if we can get through them here.

The party we had thrown for the boys continued a little into the night at after it was over Oryx moved out and into his own home. He is out in the world for MCCC to determine if anything more will happen with him.

Pine gets his picture taken for the family scrapbook wall and we only need 3 more to complete that challenge. Once the girls become teens and then one of Oriole now that he is heir and gets his book written.

Speaking of books, it takes a couple of sit downs at the computers, and a few distractions, but Oriole gets his part of the anthology completed. That’s another goal down for him and we really just need to get him through his aspiration.

I had forgotten to mention it earlier but Analisa managed to actually complete Super Parent when Oryx grew up with his three character value traits. in the positive. Both her and Rye have gotten the Big Happy Family one next.

We started to get “bored” right around here since there wasn’t a ton to do left but to wait for everyone to grow up so we watched the extended family updates a lot. A couple pairs of the twins grew up, Lake, who is Petunia’s oldest, is having a baby, and Reed’s boy is a child.

Apparently something was causing issues with completing chess games for a while. The girls both were nearly maxed mental skill after hours of sitting at the chess table, but had made zero progress on the aspiration, so I just said “forget it.”

Oriole, while working on potions, managed to curse himself with some sort of frightening curse. I can’t remember exactly what it was, but luckily he had a Curse Cleansing potion from before. It fixed him right up in no time.

Kyra, Jay’s wife, is now an elder, while Ivy, Bay’s only girl, is now a teen, and we had some deliveries too. Birch now has a second daughter, and Rose had twins!

This might have been TV premier night, but I can’t remember, but certainly most of the family gathered together. Nerine might be working on scouting badges.

For some reason I think Pine has started asking Oriole for advise instead of his parents. I get asking your older brother, but Oriole doesn’t have the parenting skills to give me many options.

With Oriole’s book done we adjusted the walls a little bit to put the shelf up so it could be center and not in the corner like before. We also got Oriole’s picture up and all that’s left is the girls.

Speaking of the girls it was time for their birthday once again. Both of them completed a single aspiration since Whiz Kid broke and we didn’t force a new one. Their make-overs completed and I’m showing a secondary outfit to what they had in the poll. Nyala adds slob and creatively gifted to her mean trait. She rolls Fabulously Wealthy for her aspiration. Nerine adds materialistic and socially gifted to her goofball trait, and rolls Jungle Explorer for her aspiration.

Then, of course, in true sims fashion they do their homework together sitting on the bathroom floor. Could have walked across the “hall” to the table, but oh well. It’s nice to know some things, like the importance of bathrooms in a sims life, never really change.

Oriole has taken up much of the gardening, and while he’s out there he practices a little magic. I haven’t gotten him a familiar yet, but want to do that at some point.

These two are still very sweet and very much in love with each other. They might be rivaling Autumn and Desiree as my favorite couple this challenge.

Sadly the family is ready to go through another sad period where many of our elder sims start to pass away. We start with Rye’s twin, Reed passing. Then Misty, Orca’s daughter is next, but then we get a happy birthday to Oak.

With the girls becoming teens we are able to get their pictures and finish up our family scrapbook walls. That means they are all completed and we have finished that mini-challenge. I’m quite happy with how the walls turned out.

Then Oriole goes and finishes up the final requirement for this challenge other than the girls becoming young adults. He finishes a nature aspiration and just to give me, and him, something to do he takes on Academic next.

One of the first things Oriole needed to do was to gain research and so he heads up to work on his grandma Olive’s research machine.

Oryx comes over for a visit and the whole family gathers, although I’m not sure where Rye is at this moment, maybe he’s taking the picture. The siblings are happy to see Oryx again and hang out.

Then, while Nerine works on her arts and crafts badge upstairs, Oriole argues about college with his parents. Not in terms of where to go, or how to pay for it, but more, what to study. Since it’s the end of the challenge he won’t complete anything, but hopefully it will still be fun.

Lots of extended family updates happen then and some craziness ensues as well. First Cyprus is now an adult, and then Hawk and Danna welcome a little girl. Buttercup, Birch’s daughter, is now a toddler, Lake and Esmeralda welcome TRIPLETS to the extended family. Rose’s twin daughter, Cherry and Doe, are toddlers, and finally, Kellie, Wade’s wife, passes away leaving Barley and Blade to be adopted out. When I went to look for these two Barley was gone. He was no longer in the family tree, nothing. So I ended up going back to a previous save, pulling him out of it and adding him back in. Then I had both boys move in with their older brothers instead and messed up all kinds of the relationships trying too fix everything in this branch of the family.

Regardless of all of that though, it was time for one more birthday for this update and it’s Analisa’s turn. There isn’t a ton of fanfare because I almost forgot to make her a cake, but she is now an elder like her husband.

Analisa’s birthday feels like a great place to end this update and so it’s once again time too review all the people who have grown up or come into this crazy family.

On the top row we find Averie Adair, who married Bay. Next two her are two of our baby mama’s, Danna Padilla who had Hawk’s baby, and Esmeralda Yost, who just had triplets with Lake. Next up a couple sets of twins. First is Tulip and Thyme, Petunia’s twins. Second row we start with Elm and then Eagle, Bay’s twins. Then we have their siblings Oak, who is the youngest, and Ivy, the only girl. Last up on that middle row we have Cotton, Reed’s boy.

Finally, on the bottom row we have all the toddlers from this update. We start with Rose’s twins, Cherry and then Doe. Next is a closer look at Buttercup, Birch’s youngest, and then finally we have Honey Farr, who is Cyprus’ daughter, and finally Crow Dolan, who is Glen’s youngest.

That will wrap up our update for this time and I hope we will see you next update where I think we will likely finish up this challenge.

Post 3.12 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 4.01

Hello and welcome back to another update for the Comic Summer. We are down to a couple of updates left. I’m not sure if we’ll have 3 or 4 updates left, but we are close. So last time we announced that Oriole was the final heir of the challenge. So let’s look at our final requirements:

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

Generation Three Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have the Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take final picture

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (10 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (40 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So I just removed the “on-going” challenges from the second generations requirements, and moved them down to the final generation requirements. We have already marked off the being a spellcaster and having ancient bloodline as Oriole has had those since birth. Let’s get going.

We start with our girls becoming best friends, which isn’t terribly hard to do with twins, and gets us closer to finishing up Nerine’s social butterfly aspiration. It’s so nice to have twins who are friends with each other for this aspiration.

It’s another homework and journaling party for the kids. Analisa needs one of the kids to get 3 positive character traits, so we are taking the kids volunteering and writing in journals whenever we can.

Then it’s a super sad evening as our loyal and wonderful dog, Basil, passes into the next life. We will miss you Basil, Analisa especially!!! It was too soon!

We set up a special table on the balcony upstairs with the rest or our urns. Basil was a wonderful dog and I know the family is going to miss him terribly.

Since Nerine needs to make friends with additional adults we invite over members of the family. Rose heads up stairs and talks with Nerine and you can see in the background one of the family scrapbook walls.

It’s time again for some additional extended family updated, and we have quite a few this time. Cyprus and Glen are Wade’s oldest sons and they are both going to have babies for their own. Then Birch finally gets married, and Daisy, whom I had figured was going to be single all her life, married her long time roommate Vincent Dreamer.

Nerine continues to try and make friends with the family members who are over. This time it’s Jay and Petunia. She doesn’t quite become friends with either of them, but she is getting close.

It’s back to Winterfest once again and the family gathers to celebrate. They share a grand meal cooked by Analisa, Nerine works on her friendship with Jay and presents are opened. It’s a good time by all.

That evening the boys head out to go finish and try to finish up their outdoor adventure badges. It does finally work and both boys finish up their badges and reach Llamacorn Scout.

Sadly, that evening we find out that Petunia has passed away. Then a couple of our kids are teens, Buck is Misty’s son, and Aspen is Birch’s daughter.

Then we finally get notice that Rye has completed our final aspiration. He achieved the Soulmate goals and we are not just counting down until the girls turn into young adults.

We have a little ways to go with that though, and Pine sort so surprises up by growing up his the toddlers bedroom without fanfare. Sorry Pine. Here he is after his make-over. He obviously never got through a child aspiration, but he gets Child of the Ocean trait, and Friend of the animals as an aspiration.

Additionally updates are here again, this time Birch’s twin Bay is getting married, Kyra and Jay welcome a new little girl named Dove, Cherish and Glen welcome a little boy name Stratus, and Hope, Reed’s wife, has turned into an elder.

Additional time with multiple members of the expanded family get Nerine through more of her social butterfly aspiration. She is also getting to know Blade and Barley, Wade’s youngest two kids with his wife. Then she traveled to meet and get to know Tulip and Thyme.

Thankfully shortly after getting home Nerine finishes up her aspiration by finishing up her social skill. She next chooses the go for Whiz Kid, and she might have enough time to complete it.

Oriole heads to the magic realm again and while he is there we decide to go ahead and put together one of the relics, and then use one on someone in the next room. This completes one of the requirements for him.

It’s New Years again and Reed comes over to celebrate with the family. Everyone makes their resolutions and they enjoy the new years programs on television. It was a good night for the family and it’s hard to believe there is another year down.

After the new year turns over we get a visit from our lovely boy Basil. Oryx was happy to see Basil and spent some good time petting him and playing with him in his ghost form.

Time for our final update about the extended family for this update and this time Rose and her husband are expecting, Birch and his new wife are expending, and finally little Dove, Jay’s daughter is a toddler now.

It’s time for the much anticipated birthdays that will spell the final transition to the final generation’s goals for this challenge. After blowing out the candles, and the family did throw a bit of a party, Oriole and Oryx are now young adults. Oryx gets the final traits of Active, Responsible, Emotional Control, and Compassionate. Oriole gets his traits Perfectionist and Responsible.

We are going to get ready too this update but first we will go through all the extended family members we have added or who grew up this time. First up we have the newest baby mama’s and spouses. Anita Dolan is Glen’s newest baby mama, and Maren Farr is Cyprus’. Next to them is Birch’s wife Lucille Kealoha, and of course Daisy’s husband Vincent Dreamer.

On the last two rows are all of the kids. We have Buck Comic, Misty’s son, Aspen, Birch’s daughter, then is Lark, Rose’s son, and finally Barley and then Birch, which are Wade’s twins. On the bottom row we have Wasp, Jay’s son, Cotton is next in purple, and is Reed’s son. Our final three toddlers are Robin, Cyprus’ eldest, Stratus, Glen’s eldest, and finally Dove, Jay’s youngest.

Thanks for joining us for anything update and we will be back again soon with what might be the final update or two. If you want more details about the extended family I suggest checking out the family tree below.

Well it’s been quite the break for me again, so it is time to get this post out there and to give you the results of the final heir poll so you know who is taking over the final few updates of this challenge. So, let’s first get to the results.

So just who became heir?

Was it Oryx…

…?

Or perhaps Oriole…

…?

Maybe Pine…

…?

Or was it Nerine…

…?

Could it be Nyala…

…?

The heir is…

Oriole Comic!!

Congrats to Oriole, who was a no-brainier favorite. This vote wasn’t even really close and I will show you the table in a second. That mean we will end this challenge with a male heir and Oriole will have the final “challenges” to complete.

This is the table of results. Oryx had gotten no votes, and since it was clear who was going to win, I threw him a vote just for fun. I was really torn between wanting one of the girls or Oriole so I’m super happy with this choice.

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration

  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family

  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So, we are down to needing pictures taken this generation and then the final few things from Rye (career, skill, and aspiration.) We will have a handful of things for Oriole to do when he’s a YA, but for now let’s see how far we get.

We start with working on badges with Oryx. He didn’t get the young scientist badge as a child, so it’s time to focus on the last badges in his teen years.

Analisa works on teaching Nerine either to say sorry or to say thank you. I can’t remember which, but she is such a god mom.

Rye finally maxes out the career for Engineering. I had too look up if it went beyond 10, but from what I can see it doesn’t, and it mentions in the description that we’ve reached the pinnacle, so I’m marking it off.

Analisa can now go into Full Parent mode. A mode I will likely never use again, but she needed to reach it once for the Super Parent aspiration, and so we did.

Multi-tasking parenting, as I believe Oryx was asking for advise, while eating and mom was trying to get the twins to sleep. It’s almost their birthday and I am so ready to not have toddlers anymore.

Our first of many family updates to come. Ivy grows too a child, Wasp too a toddler, and Hope and Reed welcome a little boy named Cotton.

We then get to say, Happy HarvestFest from the Comic’s. It’s a busy day with the twins taking care of the younger twins, cooking of the grand meal, eating of the grand meal and poor Basil getting surrounded by gnomes.

We also have finally maxed out the final skill for this challenge. Rye only needs to finish up the aspiration and we will have completed all of our Super Mini-Challenges. I did not think we were going to make it there for a bit!

Cake pictures means it’s time for the girls to grow into children. Their brother Pine is there too cheer them on while daddy Rye helps them blow out the candles.

It maybe not be the blow outs the family have had in the past, but the kids all sit down to play a video game together to celebrate no more toddlers in the house! It’s a fun day.

Here are the girls after make-overs. Nyala is first, in the yellow with the longer hair. She got Mean as her first trait. Nerine is in the pink and she got Goofball for her first. Both girls got Top-Notch Toddler and Nyala is going for artistic prodigy while Nerine is going for Social Butterfly.

We have additional birthdays happening in the rest of the family too. Birch and Bay are Orca’s sons, and they are adults, Glen is Wade’s son and he’s an YA and so is Lavender’s son Hawk, and finally Oak, who is Bay’s youngest is a child.

All of the current generation all together and most of them even sitting at the same time. It’s a rare occasion. Looks like some homework, eating, socializing, and cleaning are all taking place.

Since we needed outdoor adventure badge points the kids all went to Windenburg to fish. None of them finish this trip, but it’s done before too much longer within the next day or so.

It’s time to get the boys pictures up on the family scrapbook walls so pictures are taken. The final kids will get their pictures taken when they become teens themselves.

So both boys have the Purveyor of Potions aspiration, if you didn’t remember that, which I really didn’t, and so that requires a trip to the magical realm. While there the boys, and Rye, searched for tomes they don’t already have at home, bought some supplies, and practiced potion making.

Back at home all of the kids come home from a scouts meeting and start to write in their journals. They are all fairly stressed out and tense kids for some reason, so we spend a lot of time journaling.

Another evening and that means another set of family updates as well. We have Jay having a baby with his wife, Cyprus (Wade’s oldest) and Glen (Wade’s second oldest) are also having kids, and Cotton, Reed’s son is now a cute toddler!

It is obviously a Monday as it’s school project day so all the kids work outside to finish their projects while enjoying the evening on the island. It really is pretty on this island.

It’s also now time for Rye to become an elder. Hard to believe it’s already time for him to be “old” now. We still need to finish up the aspiration, but Rye has done really well as the final father of this challenge.

As we get ready to end this particular update, which I knew I was hoping to get all the way through the teen years, feels like a better place to stop, we have a final set of family updates. Kellie, Misty, and Reed all grow into elders as well. Lark, Barley, and Blade are all now children. I suggest looking at the Family Tree link below if you want more info.

We don’t have a ton of people to look at from the extended family this time, but let’s go through it. First up we have Keira Ishikawa who is Cyprus’ baby mama. Cyprus is Orca’s grandson. Next is Cherish Rock, who is Glen’s baby mama. Glen is Cyprus’ brother. Finally on the top we have Lake, who is Petunia’s oldest. Shane Perez is the first on the bottom row, and he is Rose’s new husband. Then we have 3 kids. First is Ivy and then her half brother Oak, Bay’s youngest two, and then Wasp, Jay’s son.

All right that is going to be all we do for now. Thanks for joining me and we will be through this challenge soon I think and I just need to get it blogged.

Comic Summer: Post 3.11

Post 3.10 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 3.12

Hello, welcome back, I’m a little late in getting this posted today, but I’m excited too bring you what is likely the next to last update for this generation! We are so so so very close to being done and I’m excited to see how it ends!

Generation Two Requirements

  • IL: Complete a Nature aspiration
  • JA: Go to Selvadorada to find a spouse
  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline
  • FS: Write a Non-Fiction novel
  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Buried Treasure collection (ongoing)
  • IL: Complete Seashell collection (ongoing)
  • JA: Complete Ancient Artifact collection (ongoing)
  • RoM: Win a duel against all 3 sages (ongoing)

  • Have 3 pregnancies each generation (9 of 9)
  • Workaholics (9 of 10 careers topped)
  • Tricks of the Trade (39 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So we checked off all but the last career, last skill, and last aspiration….all of which Rye is working on right now. Rye does still need to write a book, and we need to finish up pictures as the kids get older, but we are close. So let’s check in.

I decided to do something kind of fun for my family scrapbook walls. I put a shelf with a flower in a vase commemorating the heir/ess color for that generation and then placed the book they wrote on the shelf. Now, there is nothing to stop someone from carrying one off, and that has happened, but I just usually put it back. I think it makes a pretty memorial.

We start with our three boys of this generation. Will one of them win the heir poll? There is one more day (or a handful of hours depending on how quickly I get this written up, in order to vote, so if you haven’t yet, we are all for more votes.

In order to get through the herbalism, Rye is going to need more forest plants, so he goes ahead and plants the ones we brought home Garden bot is right there to tend them. My garden bot disappeared at some point though, as did cleaning bot and I only found the “pile” for one of them.

Rye sits down to write his portion of the family Anthology and while he broke the computer, we just ended up replacing it so he could get it done. It gets added to his shelf and that is one more thing done.

Sadly we get the news that Lavender had passed away. That will make the family very sad for quite a while. She added one son to the extended family.

The final twins, the N-twins, are just too adorable. I really do love these two girls, but the sadness of the whole family, even though we are drinking potions and stuff are not helping these two get their skills. We keep having lots of deaths.

Our lovely Analisa sits down with her babies and reads them a story. Not only does this give them a chance to eat and skill at the same time, but gives Analisa some time with her baby girls.

Bubbles, I have discovered, is bath time. So when I see the girls asking for bubbles I know where the parents are headed. They are usually clean kids, but this is also not helping their skills any. We might have another set of non-skilled toddlers on our hands.

But really, can we be too upset about them? They are so cute in their matching dresses and the sunset outside is absolutely lovely over our flock of flamingos.

I want Basil in real life. He helps his boys feel better after yet another set of deaths rock the family. Not family, but plenty of friends are passing at this point. I’m trying to get the boys through the artistic prodigy but this family is just a mess right now.

We get a lot of extended family updates in a row. Petunia grows into a elder, Lark is Rose’s son and is now a toddler, as are Barley and Blade. Reed is also expecting his first child with his wife.

I found this picture, and scenario kind of funny. We have both Fabiana (in the front) and Desiree out (you can barley make her out in front of the plants). Fabiana is busy mourning Desiree, and Desiree is mourning Lily.

Monday’s mean school projects and both Analisa and Rye helps their eldest boys with them the first night, because we can control them. I’m hoping Analisa will help Pine with his.

Analisa and Rye continue to work on his aspiration and take the rocket for a little fun together. I find the hearts coming out as the rocket takes off pretty fun.

Another set of family updates later and we learn that Jay and Kyra have a little boy named Wasp, Thyme and Tulip are children, as are Eagle and Elm. So many birthdays!

Basil grows into an elder dog and is feeling a little bit neglected. Analisa used to spend all day with him, but with the twins we’ve had our hands full taking care of everyone.

Basil doesn’t feel down for long though as the boys love Basil too and love to play with him and pet him. Before long Basil feels much better and adores his whole family. He’s such a good boy!

It’s finally time for our boys to grow up and I realized, in the poll that I switched the colors on boys. Initially I thought I labeled them wrong, but it was just the color that was off. So this is Oryx who grows up first.

Then it was Oriole’s turn. Both boys are handsome and they still look VERY similar, although their eyebrows are different, which is where I realized I colored them wrong. Both boys actually grew up into their respective colors, which helped.

So here they are as teens. Oriole in the orange, and Oryx in the white (with orange stripes). Oriole added Bro, and Oryx got Hates Children, so this will be a fun house for him. They both are going to do Purveyor of Potions to knock out nature aspirations for both just in case.

To wrap up this update we have our extended family photo album. We start with Bay’s twins, this is Elm and then next to him is his twin brother Eagle. The next two are also twins, this is Thyme and Tulip, Petunia’s kids. On the second line we have yet another set of twins, this time Wade’s boys, Blade followed by Barley. Finally we have 2 boys that are only cousins (lots of twins this generation.) First is Bay’s youngest boy (Elm and Eagle’s half brother) Oak Fyres. Finally, looking very much like his cousin Barley is Rose’s son Lark.

Thanks for joining us again and we might get all the way through teen year next time or we might split it into two, we’ll see what happens. Until next time, thanks for reading!

Comic Summer: Post 3.10

Post 3.09 | Rules | Family Tree | Post 3.11

Hello and welcome back! We are going to have our final heir poll at the end of this update and I hope you are excited to vote! I am excited to see who you pick so I can get through this challenge and be done!! Let’s take a very fast look at our goals.

  • JA: Build a relic and use it on someone outside of the family
  • RoM: Become a spellcaster
  • RoM: Have a child with Ancient Bloodline

  • FS: Take pictures of all the kids and spouse

  • IL: Keep Sulani clean (ongoing)

  • Tricks of the Trade (37 of 40 skills mastered)
  • Aspiration Family (26 of 27 base game aspirations completed)
  • Aspirational Family (goal) (31 of 30 aspirations competed)

So nothing really changed from the last update, but Rye does have the required writing skill to do his book and we should be wrapping up some skills this update, so let’s hop in. This is going to be a slightly longer update, so I hope you won’t mind!

We start with Rye bathing Basil, who is still a terrific dog and is still around. Analisa gives him lots of love and hugs, and training. He’s just the best dog but had gotten a bit dirty.

You may or may not remember that Petunia had twins a couple of updates back, and now they are toddlers, Tulip and Thyme. Maura Fyres is one of Bay Comic’s girls, and she gave him another little boy named Oak.

The final baby, Baby N, is on it’s way and none too soon either since Rye is preparing a trip to the forest to gather up plants for his herbalism skill. This is the last skill we need to get high levels. So Analisa is going to have to go through most of this pregnancy alone.

This is apparently the only picture of Rye I have in the forest, where he is hanging out with the hermit from the woods. He manages to find all but one of the plants, gets all but one of those identified and learned the special herbalism concoction from the hermit. Then we headed home.

Where we find a VERY pregnant Analisa. She has kept working with Basil, and has been busy teaching Pine some of his skills so she can get her parenting maxed out. Which she does finally learn to do. That should help with the baby or babies when they come. If tradition holds, Analisa should have twins again.

Loyal Basil, never far from his favorite sims. If it isn’t Analisa it’s one of the O-twins. He really seems to love this family and I adore having him as a dog. He is full trained at this point, so Analisa just needs to practice with him a little more to max her skill.

After the trip to the forest Rye focuses on completing his robotics skill and thus, hopefully, getting the final promotion in his career. Oceana is out again “helping” Rye with his craft. Before long, however, we not only have a good quality cleaning bot, but robotics has been maxed!

Another night another extended family update. Now Aspen and Buck (Birch and Misty’s kids) are children and Cyprus (Wade’s eldest) is a YA and might be ready to start a family of his own soon.

Oceana still likes to dance and Oriole practices his dance moves with his aunt. Rye works on reading up a little more on herbalism so he can hopefully concoct enough herbal remedies to finish that skill.

The final birth is finally here, and while Analisa goes through the pains of labor we head to the hospital, where amazingly, the same person who delivered Oryx and Oriole is the same person to deliver these final babies. Yes, babies, it’s a set of twin girls!

Welcome to the challenge little Nyala and little Nerine. Analisa is happy to be done with that pregnancy and she is ready to take care of these last two little babies for this challenge!

Back at home, the flamingo flock has been added to with the final flamingo’s of the challenge It’s quite a flock for sure, but I’m glad there won’t be any more added, this is plenty!

We also get one final look of Rye being an adorable toddler because it’s almost his birthday. This is the first toddler I’ve had play on the chair and it’s so cute!

But as I said, it was birthday time. Analisa baked up a cake and then had to go tend to the N-twins while Rye brought little Pine to the cake. He grows up very handsome and looks different from his brothers. He went from Independent to Lazy and got Social Butterfly. He did not even get to Happy Toddler, and won’t complete his aspiration since he’s a Bad Apple and there is no way I’m getting through Social Butterfly without control.

He quickly goes over and hangs out with one of his older brothers while they finish up the motor skill. Both Oriole and Oryx finish up the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration and get the Artistic Prodigy aspiration added next.

We have a few more updates from the extended family. Jay is expecting a new baby with his wife Kyra, and then 3 more babies were added to the family. Rose had a little boy, and Kellie (Wade’s wife) added twins.

Analisa, with just a little additional work with Basil has mastered our next to last skill, Pet Training. We have one skill left to finish and that is herbalism, but that is going to take up a bit more time.

Analisa celebrates her accomplishments with her husband.

Ok you too, be careful with that. The last time that happened, the two behind you happened.

Analisa: You worry too much, no more babies for us.

Rye: Yeah, but don’t expect me to keep my hands off my wife.

Jumping slightly forward in time and it’s time for the final babies to grow into toddlers. It’s hard to believe we are this close to being done. Once the heir poll ends we will have until these 2 grow into YA or Adults (depending on who gets chosen) to complete the final goals.

Little Nyala, held by her daddy, and little Nerine in Analisa’s arms grow up together. They are not identical, but they are very similar. Both of them end up rolling silly as their trait as toddlers. That should be fun. Nerine is a spellcaster, but Nyala is not sadly. So while it’s easy enough to change her, that means Pine and Nyala are not at the top of the heir poll wish list.

Analisa takes one of the babies down to play in the kiddie pool. I love this thing, it’s so cute! It makes them both playful. After that is done we got do some make-overs.

Here are the final two kids for this generation. Nerine, which is a flower that can range from white to crimson gets pink for her color, and Nyala is an antelope type creature and therefore gets brown and sometimes orange for hers. I thin they are adorable!

Both girls get hats like their mom for warm weather outfits, and we get started on potty training right away. However, this update is getting long enough and we still need to do an heir poll, so that will be it for the family. I know you don’t get to know Nyala and Nerine much before the poll, but this is really just about who carries us to the end.

Before that, however, let’s look really quick at the extended family updates.

We start with Aspen, the daughter of Birch and Kayla. Then we have Buck, Misty’s son. Last on the top row is Ivy, Bay’s only daughter so far. On the bottom row are Bay’s twin son’s (so brothers to Ivy) Elm and then Eagle. They have a different mother than Ivy and are very close in age. The final two adorable kids are Petunia’s twins with her husband, Thyme and Tulip. They are super cute.

And to wrap up everything this time we have the promised heir poll. So who will take us over the finish line of this challenge? To recap what they will need to do, they will need to write a book, create a relic and use it on someone outside the household, be a spell caster, and complete a nature aspiration.

So your choices are, starting on the left:

  • Oryx Comic (Orange): Spellcaster, Self-Assured, Active, Hates Children
  • Oriole Comic (White): Spellcaster, Outgoing, Bro, Perfectionist
  • Pine Comic (Gray): Bad Apple, Non-spellcaster, Lazy, Hates Children*, Child of the Ocean*
  • Nyala Comic (Brown): Non-spellcaster, Mean*, Snob*, Genius*
  • Nerine Comic (Pink): Spellcaster, Goofball*, Materialistic*, Squeamish*

So my current choice would be either Oryx or Oriole as they can get their goals done before their sisters are YA and that would end the challenge a little earlier. Since I’m already done with basically all of the goals this would be ideal, but I love the girls too and will abide by either decision.

Thanks for voting for the final heir, we are that much closer to being done with this challenge and the poll will close on the morning of the 26th, so get your votes it!
